We stopped at Lazy Turtle for an unexpected lunch. It is such a cute little hidden gem right that sits right on the Indian River Lagoon. It actually may have been our best meal down here! We ordered the Tres Tiki Taco Loco (shrimp and mahi) and they were so amazing! My mom said they may have been the best shrimp tacos she's ever had, and I may have to agree. Their mango salsa and volcano sauce is amazing!! My dad really liked their shrimp po boy as well. Drinks were good, especially the Coco Locco Mojito! 10/10, such a great find and we definitely plan to go back. They also have many gluten free options, including apps and entrees, and even 1 dessert! GF is marked on the menu!

The service was excellent and the food was out of this world. Love the vibe here like a time capsule. The only reason it isn't a 5 star is the place could use a renovation as it looks a little dated.

Looking for seafood with a view of the water and Lazy Turtle was it. It was windy and rainy so we couldn't sit outside at the Tiki Bar but we still had a view with good service! We had Fish and Chips with the best slaw I've had in a while and the Blackened Grouper sandwich! Superb!

We were in earlier this week. Our bartender Heather was amazing. Gave us lots of great advice about the menu as well as the drinks. We sat outside at the tiki bar and the view is amazing!! Tried the Ahi tuna nachos and boyyyyy they were delicious. We will definitely be back every time we are in the area. Heather made sure of that.

Came here for my birthday dinner and I really liked my volcano shrimp that was gluten free. I loved that out back they had a saxophone player it made for a really nice atmosphere. It is a nice little place on the river. It might not be somewhere I go all the time but for a special occasion it was nice. The server was nice and made sure we were okay through out our time there. My husband's drink was just a bit too strong but they did go back and change it and just make a virgin one for him. His food he wasn't super happy with that there was too much dressing on his sandwich. All in all it's a nice spot just not somewhere I would find myself frequenting.

Came here with our party of 10, including 5 kiddos. Got right in on at around 6:00 in a Friday, which could be a red flag. The Lazy Turtle turned out to be a great choice. Service was fast and accurate. The only problem was we ordered fish and chips from the kids menu, but received the adult portion. Our server noticed immediately and only charged us for the kids meal. The rest of the food was great, especially the blackened grouper, blackened Mahi and the sushi. They also had a singer that was perfect for dining hours on the deck during our meal. Great place!

The food was good and our server was very nice, but I think they must have been a little understaffed because I don't feel like he was around very much. We came for the views, but the wind was giving us a little bit of a hard time. In my party of 3 we each ordered a drink and an appetizer. I got the island blackened chicken nachos and they were huge, definitely enough to share between a few people. My friend got the lump crab cake bites and they were tasty. My cousin got the crispy volcano shrimp and they were good, your typical 'bang bang shrimp'

The name of this restaurant matches the service. Don't waste your time and money here. We arrived here sometime before 3p. Didn't leave this place until after 530p. The restaurant was empty at the time we arrived and left. Maybe 5 tables occupied the whole time. They took a few minutes to push some tables together for our party of 8 outside. After we sat down it took a long time for menus to get to us. Then it took a long time for us to get our waters and other drinks. Then our food order was taken another 10-15 mins later. 4p rolls around and no food. 430p rolls around and no food. We ordered a few sandwiches, soups, tacos and nachos. Nothing complicated or requiring anyone to go fish and hunt for our food in the ocean. One of us got up and searched for the server or manager and was told our food would be out shortly. 20 mins roll by and we get up and go check again. Then we notice the guy that was seated not too long ago at the bar got his nacho order. It was time to throw a fit. The family next to us got their food pretty late too. Kids got served first and parents food came out like 45 minutes later. We go in and try to cancel our food so we can leave because it was clear to us that a few people that had arrived way after us had got their food. So apparently according to the manager, there was an issue with the system and they had to key our order in 3 times!!! And none of the 2 managers were able to communicate this to us and tell us that there would be a delay in our food due to this. As 1 friend was talked to 1 manager, our food came out. This was after 5. When the waitress brought out our food, she told us that our food would be comped!!!! All of it. Except alcohol. That was fine. So then we inhaled our food in 5 minutes cause we were starving to death and ready to drive back home to Orlando and wanted to get the h*** out of there. Then it seemed like the 2 managers did not communicate with each other because one of them did not want to comp the entire meal. But the other manager said she would. Except for alcohol. We were already closed out and paid for all of our drinks and beers. Probably 16 drinks between all 8 of us. Left the waitress cash tips. They need to get their act together with their communication and their service. Horrendous service. I did enjoy my wedge salad and my lobster bisque though. But was not worth the wait.

