Delicious meal last Saturday night. Bacon wrapped filet with shrimp and scallion potatoes. French onion soup. Excellent restaurant and fantastic service. Highly recommend

I teetered on 3 or 4 stars. Then, I compared the 4 star places that I've been to and realized a few things. First off, let me start by saying I did enjoy our stop and I was starving. They didn't have a drink menu available right away which wasn't that big of a deal as we sat outside and I'm sure that area isn't a priority to keep their menu cards placed. The person who sat us could tell they were busy so she did start us off with water. Then our waiter came a few minutes later and started us off with special then brought us warm bread - which was really good! I did choose a berry smash drink and we started with crab dip. The crab dip can't ever be messed up; there's so many variations. This one has bread crumbs on top. I think, for being a crab dip expert, when the crab did is creamier and soup like, you need a bread or baguette. When the crab dip is thicker, you need a big soft pretzel. Either way...it was decent but def recommend more crustinis. Not enough for the amount of dip. I went with the special, then I ordered. ( :) ) a 6oz steak, atop spaghetti squash and a potato and leek pancake with soft shell crab. The best part about this were the good bits of the steak and the potato pancake. Not sure on the crab and squash. Still ate it though. Dessert was on the docket so we (I) chose the blonde brownie which was devoured. Good way to make up from the crab. That dessert was warm on the inside with the ice cream !!!! Huge for me. And the view was pretty, I could stare at it for a lifetime. Then he turns red. I really enjoyed the little stroll and sit by the lake. It's what I'd call prefect timing cause the sun was setting during our dinner and it was dusk by the time we sat by the lake.

Waiting over an hour for burgers in an empty restaurant. Ridiculous. So disappointed can't even comment on the weird food.

Visited 29 JUL 24 We stayed in Frostburg a couple years ago,…read morehere to bike ride on the GAP trail. I instantly liked the town. The little section of downtown Main Street where The Toasted Goat is located reminds me of the little towns depicted in Hallmark movies. The area does need some revitalization, a little sprucing up, and fresh businesses but the potential is certainly there. The Toasted Goat is adjacent to a historic hotel, the Gunter Hotel. The first star of this restaurant is the place itself. If you like turn of the century buildings, that ornate stonework, you will like this place. The inside, except for a few too many TV screens, has retained the "Speakeasy" look that it used to be. Our server, was very good, he even has a "period" look with the handlebar mustache and suspenders. Our sandwiches did take a little longer than I thought they should have at 1300 on a Monday. The colorful metal tall chairs that have at the tables likely work fine for college kids and other slender lightweight folk, but were a bit uncomfortable for us. We moved to a table near the front window that had lower chairs with traditional padding. My wife got a Turkey Rueben and I tried the New Orleans Muffaletta. We both had fires, standard but well prepared. He turkey sandwich was good, she felt the braised cabbage versus a traditional sauerkraut actually had a bit of sauerkraut tang to it- she still liked it. I have never had a Muffaletta, but I have seen them on the food shows. This didn't quite look like those, certainly not substantial like the TV ones. It was however tasty and enough for lunch. We got out for $41 and a $10 tip...so a little steep, but that's where pricing is these days. Worth the stop, would come here again if we are back in the area.

Stopped in for lunch on a weekday . The restaurant is in a hotel…read more The restaurant wasn't busy there were only a handful of people there. I had a local IPA on tap which was very tasty. The service was friendly and speedy. I had a panini rueben which was amazing! Nice and crusty as it should be on the outside and delicious! The fries are homemade and done right!

They don't generally have food beyond a few snacks, but it seems like they try to have a food truck around during busy times. In terms of the beer, I really appreciated the wide selection. This wasn't the type of place that serves 10 different IPAs with everything else being an afterthought. They had a dunkel, an American wheat, a festbier, an American style oktoberfest (seasonally), plus many others. The beer was generally good, but not always exceptional. I'm also very opinionated around beer, so take that with a grain of salt. Overall, this was a nice find. It made for a fun afternoon while I was in the area.

We made a stop here on a recent visit to Bedford Springs while we were staying at the Omni resort…read more We mostly stayed on property but wanted to explore town on our last day. As soon as I saw this place, it seemed like the perfect mix of everything we love. Several of the businesses in downtown Bedford are closed on Sunday so I was thrilled to see this spot stayed open late, especially for a small town. I came here with my partner and two kids. They were super kid friendly and were so kind to us during our stay. My partner and I got wine, and loved there was a happy hour special which I didn't even realize when ordering. The owner was very friendly and let us try several wines before committing, which I always appreciate. We lived in California for over 15 years, recently making our way back to the east coast. I could tell the selection was really thought through. And was excited to see that they carried a bottle from one of my favorite vineyards in the much overlooked Paso Robles wine region of southern California. The space is very comfy inside with plenty of seating options including plush chairs and couches as well as traditional table seating. We grabbed a spot on the couch and had the best time playing the many games they offer to visitors. My kids were hungry and devoured the cheese and charcuterie plate. They also were very amused by putting together a giant puzzle as well as getting a tour of the on-site art studio where an artist was working during our visit. This was truly a highlight of our time in Bedford. We hope that we can get back again soon to experience it again.

It's been an adventure watching downtown Bedford grow as a culinary community. Once upon a time, not even all that long ago, the idea of finding a great bottle of wine from a well curated selection would have been unheard of. Yet, that is what awaits at Composition. Even better... every bottle that is on the shelf is available to taste! The secret is their wine tap set up, which can pull samples from bottles and replace the volume with inert gas. Which also means Composition has a killer wine-by-the-glass program. Bravo! I was able to pick up a bottle of Seghesio Zinfandel. Just know that the selection isn't huge. But there will be folks who can help you find something you love. It's not a place to go in looking for something specific, but rather to go in with some ideas and be open to the possibilities. Next time, I would love to stay for a glass in their cozy and homey tasting room, and try some of the cheeses and meats they have on offer. They have imported comte, and will happily send you off with a quarter pound of sliced bresaola... in Bedford! What I love is that Bedford is no longer a one horse town with the Italian import store across the street. It's marvelous to see more options for folks to expand their culinary horizons. Outside of Bedford, Composition may be closer to a 4* wine bar, but they are getting a bonus point for bravely opening in a place that isn't exactly a wine town, and bringing some big love to the block.
