I stumbled upon La Noisette Sweets by chance while I was in line waiting for a Xulo pop-up next door at Morrell's Bread. The shop is on the smaller side -- with no seating inside, so it's strictly an order and take to-go type of a spot. Although there were a bunch of delicious pastry items in the case, my eyes laser focused on the canelés. It's hard to find a well made canelé and the ones here were incredible. I was lucky enough to show up right when the canelés had been pulled from the oven, so they were warm to the touch when I received them. The outside of the canelé had a thick, crunchy crust and contrasted nicely with the fluffy, spongy, light texture inside. The caramelized, browned bottom provided a slightly bitter note to contrast the sweetness. With a cup of coffee, this is honestly one of my favorite breakfasts. I would 100% stop by again just to pick up a canelé. read more

Beautiful pastries that can be found at the Kensington farmers market on Sundays. There was a line but it went by quickly. I was worried about them selling out of items but fortunately I arrived around 11am and there was still lots to choose from! They do not have any coffee, but no worries right next to them there is a coffee stand so it worked out! After you can take the time to stroll around the cute little farmers market and maybe even enjoy some live music. As for what I ordered : - Almond croissant 6/10 - croissant was good, as for the filling I have had better. - A strawberry pastry (can't remember the name) 4/10 it was quite beautiful just like all the other pastries here but I was not a big fan. All in all the presentation gets a 4 star but that's not what matters most. Perhaps I ordered the wrong items for my taste palette, so I am willing to try again the next time I'm in the area! read more

Overall La Noisette is still a solid option for most things, but after having dozens of croissants in Europe and the US, I can say the bake on them is not great. I feel like it's changed since my initial review as everytime we get a croissant, it's just not good so we opt for the danishes instead which are good. read more

They had a long line and that excited me because I just knew this spot was it. It was finally my turn, I bought like 10 different items lol. I could not make up mind at all. This place smelled delicious . It is a quaint spot.. which is perfect. The only thing I disliked was the lack of parking. I had to drive around awhile.. but I found one...yayyyy for me! Excellent pastries! We had lunch nearby and while waiting in line to be seated a couple behind us recommended La Noisette Sweets. The shop is really cute. The young woman who helped us was so nice describing each pastry. There was an older gentlemen working in the background. We assume it was the owner. I ordered the canele's and was excited to try them. They were good but unfortunately they tasted slightly burnt and over baked.

