Not the cleanest place. Unless they do a Rush job cleaning. When we sat at our table there were still crumbs on the table and food under the table. I should have known then. Then the ledges near the window was not clean and the curtains were dusty. Like an inch worth of dust. Hasn't been cleaned in forever it. The ledge behind the headboard where our booth was had loose hair. They were asked to clean this before we sat down. The worst part of it all is that they bought me out my food on a dirty plate. It still had red sticky stuff on it, the waitress took it back with no problem but took forever bringing me out a new plate. Food was lukewarm at this point. Food was okay but didn't get our order right They forgot sausage for one order, cheese for another. The waitress never came back to check on us So we could tell her and it was hard to track her down without yelling across the restaurant. We saw her three times , when she bought our food and when she took the order and when she came back with the check. She was not attentive. When we looked at the receipt, things we asked for were not even put it by the waitress. I understand when it's busy but don't leave paying customers ignored. And if you can't handle it being busy do not take so many customers at once. Some of the other places visited were more busy than this and still was more attentive. They need to clean this place. Seriously. Lastly for the waiting list, they make sure sit outside in the hot Sun and wait with very little seating area to do so. A negative if you are traveling with older adults. Waited 30 mins. They add a 3.5% increase to menu prices if you use a card. Apparently they can't afford to pay the credit card fee when they still put people on a 30-45 min wait. The food was very basic. Portion sizes were small. I don't need them big but they were extra small. For a 12.00 Ham and Cheese Omelet, it was about 5 by 5 on the plate. Nothing wrong with the food - solid diner breakfast and they managed to make turkey sausage taste well seasoned. Our orders took a bit to come out but the staff kept checking on us and refilling coffee and it was fine. Two stars removed for cleanliness. This is food service and trash shouldn't be underneath the tables or strewn on the ground near the entrance. Diners can be greasy spoons but not dirty ones. Moment you sit down, our cheerful waitress asked for our drink order and came back in a flash to get our order. I got watermans breakfast, as I had a craving for crabs (good size fried crab cake). It tasted just fine. My gf got big breakfast (slam?) with two meats, 2 eggs, and pancakes. Quite filling! I could have eaten a whole plate of their hash browns. Yum! We had a fabulous long weekend in OCMD several weeks ago and were absolutely delighted with our wonderful service and breakfast at Layton's on 92nd St. This was Mid May, before Memorial Day. It was a Sunday morning, and there was a mild wait; the little lot at the restaurant was full but there was a multilevel free parking garage right next to it, no problem. We gave our names to Shannon at the podium, who offered us inside or outside dining, and in only maybe 10 minutes we were seated inside. We were greeted by Allana, who was absolutely the best. She was friendly, attentive, on the ball and checked on us often, keeping us in drinks and bringing us her recommended donuts after our meal. She brought us each a cup of water in a gorgeous beach themed paper cup, so pretty I had to take a pic! And there were designer creamers on the table besides half and half: French Vanilla and Hazelnut! Classy! My husband had creamed chip beef and hash browns, and I had Eggs Benedict , also with hash browns, and all were great. Posting pics. The cheese was still pretty much solid which is surprising since it took 30+ mins to come out. We also noticed tons of flies by the counter as we waited for our food. I had a terrible experience at Laytons today. I arrived at 10am and was first met with a rude and hostile hostess who gave me attitude when I was asking about wait time. She then told me it would be a 35 minute wait. My group and I proceeded to wait for over an hour outside with no seating and after asking multiple times on updates on when we were going to get seated we were told that we were next up only for this next up to never arrive. After talking to the second hostess she said that the other hostess had already skipped over us for our table and said she had thought sat us already. So after we finally got a seat at our table it was not the right size for our party and pushed me to the edge of the table with little to no room. After the waitress took our order she gave one of my friends attitude when trying to alter her meals and take off a meat. It then took another hour to get our food and we did not get our food until 12:20 keep in mind we arrived at 10am. The food was subpar at best I got the Westmans meal and the eggs, hash browns, and toast was all average and could've been done at home for $20 cheaper. The crab cake that came along with it was not crab cake but almost all filler and bread with no seasoning just bland. The pancakes were hard as a rock with soggy waffles. The bathroom situation was even worse the stall door would not shut and even worse would not lock I was walked in on. Then this sink in the bathroom was the worst design for a sink I've ever seen. I turned it on and splashed me all over my shirt with no warning. The hostess at this restaurant really need to pick up their game they were openly fighting and arguing in front of multiple customers because of their poor and lack of communication. Overall I believe this restaurant is based solely on hype and crowds not on food ambiance or service because all were below par. If I could give this place negative stars I would be cause they made me feel like a negative person. 0/10 would never recommend read more

Only open until 2pm. Personal pet peeve issue- like all ocean city breakfast places, they do a crepe style omelet. The omelet filling is loose and simply wrapped in egg (instead of the filling being integrated into the egg). A minor issue, but I'd really like to see a non crepe style omelet hit this town.
