Went to this restaurant simply by chance on a Friday night. It was very busy but my husband and I were seated very quickly. The food was wonderful. My husband had a pork chop that was as big as a T-bone steak and melt-in-your-mouth tender. He could cut it with a fork! My salmon was perfectly cooked served with a flavorful risotto. The fresh oysters were so good - just the right size and served beautifully. Our waiter - Kyle - was the best...superb service, great personality and really made our evening. I live in Greenfield my mom lives in Deerfield this was our second visit to the latitude. Danny our server is the one of the best I've ever been around. This review is on a short stop, not an entire dining experience... We popped in on Sunday afternoon to sit outside. The patio wasn't open yet as the weather was chilly in the AM, however the hostess got us all set up and brought us out to a table. Our server Amanda was super friendly and had a great sense of humor. Very warm personality. I ordered a grapefruit martini but because of a bridal shower earlier they had run out of grapefruit items - no big deal, we had a nice banter and chuckle about it and I ordered a gimlet up instead. We split a Steak Flat bread which was really good. The menu was limited as it was about 1:30 and still in brunch mode. I don't like "breakfast" items so we opted to enjoy our cocktails, have a little nibble and move on to another spot. Service was great. Food was Delicious. The patio is small and right on the road but nothing to complain about. The inside decor looked upscale and nice and would love to come back for dinner. read more

My colleague and I were traveling on business in the Berkshires and decided to have lunch at this Pioneer Valley eatery, which has gotten numerous strong reviews both online and from professional friends. Since the dining area was nearly full, we decided to eat at the bar. The bartender, Ophelia, was quick to provide a setup, but was clearly overwhelmed by the midday rush and was in no mood for banter. In her defense, the Holiday luncheon crowd can be an royal pain in the bum. To start, We split a steak and cheese flatbread, which was light, tasty and crisp. To be candid, it was the best flatbread I have ever had. Brilliant! For our entree, I had the Latt-Burger, with Cheddar, Bacon and a tasty Dijon aoli sauce. I ordered it medium and it came out well done. Edible, but disappointed with the standard overdone burger that you get at most places you go to. My partner had a stuffed lettuce wrap that she raved about. We were provided prompt refills on our drinks, and the bill came without asking. Latitude comes off as an upscale, high end venture. Had a wonderful meal at Lattitude Restaurant! It's been years since I visited and just as good as I remembered! Of course we started with the staple brussel sprouts with chipotle aioli. I was impressed with the serving size! We had a whole basket served up with the fried bitter greens perfectly complimented by their slightly spicy aioli. My friend got the "burnt end" Korean tacos. She said they were great and spicy! Served with a large basket of crispy, meaty french fries, you would think we had our fill! We got entrees as well. I chose the slow-cooked short rib with mashed potatoes, dressed greens and a fried egg on top. My friend opted for the scallops with bacon and rissoto. My short ribs were so tender and fall-apart good. The mashed potatoes were cheesy and creamy. I thought the greens were a little overdressed. My friend has a delicious rissoto, crispy bacon and HUGE meaty scallops perfectly seared/cooked. The only bummer about the visit was the bartender. We felt as though we were being rushed out the door and he never offered to refill our drinks. Very disappointed in that aspect of service because everyone else we spoke with/watched serve other customers appeared to be fabulous workers. Not sure how this place gets such good reviews. We tried this place many years ago when they first opened and were seriously disappointed with the food for the price, and nothing has changed much in that department. I love the atmosphere. However, I go to a restaurant solely for the food. And it falls WAY short on the quality of the entrees. I had the roasted vegetable risotto, which I expected to be full of hearty roasted veggies. What I got was a lot of tomato and tiny bites of veggies I could not make out at all. It was overall really bland, and I was so longing for salt and pepper, which wasn't on the table. It was certainly not worth $20.00. The brussel sprout app. is wonderful as is the peppermint cheesecake we had for dessert, although I had my heart set on the caramel cake they list on their online menu but were out of. I stumbled upon this place driving home from work in Springfield. Since we moved to CT this summer, I'm still learning the area food. I was so hungry and asked my waiter for a recommendation. He suggested the butternut squash soup with candied ginger. Well, the soup is very good, but that candied ginger took it to some next level