a glass of beer on a coaster

New establishment, just opened in July! My husband and I made a U Turn to check this place out while driving to Flight 93 Memorial. There was a food truck serving BBQ on a Sunday, and there were a good bit of people here enjoying the beer. The woman working behind the bar was so kind and helpful and gave my husband several large beer samples before he actually ordered something. He had the winter lager, and said it was amazing! Unfortunately, they didn't have that exact beer "to to" but they had plenty of others to choose from. The layout and decor was really nice, and very clean. I wish this business the best of luck, it is in a great location (right on Lincoln Highway) and everyone there seemed very passionate about the beer they were brewing! I heard a few people talking about updates on their Facebook page, I would check that out for events and updates!

Upon entering, you're greeted by an intimate ambiance that immediately sets the stage for a memorable experience. The brewery's modest size adds to its charm, fostering an inviting atmosphere where patrons can connect over their shared love for craft beer. Despite its size, packs a punch with its beer selection. From the moment you peruse the menu, it's evident that quality takes precedence here. Each brew is crafted with care and attention to detail, resulting in a lineup that's sure to please even the most discerning palate. During my visit, I had the pleasure of sampling several of their offerings, and I was thoroughly impressed. From crisp lagers to robust stouts, each beer showcased a unique flavor profile that left me craving more. Standouts included their [mention specific standout beers], which demonstrated the brewmaster's skill and creativity. This brewery has been on my radar for quite some time, and we finally seized the opportunity to pay it a visit. Having opened its doors in July 2022, it's nearing its second anniversary. I'm already looking forward to returning, particularly during the summer months. The beers we sampled were all delightful. Upon the owner's recommendation, we tried the cream ale, and I inquired if it was a flagship brew. To my surprise, he mentioned it was a recent creation, and it truly impressed. The cream ale was exceptional, showcasing the brewery's knack for crafting distinct flavors. Additionally, the hazy beer left a lasting impression with its delightful juiciness, striking a perfect balance of flavors. They had a root beer that is non-alcoholic that I was hoping they canned to take home to my son. Unfortunately he said it's easy to make but difficult to can. Right now it's served only on the tap. We will need to bring him with us next visit.

If you are in the area you MUST STOP HERE!! We were passing through and considered staying just to have more beer. Styles were on point, server/owners were knowledgeable and friendly, and it was a great place to just hang. We've been to over 500 breweries and this one is in the top 10 of experiences. Do not miss it!

Fantastic spot to have a drink! We stopped after going to the Flight 93 memorial on a recommendation from someone in Bedford. Great owners who were friendly and open to chatting with us. Had the Pumpkin White Russian which was super delicious!! Loved the names of the drinks and beers... the owner is very creative! They even have t-shirts and glasses...bought those as souvenirs. We were glad we stopped!

Maybe not that big a deal, but a lot of the Pour Tour locations don't have their own parking so this' is a big plus. I love the atmosphere inside. Rustic, but with some modern flair. A bit dark, but also light enough to see what you need to see. There are a variety of seating options including standard tables, high tops and seating at the bar. I chose to sit at the bar since I was there on my own. My server was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. She shared information about the winery and some of the most popular wine and food items. After sampling several, I settled on a glass of the playhouse red blend and one of their specials - a grilled cheese and tomato bisque. The soup was creamy and delicious and the grilled cheese comfort food perfection. Food came out fairly quickly and my server was attentive to my needs without being pushy. I really enjoyed my experience here and will definitely be back, hopefully for one of their events or maybe a visit in their fun looking igloos.

Also, they don't just have wine!! We were recommended the Italian hoagie and Italian wedding soup. Both were INCREDIBLE!!! It was my first time having that kind of soup and it really set the bar high. We had people check in on us constantly and made sure we liked our food, our drinks, and the sports on TV. It was an incredibly inviting environment and it makes me wish I lived closer. I would absolutely be a regular if I lived nearby. Also, it was so very cozy inside!! Perfect for the winter! All in all, don't sleep on this place.

