I was lucky enough to show up right when the canelés had been pulled from the oven, so they were warm to the touch when I received them. The outside of the canelé had a thick, crunchy crust and contrasted nicely with the fluffy, spongy, light texture inside. The caramelized, browned bottom provided a slightly bitter note to contrast the sweetness. With a cup of coffee, this is honestly one of my favorite breakfasts. I would 100% stop by again just to pick up a canelé.

If there's another reason why there wasn't a Lishan oolong tea tasting, it's the schedule that never meets my day and hour to try one. Therefore, I have no need since Asha Tea House usually has seasonal tea drinks. If Chicha San Chen would find a rental space here in my hometown instead of downtown Berkeley, it'll be splendid to find out if it's just as good as Heytea at Metreon. The green tea is quite good, especially with a bit of honey. The standard oolong is pretty ordinary, and I wouldn't pay the premium price for it. However, the Pouchong is distinctive and delicious. The condensed milk lemon series and fresh taro are also delicious, especially for those who avoid caffeine. I would recommend coming here if you are particular about teas with unique notes or are interested in their unique preparation/toppings! small edit: I would also highly recommend ordering ahead if you have Snackpass, as this location gets very busy with students.
