I had a nice , slow start to my morning today so I started it off with some goodies from Latham Bakery. The inside has a cozy cabin feel to it, though certainly is on the colder side so make sure you have a cardigan, sweater or coat handy. I ordered their toffee nut latte with 2% milk and avocado toast. The total came out to $15 which blew my mind because the toast alone would cost that much anywhere else in Dallas. The toast was made with all fresh ingredients and was very filling. Even though I added everything bagel seasoning it still needed a bit more, so when I got home I added some chili crunch for extra oomph and it was perfect. The latte itself was just ok, pretty mild in terms of flavor...not sure if it was due to my milk or flavor choice as I normally order hazelnut lattes but wanted to try something different. Nonetheless I'm happy I came and look forward to returning, as they have so many other things I'd love to try.

When I tell you that you can blink and miss this place that's what I mean, lol! I was parking to go somewhere else and just happened to see this shop and go in. I wasn't disappointed! There's sooooooo many options to choose from! I got 2 sweet treats to eat later but the avocado toast definitely hit the spot for breakfast. They don't charge you for the toppings and the price for every item was great. I'll definitely go back.

Maybe its because jersey mikes cancelled my sandwich out of a group order so Im a bit mad I had to go get new food. But I am disappointed this is what panini bread is, in no world I would have expected this type of bread. I googled panini bread and this isnt what comes up. So just in case anyone else gets asked go with the sourdough so you get a real sandwich. I really Like this place but idk what this is

Exceded my expectations We ordered a birthday cake feeding 25-30 people it cost us $75 Other bakeries wanted to charge me $250 plus. Latham bakery hit all the check marks on what I wanted. The flavors of the cake were strawberry cake with lemon filling and vanilla butter cream. Communications with the bakery was really great also. If we ever need a cake again, we will order fr here again!

My family has been purchasing birthday cakes from Latham for years. Recently I noticed my MIL stopped buying cakes with them. I stopped in myself for a salad, pie, and a pastry. The salad was fresh but the chicken didn't taste the best. Not terrible but had a reheated taste eve though it was cold. The strawberry scone was good with fresh strawberry pieces however, the middle was doughy and undercooked. The pie was disappointing. The crust had a stale taste and the whipped topping was that oil based, fake stuff. I ended up throwing is away after a few bites. Overall, it seems quality has declined on many things but I would still return for a coffee or sandwich.

Good soup and sandwiches here! Had the pick 2, 1/2 chicken salad and poblano soup. Tasty!! All fresh ingredients! Also got an assortment of pastries and cheesecake, loved all! A little pricey but locally owned and fresh well made offerings.. worth it! Cute dining area was clean. Staff was friendly (counter service) Recommend!!

My friend and I came in for brunch and ordered the chicken salad sandwich on sourdough, spinach and goat cheese quiche, and cheese danish. Everything tasted amazing and made us both want to get some carrot cake and tea to-go with plans to come back. The staff was friendly and happy to offer advice on what the store has to offer. It's a great place to eat inside or outside, or just order to go. We would definitely recommend coming here for a tasty treat!

This was my first order . I ordered a Cobb Sandwich . I have enjoyed it in salad form from another establishment. The sandwich is nicely packed with bacon , boiled egg , ham, turkey , blue cheese , lettuce , tomato, mayo on wheat bread . I enjoy a thick sandwich with plenty of goodness . I always play Pokemon Go here and tend to do my walk around the downtown area. I always wanted to check out a place and eat here. I saw this place was rather busy on a weekend or weekday whenever I go. I saw some of the pictures and the menu and I saw Strawberry Pina Colada Creme. I ended up getting a large for $6.50, but $7 dollars with tax. I also saw all of the dessert and pastries that I really wanted to try, but I had to stop myself as I can see myself going overboard as after all I wanted to get the drink. The drink itself was a little bit pricey, however, it was definitely worth the price as this was one of the best drinks I ever had. My wife might say it was too sweet, but I loved it. I wish they did open a little earlier as I tend to leave the house by 6:30am

First time trying this place out and the soup was delicious very flavorful! The muffin was mid. The carrot cake was a solid 9/10 the best out of the 3 desserts I got, the tres leches cake wasn't moist as it should be so I give it a solid 7/10 and the bar was a 5/10 it was so dry and tbh couldn't take the cinnamon it also had so much icing. The location is small so if yall plan on eating there good luck. One of the workers was a bit rude, but overall I would go again!