Oh La Noisette. I had you bookmarked for so long. But while everything looked and sounded amazing, much of what we had didn't seem as fresh as one would have expected. The croques flavors seemed to be good but the croissant or bread part of it was a little stale as were the pain au chocolate. No fluffiness or airiness at all. A little flat and soggy actually. I looked forward to the noisette the most as I love a hazelnut and chocolate combo. But same on the bread part. Didnt taste fresh. And the toasted hazelnuts were a bit stale. I had a random craving for some caneles for a few weeks and was looking for a pastry shop that wasn't in the city that I could visit! Searching on Yelp, I found La Noisette Sweets and realized I walked by the shop once but it wasn't open that day. This time around, we came on a Saturday morning and it wasn't crowded. Service was quick and the staff was friendly and patient while I decide on my order. If you like French style baked goods, this is a great place to check out. The caneles flavors were great, not too sweet! I would come back just for this. Since their pastries menu changes, I would come back to try the other pastries next time. They warmed up the savory pastries and the custard in the Meyer Lemon pastry was rich and sweet, with the lemon prominent. There was no seating indoors, but there were 4-5 seats outside the shop. Just incredible! The flaky layers in their pastry and richness of butter they use is unmatched. I had one with a tomato and cheese filling and probably one of the best things I've had in my life. They also have one with tiramisu crème which is delicious. Not particularly accessible or in a busy neighborhood means less traffic for them (wish they'd get more). Delectable French pastries in a cute shop! I was taking PTO one Wednesday and finally made it here - I had a chocolate almond croissant, a kouign amann, and a croque monsieur danish. Everything was crisp and buttery. I actually wouldn't get the chocolate almond croissant again (the almond filling was too sweet and it was very small compared to Fournee), but the kouign amann might be the favorite I've tried so far (and this is coming from someone who is obsessed with Starter Bakery). Came for a sweet surprise when dropping off the sib at UC Berk and will look forward to another Saturday to visit here Pastries: raspberry croissant was to die for... the flakiness, filled with real raspberries, buttery taste and powder dust of pure goodness. This was the best croissant I ever had, so upset I did not get two. We also got the chocolate croissant, Kouign-amann, strawberry danish, canneles de bordeaux, and a raspberry chocolate ganache pastry. The raspberry chocolate ganache pastry was immaculate and my sister wanted a huge cake of it. It melted in your mouth and the dark chocolate was rich. It was so delicious, the sister refused to wait for a picture; hence, the half eaten pastry in the picture. Chocolate croissant, strawberry danish and Kouign-amann were delicious with hot coffee and tea. My least favorite was the canneles de bordeaux. It was good but the other ones blew it away in taste. I love cinnamon and caramel, but definitely a more mature grandma pastry who can't have sugar. Environment: very small bakery probably the smallest I ever been to, but the pastries speak volumes. The displays are in full view and they have racks of fresh pastries behind them. We went towards closing and they still had a good selection Service: sweetest humans running this bakery. I stumbled upon this sweet gem of a bakery while on my way to Third Culture. Happenstance it was a Wednesday! I didn't realize my luck until I told all my coworkers about it and we found out it's open only one day! You walk in and immediately heaven's bells play in the distance. Oh wait, it was just in my head. Sunbeams shine upon 2 glass cases with the most delectable pastries right inside the door. Only 2 people could fit inside at a time. I wanted to get one of each, they all looked so scrumptious. What I got: Regular croissant (buttery and soft inside) Hazelnut croissant (yummy chocolatey filling) Cara Cara Danish (absolutely delicious) Kouign amann (buttery, sweet and crunchy top) Strawberry pistachio croissant Almond cake with blueberries I want to come back every week and will happily put on 20lbs. Thinking of having a croissant from my usual bakery, I decided to try someplace new. I didn't know of this place and was in luck as it was Wednesday, the only day it is open. I got the strawberry pistachio croissant, nutella apple kougin amann, tiramisu danish, and apple turnover to share with the hubs. My favorite was the nutella apple kougin amann. The pastry as still flaky and crunchy. It had the right amount of filling of apple and nutella. The second would be the strawberry pistachio croissant. I was expecting a strawberry jam filling, but was surprised to find sliced strawberries. This worked well, as the strawberry added a slight tanginess to the sweet pistachio. I hoping it was double baked, but it was not. I'd definitely come back to try another kougin amann flavor. read more

I see why they have a solid five star rating. We stumbled upon this place by accident while on our way to the hipster bakery around the block. I found myself questioning whether or not we needed to get food from both bakeries, but I am here to say that I am so happy we did! Everything was so. dang. tasty. I'm still reeling from how good it was. This quickly became my go-to bakery! They have a bunch of unique items that aren't typically seen anywhere else near here. I was eyeing this place so long but I work on Wednesday. Call it fate, but one Wednesday last Fall, I had an unfortunate series of events that led me to take the day off work, so I took care of some personal emergencies that morning and by afternoon I went straight to La noisette for the pastries I've been drooling over from just photos online. Unfortunately by 1:00 they were out of the kouign amann and strawberry pistachio croissant. I grabbed a few savory bites and a pistachio pastry and although they weren't my first choice, everything was delicious. I've been itching to go back since that day..... Fast forward to Feb 2022 when my job now starts late on Wednesday so I can actually make it to this place right when it opens to get the freshest selection before having to jet to work. I did just that this past Wednesday and everything looked so fresh and amazing that I could not help but order $50 worth of different pastries. Of course my priority was the strawberry pistachio croissant and kouign amann that I had missed out of the first time. Everything was incredibly delicious! The only disappointment on my second visit was a miscommunication that occurred. I ordered a ton of stuff and one of the very helpful and pleasant employees patiently counted my items and rang me up. After I took my card out of the reader while she was packing up my order, she hesitated, and I asked if I had forgotten something. She looked at me and said she had forgotten to charge me for one of the items. I said no big deal and she rang me up for a second transaction of $4.00. I walked out happy, but when I got to work and checked my bag, one of the danishes was missing. I think that she forgot to pack it in my bag after charging me the additional transaction of $4.00. It's only $4.00 and an honest mistake, but it was still a little disappointing not being able to try the cara cara danish after I went out of my way to pay again and make an effort to honestly support a small local business. Jumped into school to learn the trade and has been making these yummy things for 6years or so. What a hard worker and what an understanding of great pastries and food.
