Came here as a group of four on a weekday night and had no issue being seated. We ordered a variety of plates and drinks. I got the shogun (vodka, umeshu, corn silk tea, buttered rinse, kokuto black sugar and lemon), which had the most unique silky texture! The flavor was good and different but nothing crazy. All the food we got was delicious as well, with the braised lamb pizza and duck fried rice being my favorites, though we also tried the spicy salmon tartare, apple and endive salad, and short-rib pappardelle (runner-up favorite). I'm docking a star because this place is exorbitantly expensive for what it is, even for LA, in my opinion. If it was maybe 20% cheaper, I would return! Initially had some issues with seating where they seated us (party of 4) at a table that was only suited for a party of 3. One of the main hostesses was able to quickly fix the issue by moving us to a larger, comfortable booth (thank you for that!) The dishes we ordered to share: - Truffle Fries: Super crispy. Well seasoned with truffle and Parmesan. 5/5 - Spicy Salmon Tartare: A bit fishy in my opinion. The dressing was decent. I think it would be better with a citrus dressing. 3/5 - Chicken Wings: Standard, although the wings were a bit dry. Parmesan garlic paired well. 3.5/5 - Short-Rib Pappardelle: the winner of the night! You can tell the pasta was made fresh in house. The pasta itself was so thin that it really soaked in the flavor. The short rib was really tender and well seasoned. 5/5 - Margherita Pizza: oven-fired pizza. Can't go wrong with Margherita! The ratio of sauce and cheese were great. 5/5 - Duck Fried Rice: a little heavy on the seasoning/salt but still a great rice dish. From the outside, looks like nothing more than a closed hardware shop, but the inside is beautiful. They have a large covered and uncovered patio in the back. I'd definitely recommend making reservations, but plenty of bar seating for small parties. Their menu rotates a little throughout the year, but everything is tasty. From the beautiful ambiance at night with the lit up trees, intimate setting and the heaters to keep us toasty, this place hit every box. I used to love Laurel Hardware and recommended it to friends all the time, but sadly this visit was such a letdown. We walked in on a slow Sunday afternoon and the hostess completely ignored us while joking around with the other staff. We just stood there awkwardly until she finally decided to acknowledge us. Not exactly the welcome you hope for. The food didn't redeem the experience either. The pizza came out soggy and so greasy I had to let it drip onto my plate before taking a bite just to avoid ruining my clothes. The crispy rice chicken salad was overdressed but still bland, and the chicken was dry. The only saving grace was the salmon crispy rice. We sat out on the patio (which really is beautiful), but the bug situation was out of control. I get that outdoor dining means the occasional fly, but this was next-level. One literally dive-bombed my forehead, and by the time we left my boyfriend and I were both covered in mosquito bites. Our server was attentive and did his best, but between the hostess, the food misses, and the insect invasion, this just wasn't the Laurel Hardware I used to rave about. Our first time there and a happy surprise! The patio is beautiful, the staff is welcoming, pleasant, and very attentive. The food was very good. We had the cheeseburger, the BLT and the crispy rice salad and we all enjoyed. I'm not a fries lover but the ones served with the burger were surprisingly good. The cocktails were excellent and I'm delighted to say that the bartender gives a solid pour. It's not your typical WeHo brunch, watered down drink. And last of all, the musical selection was good - not the normal, screeching Euro disco trash that normally blares through most of the brunch spots around here. It would be more of a 4.5 then a 5. At first I was going to give a 3 because it took so long to get our orders in after we got our drinks but then I noticed it was because the waiter (johnathan, I think) was really taking care of all the tables. He was making sure everyone was taken care of. It was pretty dark we were all struggling to see the menu and the booth tables were very low. The food was 10/10.
