I started coming here 6 months ago and am addicted! I never (this is literally my first) write reviews on Yelp so you know it's good when I decide to take my time to write one. The ladies are super sweet and it's so easy to make an appointment (just text Dina!), they always make time for me since I have such a busy working schedule. Most importantly, they honestly do a great job with my nails. I usually go for gel manicures and normal pedicures here, the prices and the atmosphere are unbeatable! I've been getting my nails done for so many years, & with new places - I usually get the bare minimum, but they took their time & were very thorough, plus my massage was nice & long! Took me almost 3 years to find a place to have my nails done regularly. Dina does a great job and there is no grinding of my nail beds. She has a unique way of applying very little product to smooth out the bed and then puts 3 layers of lacquer. I am thrilled to have long natural nails for the first time in my life! This place has mixed customer service. I took my young child with me and asked for two mani/pedi's. There were three chairs available yet they had her sit on my lap instead of giving her her own chair. She started asking for her own chair. The lady in charge told me no. That her legs would not reach the water (not true) and she had to sit on my lap. After a few more minutes, child starts asking again. I'm uncomfortable and ready to leave but don't want to upset my kid. The lady doing my nails speaks to the lady in charge and next thing we know my child gets own chair. Happy but still annoyed at the treatment we received by lady in charge. All others who helped us were great. read more

I wanted to try out a new nail salon and i attracted towards this one because of theyre really good prices. customer service was okay but thot the best. My nail lady wouldn't really listen to what i had to say and she didn't really take the time and effort into doing my nails. I asked for red with a fully bedazzled ring finger with medium/long length coffin nails.. That's not what i got at all. i had told the lady i had 35 dollars in my pocket and i asked if that was enough to get the FULLY bedazzled nail, she said ok. Then she got started on my nails. First she cut them to short and then blamed me for telling her that length when i said longer she just wasn't paying attention and cut them way to short (they were almost the length of my natural nail) Then i made her redo it cuz i didn't like the length so she reglued on the tips and then started cutting by the time she cut them it wasnt the exact length i wanted them, but i didn't want to argue with her anymore so i left it thinking my nails would turn out cute anyways. Then she started putting on acrylic and she didn't do the best it was messy and all over the place and she rushed through it. After that she started filing and when she was filing i could tell that it wasn't going to be good. I then asked her MULTIPLE times to refile them to make them look more like coffin then square and she rushed threw that to and don't listen at all. Then when she got to the bedazzled part i was already over it. I literally was crying in my nail seat because nobody wants to walk around with ugly nails. Then she started putting on the gems and she started putting them on and she asked "do you want a design" i said "no i would like the whole nail to be covered though" and she said alright and then went to work then she said she didn't have enough to do ly whole finger nail and i said i see some in the other container (there were sooo many more) and then she put it in a flower (which didn't look good at all) and i said uhh this isn't rlly what're i wanted can you add more and then she added gold ones. By then i was balling in my chair because number one all my nails were a different shape and number 2 the design was not good at all and number 3 they were way to short!! I honestly am in disbelief that i had to pay 30 dollars for this when i could have done a better job doing this by myself for free.i will defiantly go back and speak my opinion when she's not as busy. read more

So disappointing. I have been here 4 times now. The times before ranged from great to okay. This time was the worst. The women giving me my pedi was manhandling me, left nail polish on my toes, didn't know how to file my toes (they were at a huge angle). When I asked the owner for a new person... because why not just resolve the situation in an easy manner, she smirked and laughed and left me with the first women implying I didnt understand how pedis are given. I've had them for years...I know what to expect. She even came over 2x's to tell her how to do the pedi. It seems she threw this women in where she wasn't ready and I actually felt for the women working on me. When things did not turn around I asked again for someone new. This time she got someone one and she she fixed everything. I am not actually upset with the quality of the first women's job, I am upset at how the owner handled it. Horrible customer service. They always do a little calf and foot massage too, which doesn't feel like an afterthought like it does at most places. On the plus side; cheap, clean, tons of polish colors, sweet staff. On the minus side; inexperienced, imperfect, imprecise manicures and pedicures. If you don't mind sloppy polish, little attention to rough heels and ragged cuticles and can live with uneven, oddly shaped nails then this is the place to go... (Expect a quick and inexpensive job.) OK in a pinch but, personally, I'd rather spend more and get a good, professional mani/pedi. read more

I would have given them a great review based on them taking their time and paying attention to detail BUT when you kick well paying customers out of your shop with those stupid little flip flops on that fall apart because you're closed then I have a problem with you. We walked in an hour before closing, they gave us great pedis, and stuck me under a dryer. Well apparently they closed so they gave me the flip flops and wanted me to roam the streets in those stupid things. Thanks. It was raining. Pedi was ruined and I tipped VERY well. Will never recommend this place and will never go back. Oh and they will definitely remind you to bring cash next time because it's convenient for them. The lady stood there as I reached for my card looking into my purse and asking for cash when I told her I only have my debit card. Bad way to do business and how they treat customers. Dina and her staff are excellent! So attentive, friendly, and professional. I always enjoy the pedicure, expert waxing, and atmosphere. They always try to accommodate me at the last minute, even as a walk-in. Good massage chairs and nice leg/foot rub with the pedicure. They prefer cash tips if possible but accept credit cards, too. COME HERE! I have lived in Rockridge for 6 years and have been visiting Lavender since the day they opened. Dena is great - she/her team provides a fantastic service and a welcoming environment. The moment you walk through the front door of the salon, you are greeted by first name - incredible! Beyond that the Lavender team provides the best gel manicures and pedicures in town! Let me start this review on a positive note, I enjoyed my visit at Lavender Nails Spa, the nail techs are very friendly and welcoming. The salon is very clean and the purple paint really makes the environment calming. I decided on a whim, I wanted my nails done as I was walking down College Ave waiting for a friend to get off work. Originally I walked in, wanting a basic manicure, but I couldn't stand the sight of my nails, so I decided to change to acrylics. I was told to go to a station, but I forgot to mention my change in decision as she started, fortunately she asked me again what I wanted and then I was told to move to another station with the tech who specializes in Acrylics. She did a great job when it came to putting on the acrylic powder/gel, but the shaping and polish disappointed me. The nail shapes aren't consistent , and the polish started chipping the next day and a couple of my nails weren't painted completely.. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this shop. They do great basic manicures and pedicures, so I'd reccomend going for those services, but the acrylics are another story. read more

The staff is nice, my manicure was average but the reason for two stars is because they used nail equipment (cuticle cutters, nail clippers, etc.) that were not sanitized. Not opened from a sterilized pack (which is fine) but they didn't even put them in cleaning solution after use from one client to another! I will not be going back. read more

So pedicure lady was fine, manicure ones is horrible, did really bad job and was asking a lot of stupid annoying questions. This is one of the worst manicures that I have gotten in my life. The manicurist was sloppy and rushed. I had them re-do my nails so they wouldn't be streaky (the nail Polish was actually applied in random directions) and the second attempt left streaks, bubbles and uneven amounts of polish. My nails look like a drip painting. I was getting my nails done for an interview and will have to re-paint them myself before I go. The one good thing was their massages. read more

The ladies there were SO rude. They sighed and rolled their eyes at me at a mistake THEY made. I came in and gave my 2 colors to the lady, asking for both a mani and a pedi. She put one of the colors behind her and started painting my fingers. Then, she got to my toes and she stared applying clear nail polish. I said "You have my color right?" She looked up at me and glared and said "You never even gave me a color." I pointed behind her and she looked at me, rolled her eyes and muttered something not in english.