Makes me sad to be so blunt about this use to be favorite bakery. We've been going to Latham bakery for 3 years. The first 1-1/2 years were great. Excellent customer with smiles and light conversations. Main area of bakery including bathrooms were sanitary and it was really a quality and pleasant bakery/coffee shop. Now the last 1-1/2 years we have noticed a HUGE decline on the quality of the meats, quantity of the meats, the condiments, the bread and even in the preparation of the sandwiches and breakfast items that we order. My last sandwich they couldn't even get the bread on properly nor wrap it well. I don't know understand what happened. Did the owners get bought out? Are there new owners? And/or did the owners just get lazy? So, about a month ago I went into downtown Forney for a visit and on a whim stopped in at Latham Bakery to purchase $80 worth of sweets for the family gathering we were having and to also use the restroom. Big mistake on the restroom stop. First the mini hall floor area from bathroom the door to kitchen entrance door and in hall was as if somebody had dumped a kids beach bucket of mud there and slathered it all around. It hadn't rained so no reason for mud. I went into the bathroom and it was filthy. I actually didn't want to sit down so I hovered and as I looked around i realized just how icky the bathroom floor, walls, door and corners all were. On top of that the toilet roll fixtures, sink fixture and the pipes were in eye view and are so horrendously rusted that it all combined made me so uncomfortable using that bathroom. I shouldn't have used it, but I had to go so bad that I was desperate. Talk about unsanitary. Also, the servers just always seem more interested in talking to each-other than helping or speaking with customers. Get servers who will make your customers feel wanted and also engage and prepare the food with care and adequate amounts of condiments and meats on those pricey sandwiches. Hey Latham Bakery Owners, What happened to the customer service smiles with excellent customer service and sanitary bathrooms? Also, no one there who are baristas knows how to make a delicious coffee nor a delicious sugar free frappe. We stopped buying the drinks because the drinks never come out tasty.

i've come here several times and without fail, every experience has been so wonderful. the bakery items, the lunch menu and the coffee is all delicious! my personal favorite is an iced coffee with oatmilk and sugar free vanilla. definitely a great way to start a weekend outing read more

Wooooow I had the strawberry swirl cake and a regular bagel from this place and it was gooooood. The bagel and cream cheese and the cake was verry moist and soft wow. Also the staff was very friendly and very joking I liked it a lot it felt very inviting with it being our first time in. I will definitely come back soon idc that it's 20 min away from us. read more

Everything is so good. Try their salads and you won't be disappointed. There is always a line and they are doing the best they can In a tight spot. Everyone is so friendly though and that makes it all okay, plus the salad is amazing, so is their tea. read more

Get the walnut brownie and thank me later! It was so delicious and moist. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed it with Amaretto coffee. Can't wait to come back in the winter and sit inside. Such a cute historic building. It even has an old safe inside from being a former bank. Nice atmosphere and a real gem to downtown Forney. read more

I never knew a cold sandwich could be so good!! I had the cobb sandwich - it was incredible! The person I was with had the chicken salad sandwich and she raved about how good it was! I have stopped by this location every few months for the past several years to purchase different items, yesterday I stopped in to purchase a blueberry muffin, only to find that it had virtually no blueberries in it, 4 at the most, and it tasted like pure granulated sugar. I don't know what the issue is with the quality of their food but I'm not sure I'll be returning. No issues with the service, I still think it's a lovely and inviting space. read more

First time stopping in and I can absolutely say I love the atmosphere, I love the customer service I received and LOVED the food!!! So the young lady who helped me with my order was very knowledgeable and came off as if she wanted to help instead of making it seem like I was stopping her other job duties , definitely appreciate that. She was very patient and was super informative of the questions I was asking. I ended up ordering a sandwich, 2 bakery items and a frappe !! All I can say is that I will definitely be back!! This place is in a great location & is so cool on the inside. It's a great concept & the sweets are all good. Here's the thing: I love coffee & their coffee game is a lil weak. Here is what you need to know about Latham - their soups and a majority of their baked goods and breads are not made on site. They're are reheated or baked here. The best soup is the poblano - which is made by Campbell's. The staff for the most part is friendly. The owner appears rude and cold; she has RBF real bad (resting *itch face) and is not welcoming or hospitable to anyone she doesn't know. They are very proud of their products and their prices reflect it. Our office has had them cater with box lunches more than once and they were pretty disappointing as well. read more

