Barbecue tri-tip sandwich with onion rings
    Ana B.

What a hidden treasure! My hubby found this cafe on yelp. We ordered the special of the day, tri tip sandwich with fries or onion rings. The tri-tip sandwich was perfect! It was so tender and flavorful! We were given a taste of their homemade spicy barbecue sauce that was so delicious! The chef gave us a few slices of his homemade sourdough bread with butter which we used to sop up the rest of the Spicey bbq sauce. Great service! We will definitely be back!

For selfish reasons I'd like to keep quiet and keep this absolutely cool culinary fund to myself and my family, but that wouldn't be fair to the rest of you - and certainly not fair to the wonderful team that make some of the tastiest food you've eaten. Thank you to Saul and his team for a wonderful experience at your restaurant. My wife had the blue cheese bacon burger (see picture), and I had a special chile verde dinner plate with two eggs over medium, beans and flour tortilla. Food is served at perfect temp, and there's portions were quite large, but most importantly you'll be thrilled with what you're served. There's not enough room here to describe all the special care Saul puts into his plates. My wife can't have sesame so he recommended she try his fresh baked sourdough. Wow, was it ever special - and the burger was spectacular. The chili verde plate was as good as I can remember ever having tasted. The level of heat, the super tender pork, the savory roasted chili sauce, the fresh cheeses all combined to make a meal I will return for. Throw all this in with a very personable Saul, his mother, and Miguel. Saul went out of his way to ensure a perfect meal and he delivered. We can't wait to come back for a repeat visit and we've definitely found a new favorite restaurant. Don't miss this place if you're in the Ventura area. We've lived in the area since 1993 and can tell you that it is tops in the area. The picture: This is the blue cheese burger. I wish I'd have taken a picture of the chile verde plate (it looked and tasted so wonderful, I ate half before thinking of taking a picture). My wife let me take this picture before her first bite or likely the same thing would have happened!

Driving through town from out of county and saw this place on yelp. The location is deceiving as it is in the middle of condos/resort area. The ambience of the location is outdated and looks like a gift shop. It definitely did not feel as though the yelp images/food matches the ambience. Upon seating we were immediately greeted with the very friendly chef. They were out of a few ingredients but our party got turkey and cheddar sandwiches , grilled chicken salad, and a hot Club sandwich. We were happily surprised that the food was not only fresh but super delicious and all of us cleared our plates. The food was amazing and this location should focus on revamping the inside to draw in more business. It is right off of the marina but set back so you don't have direct view of the water. Go for a quick stroll afterwards and the views are gorgeous. Give this place a try you won't be disappointed by the food or the service!

    Tri tip salad

We were driving home and needed a late lunch and we looked at Yelp and found this place. It is in a very odd location. I think upstairs is time shares. We walked in and we were the only ones there and I thought it was a mistake. I almost walked back out again but I'm so glad we didn't. We had 2 adults and 2 kids. The server and the chef were so friendly! They brought some fresh sourdough bread out that was absolutely delicious. I almost asked if we could buy a loaf. My kids got the chicken strips and fries and my other kid got the blt but add turkey and no tomato on the fresh sourdough. I got a French dip and onion rings and my wife got the tri tip bbq salad (the only meal we took a picture of because it was so lovely). The portions for everything were big. Everything was super tasty. The price was also very reasonable. I'd definitely go back.

This cafe is a fantastic hidden gem in Ventura if you are looking for a casual eatery with excellent food. The restaurant is on the property of the Harbortown Point Resort but open to the public for dining by resort guests and non-guests alike. The cafe is run by a mother and son team that put love into the food and the warm, welcoming atmosphere they create. They make you feel like family and prepare everything fresh to order. It is these two and their cuisine that make this place such a gem! Be sure to ask Saul about his homemade bread and amazing rolls. By far the best breakfast burritos we've ever tasted and their Sunday BBQ lunch special (requires advanced ordering) is absolutely delicious. Whether you are a family with kids, a couple on vacation, heading back from a day at the beach, or just looking for a new spot to try I highly recommend checking this place out. It's not fancy or pretentious by any means, just a great comfortable place to get a filling meal in a location by the harbor that you've probably never been. Reservations are not necessary but recommend calling 805-650-9273 extension 444 or the resort front desk to confirm hours as they may change seasonally.

Thank you Saul for helping to make my friend's birthday more special!

The tacos were flavorful, the dip was creamy and perfect for sharing, and the drink hit the spot. Service is pretty straightforward you place your order at the counter, and someone brings everything to your table. There's not a lot of interaction with the staff, but everything was smooth and efficient. One of my favorite parts was the atmosphere. The happy hour crowd was a nice mix of people, and the place had a fun, lively energy without feeling overwhelming. Since it was a warm day, my friend and I chose to sit inside. We had a spacious table with plenty of room for our food and drinks, which made it easy to relax and enjoy catching up. The menu is filled with pages and pages of delicious sounding cocktails. We chose non alcoholic drinks. I really wanted a fresh brewed iced tea. Unfortunately, there ice tea is from a machine. I opted for a Diet Coke. The glassware is elegant as is their gold silverware. (That's an oxymoron! ) OH, I digress. We ordered the fried calamari and the vegetable tempura. It did take some time for our order to arrive. We were offered bread. The bread was so small yet warm. I do not believe that that was butter. It didn't melt like butter. When our orders arrived, I quietly noted the very small portion. The calamari was good. As a teacher, I give it a B. The vegetable tempura was also a very small portion. The tempura vegetables were well cooked and seemed fresh. One of the issues was the batter. The batter was so so oily. I was disappointed and confused by the fact that the dipping sauce was not tempura sauce. The dipping sauce that we had seemed like a lighter version of Thousand Island dressing. I do not recommend this appetizer. The service was wonderful. Our soft spoken waiter was kind. I love the way he presented my drink. His folded hands were like a coaster. He did not touch the glass. It truly was a presentation. There was a group of friends at the bar. They were having a great time enjoying the World Cup. There were about six of them. They had the bar and the game to themselves.
