This dinner was amazing here. Definitely loved the ambiance and vibe of the spot. Amazing aesthetic and visually pleasing. We came in our anniversary to celebrate in our server Kennedi brought us champagne to toast with. This would be one of our new favorite spots. I can't express enough how amazing the interior design and aesthetic is.

Bryan our server was great! So kind and attentive! The venue was very nice, vibe was great! Music was in point! However our toddler size table was not it. Drinks and appetizers can not fit on the table. The menus are half the size of the table! I realized from a business your trying to maximize your space. However from a consumer I don't like the size of the tables at all. I will not sit in that section if we ever return. The food was OK nothing to brag about. I had great expectations being carribean this didn't give me carribean anything. Stick to your roots dont be afraid to use spice and seasoning from the carribean.

Ate here to celebrate a career win. Lovely service, AMAZING FOOD!!!! Great music and ambiance, if a little loud for dinner conversation. Bread was fantastic. Lamb knocked it out of the park. Will absolutely be coming back.

Okay... cutest aesthetic. Usually when a place is this much of a vibe, the food ends up being compromised, but not here. We were a little hesitant after hearing mixed reviews, so we decided to try it for ourselvesand I'm so glad we did. First, our server Leon was everything. Amazing energy, gave great recommendations, and truly made the whole experience. The decor is minimal but classy, dim without being too dark, and the DJ really set the tone, old school R&B and hip hop with a mix of newer hits. We ordered the crudo, Caesar salad, and the wagyu empanada (which was packed with meat). For entrées, we had the roasted fish and ribeye steak, everything was really good. Such a cute spot for date night or a girls' night out. Honestly, I'd even come back just to sit at the bar for apps and drinks.

I was in with some of my closest girlfriends this past weekend to celebrate a special birthday. We had a beautiful customer experience from our arrival at the front door to our departure. Our server, Lauren, was absolutely exceptional! A phenomenal and very knowledgeable team member who helped us curate our night perfectly. Now, let's get into the meal. We had a vegetarian and two pescatarians in our group. They were quite pleased that they were not limited to a salmon or branzino dish :). The special BHM menu offered a uniquely prepared catfish-and-grits entrée that was deeply satisfying. We enjoyed that, as well as the cornbread gnudi, amazing callaloo and polenta sides, wagyu and aloo patties, the Jamaican bun, caesar salad, and a gorgeous chow mein. We each enjoyed the most delightful craft cocktails (jungle bird, tamarind collins, and a beautiful white wine) that were spirited and satisfying - and enough to keep the vibes high for the duration of our visit. Lauren also threw in a round of coconut rum shots in honor of the birthday girl. Such a generous and thoughtful touch! I can't wait to return for my birthday in a few weeks. It's rare to experience a dynamic meal, with equally wonderful service, all while basking in beautifully designed space with a soundscape (a fabulous live DJ) that seemed curated to a tee! You have something special there, Lucia!

The ambiance and vibes is def what people come here for. I think this place is great for a drinks because the drinks are good and the atmosphere is amazing. But food wise I give it a 3/5. We got the Jamaican patty, cat fish and grits, Jamaican bun, coconut crudo, duck curry, and pasteleon. Let's start off with the favorites. I really enjoyed the duck. It was seasoned really well and really juicy. I was imagining a curry like stew but it was more like a sauce. But it def added a lot to the duck making it flavorful. I liked the patty, the wagu was tender and the pastry containing the wagu was soft and crunchy. You would bite into it and experience the crunch but it was soft in the inside. I liked the bun it was soft and fluffy but was taken aback by the raisins. Still the bun was a fav of the night. Now let's get into the other dishes. I felt like the catfish was okay. It was soft fish and crunchy but nothing memorable. The pasteleon was like a lasagna I felt like it was a little bland and needed more tomato or spice. Personally I think the crudo was my least favorite. I wasn't a fan of the coconut sauce they used. Overall I think it's great for a one time dining experience. It's a pretty restaurant, however I don't need to come back again. Parking is hard to find. I ended up valetting my car it was about $13 and $16 with card.