So let's start with the reviews. Several commented on how the lazy turtles service was, well" slow as a turtle" ! Our service was excellent and considering Friday night at 7:00 pm prime time. Started with shrimp cocktail, not jump but large. Excellent sea food sauce. Could have been a couple additional shrimp for $19.95, the wedge side said wax huge and delicious. My spouse has the Hemingway with snapper was wonderful. My seafood paella was amazing . Scallops, shrimp, sausage and mussels. Ending a fine dinning experience with a 7 layer chocolate cake and a couple of coffees. Live entertainment, a fantastic view. And we will be back.

Forgot to take pics of the wedge salad and lobster bisque but phenomenal!!!! The staff here were so nice and attentive. What a great find just winging it. Thank you Debra for being an amazing waitress. We really enjoyed our meal here!!

We arrived and given the option to sit inside or outside. There was one table inside that had 4 people sitting at a table. We sat outside and there lots of open tables. We were seated for 25 minutes and all the servers just walked by. Our party of 5 got up and walked out. Other people outside heard our complaints and they said they had the worst service and the food took over an hour. This was a Saturday night at 8:30pm was not that busy with at least 5 servers. I hope that this was just a fluke, but we will see next time and I will update the post.

Lazy turtle is not lazy by no means! lol! The seafood is always fresh. We order grouper sandwiches but I forgot to take pics. I was so hungry and excited! Oops! But let me tell we order grouper sandwiches a lot when we go to the beaches all over the place but this one from here is over the top the freshest, the tenderest , juiciest and cooked to perfection every time. Order sweet potato fries and French fries crunchy and soft in the middle. Let me tell you about the raw oyster. You can't order 1 dz. Have to order 2 dz. Every time , Because they are that yummy! Nice size, Fresh, clean and goes down smoothly. That is everything you want. I am not a cocktails person but the cocktails are flavorful, fun and tasty. Definitely order a cocktail or share one. Margarita with splash of mango. passionfruit cocktail. The deserts are fresh, moist and full of yummy goodness. Presentation is lovely like you are being celebrated while you enjoy the water front view of dolphins, pelican frolicking in the water. Love all the option of seating indoor in a more casual dinning or outdoor under umbrellas or not to catch a ray of Sunshine on your skin while Listening to band depending what Time and day you visit. All the areas are fun and enjoyable with a view of the bay. There always a smiling host to great and happy to seat you. They all are knowledgeable, attentive and always happy to serve. They also have a long dock that goes into the bay that you can walk on after your meal and enjoy the bay. It is fun and relaxing. Go and enjoy.

You know "yellow dog" refers to a coward, right? You failed inspection horribly last week. I posted…read morea screenshot and I invite everyone to look for it on Florida Today to see the deplorable kitchen practices here the manager denies so many violations last week. We were victims to their awful cooking and mishandling food. I certainly do give good ratings for good restaurants as much as 1 star ratings for dives like yours. Plus your prices are absolutely insane if I have to leave hungry especially. My steak was overcooked and took too long to get it. 6 oz? You should call that a child's menu item with a side of mac and cheese. Just 6 miles south, The Old Fish House in Grant surpasses the food here, at a fraction of the price with the same damn river view as this uppity location. Vics is another gem in Sebastian, I've been here for 45 years, I know the area better than you. This Yellow Dog "Sample size" Cafe charges a fortune to put your life at risk with ignorant kitchen staff, how can you justify staying open? The country should shut you down! The decor manipulated their decision most likely. I'll look into it, I promise. People only go to this riverfront dive because they're pretentious, not because they expect good food and a drink. I really should have read the reviews and taken the poor 1 star as a big red flag to avoid this place. My date ordered an unrecognizable goo, and she wouldn't touch it. I wonder if we suffered these poor kitchen practices noted in your failed inspection? Thawing commercially processed Reduced Oxygen Packaging (ROP) or vacuum-sealed fish in its packaging is highly dangerous. The lack of oxygen combined with improper temperatures creates a perfect environment for Clostridium botulinum to grow and produce deadly toxins. You're charging customers to end up in the ER as a dining experience here. Nothing excuses that. Look for the screenshot, I sure can see it. I'll be over writing another review on Yelp so everyone can avoid the bacteria you create in your kitchen.