ish I can't describe. Truthfully, don't have it without the ginger. I say this because I took my bestie here when she was in town from NoCal and their ginger candied (cause that's a thing) had quit! No ginger for us! It wasn't the same :/ Now some cool stuff has happened since I first went back in October- I have have taken my husband three times. Lol, Birthday, holiday, regular day... I really like this place! Always really nice service but recently they started offering little plates! So you can order the same awesome meal, but smaller. This matters because their normal portions are hugenormous! Went there for our 30th anniversary and we were not disappointed. The pork chop parm was amazing. I don't think I have ever seen a pork chop that big. Our server, Brook, was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The rest of the staff was a pleasure. The servings were big and cooked to perfection and the prices were more than reasonable. I had the risotto, it was a huge portion. Tables are set too close together, we could hear everything happening at the tables around us and it was kind of distracting. My husband had breakfast pizza (he likes it) and I had spicy chicken Benedict. Then we shared the devils food bundt cake as desert( not as good as we thought). After waiting 20 minutes later than the reservation time I made TWO weeks in advance, we were finally stuck at a bar table, pretty much dining with the strangers sitting 8 inches away (since the people at the table I reserved in the dining room were "still enjoying their dessert"). Being that this was my belated Valentine's dinner for my mans, I was a little pissy pants about it... but this is a romantic dinner, so keep the positive attitude, right? Our server, David, was a very personable guy. He had a good attitude, answered some wine questions... all around no issues with him. We started out with drinks and two delicious apps. Calamari in a sweet chili(ish) sauce with pineapple and edamame, and the famous fried brussel sprouts. FOODGASM. So, as we're finishing up our apps (about an hour after we were seated at not-the-right-table) David comes over and repeats our food order; "you're gonna hate me, but i forgot to put the order in. I will definitely get it rushed, and your wine (we ordered wine after the initial drinks to compliment our steaks) is on me." Okay. Fine. He's really nice, I'm a server, we all make honest mistakes sometimes. Plus I'm full from the apps already, so some digestion time is cool. Then the food finally comes, probably about 20-25 minutes later. Looks delicious. I ordered the Filet Tournedos & Shrimp, which comes with sweet onion mashed pots, and garlicky spinach. The flavors were delicious. My boyfriend ordered the Beef tenderloin with asparagus and the same mashed potatoes. I cut into my meat and take a bite. It's pretty good. I think to myself "this is good, but definitely not the best filet I've had... wait a minute... i've never seen filet come in two separate flat pieces." Sure enough, i look across the table at boyfriend's plate. What's there? My frickin filet G-D it! FINE. I'm a push over. You screwed up my reservation. You forgot my food order. Then you brought the wrong food. Icing on the cake? The manager waited until we had our coats on and were walking out the door, and the literally came over and MUMBLED, "hey thanks for being patient about the food and stuff." Honesty, I would have been less insulted if he just hadn't come over at all. I LOOOOOOOOVED this restaurant the first time I went and had such a GREAT experience, but after this experience, and the experience my parents had last month at Lattitude, I will definitely think two or three or fifteen times before I recommend this place again. I couldn't decide between 3-4 stars, but since their menu hasn't changed in the 4-5 years I've been going here, and I only would eat one thing off the menu I'm going with three. Service is always great and the meal is very rarely messed up, my favorite is the Tenderloin as rare as possible. The appetizers we usually order are the Brussels with aioli, the calamari, or the beef tar tar. All have been on point, but at the prices they charge I expect them to be. Parking isn't the greatest. Would like to see some newer things on the menu. They're good for once or twice a year but that's about it. read more