    Fish Roast and Callaloo

Secured a reservation for a Friday evening for a night out with my parents, and it was bustling! Located on a quieter part of Fairfax, this restaurant has a small sign and is somewhat unassuming on the outside but opens into a moody, alluring, luxurious and spacious interior with multiple dining areas of tables, booths, and bar seating. We dined on aloo patties, plantains, fish roast, brown stew risotto, Havana nights beans and callaloo. All the dishes certainly had an elevated twist to classic Caribbean cuisine and were packed with flavor and spice! The patties weren't at all greasy, which was great, and were paired with a delicious chili garlic sauce. The maduros plantains were cooked well, and the plantain chips were super thin and crisp. The main dishes were also tasty but I found the fish to be a tad dry and tough. The risotto is on the heavier side, so that one might be better for sharing. The beans were a flavorful black beans. My favorite though was the callaloo side, which was packed with greens. Overall, we had a great dinner at Lucia. It is quite rare to see a fine dining establishment highlight Caribbean cuisine at this level, and Lucia does a fantastic job.

Absolutely beautiful place. Can't even begin to say how deliciously amazing this spot is. Lives up to all the hype (food, drink, and service)! Yes, there's a bit of a dress code and yes, there are some younger party girls that get a lil loud. But hell, let them girls live they life! Sit yo party pooping self in the back, there are quiet corners. LOL Come in on a Saturday fresh from the museum, no reservation, dressed super casual. We asked for permission to dine anyhow (they had just opened, so we would be out before the big steppers came in). We were seated in a quiet, tucked away spot behind the bar which was APPRECIATED so we wouldn't be shamed by patrons who came dressed to impress. I really wish I remembered baby boy's name (just remember he from the DR), but our server was impeccable! Charming, knowledgeable, and shaped a perfect dining experience for us. Every thing we ate was phenomenal in flavor, layered! Every drink was perfectly balanced, shout out to the bartender, she did her damn thang! What took me aback was the reasonable prices. I am very thankful for that because I can come back without hesitation. It's so sad that Fairfax looks like a ghost town, but Lucia is keeping it alive. Go. Now! Make a resy. Get dressed and call ya bestie. Or me LOL THE FOOD Plantain Express: sir. I don't what this wonderful concoction is but it was slammin! Tamarind Cesar Salad: OMG game changer. Absolutely loved and destroyed this. Trini-Chinese Chicken: Tasted better than I anticipated, was the least favorite of our order but please, it's HELLA good. And moist. Flavors, layered! And don't be fooled by the green ketchup, I would actively put that on everything. Green Fig-Leaf Fish: Moment of silence for the best thing I put in my mouth in 2026. Arroz Con Frijoles: I mean. First off. Who don't love a good rice and peas. And babyyyy! These were hella good. I would actively slide through just for these as a quick snack mid day. Guava and Cheese Pastelitise: Ah, yeah. They are better than Porto's. Not sorry. THE DRANKS Tamarind Collins: Sounds hella weird, like, why is there beer in this. But don't not try it cause it was a surprisingly well balanced - drink that I drank up! Soursop Paloma: So good it'll make you wanna slap yo mama. I can never have a regular degular Paloma again. Lucia, y'all may need to figure out how to can this one and sell 4-packs, cause I'm buying two ta'go fasho! The ambience, decor is absolutely stunning. Somehow minimalist, classy, and flashy. Clean restroom with an attendant. Yes, they handed me a towel and I felt bad not having cash to tip, but this was a nice touch. Made me feel a bit special and fancy. Parking...well, it's Fairfax. Street parking only. Although it's dead still may be a little difficult to find something "in front" so be prepared to walk a block or two in ya heels girlfriend (unless your date drop you off in front as they should cause you one bad mama jamma and deserve royalty treatment!) Ugh! Can't wait to return.

