I stopped by to get x-rays and have my teeth exam and I was getting ready to hear a lot of bad news. Knowing that I had not visited the dentist in about 8 to 10 years I knew that there would be work that would be needed to be completed.. The dentist was very helpful with letting me know the severity of it, but at the same time showed optimism and made me feel comfortable. Not only are we looking into the repairment of my tooth but also he explained to me the things that would be needed to be done in order to restore my teeth. I had plaque built up and my gums were very swollen with numbers high as fives and six which is not great and he explained to me that it would take a few appointments of deep cleaning and laser treatment in order to restore them. The appointments that I've had with them have been painless, and they have always made me feel comfortable while visiting them. This really helped me overcome my fear of visiting in the dentist and I actually do look forward to seeing them for my next appointment. Thank you Downey family dental, Dr. Nguy and the rest of the team for not only making it a seamless and positive experience, but truly helping me get my teeth restored!

I hadn't been to the dentist office in a while due to a bad experience so a chipped tooth brought me here! The staff is so friendly and explained everything in detail! They saw how anxious I was but worked with me through the process, made me feel like they were one of my friends! Dr.Farag was wonderful and I almost fell asleep when he was working on my tooth! The visit did last a couple hours so one of the staff members got me a smoothie and I'm insanely grateful for that! Today was my 2nd visit for a root canal and wow Dr.Okefe the dentist & Dr.Raouf the endodontist were both great. Made me feel at ease and answered any questions I had. As someone who's never had a root canal done before, I felt uneasy going into it but I did not feel any pain throughout. They told her they could assess her teeth and schedule a cleaning another time due to the long wait. Most of the time they are running 30+ minutes behind which sucks when you're taking a certain…read moreamount of time off work. On top of that they schedule you for multiple things in one visit but usually don't have time to get around to everything because they pack their appointments too tight. I now have to request more time off work and schedule an additional appt because they didn't get around to my fill the first time they said they could, and they didn't get around to it the second time they said they would! They just do not value your time. Once they actually bring you back you spend a lot of time just sitting in the chair waiting because they're literally bouncing from patient to patient during your entire visit. I also don't think the dentist or any of the dental assistants actually know your name. They also don't tell you what they're doing as they're doing it. You just get a bunch of fingers in your mouth and shots in the gums with literally zero heads up. Luckily I don't get freaked out by needles by I would NOT recommend this place for people that do get scared about dental work. Nothing about this experience is focused on making you feel comfortable or at ease. One of the assistants in particular (I will not say who) gives a total "I'm just here for a paycheck" vibe and barely speaks or informs you what she's doing inside your mouth. I started getting concerned as to why the overlay was not staying secure in my tooth when she was shoving it up there over and over again and it repeatedly kept falling out. Idk the process of putting in an overlay so I'm just sitting there thinking it wasn't made properly. Only when I asked did she then say "well we haven't cemented it in" like it should be obvious but idk wtf the process is. All it takes is some basic communication and patients shouldn't be the ones having to initiate that. If I could go back and pick a different dentist office to pay $2000+ for treatment I definitely would. After my treatment is complete I will not be returning here. My 2 stars instead of 1 is only because the front desk staff is super nice and the office is decent and clean.