I don't know where to begin. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Valley. I've been coming regularly since Chef Jeffrey opened up shop with a small dining space and cramped bar in a nondescript building located on the main drag through WestSide. Being along for the ride and witnessing the evolution from a small bistro serving food not typically found anywhere else around here into the destination it has become has been exciting. Latitude now offers an event hall, double the dining space than they started with and has a beautifully crafted patio space that features a gas fired firepit and live music when the weather is ideal. Despite the increase in table space, I still highly recommend getting a reservation, especially on prime evenings like Fridays or Saturdays. I've never had a bad meal here. Chef is a master at designing delicious fish based plates featuring Ahi Tuna, Swordfish or Salmon and also crafts some great beef and pork offerings. I absolutely love the Cider Brined bone-in pork chop. Beer snob grade: A to B+ depending on the evening. The draft menu and bottle list changes often. There's always something local available. When in doubt, Berkshire Brewing Steel Rail is a safe choice. They do carry Bud Light cans, but I think that's just as a joke. No one orders that swill. There's a broad array of girlie frou-frou martinis too as well as some top shelf liquors and cordials. I don't usually partake in those but you should be aware they exist. Latitude isn't a bad spot to stop at later in an evening, even if you didn't eat dinner here. One thing to note; this establishment is much nicer than most so please wear something a little nicer than the dirty jeans you spent all day wrenching on your Trans-Am or John Deere in. That's right, I'm looking in your direction mister less-than-classy patron from my last visit. Service here? Nothing short of first class. I don't believe any of the other reviews stating they had poor service. That's not in this place's repertoire. If you felt you had poor service, it's probably because you're an uppity so and so and you forgot servers are humans too. Sometimes mistakes happen. It goes without saying but I'll state it anyway just like everyone else has already...get the Brussels sprouts. If you can't agree this is one of the gems of the valley, I will fight you. We visited with a party of 8 recently and were pleased with food and service. We were given a private room just off the main dining room, which made our get together more special and intimate. Apps were outstanding, Brussels Sprouts just as good as usual. Burnt tip tacos were awesome. Meals were excellent. The Cajun scallop special was terrific. The food here is amazing. The chef is awesome and the wait staff is very personable. So why the 3 stars? Because of a few problems I've had with seating and hostessing. The people at the front of the restaurant have been confused about who's next and whether you have to put your name in for a table or seat at the bar. At one point, after a long wait and being told we had to put our names in for the next available seat, another patron strolled in, took our seat, and was not asked to move. The manager came over and apologized for the mix-up and offered to bring us a glass of wine while we waited for the "next" seat. Nice. Right? Well, it would've been if he hadn't then put the wine on our tab. Gee thanks. My advice is to go for lunch or when ti's not busy, because the wait and the confusion is just not worth the aggravation. read more

I've driven by this place several times on my way to visit a friend's spa to get my eyebrows done. It always looked like the people inside were having a good time chatting over wine and I am one who avidly loves to chat over wine. I finally got to go for the first time and enjoyed the food (fried brussel sprouts), the wine and the attentive service. Until... About half an hour into our visit, a large, obnoxiously loud, obnoxiously drunk crowd of over-45 entitled fancy pants people started to build in the bar area. Most of them must have already been drinking before they came here. You know how the drunker people get the louder their voices? Well, the women of this group talked in screeching, nails-on-chalkboard, high enough to break glass and make dolphins' ears bleed voices. Don't get me started on the drunken cackling that made me wince for the next hour. Now imagine a group of them about two feet behind you. Yeah...fun. At one point, one of the ladies was fully leaning on the back of my chair. I couldn't even sit fully in my chair because she apparently owned the back of my chair. Like her group thought they owned the bar. When I pulled her hand off the back of my chair, she loudly, obnoxiously (drunkenly) commented that I took her hand off the back of my chair. Oh my god, how dare I?! Yes, you snobby drunk witch. Your hand doesn't belong on the back of my chair. My back does. Another one of her friends yelled something obnoxious and I just ignored it, trying to have a nice night out even though there was screeching laughter and drunken loud antics going on two feet behind me. When we got there, it was nice and quiet. Then this crowd rolled in and we couldn't hear ourselves talk. Others sitting at the bar kept staring at this group. I had my back to them so I only had the expressions of other diners' faces to go by what was happening behind me. Everyone watching them looked disgusted. At one point, the server asked me if I wanted anything else. I had to ask her to repeat herself twice as I couldn't hear her over the drunken mob. I answered, "Yes. You can get rid of the loud obnoxious drunk crowd behind me." Lattitude: Epic Fail. Bounce the stupid drunk old people out of the bar so the rest of us can actually enjoy our frigging drinks and food in a semblance of peace. read more

