    Savory Pastries

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a tiny whole in the wall spot in Berkeley.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Limited hours but totally worth making it in. I LOVE their Canelle! I tried an egg tart of some sort today and it was perfect as well.

Beautiful pastries that can be found at the Kensington farmers market on Sundays. There was a line but it went by quickly. I was worried about them selling out of items but fortunately I arrived around 11am and there was still lots to choose from! They do not have any coffee, but no worries right next to them there is a coffee stand so it worked out! [[HIGHLIGHT]]After you can take the time to stroll around the cute little farmers market and maybe even enjoy some live music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] As for what I ordered : - Almond croissant 6/10 - croissant was good, as for the filling I have had better. - A strawberry pastry (can't remember the name) 4/10 it was quite beautiful just like all the other pastries here but I was not a big fan. All in all the presentation gets a 4 star but that's not what matters most. Perhaps I ordered the wrong items for my taste palette, so I am willing to try again the next time I'm in the area!

A hidden gem! Good lamination on their pastry and lots of variety. Fairly reasonably priced.

I tried a few pastries, and the strawberry pistachio was my favorite--mostly because I love pistachio! It had the perfect balance of sweetness, and the combination of flavors was spot on. The caramelized melted cheese added a delicious depth, making it a unique and satisfying bite. I also enjoyed the lemon Danish--light, flavorful, and just the right amount of tartness. Overall, a great selection of pastries!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute little bakery next to Standard Fare where we had brunch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Asked the lady behind the counter what are their best sellers and she said their caneles and their pistachio croissant so that is what we ordered. Will have to come back to try their other offerings.

Croque Salmon. Filling was good. Croissant part not so fresh.

Oh La Noisette. I had you bookmarked for so long. But while everything looked and sounded amazing, much of what we had didn't seem as fresh as one would have expected. The croques flavors seemed to be good but the croissant or bread part of it was a little stale as were the pain au chocolate. No fluffiness or airiness at all. A little flat and soggy actually. I looked forward to the noisette the most as I love a hazelnut and chocolate combo. But same on the bread part. Didnt taste fresh. And the toasted hazelnuts were a bit stale. Disappointed bc I had held high hopes. But perhaps we came on an off day.

La Noisette Sweets had a good variety of savor and sweet options, and was not too busy when I went! At 9:30, all pastries were available, with the two I chose shown in the photos. They warmed up the savory pastries and the custard in the Meyer Lemon pastry was rich and sweet, with the lemon prominent. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was no seating indoors, but there were 4-5 seats outside the shop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would recommend walking toward 4th Street afterward!

I had a random craving for some caneles for a few weeks and was looking for a pastry shop that wasn't in the city that I could visit! Searching on Yelp, I found La Noisette Sweets and realized I walked by the shop once but it wasn't open that day. This time around, we came on a Saturday morning and it wasn't crowded. Service was quick and the staff was friendly and patient while I decide on my order. If you like French style baked goods, this is a great place to check out. The caneles flavors were great, not too sweet! I would come back just for this. Since their pastries menu changes, I would come back to try the other pastries next time. If you're looking for seating area, there's a small section of benches outside for you to sit down and enjoy your pastries.

We decided to order 6 different pastries. We first tried their Seasonal Strawberry Almond Frangipane, Seasonal Strawberry Kouign Amann, Cardamon Pistachio Kouign Amann, Chocolate Pistachio Kouign Amann, Chocolate Babka, and Twice Baked Mocha Pecan Croissant. I liked all of their Kouign Amanns a lot, especially the strawberry one which added a nice fruit element! Their kouign amanns have very crispy layers and very flaky. I'd honestly recommend all 6 of the pastries we tried, especially since the prices for this place are lower (~$6) than some other high quality bakeries around the Oakland and SF area. The decor inside the bakery is really cute and there are quite a few small tables you can sit at to enjoy the baked goods. Service was nice and fast. Overall: solid pastry spot I'd recommend anyone to check out!

The ambiance is wonderful - I absolutely love the deep blue color scheme, the cute matching mugs, and gorgeous plants. They have a lot of different pastry choices, but unfortunately, there was only one vegan option: a tiny hazelnut sweet bread. I ordered the bread along with an Americano. When I tried to take the pastry out of the package to share it with my girlfriend, it completely crumbled into a big mess. I went up to the counter to let them know, and the employee told me it was actually meant to be eaten straight from the package. She mentioned it was on the drier side being vegan, she took the crumbled mess and gave me a new one but it ended up having the exact same issue. It wasnt dry, but it just wouldn't hold any moisture and was far too crumbly to eat. For $5, this tiny pastry was a major letdown. To make the interaction weirder, she took the original crumbled bread back from me and I'm only assuming threw it away, which felt entirely unnecessary. Having been vegan for nine years, I've had some truly amazing, moist vegan baked goods, so this was incredibly disappointing. While the vibe and aesthetic are great, the vegan options were major letdown. CC accepted Restroom available

Visit date: 4/19/2026…read more We came about an hour before closing on a Sunday, so unfortunately many of the items I wanted to try based on other people's recommendations were already sold out. We ended up getting three things: * The cheese twist was soooo good! The cheese was flavorful and the pastry itself was perfectly done. * The apple pastry was interesting. Unlike many places where the pastry is either bland or overly sweet, Acme's pastry had a slight saltiness to it, which I actually think is genius. I almost always prefer a hint of savory flavor to balance out the sweetness from the filling or topping. My only issue with this one was that the apple topping was not sweet at all and leaned more tart, so paired with the salty pastry, it was not quite the flavor combination I was hoping for. * The mini raspberry pastry had the same issue for me. The raspberry topping was just a bit too tart and sour for my taste. Even though not everything was a hit for me, I would definitely come back and give this bakery another chance, especially since we arrived so late and missed out on many of their most popular items.

The women working at the counter were so sweet and patiently explained the menu to me as I was picking out my treats. I ended up getting their Okonomiyaki Danish, Banana Milk Milk Bun, and Yuzu Meringue Bun. The danish was probably one of my favorite savory pastries I've ever had! I loved the crispy layers, and the flavors were absolutely on point. The Banana Milk Milk Bun had a great banana milk custard filling that was prominent yet not too overpowering. The bun itself was incredibly soft and had a topping that reminded me of a pineapple bun or a concha, which I loved. The Yuzu Meringue Bun was slightly on the sweeter side, but it was filled with a delicious, tart yuzu creme that paired perfectly with the crispy exterior. Aside from their iconic Okonomiyaki Danish, they rotate their menu with different flavors of milk buns, cream buns, croissants, and other baked goods, so I'd love to come back to try their other items. Yuzu Meringue Bun -- Spot on with the cruffin and meringue combination. The yuzu flavor was generous, although it leaned a little too tart for my personal preference. I wished there was more meringue -- perhaps having a layer of meringue in the center would have made it absolutely superb! Brown Butter Mochi Bites -- These were alright, but nothing particularly special. They were missing the signature mochi chewy texture, so they didn't quite feel "mochi" enough to truly be called mochi bites. Sesame Cookie -- Unfortunately, it was too hard and crisp for my liking. Crossubi -- A very unique concept and not bad overall. I just wish the interior wasn't quite as hollow; a little more filling would have elevated it.
