Tonkatsu ramen.
Michael W.

I came here noodle-ing around for a good bowl, and while Laughing Buddha filled the bowl, it didn't quite fill my soul. I tried the tonkotsu ramen, which came loaded with four slices of char siu pork plus bamboo shoots, green onions, and black mushrooms in a creamy pork broth. Everything looked great, and it wasn't bad at all. It was comforting after wandering the Strip all day. That said, for a city overflowing with great ramen joints just off-strip, this bowl didn't quite rise to the top. It's good in a pinch, especially if you're already at Proper Eats and craving something warm and savory, but if you're a ramen aficionado like me, you'll know that the real ramen magic lives off the beaten path. Laughing Buddha is worth a try if you're staying at the Aria. Just don't make this place a destination for your culinary adventures.

We visit Vegas often and have eaten at Proper Eats food hall a few times. This was my first time trying Laughing Buddha and it was delicious. It was fresh, hot and full of flavor.

$16. SMH. Biggest waste. I would rather spend $16 on a quarter pounder. Meat taste old. The whole thing is sad!!!

Located in the Aria Hotel on the 2nd floor above the casino level in the food hall Proper Eats. The chill in the air made it a good day to have some ramen. Great service and plenty of seating throughout Proper Eats which used to be the old Aria Buffet.

Dining at Proper Eats Food Hall, I decided I wanted some ramen. I ordered one using the QR code and after paying, I made my way to the counter. The workers were all super nice especially the guy making my Ramen. Seemed like he was from Hawaii. I ordered the Miso Ramen (asked for Al Dente Noodles) added Pork Belly (Char Siu Pork.) The soup was delicious. I enjoyed every slurp. The char siu was nice and tender too. Not sure why the Miso Ramen didn't already have protein like the Tonkotsu. I also ordered it with no mushrooms. I did enjoy the bamboo. Great spot if you want a quick fix on the strip.

Conveniently Located inside Proper Eats Food Hall! (12/21/24)

Easy and quick it was to order from Laughing Buddha inside Aria's Proper Eats Food Hall. Organized and polished was their kitchen. Though expected in Vegas, still quite expensive was their satisfying "Tonkotsu Ramen Bowl" with acceptable slurping ramen, tasty char siu pork, and, a good added marinated egg served in a delicious pork broth! CHEERS!

Soooo so yummy. Honestly, with some food halls (especially in casinos!) I go in with low expectations, but both experiences at the Proper Eats food hall were great. This ramen blew me away. You order from a big screen at the entrance of the hall, and you get to select from the different restaurants. Service was super quick, as soon as I found a table it was ready. The seating arrangement was appropriate, and it was easy to have a nice dinner conversation in the middle of the casino. At first glance I thought, hmm, it looks a little plain. I did not do too many add ons other than an egg, which was absolutely worth it. The broth was perfectly seasoned, and I appreciated that it was not overly greasy or salty. The meat was soft and tender. The egg was sooo yummy, I honestly regret not getting another. The noodles were great too. I actually shared this ramen because it was huge, and even then we both ended with very happy tummies. I will definitely be back.

For all the Asian clientele that Vegas entertains, and for how ramen has currently become a "hot" culinary item, there are only a few ramen choices on the Strip. Based on reviews & pricing, this Asian spot in Aria's food hall seemed to have potential. We ordered the Tonkatsu ramen and at $18, the bowl was fairly large and had 3 thinly sliced pieces of cha siu pork. Also included were shreds of wood ear (fungi), bamboo shoots & scallions. Noodle was plentiful with good al dente texture and the broth flavor, while muted, was OK. Our expectations were not high given this is basically food court food. While the dish was OK, stars downgraded due to high price, limited menu, and no soft-cooked egg (w/o additional cost). The food ordering was easy and the ambiance of the food hall was modern & roomy.

According to their website, "Laughing Buddha is the home of steamy, delectable ramen noodles and breathtaking broths." So what did we order? Pork belly bao buns because we don't listen, apparently. Pork belly bao bun ($13 - served with pickled cucumbers and hoisin sauce): Thinly sliced pork belly nestled in a squishy warm bread with a crisp pickled cucumber and a thick, fragrant sauce? Heck yeah! You really can't go wrong with pork belly bao buns and at this price tag, it's decent. Laughing Buddha is a place that I wouldn't mind trying again but with such great ramen spots around town, it's hard to dedicate stomach real estate space for Laughing Buddha. I would rather go off strip and get some noodz.