Wow were our anniversary hopes ever dashed by this place. The tenderloin was overcooked the first time - very chewy (my girlfriends shrimp was incredibly chewy, as well - clearly a sign that our meals sat on the burners too long). The waitress was kind enough to have the steak remade, which was cooked more to my liking - but regardless the meat lacked something. It was still brown throughout, despite being on the rarer side. Frozen products, maybe? Not sure - not an expert on this, so maybe someone could enlighten me to why our food was so tough and steak such a dull, brown color. The lobster was also not tail meat - It's shredded - and also very chewy. They claimed to use a wine sauce, but it turned out to be more of a tasteless broth as it was incredibly watered down. The potato purée was overly filling and far too sweet. This meal lacked balance in each individual dish. Our server meant well, but did not offer us bread. The bus attendant was the one who realized we had no bread served, ultimately. Our waitress seemed very distracted, despite not being busy at all. Empty tables - empty bar stools, all across the restaurant. It even took far too long to serve our beer flights. Please, do not let the cost of the food convince you that this place is worth your hard earned money. There are better options - even in the Agawam / West Springfield area. I went to Lattitudes on Saturday night and my experience left alot to be desired. When we walked in I told the hostess that I had a gluten allergy and she informed that that they do not have a dedicated menu, however they can substitute things here and there to accommodate me. I informed my server of my allergy when we ordered our appetizers and he assured me they were prepared gluten free. We ordered the brussels sprout appetizer and some shrimp cocktail. They were both really good until I found some fried onion rings mixed in with the brussels sprouts. People with Celiac disease cannot eat anything that has been prepared in a fryolator with other wheat containing foods. It was too late though I had already eaten a good portion of it. It took us about 25 minutes to flag the waiter down. When I voiced my concern to the waiter about cross contamination he was hardly apologetic. He blamed the kitchen for being "really backed up" and then told me that other people with gluten allergies eat food out of the fryolator all the time there. He then told me he was going to bring some fresh ones out that were pan fried, then never did. So we ordered entree's and I ordered the cider brined french pork chop. It was pretty dry and very burnt on the top. My sister had the pork also but hers was cooked very differently and delicious. I would have liked to try something else that night, but they were out of the salmon, swordfish, osso bucco, and some other red meat. My family was upset I was exposed to gluten and that my meal was burnt so I decided to talk privately to a manager. I kindly asked the hostess who sat us if I could speak with a manager. She said "Sure I can get you a manager, what is this about?" I told her about my food concerns and then she said "Well actually I am a manager". This just seemed strange and unprofessional. Was she only a manager based on what type of problem I had? Also she asked me if I had gotten sick- which is completely BESIDES the point and really uncomfortable. It was pretty awkward the rest of the night. The waiter even kidded at one point "I'm batting 1000 tonight" cause he knew he kept messing up our orders. That being said, I think how they resolved my issue was good. They took the appetizer off our bill and gave me a free dessert. This is why I gave them 2 stars. read more

This place is way overpriced for what they offer. I have no problem spending a lot on eating out....but the quality of the food and the service must be consistent with the price I pay. That was not the case here. I did not like the fried brussel sprouts. they were dry and the sauce seemed to be a mix of russian dressing and mayo...kinda weak. I also had the swordfish, which was interesting, but not a wow....and cost $25 without any potato or vegetable. The brussel sprouts were $10, bringing the cost of my two item meal to $35. Thank goodness I chose water as my beverage. They were using a "team serve" approach, where one waiter took my order, and someone else brought my food. My waiter has a party in another room, and failed to check on me freqently enough to refill my water glass in a timely manner. i had the impression, as I have had on other occasions when I dine alone in fancy restaurants, that I was less important than other tables with more than one patron. Everyone was ultra polite and apologetic, but I still told them I could not see myself bringing anyone there to impress them. Still, they were busy on a Tuesday night, so good for them. I went in around 8pm on a Tuesday, thinking the place would be empty - not so much, actually quite the opposite, the place was full and people kept coming in. The inside of the restaurant just does not match the area of town it's located in, you would never guess. I went really basic, I didn't even have a drink (I was probably the only person in the whole place who didn't), but I was really pleased with the food. Good portion, well cooked, creative, beautiful food. The service was attentive but not overbearing. I'd definitely go back again and again. A note to the cost - at $22-30+/plate, this ranges to the more expensive places in town. But it's about on par with a hotel restaurant and the food is about a zillion times better. I managed to spend about $35 on just a salad and dinner - NO drinks, apps, dessert...for one person. read more