Living in Melbourne, I do not often drive that far south, but it was such a beautiful day that it felt like the perfect time to go. The waterside setting is wonderful and the outdoor dining creates a relaxing and scenic experience. I ordered the Reuben sandwich from the specials menu and it was excellent. It was very busy during our visit, which shows how popular the place is, but everything still came out tasting great. I was surprised to see the sandwich priced at over twenty four dollars on the final bill, so I would recommend being aware that some items can be on the pricey side. My husband had the hand breaded chicken tenders with french fries. He said both the tenders and the fries were excellent and the tenders were very large. We each ordered a cocktail. He had the Super Margarita - it was strong and very good. I had the Pusser's Painkiller. The flavor was great, but the chunks of coconut made it difficult to drink near the end because the straw kept pulling in the coconut pieces. It was not a complaint, more of a challenge, and I ended up not finishing it. The outdoor seating has plenty of picnic tables and high tops. We were seated at a high top and enjoyed the view, but the flies were overwhelming, which made that part a bit distracting. Even with that, the service was excellent and very friendly. Overall, it was a very good first visit with great food, strong cocktails, and a beautiful waterfront setting. I am glad we finally went and would return again, especially on a nice day.

Decent beach bar, but a little too kid-friendly for my taste…read more I came here hoping for dinner on the water, good music, the sound of the ocean, and maybe some friendly conversation with the locals. Instead, one of the main seating areas was partially taken over by strollers, toys, and other kid gear. I understand that restaurants can't control every family that visits, but the overall atmosphere felt more like a playground than a relaxing waterfront dining spot. To the staff's credit, my server was kind enough to move some of the strollers and toys so I could get a seat. Unfortunately, it had just rained and the chairs were still soaked. While I appreciated her making room for me, it would have been nice if someone had also taken a moment to wipe down the seat before it was offered to me. Instead, I had the unpleasant experience of sitting in a sopping wet chair and spent my evening here with a soggy backside, which definitely put a damper on the experience... Pun intended. I ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, which was good, although I was a little surprised to receive it in a plastic cup. Maybe that's standard here, but it wasn't what I expected. For dinner, I tried the mahi tacos after seeing them mentioned in several reviews. The fish itself was good, but the tacos were absolutely covered in sauce, to the point that it drowned out the taste of everything else. Also, thatsynot what they looked like on the reviews I saw. If I knew they would have so much sauce (or any sauce actually) I would ordered it on the side. I ended up removing most of the sauce-drenched toppings just to taste the fish. I also requested a side salad and was told the only option available for a side salad was a Caesar... despite several salads being listed on the menu. I guess it was too hard to toss some salad greens into a bowl with a side if vinaigrette The parking situation is also very confusing. All the spaces indicate that parking is for guests and there is signage along the fence threatening to tow anyone who parks along the fence. I had to call the restaurant to confirm where guests could park (along the fence, as long as it is not overnight or just to go to the beach) and fortunately my car was still there when I returned from dinner. Overall, the food was decent and the waterfront location is nice. If you're looking for a casual, family-friendly beach bar, this may be a fit. However, if you're hoping for a quieter place to unwind after work or enjoy a peaceful dinner by the water, you definitely want to look elsewhere.

In homage to the adage, "misery loves company", Big boy invited the newest member of the Big Boy Dining Out Family (BBDO), Chef X. Chef is a fellow, well-known Brevard County connoisseur of local cuisine. Echoing the general sentiments of our cohorts, he asked, "how often do you run into food like this?" I answered, "It's far rarer to discover 4-or 5-star quality fare." Keisha, our server, was the one lone person who was on top of things; although, I'd argue that it's exceedingly easy to accomplish such a feat, when there is quite frankly nothing to serve. We made several attempts to order numerous menu items, but our pursuits were fruitless, our efforts in vain. I felt like a Yeth encroaching on unfamiliar territory. Nonetheless and not to be deterred, I cautiously altered course asking instead, "What Do you have?" We were presented with fried oysters, on the verge of spoilage, brown stewed chicken and curry chicken. Both: terrible. Big Boy says, "bashing a locally owned business? Yes...the food is horrendous but hey...at least they were open 30 minutes late."