We made a stop here on a recent visit to Bedford Springs while we were staying at the Omni resort…read more We mostly stayed on property but wanted to explore town on our last day. As soon as I saw this place, it seemed like the perfect mix of everything we love. Several of the businesses in downtown Bedford are closed on Sunday so I was thrilled to see this spot stayed open late, especially for a small town. I came here with my partner and two kids. They were super kid friendly and were so kind to us during our stay. My partner and I got wine, and loved there was a happy hour special which I didn't even realize when ordering. The owner was very friendly and let us try several wines before committing, which I always appreciate. We lived in California for over 15 years, recently making our way back to the east coast. I could tell the selection was really thought through. And was excited to see that they carried a bottle from one of my favorite vineyards in the much overlooked Paso Robles wine region of southern California. The space is very comfy inside with plenty of seating options including plush chairs and couches as well as traditional table seating. We grabbed a spot on the couch and had the best time playing the many games they offer to visitors. My kids were hungry and devoured the cheese and charcuterie plate. They also were very amused by putting together a giant puzzle as well as getting a tour of the on-site art studio where an artist was working during our visit. This was truly a highlight of our time in Bedford. We hope that we can get back again soon to experience it again.

It's been an adventure watching downtown Bedford grow as a culinary community. Once upon a time, not even all that long ago, the idea of finding a great bottle of wine from a well curated selection would have been unheard of. Yet, that is what awaits at Composition. Even better... every bottle that is on the shelf is available to taste! The secret is their wine tap set up, which can pull samples from bottles and replace the volume with inert gas. Which also means Composition has a killer wine-by-the-glass program. Bravo! I was able to pick up a bottle of Seghesio Zinfandel. Just know that the selection isn't huge. But there will be folks who can help you find something you love. It's not a place to go in looking for something specific, but rather to go in with some ideas and be open to the possibilities. Next time, I would love to stay for a glass in their cozy and homey tasting room, and try some of the cheeses and meats they have on offer. They have imported comte, and will happily send you off with a quarter pound of sliced bresaola... in Bedford! What I love is that Bedford is no longer a one horse town with the Italian import store across the street. It's marvelous to see more options for folks to expand their culinary horizons. Outside of Bedford, Composition may be closer to a 4* wine bar, but they are getting a bonus point for bravely opening in a place that isn't exactly a wine town, and bringing some big love to the block.

We went on Valentine's Day, and the evening started our wonderful, with cocktails at the bar and the lovely touch of the owner's grandson gifting a red rose to the ladies. But then the food came. It was a set menu priced $99 per person. All was going well, until one of our entrees arrived, and they sent out raw chicken. Not slightly questionable - clearly still raw. I wouldn't expect that at Denny's never mind a fine dining establishment. The server was apologetic and took the other plate back into the kitchen to keep it warm so that we could eat together. When the food came back out, my husband's crab cakes had gone dry. On my plate, they had simply removed the raw chicken - not finished cooking it or replacing it, but removed it so that there were only two small pieces of chicken, and a huge pile of gnocchi and a huge mess on the plate where they had not taken the time to clean it up. Which was obviously disappointing. When the bill came, my husband questioned whether something should have been taken off the check based on our experience. The owner came over and eventually took $100 off the bill, which was absolutely fine. But then she concluded with "are you satisfied now, because I would like your table back to give to someone else". I don't recall an owner ever being so rude to a couple who have just spent $400 in a restaurant. Customers spending that kind of money should never feel rushed or spoken to like that (we still had half a bottle of wine, which we might have finished there had our experience been different). All she did was encourage us to write this review and ensure that we will never go back.

We've eaten dinner at the bar twice and once in the restaurant and enjoyed it thoroughly...the staff is so friendly and helpful, especially the bartender Jennifer. The food was delicious -- I had a filet mignon which was cooked perfectly and my husband had a ribeye which has fantastic flavor but was a tad overcooked. The wine list is good, but I'd love to see more options. The restaurant is warm and inviting and has a great vibe. Parking on the street or in the lot across the street is super convenient. This is becoming one of our favorite spots.
