I really had a good experience here. It is a small salon, with a relaxing atmosphere. This might sound odd, but I really love that they do not have massage chairs. Somehow those massage chairs seem so forced, not meeting you where you are at, but telling you to relax now darn it. So I loved the cushioned non-electric seating here. Beautiful, simple, relaxing. A last minute weekend getaway to St Helena. After Saturday brunch, I searched for a nail salon near me. Quite a few options popped up. After going to one on Main Street that was full, I drove to two other places at this point it was 3:30 pm. I searched Yelp and Lavender Nail Salon came up in Yountville. I called and asked for mani/pedi for 2 people. I explained I would be coming from St Helena. The woman on the phone was extremely accommodating. We were her last clients for Saturday night and even stayed late. Service was wonderful! One of the best pedicures, if you like massages. I was so relaxed I fell asleep. Long story short, if you are in Yountville (or St Helena- it is worth the 9 mile drive) and are in need of mani/pedi call Carol. She will coordinate service for you. This may be the worst, poorly run nail salon ever. While I was there, they screwed up the appointments for 3 different parties. The salon owner was "busy" getting her own nails done!?!?!They don't have a website, only take cash (money laundering front???) and they are extremely rude. I couldn't be more thrilled with my experience there at Lavender Nail Salon. First, we walked in close to closing time but they agreed to take us in which was so nice! My technician was Hannah and she did an absolutely amazing job. I have very short nails but she made them look great! She worked with precision to extend my nail bed, was detail-oriented when as she applied my polish, and was helpful in selecting the right color. Best manicure I've had in years! I came up to Napa to see my dermatologist and decide I'd try to bring my manicure into 2022. I googled the nearest nail salon to me and found Lavender. Amy was lovely, personable and the most gentle manicurist on my cuticles in literally a decade. Carol did my shellac with perfect precision . Went back in February- Good work and clean... I wanted a gel pedi, asked for that when I made my appointment- they were surprised and said I didn't mention gel when I made appointment.... I was going to Mexico, of course I said gel.... So it holds up in the sand. I do have a problem when I ask if a business takes credit cards and the response is "yes, but you will tip in cash".... A little taken back by that... Also, St.Helena prices... At $65 for a get pedi... I know they're not a chop shop and very well appointed, but give me a break. I'm kind of dying over the one star reviews, mostly out of towners. My husband and I go every 4-5 weeks to get our nails done, we love Lavender and the ladies in there. We've never had a bad experience, however we ALWAYS make an appt and we always confirm our appts. I've been a nail tech for 25 years, I've seen it all. Busy nail salons don't have time or care if you are late or hung up at a massage, they don't need to wait. Carol has been doing nails in the valley for over 30 years and does good clean work. Is she pricey? Actually no she's not, if you consider where she is located and her years of experience. Most Salons in general are by appointment, even ones that accept walk ins. So if you are looking for the cheap shop or the one that will take you right away then you might have to look elsewhere. But from a locals perspective we have been very pleased. read more

I cannot speak for the manicures here, however, I can speak to the rudeness of the staff. I attempted to get a manicure here recently. There were two customers in the shop. One tech did not have a client. One of the techs told me that an appointment was coming in soon but I could wait to see if she did not show up. The appointment time rolled around and I sat waiting quietly. All of a sudden the the tech said "well, do you want to wait or not?". I responded that either I would wait or I asked if someone could simply remove my polish. She said absolutely not and that they were way too busy for me to have any services done. I have never had such encountered a nail salon where the staff was so flagrantly impolite and willing to push away eager business. I'm not sure why they were being particularly nasty with me. I definitely would not recommend this place to someone looking for a nice manicure and that's saying a lot coming from someone who enjoys manicures very frequently. read more