Food selection. The fish was the best!

Marcos did an amazing job ensuring that our party of 8 had the perfect evening. He made perfect suggestions for food and beverage. Excellent service. Delicious Food. Perfect ambience. When chef Cleo came to visit our table the night was perfect.

I don't know about this one... this restaurant was very over-hyped and ended up being a total letdown. We had a 6:00 PM reservation. Our waiter didn't take our order (both appetizers and entrées) until about 6:20 PM, we didn't receive our appetizers until 7:00 PM, and our entrées finally came out around 7:15 PM. That wait alone set the tone for the night. I'll be honest, those folks on TikTok are lying. The food is plated beautifully, but it was extremely bland. No flavor at all. For appetizers, I ordered the wagyu beef patty ($9) and the Jamaican bun ($15). The patty was the only thing I actually liked, although it was very small for the price. The bun tasted more like a cinnamon raisin bagel than anything else. It was just okay. For my entrée, I ordered the Green Fig-Leaf Fish Roast (naranja agria, bell peppers caldo, lime caviar). It was a white fish dish that looked gorgeous on the plate, but again, no seasoning and no wow factor. It seriously lacked flavor. The cocktails were also disappointing. I had the lychee margarita, and it honestly tasted like juice. Aesthetically, the restaurant is beautiful. However, the layout is strange. Depending on where you're seated, you can feel completely isolated from the rest of the restaurant. We were seated in a back corner and couldn't even see the dining room, our only view was the side of the bar, which made the experience feel disconnected and awkward. As for parking, valet is basically your only option ($15). Street parking is nonexistent. Service was poor. Our waiter was polite, but not attentive at all and barely checked on us throughout the meal. Overall, don't come hungry. The portions are small, the food is overpriced, and the flavor just isn't there. The space is pretty, but unfortunately, good aesthetics can't make up for slow service and very underwhelming food. FYI: At the bottom of the menu it reads, "Blink and it might be gone. Our menu is always moving. No set menu. No promises except good food and vibez!" So if you're coming to Lucia because of something you saw on TikTok or Instagram, don't rely on that. The menu changes constantly, and there's a good chance the dishes you're expecting won't be available. I'm not sure why the menu rotates so often. And it definitely matters if you're visiting for specific items you've seen online.

I couldn't think of a place to celebrate my birthday dinner this past weekend. Nothing really jumped out at me and I didn't really want to revisit somewhere I've already been (not that there's anything wrong with that), but I just wanted to experience something new. A friend of mine sent me an IG reel of Lucia and it came in clutch! Our party was half an hour early, so we decided to start dinner off with some drinks at the bar. While I'm at it, I'll just go into detail regarding the other cocktails I had too. Their cocktail game definitely needs some improvement, but it's not terrible. Espresso Martini: Acceptable, but nothing more. Nothing special and a little too acrid. I've had much better elsewhere. Tamarind "Collins": Sounded great on paper, but taste-wise? Nothing memorable. I enjoy mezcal, but I couldn't detect any of the other ingredients that were in this drink. I had this weird black "plastic" looking thing in my drink... My drunk ass nibbled on the edge of it out of curiosity and I coulda sworn it was plastic to be honest. But who knows? It was dark and I was drunk-ish, but the interesting this is that none of the ingredients listed for this cocktail would've resembled the mysterious black plastic thing in my drink. Soursop "Paloma": Idk I was buzzing hard by this point so I don't really remember much since I just finished the drink in one pull lol. Nothing really stood out. The white pepper was what interested me though. For food we ordered the: Jamaican Bun: Must order!! Fluffy, dense, but soft and buttery. The whipped butter was good, but the pineapple mostarda was the way to go. The little flakey pieces of salt went really well with the bread. Wagyu Beef Patty: Pretty good, but fell apart easily. The beef was a bit dry though. The red sauce that came with it was good. Island Milk & Gold Crudo: I like crudo, but this was a hard pass for me purely for preferential reasons. I don't like coconut cream or flavored things whether it's natural or artificial. I'll eat the fruit all day though. I'm weird, maybe don't listen to me. Brown Stew Risotto: At first I thought we got a plate of beans since it was dark, but it was REALLY good! Again, maybe you shouldn't listen to me because I hate mushrooms, but there's mushrooms in this and I didn't mind because I didn't notice it. I keep contradicting myself! Haitian Wagyu Tasso: A little bummed that they didn't have their oxtails, but our server recommended this since it was comparable. It was alright, but like the pattys, the meat was dry. Overall the drinks are a 3/5 and the food is a 4/5. The flavors are there, but some of the food was salted a little too heavily and that's coming from someone whose palate leans towards salty/savory. However, in the vibes/decor/service department, Lucia gets an easy 5/5 without a doubt. The dim lighting, the music selection, the look/feel of the place is perfect. I love the loungey/clubby vibe. Some people were complaining about how loud it is in their reviews, but I thought it was perfect. If this was too loud for you, perhaps you should consider dining at your local library instead. Sure, I had to raise my voice to get people to hear me, but I never had to yell. Lucia was a lot smaller than I thought, but they made really excellent use of the space. It's so nice inside. Very photo op worthy. Seating was comfortable (we sat at a booth in the corner). Lastly, the service was great! Kennedy was friendly, professional, and made sure my group and I were doing okay throughout our meal. Would I come back? Sure. Initially I was very wary due to the fact that it was one of those places "influencers" and "content creators" were pushing heavily on social media, but it turned out to be pretty good. I'd skip on the cocktails though.

