The bases are very well made and is a perfect compliment to the extra items they serve. Staff is super friendly and helpful when choosing the items you want. They don't skimp out on the portions either! The place is kinda small and doesn't really have music playing, but that might be because I came in when they opened. They don't have their own restroom in the store, but there is one in their complex which they tell you about so ask if you need to go! I came in wanting to try this place out for the first time since moving nearby and upon walking in I was greeted which was nice. Located in Center Street Anaheim, Lazy Bird has become a popular spot for acai bowls due to their wide variety of toppings and flavors! They have street parking available throughout the area, but there is also a parking structure that's nearby as well. Whenever I've gone I've had good luck with finding parking in front of the place, but I know that some weekends the streets are closed off for larger events. When you walk in, you'll be immediately greeted by the servers at the counter. The place itself is kind of small, but there are a few tables available to sit and enjoy your bowl. Every time I've gone, the servers have always been so kind! I love how they even let you sample the acai flavors before making your decision. I ended up opting for the small acai bowl split with their new blue pineapple and this combination was incredible! I usually always get their regular acai, which is the perfect amount of sweetness, but the addition of the blue pineapple made it more tropical by adding elements of both tart and creaminess from the coconut. I also love the consistency of their acai bowls, as they're always so thick with a rich creaminess that I can never replicate! In terms of toppings, they have so many different options I can't even name all of the ones I added! From so many different kinds of nut butters, to even cool flavored honeys like orange honey. It's so easy to get overwhelmed but I love having all the options to add on! They also stack your bowl with everything you want, so you know you're getting your money's worth here! The matcha açaí bowl base changed my life. Absolutely delicious! Both my partner and I did a create your own. I got the 16oz and he did the 12oz. They really top you off and do not skimp on ingredients!!! I LOVE that Lazybird offers samples. The workers the morning we went in were so incredibly kind and helpful. Ambiance was so chill. Tables inside weren't available to sit, I don't know why maybe for social distancing? But there's tables outside with umbrellas to keep away from the sun. Would not recommend to visit during the hottest part of the day because you'd ROAST outside and your açaí bowl would melt so quick. We went around 10am and it was perfect. On to the bowls: I wish I could've had all the bases! Once you pick a base for your açaí bowl, you then get 4 toppings. If you don't like super sweet things, don't worry because they have multiple options that are less sweet than the OG flavors. The cacao base was unreal, but I went with the matcha base because I thought it would go really well with the toppings I wanted. Absolutely delicious. The roasted almonds were so yummy and paired with the matcha and sweet coconut: unreal! Could not recommend this place more.
