Recently, we booked a reservation at Le Ame, the Parisian Steakhouse in Sam Fox's new Global Ambassador Hotel, to celebrate our two-year anniversary. The restaurant boasts a classic open kitchen, an elegant dining room, and a well-polished staff. Our much-anticipated day arrived yesterday. Despite being a bit late for our 6:30 pm reservation, we were seated promptly. While waiting, I couldn't help but notice the two hostesses at the podium, dressed in cute red outfits. However, the blond waitress's dress appeared rather wrinkled, leaving me surprised that the restaurant didn't enforce a dress code. Despite specifying our anniversary on the reservation, no one inquired about our celebration. Fortunately, our server, Juliette, provided excellent service, ensuring our glasses were filled without prompting. The food, including Paris Baguette, Tuna Carpaccio, Caesar Salad, Loup De Mar, 7oz Fillet Mignon, Creamed Spinach, and Butter Whipped Potato, was tasty but a bit too rich for my taste. The Tuna Carpaccio stood out as excellent, and both the Branzino and fillet were perfectly cooked. While the creamed spinach was overly cheesy and congealed when no longer hot, the butter whipped potato was delightfully smooth. Opting for dessert, we sought Juliette's advice and settled on the Chocolate Tart, only to find it overly rich, resembling a softened chocolate bar. We exchanged it for a scoop of dark chocolate ice cream. Despite the restaurant's loud ambiance, our overall dining experience was good but not outstanding. Would I return? My friends and I decided to celebrate a birthday with a delightful Sunday brunch at Le Ame. As we were seated, we were greeted with a warm smile by our host--I can't recall her name, but she had blond hair styled in a ponytail. If that helps, lol. We started our culinary journey with the duck fat hash browns. Oh my goodness, they were crispy brown goodness with a side of truffle sauce. It was simply divine! I opted for the quiche, while another friend chose the French breakfast, and another ordered the egg Benedicts with ham. Each dish was a mouthwatering delight. To complement our meals, we indulged in a variety of coffees, each one more delicious than the last. Then, we arrived at the pièce de résistance--the pan crepes. They were light, flaky, and served with a side of whipped cream, maple syrup, and jam. I couldn't resist having another one! Finally, we were treated to the crème brûlée, a creamy and smooth dessert that left us utterly satisfied. We are beyond disappointed with our recent experience at Le Ame. We had a reservation at 7:45 for a big birthday dinner for a family member, and what should have been a joyous occasion turned into a frustrating and embarrassing ordeal. Despite having a reservation, we were forced to wait over 45 minutes to never be seated, while other customers were prioritized ahead of us. To make matters worse, the hostess showed an absolute lack of professionalism by laughing at us during our wait, which only added insult to injury. This behavior is completely unacceptable and disrespectful, especially when we were trying to celebrate a special occasion. When we brought the situation to the attention of the general manager, Michael Elortegui, we expected a prompt and satisfactory resolution. Unfortunately, his handling of the situation was severely lacking. Rather than addressing our concerns, he continued to prioritize other customers, continued to say 3-5 minutes only for another 10 minutes to pass after another 10 minutes to pass up until 45 minutes after our previously booked reservation time -- leaving us feeling neglected and unvalued. This experience was a significant letdown, and it's clear that customer service is not a priority at Le Ame. We won't be returning, and I strongly advise others to think twice before dining here if they value their time and want to be treated with respect. read more

A Wonderful Brunch Experience for the Whole Family We first visited this restaurant for dinner shortly after it opened but hadn't been back in a while. This time, we came with a large group for brunch--and we're so glad we did! The private dining room was absolutely beautiful and perfect for our group, especially with kids in tow. It gave us a great space to enjoy our meal together while letting the little ones move around freely (without our toddler making a great escape!). Our server, Jose, was outstanding--knowledgeable, attentive, and incredibly friendly. The service overall was top-notch, and the food was absolutely delicious. Every dish exceeded our expectations. One of the highlights was the beautiful outdoor area adjacent to the dining space. While we waited for our food, the kids (mostly tweens) went outside to play and do cartwheels. The staff was not only accommodating but genuinely sweet and welcoming to them, which made the experience even more special. My wife and I live in Phoenix and were fortunate to receive an invitation for dinner at Le Ame restaurant at the Globe Ambassador hotel. I had dined prior for lunch so I was looking forward to their dinner experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening. The menu offers a host of choices to fit a variety of palates. My whole Dover Sole was cooked to perfection and my wife said her meal was wonderful. The service was excellent. Unobtrusive yet professional and the server was extremely knowledgeable. We were also fortunate to have chosen a particularly good wine. Love their wine choices. It was a busy Friday evening so the volume was on the loud side but I liked the bustle and in no way did it spoil our evening. The decor is classy without being stuffy and every table enjoys a view of both the open kitchen and the beautiful garden. The next morning we decided to have Breakfast/Brunch at Le Ame as well and were delighted with the service, well presented food, all washed down with the not often found and wonderful Billecart-Salmon Champagne. Le Âme is located inside a hotel, and while the ambiance is nice and the service overall was friendly, the experience left a lot to be desired. One major issue was with our appetizers -- they were mistakenly delivered to the table next to ours, and one of the guests there touched the food before the staff realized the error and brought it to us. That was incredibly off-putting and honestly, unacceptable. As for the food itself: the baked potato and truffle fries were probably the highlights -- both flavorful and well-prepared. The Paris baguette served with butter and olive oil was also a nice touch. The mac and cheese was just average -- nothing special. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal missed the mark. The steak was overly fatty, and I wouldn't order it again. The wagyu bolognese was especially disappointing -- lacking both in flavor and quality. All in all, despite a few good bites and decent service, the food missteps and the issue with how our appetizer was handled left a bad impression. I wouldn't return. read more

My wife made reservations to celebrate my 69th birthday. The food was very good, and the service was great. We enjoyed ourselves on the outdoor patio. The weather was not bad and they had space heaters to warm the area. Though I had a good time and the food was very good, I will probably not come back. I do not like very loud spaces, especially when I am dining. I miss the days when you could actually speak to the people at your table without having to shout. Couldn't even hear the waiter at our table, and we were outside in the patio. I realize that I am probably not their target market. It seemed to me to be a place for a much younger crowd. If you are looking for a place that is loud, younger people, scantily dressed women, and boisterous men, then this is the place for you. If you do not mind spending $600 for dinner for two, in a place with great food and a very loud atmosphere, then this restaurant is for you. read more