Nastiest bowl of ramen I've ever had

You've got to be kidding me. I don't know how this place has 4 stars. Did we just get 3 bad bowls of ramen??? It was the worst we've had! It literally tasted like water and noodles with zero flavoring. The instant noodles I make at home were much better. We tried to suck it up and had a few bites but even that was difficult. We had to send it back. Yuck.

This is a ramen place in Proper Eats food hall in Aria. It was really great in a pinch when I was craving something warm and soupy but it wasn't the more flavorful ramen ever. However, there is tons of seating available at proper eats which was nice.

tonkatsu ramen and pork belly bao bun: solid meal
Josh B.

Decent ramen spot located in the Proper Eats Food Hall in the Aria. Came here for dinner on a Monday night and the food hall wasn't too packed. My friend and I shared the Tonkatsu Ramen and an order of the Pork Belly Bao Bun. The ramen was pretty good, not the best ramen but it hit the spot. The bao buns were pretty solid. The most crazy thing about the meal was the fact that the fountain drink was $8. Make sure you get as many refills on your way out to make it your moneys worth. Overall decent spot! Lots of other options in the food hall too so a great option for a group of people.

Recently stayed at Aria and was excited to try out the Proper Eats Food Hall. I was intrigued by the store name and was excited to see a ramen shop because I love trying out tonkotsu everywhere I go. Because I was staying at the hotel, I ordered via the in-room tablet (which was really just a QR code to mobile order) and I charged it to my room. They gave me an estimated time of completion but was surprised that they finished it in half the time. While I certainly enjoy getting my meals early, I feel that if it wasn't sitting out for so long the temperature would have been perfect. In terms of flavor, the tonkotsu richness is there but not as creamy and thick as I would have liked. The noodles were also thick but cooked appropriately. I personally didn't like that they were stuck together as they typically are blanched together to keep their shape whenever they're being portioned out for orders. One thing I will say is that they did not skimp on the pork slices. It was certainly the most I have ever gotten in EVERY ramen shop I've been to in my lifetime so I very much appreciated that. Bamboo shoots were great. Everything was great. Overall they get a solid 4/5. I think if you're looking for moderately priced food this is a great option and I look forward to trying the rest of their menu out in the future. (20/50--2024)

This has to be the most half-hearted and tasteless ramen I've ever had. I honestly don't understand why Aria keeps this restaurant.

For an entrée, I ended up ordering the beef bulgogi, and it was excellent. The beef was super flavorful, tender, and cooked really well! It was a perfect sweet and savory balance you want from bulgogi! My husband went with one of the ramen bowls, and it looked amazing too! The broth smelled rich and comforting, and from what he said, the flavor definitely delivered! The service was amazing! Everyone was super friendly, attentive, and welcoming! The food also came out pretty quickly too! Ramen Tatsu ended up being a great dinner stop. Delicious food, fantastic service, and an amazing atmosphere. I'd stop by here again for a ramen bowl!

The takoyaki had a nice crisp to it; they seem on the smaller side, and there could've been a little more filling. I got the tonkatsu shoyu, and it was okay. I added an egg, but it was overcooked, so that was disappointing.

Fortunately, the wait was only about 10 minutes, which was surprisingly quick. I ordered the soft-shell crab, baked green mussels, and BBQ ribs with steamed rice. My son ordered the yoshu ramen and fried rice. The food came out fairly quickly, but I noticed that the baked mussels never arrived. When I asked our waitress about it, she said the kitchen was backed up. However, after waiting more than 30 minutes and already finishing the rest of our meal, it felt like the order may have simply been forgotten. What disappointed me most was the lack of an apology. The waitress even asked if I still wanted the mussels at that point. I was ready to cancel the order, but Kyo stepped in and tried to make things right. Thanks to his efforts, the mussels arrived about 10 minutes later. Unfortunately, when the mussels finally arrived, I was disappointed again. They were prepared very differently from the baked green mussels I'm used to getting at restaurants in Los Angeles. They were quite spicy, which wasn't mentioned, and the flavor just wasn't what I expected. After waiting more than 40 minutes for them, they definitely weren't worth the wait. Overall, the food was decent, and the restaurant was busy and energetic, but the service mishap and the disappointing mussels left me with mixed feelings about the experience. I do appreciate Kyo's effort to make things right, as he was the one bright spot in an otherwise frustrating situation.
