I had to update my review because I cannot believe that it was this bad! If I could give negative stars, I would. I've been going here for a couple of months. I used to get my nails done by someone named Tein. About a month ago I went back to get my toes and a full set but tein no longer worked there. The new lady told me to trust her and it'll be beautiful. Now I've never had an issues with my pedicure because someone else does it. But let me tell ya how the very next day after getting my full set one of my nails had a crack in it. I noticed it because I was washing my hair and it pulled a chunk out ! You can imagine how upset i was so I called the next day because it was already late and I explained what happened. I go back the next day and they tell me that I'm going to have to choose a different color for that one nail because they were rearranging the store and was not sure where the polish was. I kept telling the lady that I wouldn't have to change my color if my nail hadn't cracked. She said " i can give you 50% to change all your nails colors". Like ladyyyyyy how dare you try to charge me more money for a color change when I had gotten my nails done not even 2 full days before I realized it was cracked. She then goes and fixes my nails and changes all the colors and adds more acrylic to all my nails because "my nail already had growth" like noooo ma'am you obviously didn't do it right the first time. There's no way In hell anyone's nails grows in two days. I leave and go on about my business. The very next day another one of my nails had a crack in it. At this point I'm annoyed and upset because this is the third time I've been at the nail salon in a matter of 4 days. RIDICULOUS!!!!!! At this point I no longer want them to fix my nails I'm asking for a refund. They refused to give me the the refund without the boss there. I waited for over an hour and the owner never got there so I ended up leaving. If it's one thing I could say is don't even bother wasting your money and time going to this shit whole !!!! read more

They do a good job here. I had my nails painted in a french manicure style, and they were detail oriented and patient with me. My only complaint is that, during my pedicure, they rubbed my foot with a pumice stone and did not use the scraper to remove dead skin from my foot. The pumice stone made my foot smooth for about an hour, but did not have the lasting smoothness that the skin scraper has. read more

I was in the area running some errands and decided to stop by this salon as I've passed by it a couple times when eating at First Watch or Firehouse subs. The store itself is smaller than some of the nearby salons, but it was overall very clean and organized. I was greeted quickly and didn't have much of a wait (though to be expected midday on a weekday). I got a basic manicure and pedicure while I was there, though I confusingly picked through the gel polishes before realizing this was an additional charge, but there was still plenty of regular polishes to choose from as well. The girls who did my nails and toes were great, and the massage was especially relaxing after running around all day. In particular, the owners were really sweet, and you could tell they cared a lot about their salon and their customers experience. Happy to report that my nails still holding strong over 2 weeks out! Not sure where all these negative reviewers are coming from, but Solar Nails has definitely won me over. (Side note that I tried out some other salons in the area as they'd been running 10-20% discounts, but when I compare the actual price for the services, this salon actually ends up cheaper/most cost effective. May not matter for everyone but every bit counts for a college student!) read more

I went here today for a new set of pink and whites. This is a family owned and operated shop and my nails were done by JoAnne. Her husband Henry also does nails here. The shop is quite clean and the pedicure seats and tubs looked great (I'll be trying them out next time). I moved here from California so I am basing my rating off of what I am used to. 1. My application went quickly and I got the correct length and shape that I wanted. I like longer nails and I like them very square. 2. They have several shades of pink. I was able to get a very pink shade without it being overly dark. 3. The gel finish was applied flawlessly... there are no little bumps or grooves - something that drives me insane! Cons: I saw someone else getting their eyebrows done here and I don't think that will be a service I will try here as the technician double dipped into the wax and that is just gross and unsanitary. read more

I had a mani/pedi date with my grandmother and researched a few nail salons nearby and after searching on yelp, this was the closest I could get to finding something "nice enough". Unfortunately, I was apparently mislead because our visit here lasted about 10 seconds long before we bolted. First off, we arrived early on Saturday morning, about 10 a.m. and none of the polishes were organized. In fact, it looked like a color-blind person arranged them. The polishes themselves were not well taken care of (there were some bottles that had dried polishes stuck on them, etc.). This gave me the impression that the shop was run kinda whatever. Just think of it, if you can't possibly spend the few minutes it takes to arrange the polishes then should I really trust you to thoroughly clean out the tubs between customers so no one gets an infection? The salon itself is very small and looks run down. The row of pedicure chairs against one wall were all filled when we got there, but the chairs and buckets just didn't scream cleaned and sanitized. Everything was kinda crowded together and it just didn't feel relaxing. Although we were greeted right away, it just didn't look like a place that I would want to relax and enjoy an outing and the smell was just really, really strong of chemicals as if there was no ventilation in the store. They may do good work here, but if I'm going to shell out $60+ for a mani/pedi then I would want a better atmosphere. read more

Walked in for a Mani Pedi. One person was doing my Mani and one person was doing my Pedi. Five more people walked in for service and the same people continued to complete my Mani Pedi with out rushing. That was an awesome experience. read more

Solar Nail was recommended to me by a girlfriend who raved about her experience there....and I have never been happier. They are a family owned business and they have amazing customer service and a very pleasant disposition. I RARELY have to wait an extended period of time to be served, and they do take appts to eliminate that issue if its a problem. The are reasonably priced and my mani, pedi, and eybrows are always flawless when I leave. They get to know their customers by name and they live and work in the community they serve..which I appreciate. read more

I must say I am probably one of the most picky when it comes to my nails. There's nothing that drives me more crazy than uneven acrylics. I decided to try this salon for a full set of pink and white.
