Nathan is great and has been cutting my hair for several years now. I've been to many different shops/salons, including those that say they "specialize in haircuts for guys"-- you know, sports hype, espn magazines everywhere, making it look like a locker room, etc. The only problem with those shops are that you never know who you are going to get and they can be described as one word--INCONSISTENT. Nathan, on the other hand gives you exactly what you want and most of all, he remembers YOU. He is the classic definition of customer service and brings the 'classic gentleman's barber' back in vogue once again. He is one of a kind guy that cares about his customers and is CONSISTENT EVERY TIME. If you're a dad with a young son (and I'm sure if you have a daughter as well) , I highly recommend this place as a great 'rite of passage' to a timeless classic, the barber shop. We need more of these kinds of neighborhood, classic barbershops that are built on honesty, hard work, relationships and a sense of distinguished style that seems to be forgotten. By the way, he's very affordable as well. There's an old adage I recall about the titanic-- The titanic was all about hype, glitz, and show. The iceberg was about substance. How lucky am I? I just moved here recently from North Carolina. I drove by this barber shop many times and saw the barber flag outside. Every time I drove by I always thought I should stop in here and get a haircut, as I needed to find a new barber in Seattle. The first time I stopped in after work, Linda cut my hair. My hair has never looked so DAMN good! She definitely knew what she was doing. I am very fussy with my hair, she made me feel comfortable as soon as I walked through the door. When I sat in her chair she was very nice and professional. I still can't believe I got a damn fine haircut. I thought it would take me several different barber shops to find the right barber for me. Now I will continue to see Linda every month and refer my coworkers to her. read more

It was so relaxing and peaceful getting my haircut here . I had been going to another barbershop down the street but there were always too many kids being loud and obnoxious all the time and the parents could not and would not control their kids. Im just glad I tried out Laurelhurst Barbershop . They mainly just do mens haircuts, which is why I will be back . Also I really like the straight razor neck shave after the haircut, and like the fact that they have Playboy magazines! Anyways, so if you are a guy thats wants to get a good haircut without being around a bunch of kids, I highly recommend this shop . Also the barber that cleaned me up was Linda. She does good work. I've been to see Nathan and his crew a few times now and am very impressed with the cuts and conversation had. Small town neighborhood vibe. I came in the first time and got a trim before I realized they were cash only. The barber let me run to an atm and come back no problem. The cut was great but overnight my hair settled and got a little poofy (not uncommon for my hair), I decided to check back in the next morning and Nathan cleaned it up without question. I've since been a couple times without any issues. 5 stars to me would be a perfect 10/10 so I had to give them 4. Good experience and good looking hair. read more

I moved back to Seattle in May. I stumbled across this barber shop just by chance. My wife and I walked in and Nathan took me right in. He gave me the best haircut I have ever had. I look forward to every few weeks getting my haircut. Nathan makes me feel like family. He is a great person with a gigantic heart. We laugh and have a great time every time I visit. My two boys and I have been going to Nathan and his team at the 95th Street Barber Shop for years. The Laurelhurst location is more convenient from work so now I go there. I have been to a dozen barbershops is Seattle - Nathan is head and shoulders above all the others! One of my boys has a tough head to cut well (somewhat uniquely shaped!), Nathan is the only barber who gets it right every time. Ali has been cutting my hair for the past 5 years. He is the only one I trust and I guarantee he does the BEST fade in the PNW! It is extremely difficult for a man to find a good barber these days and Ali doesn't disappoint. He is hands down the best barber I've ever been to, and I highly recommend him. I've had a Yelp account for a long time but rarely post. This shop deserves 5 stars. I've been going to see these guys at their other location for a while. Never had a bad haircut. Unfortunately their other location was burned down by a neighbors mistake. I don't mind traveling the extra distance to this location. They seem to have very loyal customers of all ages. Nathan is the man!! My boyfriend has been seeing Nathan for cuts and beard grooming for years and EVERY single time he looks amazing! Recently we had an event to go to and couldn't make it to Nathan so instead went to another shop in his office building downtown - mistake! Cut and shave were twice the price and looked half as good! I take my twin 2.5 year old boys to Nathan for every hair cut. We tried a couple other places when they were younger but it was always a disaster. We've had excellent cuts with Nathan at his shop at 35th and 95th and his new Laurelhurst shop. My boys are always happy to see him which says a lot. My search for a great barbershop has been over since late May. Nathan reminds me of the classic barbershops of my youth. Low cost, great attention to detail, and an enjoyable welcoming experience. It is always a pleasure to encounter him and I can't imagine going anywhere else. I've been to Nathan's 95th Street Barbershop a couple of times, but have found his Laurelhurst location to be more convenient from where I live on Capitol Hill. read more

Nathan's an excellent barber/owner here! He's extremely friendly and loves what he does. I drive an extra 15 minutes out of my way to get my hair cut here and it's worth it every time. This shop is newly renovated, convenient to our house and staffed with friendly and talented staff. His shops have always been service oriented and family friendly. I would honestly give him 6 stars. Nathan is always enthusiastic and hilarious. We used to see him at is old place on 95th, and we received the same awesome service here. The man can do it all from straight razor to threading and everything in between while making you laugh the entire time . I'd recommend him to anyone. This is the best barber shop I've ever been to. Excellent customer service and Nathan does immaculate hair cuts. I was on my way to an interview one day and I didn't have time from the day before to get a line up. I was lucky to meet Linda who gives awesome hair cuts she's a sweet & beautiful hair cutter. I'm very picky about who cuts\trims my hair but now I found Linda.. I highly recommend her. read more