Very nice salon and nail technicians, However I think $55 for a gel manicure is extremely steep. Normal salon charges are $25-$35. I realize it's a vacation and resort destination,but that is more than double the price of an average gel manicure. Very expensive to maintain that routine every two weeks. Lavender Nail Salon is in a cute courtyard on Washington St. The salon has a relaxing vibe, extremely clean & all the ladies who work here are sweet & friendly. Hannah did a gel manicure for me & it was in fact the best manicure I have ever had. She took her time, shaped my nails perfectly & the way she polished looks like I just had it done & tomorrow will be 2 weeks. I went in for a pedicure and decided I wanted to get a manicure done as well, if they had the time. They said yes but failed to mention that they would be doing the manicure during my pedicure. Because they don't have the proper set up to give mani/pedis at the same time, they did a horrible job. They pretty much missed all of my cuticles and the nail polish job was horrendous, as she had my hands in the air trying to paint them. I called in about 5 days later to notify the owner. She was unapologetic and blamed me for having cuticles that grow too fast. Lavender is a pretty expensive nail salon so I was very upset at this unprofessional behavior. I have not gone back since. I was lucky enough to stumble upon this gem while vacationing in Napa. I was looking for a good mani/pedi, but was afraid I wouldn't find any reasonably priced places in such a nice town. Man was I lucky! Not only is this place ADORABLE, but its brand new, uber clean, and has a wonderful and skilled staff. I got there right as they opened for the day with another lady, who seemed to already be a regular. We had a wonderful little morning with our great technicians, chatting and sipping green tea. The place was so clean, and they actually used those factory sealed tool kits, so you know the tools are CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN! The staff was so cheerful and fun, but more importantly, cared about your requests, and were very skilled at their craft. Carol really seemed to care about her product, as I was asking for specific colors, she reached into a bag, and handed me an array of Essies newest spring colors! I couldn't have been more excited! Unfortunately for them, there was a woman that came in as we were enjoying our great morning, who was just the most wretched person I have ever encountered in my life. She was soooo cranky and unreasonable, but somehow, the staff was able to muster enough patience to bend over backwards to accommodate her every demand. At one point, the lady getting her Shellac changed turned around to reprimand her ruining her and my experience with her attitude problem. I was impressed with the staffs professionalism and unlimited PATIENCE, even as this wretched woman dragged on and on, even referring to herself as "The old Battleaxe from city hall". I would have used a different B!*# word however........ So, in short, come here if you're a local for your regular mani pedi and make some new friends. YES IT WAS! Carole's sister Cindy who pops up every once in awhile is AWESOME so if you do catch her there, be sure that you do see her! She gave me a Mani & a pedi. She took the time to make my nails PERFECT. She also carried good conversation throughout the whole time unlike other places, even the ones I normally would go to don't even talk which I'm surprised after being a well known customer. Haha. It's location is central to "downtown" Yountville, and it's beautifully decorated, albeit quite humid inside. I was easily slid into their schedule and never made to feel rushed. Sara was my attendant, and she was meticulous in her attention to my manicure. As other women were coming in for their appointments, it was clear they were regulars, as everyone working there greeted them with a warm smile and knew their name. I love this salon! I'm so sorry to see a previous poster who had a bad experience, but I guess every business has an off day? I know now, to make an appt if I want a fill, b/c only Carol does them, but since I have rotating week days off, it hasn't been a problem at all. The place is pretty, immaculate and serene. They do an amazing job; I had a regular pedicure that the polish didnt fade or chip for, I kid you not, 6 weeks! That's what made me go back, but I always know what they're using on me are quality products, and they really are a notch above most nail salons. I also appreciate the time and care they take so that they're not running over my cuticles, which HURTS, or creating hot spots when they're using the grinding tool. I had an hour to kill before meeting my friend and stopped in here on a whim. After giving up a search for a coffee shop with wifi to get some work done in Yountville, I stopped in here and was able to charge up my cell phone (which was almost dead). I opted for the Express Manicure by Sara and cost $20. It was so amazing! The express version isn't super pampering or anything like that, but it's now Day #12 and my polish is just starting to peel. And unlike manicures in the past, when I say "peel" I only meet the polish is fading at the end...no giant chips/flakes. From what I've experienced in the past, this is the true sign of a manicure gone well. So glad I spent my free hour this way! read more