They can't make a Bloody Mary - the horseradish was not spicy but unpleasantly bitter. I ordered their Blackened Shrimp Brunch burrito and asked for avocado inside, they said they could do it, yet they didn't. Not just was there no avocado inside the burrito but there was no blackening on the shrimp, when inquired about it the waitress said the blackening goes in the burrito with the other ingredients, not the eggs. Was in town on a business trip and the hotel recommended a few different places locally. I was a little worried when the cab pulled up along a deserted street, with a gun club across from the restaurant, however I was very pleasantly surprised from the moment i stepped inside. My coworker and I said at the exact same time: "It smells soooo good in here" The menu has a good variety of steak and seafood dishes and changes frequently based on seasonal items. There are also several creative martini's. Our waitress suggested the fried Brussels sprouts which were absolutely FABULOUS with the delicious chilie aioli!!! The Traditional seafood paella was delicious and loaded with large scallops, shrimp, mussels, clams. The rice was cooked perfectly, and not mushy. My coworker tried the beef tournedos and shrimp (their version of surf and turf) and the shrimp and steak were also cooked spot on. All side dishes were made with really fresh quality ingredients and complemented beautifully. I had lunch here with my husband. The meal was overall, "nice". Atmosphere was very relaxing and the bartender/server was very kind and helpful. The food fell a tad short. For appetizers we ordered were the Beet Salad-very good, and the gnocchi. We both love gnocchi and we're a little disappointed that the duck confit wouldn't be in the dish (on the menu), but the chef was kind enough to give us a larger portion. The cream sauce was a little heavy, more like an entree, but it had a good flavor. However, the gnocchi fell apart very easily and weren't very smooth in texture. Our absolute favorite homemade gnocchi is at Johnnys Tavern in Amherst and unfortunately it didn't compare to theirs. For our lunch entrees I ordered the braised beef and pimento cheese sandwich-very tasty-with their soup of the day which was a beef taco chowder. The chowder was Luke warm and neither of us cared for the bland taco seasoning taste. My boyfriend ordered the fried chicken sandwich which was very bland-could not taste the siracha and very little kimchee on it. His fries were supposed to have spicy seasoning and were not spicy at all. P.s. I can not stand when a chef won't provide salt and pepper on the table. I enjoy a lot of pepper and many enjoy too much salt but to each their own. Let people have the option. read more

I had a wonderful dinner here last week. I found Lattitude on Yelp and I am so glad I did... this review will be updated later this week when I go back. My first visit... I was blown away with their customer service. Immediately when I walked in I was greeted. I sat at the bar and just about every server that walked past said hello and asked if I was doing OK... I also saw them do this with other patrons so I know they weren't flirting with me. When I first arrived and looked around the restaurant is very modern and clean. The crowd was a little older but as the night progressed it was varied with 30 somethings to older. I wasn't very hungry so I kept my meal light. I had their hand clipped organice greens salad and it was so delicious. Although I am not a fan of lettuce, this was a good variety of greens. It had warm goat cheese, apples, walnuts and a wine vinagrette, probably my favorite one of the best salads I've ever had. As a second course I had the mushroom and artichoke risotto. I was a little dissapointed that they took a little long after I finished my salad but they were definitely busy and the risotto was fresh so I can assume they had just made it. The mushrooms were a wonderful compliment, however I was not crazy about the artichokes. The taste was a bit too tart and it didn't quite dance on my toungue. I think I would order it again minus the artichokes. For dessert I had the special cheesecake, with a lemon girl scout cookie crust. It was good but not over the moon delicious. Like I said before, their service was amazing and I am inclined to go back again this week but this time I will try something new.