Had this restaurant on the radar since it opened up and finally took the opportunity to visit. Very nice place, solid ambiance inside and staff were wonderful. Had a reservation and we were seated right away, so proceeded right to the drink menu. Started off with a couple cocktails, the Jungle Bird, Pina Colada, Taro sky juice and one other. The Jungle Bird was flavorful, had a nice passion fruit flavor the came through. The Pina colada is made with tequila, so much different than your normal Pina Colada, and it's almost like a clarified pineapple coconut emulsion along with chartreuse. Feel it was just more coconut forward, with only a hint of the pineapple. The taro sky juice was interesting, if you're into Taro. Grabbed a tropical Mai Tai which was interesting and pleasant as well. For food, we had to try multiple items to get a good sense of the cuisine, so we started with Jamaican bun, the Wagyu pattys, and the isn't milk and cold crudo. The buns were very soft, and came with cheddar butter and a mustard. The butter is definitely the move, though the mostarda was interesting as well. The crudo tasted very fresh and was a nice bite while the Wagyu pattys, while having a nice., flaky crust on the outside, tasted underwhelming overall. We ordered a side of coconut rice to go with the entrees which was also on the underwhelming side. Speaking of the entrees, we tried a few. The Haitian Wagyu tasso was very tender, great flavor and a solid entree. The green fig leaf fish, on the other hand, while cooked well, felt like it was missing something to make it stand out. The finish entree was the Paseleon, a Wagyu pasta with pecorino cheese and bechamel sauce. Definitely felt a little off in how it for with the other items on the menu, but the flavor was decent but not memorable. Overall, nice restaurant with great staff and a vibe of is I'm. There's also a DJ that starts a little later in the night which couldn't upped the experience. Not sure if the DJ is there every night, night check ahead. If you're going, definitely try the Jamaican buns and the crudo, as well as the short rib, and the cocktails worked, so drink away!