All around yummy food. Bubbly owner who always puts a smile on your face. Very clean and organized as well. They are not just a bakery, they are so much more. You can not go wrong with any of their salads or sandwiches. Typically I would have some kind of something to say, but sit down, take it to go, or curbside, (I've tried them all) still fresh still great, my go to place as a local. Came with a friend to try this place out. Im trying to eat healthier and this place was probably a bad idea since i was tempted with the delicious goods they were serving. I was able to stay strong and ordered a Club sandwich with fruit. The sandwich was delicious! Probably the best club sandwich Ive ever had. The fruits were juicy and sweet. I really enjoyed the food and the service was great as well! Totally going in for one of their sweets next time! read more

As I didn't want or need a full cake for my birthday, daughter sent me cupcakes and a slice of German chocolate cake. We enjoyed everything. The cupcakes and the slice of cake were moist and flavorful. The cupcakes had ample frosting. I wish the GC slice of cake had a bit more frosting but that's a personal choice not anything the bakery did wrong. Overall, we were very satisfied with everything that we received. And we will definitely use this bakery again read more

The food was DELICIOUS. Truly chefs kiss ! I had the buffalo chicken grilled cheese with a cup of the the soup of the day (tomato basil). I also ordered a blueberry muffin and an iced latte. I should not have eaten as much as I did but it was worth it. You can tell it's all fresh. The customer service was also great. I wish I would have gotten her name but the woman that helped my friend was funny and very welcoming, reminded us to take a minute to sit and enjoy our food which honestly reminded me of my own. She made sure to great everyone that walked in. Loved the cafe as well, ambiance was great. Small and welcoming, will definitely be returning next time I'm in town read more

This is a sweet lil spot to stop in and try out. Friendly staff, made-to-order breakfast & lunch menus in addition to fantastic house-made sweet treats. Also has a little coffee bar with a handful of caffeine choices and fresh brewed Tea's; black, sweet and a super-yum sweetened watermelon. They have amazing soup!! I usually get their poblano soup and their jalapeño grilled cheese both amazing. I have gotten their iced coffee and it's good but you have to customize in your own. Doesn't have sugar. Be prepared for that! read more

My husband and I went here for the first time today, and I'm so glad we did. This bakery is a little gem in historic downtown Forney. The woman at the counter was so friendly and helpful. I ordered the cobb sandwich and my husband ordered the tuna sandwich. We both had the watermelon tea, which was great! Not too sweet, but just enough. My sandwich was great, really flavorful and fresh. My husband loved the tuna sandwich, which he said was the best he ever had. The woman at the counter had let my husband know that the tuna sandwich wouldn't be like most traditional tuna sandwiches, as this was oil based with capers. She even had him try a sample of it before he ordered it. I tried it too, and it was great. Unfortunately we didn't get any desserts this time around, but I have no doubt we will be back. Cute, local bakery? Check! Excellent service? Check! Good food, check! Go local. You won't be disappointed. read more

The young girls taking orders had horrible attitudes. They were sighing as if I was a bother. I was in the middle of ordering several things from the bakery and the one helping me walked off so I guess that was it for me! You can have the best bakes goods in town but if you are making me feel uncomfortable or not valued as a customer I will not return. UPDATE: the lemon blueberry bundt cake was extremely dry. Would have loved to try the tuna sandwich I ordered. I'm in the midst of moving and it took me a while to find a place that would deliver. Unfortunately they didn't list onions as one of the ingredients and I am allergic to onions, so now I've paid money, waited an hour, and still have no food to eat. Please update your ingredients list to include ALL items included. read more

They have so many delightful and fun pastries that it's hard to choose what to try. My favorite is the chocolate roll!! I use to buy them by the dozen and then would eat them all over a few days... Not a good idea for the figure so now I buy just one. The loaf of croissant bread was yummy, just sliced it and toasted it up. Great food, good service, friendly people. In response to Eric from Mesquite, my husband and I often go to Latham's. We are white and we are in our seventies. Occassionly when we go in they bring the food out to us. Most of the time, however, they ask for a name and call us to pick it up. I've kind of observed this and it has seemed to me that it often depends on the order, who's available at the time, and what's going on in the kitchen. We were in there yesterday and were called to pick up our order. I'm sorry your wife felt she was being discriminated against, but I honestly think it was a coincidence.
