Neighborhood bar, not crowded at all. The bar tender was incredibly friendly and attentive being there were only a few patrons. I've been back again since then. It was still not very busy on a Sunday. It was very clean and does not smell like a bar. I like it here! read more

Small, friendly, divey bar in the Castro. It's nice to get a break from all the clubs and packed places in the neighborhood. It has a juke box that I haven't really checked out, but music can get kinda loud. It's cash only though. Not a big fan of that. read more

I was visiting San Francisco with a group of friends from DC. We decided to swing into Last Call to get some happy hour deals and found it through yelp. We all entered not knowing what to expect, but left with a new favorite SF bar. The atmosphere is good for groups of friends. Ask for owner/bartender Kevin. He was amazingly nice and introduced us to the bar regulars and gave us tips and advice on places to go and see while in SF. We liked him so much that we needed a group picture before we left. He also shared some pretty fun stories about SF living. Highly recommend this spot - but be warned, there's no Beyonce or Britney Spears on the jukebox and they'll likely keep it that way :) read more

So, really cool, intimate gay bar. Favorite thing to do is grab a hotdog from the next door 7-11, and enjoy that with a beer!

I'm not one to really go out to bars or clubs but whenever I am in the Castro, this is the place to go. The crowd consist of older folks but thats why I like it. The feel of the bar is very relaxing, laid back, and comfortable. Plus, most of the older folks are really respectful and just enjoys good conversation. The bartenders are always respectful and friendly when I inform them if I could have water since I am not a drinker. Most bartenders around the area seems to pass judgement. So I may be a bit biased having lived right across the street for a while but this is the coziest little spot to grab a drink in the Castro! It's tiny, probably 15-20 people could fit in comfortably and there's usually around 10. It's a good mix of nice, mostly older guys (totally refreshing from the old creeper guys at other gay bars). They poor strong drinks too, I would always go for happy hour for $3 drinks. Cozy and quaint, it's the perfect little oasis in the middle of the Castro to beat the crowds. read more

This is a charming, friendly, neighborhood-y bar with absolutely wonderful (minimal) staff and a fantastic jukebox. Always great movies playing on silent, largely a congenial crowd; very welcoming to women, which, let's face it, not all Castro bars are. I really like this neighborhood bar. Back in the day it was the Men's Room and I remember being fairly groped and traumatized as a little 20-something college student, but the crowd is way better now. Awesome bartenders, GREAT music, good crowd, inexpensive, chill, quiet but not empty. read more

I don't drink alcoholic drinks anymore, but if I did, I would be doing hit at Last Call. It's still a well kept secret, but the clientele are extremely friendly and the jukebox is fun to play. I steer clear of bars with jerk managers like the bar with the street address on Castro or the kinda snarly twink places. Last Call Bar always gets a nod of approval from me. The Mix, though sometimes kinda loud and smoky out back (well thats what patios are for!) has another friendly vibe to it, and is the other place I dig. read more

Visiting SF from NY I wasn't entirely sure of where to go. So I went on Yelp, and luckily discovered Last Call. Everyone here was so incredibly friendly. Kevin is one of the best bartenders I have ever met and is a genuinely nice person. Not only did he make some excellent suggestions for things to do on my visit, he also made sure I got to know some of the regulars. What made it even better was when I came back 2 months later and he remembered me. Every bartender I've met here has been equally as amazing. Not only will I make sure to stop in here on all future visits I've also been recommending Last Call to all my friends who are visiting SF. Way to go Kevin (and all your staff), and keep up the great work! read more

This bar is a delightful little gem hiding in plain sight on 18th Street. The two owners Karl and Kevin are an adorable couple probably in their mid to late 70s and they've done a wonderful job in making Last Call Bar comfortable, fun and friendly. I went here because everyone told me how nice the staff and patrons were. They're not, as you can see in other recent reviews! Very hostile. It's very cliquey and people were rude. And very drunk. Someone got mad because I sat in "his" regular seat, as if he owned it. Told me to move. Got belligerent. Owners/Bartenders ignore you if you're not a regular, even if you tip well! Awesome "dive" bar. Low lighting and cozy feel (we got seats during Argentina's world cup game) but actually really nice inside - leather barstools and great design with benches lining the back walls. Cheap happy hour specials from noon to 7pm make this a perfect stop a before or after your sunny afternoon in Dolores. read more

It is a dive but not the dive that you normally get. It was a lot cleaner than most. :) The service was decent but the crowd was a bit weird. There was a group of people up front that needed a severe hygiene check done. It is a good place to grab a beer and relax for a dive. Although it was one and done, I would go back. This is a nice, quaint bar. Ironically, the first stop for our District of Castro Pub Cawl. A polite and courteous Irishman captained the bar, taking care of our drinks, including my brother's Oatmeal Cookie cocktail (which was delicious); and socializing with us from time to time. The original Clash of the Titans was playing on their TVs while we were there, which was fun. This is a nice, mellow place to spend an afternoon. read more

So glad I "checked in" here because otherwise there is no way I'd have remembered the name of this bar. Came in here after dinner with my boyfriend to get a drink and get out of the cold. Last Call Bar is the way a dive bar should be. Cheap.. And I do mean CHEAP drinks. The drinks were done well with lots of liquor. The bar was clean and wasn't too packed, a mix of 80's rock playing in the background and a movie playing on the TV. Bartender wasn't very engaging but he made great drinks and kept em coming so I can't complain. When you get tired of visiting the trendy bars and just want to sit down and relax.. Let's just start with this, after leaving the Eureka last night very disgruntled, friends and I ended up at the Last Call Bar. The place was packed, in a good way. We sat at the end of the bar, had a great time. We also had the privilege of meeting the owner, what a gentlemen. Just a great person, the bartenders are also very nice and you get a great drink with a smile...love that. This will become our new place to hang, thank you for the warm reception. Last night was our first time at Last Call so I really don't know what is the best night, I think all nights are good. :) read more

If you are looking for a sf locals favorite bar this is it! The owners are working as your friendly bartenders giving you amazing service and great drinks. The crowd is always friendly and chatty. As my friend quoted " Are we at Cheers in SF". A must stop in whether you're bar hopping or just need an after work beverage. The happy hour specials are an amazing deal and bountiful!