The restaurant is beautiful and reminds me of being in Mexico. A Spanish theme and style. A lot of seating and it's also spacious with an outdoor patio that is open to the customers and also widely used for many event. Everything was clean from what I noticed. The music volume was tolerable as well as the selection of choice. Felt like I was on vacation for a min. A great spot to have drinks. A great to spot to meet up or even come for a date. The Melrose Mule was cool. Very refreshing like the bartender mentioned. It was different than the usual mules I get. And the Improved Whiskey was like having an Old Fashion and Whiskey Sour together. It did not disappoint. I also had an attentive bartender who had a good attitude. Didn't take long for him to make my drinks nor put in an order for a smash burger. The smash burger was acceptable. It was good, however, I was expecting something a little bit bigger in size. I like the presentation with it being wrapped in foil. It was cooked perfectly, it was hot and flavorful. No complaints other than the size. I wouldn't mind pulling back up for another happy hour when I'm back in the area. They have some more drinks I would love to try.

The bar staff know what they are doing and they are welcoming, chatty and chill. It feels like they actually want you there! My wife and I already love to swing by for a couple of post dinner drinks but we'll be back for some game day fun too - they have a bunch of screens. They don't do food BUT the couple who now own Her Little Bar also own a bunch of the restaurants nearby (Her Thai, Met Him At A Bar, and the recently opened The Night We Met). There are other great options too and whatever you go for, you can eat it in the bar. There's a good selection of drinks and the cocktails are solid. We already have a solid pub/microbrewery but this is a great bar with a different vibe. A bar has been in this location for years but we really love this new incarnation. The corridor between Wilshire Blvd and W 9th is becoming a great pocket for food and drink with good people looking for BS free good times and the Her Little Bar crowd, staff and management are a great example that. A welcome addition to the neighborhood.

You have to let your eyes adjust because it's quite dim inside, but adorned with lots of colorful lighting. It's usually reservation only but I called ahead to see if they had availability for us to pop in and luckily they had room for us. Everyone here is so friendly and seems to love what they do. Our bartender was Shane and he was wonderful and really made our experience memorable. Zeke was the other bartender who was great as well. We ordered a Painkiller and a Captain's Inner Circle. Each drink comes in its own unique cup/glass and has such a fun presentation. The painkiller was presented to us with some fire elements and the captain's inner circle was hilarious - they ring a bell and all the workers join in on saying you're a part of the inner circle. Now the taste. Both of the drinks were delicious! We love a painkiller and this one definitely didn't disappoint, it totally hit the spot. I also loved the inner circle drink, it was coconutty and had fruity elements like apricot in it. There are so many drinks on their menu, we wish we could try them all! We'll have to come back next time to try more. They also have food but we didn't have time to try any dishes this time.

Please stop it with the gimmicky flare, smoke and song and focus on making better tasting drinks. I ordered a Painkiller and it was stuffed with charred cinnamon sticks and a lime on fire that made my drink taste awful. They staff were nice enough to comp my drink, but to be honest the drinks are never good or balanced. There are much better tiki bars in LA, and I recommend you go elsewhere for a really good cocktail.

The ambiance is pretty cool - sort of reminded me of the Portrait Bar in NYC with the paintings (albeit upside down). The lighting was the right amount of dim but not dark, and the acoustics were great - you can hear across the table. Ordered 5 different drinks between the two of us (no clue what the names are, sorry!): - a strawberry martini type drink - cocktail with fresh peaches - a tropical rum drink - a smoky whisky cocktail - a coconut rum drink Everything was on point delicious, nothing too sweet or boozy - thing the fresh fruit and herbs help quite a bit in not making something too sugary. Would definitely recommend!

It's dark but has warm lighting and really cool decor such as upside down stools and fireplaces on the ceiling. My bartenders Matt & Kelsey were super friendly & made some fire drinks. The menus are aesthetic to look at because drinks are categorized by type of liquor, each drink described in detail and each description is accompanied by a picture of what the drink is supposed to look like. However, there is no food menu just alcoholic drinks. I found parking across the street where the CVS & WholeFoods are located. I didn't have any issues, but I only parked there for about 2 hours. Right before I left, the bartenders helped me discover a secret entrance to the bar next door. When you walk in you'll notice a bookshelf, if you slide that bookshelf to the right, you'll open the entrance to the bar next door. Pretty cool! Will definitely come back again.
