The food is great, the portions are big and the music is dope (old school salsa but it's my first time here I don't know if they switch it up). They can be a tad expensive but again the portions are huge. This is a mom and pop (or abuelita) eat until you fall asleep type of place. I was disappointed to say the least, I remember this restaurant because it was a favorite, even held my high school graduation party here. It WAS amazing. However this will truly be my last. This experience shows what the change of managers/owners can do to the quality of the food. Cold food, slow service, and incorrect orders you name it. Unless they get their act together, it's hard to justify to a customer a 31 dollar dish that lacks flavor and heat, making me feel like I'm eating partially reheated leftovers at the restaurant. It's sad man used to be so good, now my recommendation is choose a different restaurant, there are plenty of better options out there. read more

I wanted to try this place for breakfast for quite a while. Now I kind of wish we hadn't. We were the first people here for breakfast on a Saturday morning before a long day of Christmas shopping. This made me a bit leery. We obviously had our choice of seats so found a cozy corner and settled in. Waitress came over and took out coffee order and was back in a jiffy with it. Great coffee, should have asked what brand it was. We ordered our breakfasts and that's when the problems began. More people finally started to arrive and I felt a bit better about that. One waitress for the place and I soon realized that the people coming in had to be regulars because the waitress was just chatting away with everyone, for a very long time, which led to problem: #1 - The wait for our food became ridiculous,. We were the only people there for quite sometime, I saw a couple people in the kitchen so I knew there was someone there to cook. Where was our food. #2 - Finally get our food, and you guessed it, it was cold. No cold eggs for me, we had to send the meals back. #3 - When we finally got our food, my eggs were not cooked properly, were very runny and I couldn't eat them. My bacon was ok, French toast was ok, but they didn't have sugar free syrup, which I have to use. A side of chorizo was ok. #4 - Wanted out bill so we could get out of there, but waitress was too busy telling others all about her life so took quite a while before we could flag her down for our bill. The prices were good here. Although our waitress seemed a bit absent minded she was very nice. We will not return. read more

Portions were huge. Pretty good but not the best in the area. Service started out good but quickly deteriorated as our waiter disappeared after dropping off our food. We asked for more bread and he never returned to ask how our food was or give us more bread. We could see him laughing and joking with another table in the back. The table next to us had to have a waiter go fetch him so they could pay their bill. We were finished for 20 minutes before we could get boxes for our food and leave. This place is racist. I went in there with my boyfriend an immediately felt awkward by all of the stares and the cold vibes from the hostess and waiters. It took us forever to be seated when we finally were and throughout our meals we were not checked on once. They obviously only want Spanish people going in there but wtf this is America. Arrived on a Sunday not very busy, maybe 20 folks in the place. Latin music played from the sound system. Our server was nice...very soft spoken so everything to him was "good" when we asked about favorite dishes. We ordered chicken empanadas to start. For our entree's we ordered the cuban pork and Cuban bread arrived prior, a little spongy and not too crispy, it was ok but could have stayed in the toaster/grill/oven a little longer. The empanadas were tasty and spicy, and there were four. The dough surrounding them was fried perfectly. The filling was nicely seasoned and juicy. Nice way to start the meal. The entree arrived. The black beans were hot (temp) but flavorless. The yellow rice was a bit dry but more flavorful than the beans. The pork was delicious and served with tasty pickled onions. Overall a decent meal, but nothing spectacular. Would I eat here again, certainly...but there is better Cuban/Latin food to be had in the Tampa area. read more

Very unprofessional manager!!!! Made an order online, and upon pick up I was upcharge. When I ask the server, why I was charge this amount, when online says a different amount? She was very nice and said to talk to the manager so she can fix it. Manager was on the phone and I waited. She then started talking to me while still on the phone, even when I told her I would wait. She insisted I talk to her while at the same time talking ton the phone. I explain the situation and her excuse was "The prices has change". I told her I understand but the price on their website must be granted. Her response was "The website has not been updated". I explain, I understand but if I made an order thinking I was paying a certain amount, she cannot charge me more once I got to the store. All she said was sorry and that there she can do. I was very upset because I was work on restaurants and if that happens, you automatically return the money and fix the situation. We are in Brandon visiting my mother in law and were craving Spanish food. The ambiance was nice. They have a live Spanish band that plays salsa, bachata,merengue, reggaeton. They were really good for a local band. The service was slow and our food to over half hour. However the food was good and flavorful. I had the pork chops with yuca and yellow rice. I tried my mother in laws shrimp mofongo and it was great. The sangria wasn't the best I wouldn't recommend it. Overall had a good experience and food was tasty. read more

Excellent food, we've been here twice and every time it is excellent. Service is fast, and portions are big which any Latino can appreciate. Maria, our server, was right on point and did not miss a beat. Had the platter appetizer and the mofongo with churrasco. I honestly LOVE the food here. It's fresh and delicious. Unfortunately this place extremely lacks good service. Every single time we have come here, my husband and I have felt ignored. The servers would rather stand around and talk to one another then come check on you for refills or to even seat you in the first place! Please step it up with the service guys. Have been to here several times as part of a grp that I organize. There is usually 15-20 of us. This past Sat nite I had a party of 17. Have never had any issues until last nite. Music was way too loud. I was the 1st to order my food..the person that ordered 3rd git her food within 10 min....the rest of us waited 15-25 min...I got my food last..about 5 min after the rest....when I asked the waitress why 1 got theirs so fast she tried to explain it was the way she & the other waitresses turned in the orders...whic6made absolutely no sense. If anything I should have gotten either 1st or when the one that got hers early as we ordered the same thing.
