What went well? Everything! From the moment we walked in and Cora greeted us, our severTraver, who rolled with my dad's jokes and the fabulous food that was served. I can honestly say, EVERYTHING, was fantastic! We decided to share all our dishes which was really the best way to experience this restaurant. We shared the Beef Kafta, the shakshuka and humus (pita comes with and is fresh and warm), fried feta with roasted tomatoes and honey, and the salmon and the beef carpaccio. Of course, never one to say no to dessert especially if everyone I'm with is willing to share, we decided to indulge in the chocolate layered cake and the baklava cheese cake. The service was fabulous! Cora was welcoming and kind (dad was not having the best day after chemo), Trevor was attentive and laughed at all of our silliness, and James the manager was lovely. This gentlemen with his mindblowing arrogance wouldn't even acknowledge us after me and my date were having a discussion about Croatia which is in the menu.. I really wanted to try the Croatia wine.. naturally I was excited and so was he. I asked if I could have one drink after us wondering why what was up because he literally wouldn't come back.. so I asked the guy next to me.. what's he drinking and if I could have a drink.. The waiter who was seemingly in early twenties said he wasn't going to serve Me... Sir I have had one drink, the man to my left our first date doesn't drink. I have never in my life been told that I was too inebriated to have a glass of wine. Even he was taken back by the experience in a feeble attempt to embarrass myself in front of the man who obviously was not ordering. You failed. You should not work in hospitality because are not hospitable you are very arrogant and rude. I will be sure to give everyone the lovely feedback on my experience and good luck losing customers over this. Me, nor my company, friends, family, will ever visit your establishment. Ooof I wanted to like this place so much! Stopped by during brunch on the 4th for their all-day $4 spritz specials. Drinks and service were great, but the food totally missed the mark. Started with the artichoke hummus + pita ($15). The hummus texturally was lush and smooth, but absolutely no flavor. Cubes of artichoke were sprinkled around...but other than that, there was no artichoke incorporated. The pita was honestly disappointing...not sure it even deserves to be called pita. Very doughy, no puff in the middle (was it overproofed...was the yeast forgotten??), with zero char/color; visually and texturally, it resembled a large, undercooked english muffin. For brunch mains, we both got the beef kafta ($26), which comes with 2 fried eggs, potato wedges, and arugula salad. The two eggs eclipse the beef patty, which was completely underseasoned and overcooked. Potato wedges were very good, super crispy and tender, and the arugula salad and eggs were good (but how can you really mess that up). We started with the Sant'Andrea Spritz (HUGE and easily our favorite of the bunch), followed by Take Me to Othos (grapefruit x tequila), then the Huge Spritz (huge, glorified lemonade). I finished with the refreshing Sailboats & Trains (cucumber) which was a perfect close to the meal. Four drink maximum per guest btw... The atmosphere, ambiance and service are all great, don't get me wrong. The decoration is very euro-inspired, and the open kitchen is a nice touch. The food is very beautifully delivered, but that was all that was delivered - no flavor, no seasoning, no consistency. I feel like once Pinyon brings their food quality to meet everything else, they'd be an unbeatable spot. In the meantime, I will likely not come back solely for mains. Pro-tip: The skewers come with your choice of dipping sauce, but you can ask for a sampler of all of them for free. If you're doing a celebration, they give you a small box of four chocolate truffles. The parking garage nearby is free. Highlights: I think Pinyon is a top restaurant in the valley for sure. I've been here twice, but I have very little complaints with the food. My favorites are the chicken skewers which are so tender and juicy and I love the lentil rice that comes with it. The shareable hummusiya platter is really fun. I usually like to get one hummus, the baba ghanoush and the pistachio labneh if they have it. The lobster salad is also really refreshing and delicious. I love the variety of foods that's offered here. The service is also exceptional and they are so kind and attentive. We were celebrating a birthday and they let us bring in a cake and were so on top of bringing us extra cutlery and dishes and even keeping the box for us in case we had leftovers. Lowlights: It's definitely a spendier meal than usual - I would come for celebrations and not just a casual dinner. I think the least worth it items are the patatas bravas because you only get six, the chicken schnitzel because it's a very small portion, the shashuka was overwhelmingly salty. Absolutely loved dining here! All the food we got were delicious and I cannot wait to go back to try out other items! The hummusiya is a must get!! It seems like they change this daily and we had five options to choose from. We ended up with the marinated artichoke hummus, baba ganoush, and pistachio labneh. The linguine and clam dish was very delicious! The noodles were al dente and the clams were good sizes. Or were. Filet mignon came with rice, greens, and tomatoes. If too rare, they are able to heat it back up to your comfort level. Only thing I was disappointed in were the oysters. We got 6 oysters and all of them had sand in it. When we asked the server they said the oyster types we got are like that.... I love oysters, but having the two types we picked didn't convince me to want more. Parking was easy to find. Amazing meal accompanied by top service. We were there 3ish hours and were never rushed out. Although it's blistering hot and 100+ degrees, the indoor/outdoor area is surprisingly chilly. They blast the misters and fans, but they do it in a way where it's not dropping water all over. The space is beautiful. We absolutely loved our experience at Pinyon! This is a great spot for dinner with friends or date night, with an upscale Mediterranean feel. They have great indoor and outdoor seating (with misters for when it's hot hot hot out). Our table shared a couple of small plates and got some entrees, so with such a variety of food, I got a great feel for the quality of this restaurant. To start we tried the hummus with steak and hummus with roasted artichokes that came with fresh pita bread - the one with the filet and roasted garlic was my favorite. We also got a shrimp dish that was super garlicky and delicious. My friend and I also thought we couldn't leave without some oysters so we each enjoyed a Pacific and an Atlantic. Pinyon was POPPING on a Friday night! I had reservations for 7:15pm and my party of 3 was not seated until 7:40pm. I also had to ask the hostess twice for a check in and told her exactly where we were seated outside. Then somebody came to seat us and mentioned she couldn't find us but I neither heard her ever call names and I told her we told the hostess exactly where we were seated- so communication between the hostess stand seemed off & hectic . I've been wanting to try out Pinyon since it is part of the BnR family tree and it did not disappoint! My friend and I came here during Sunday brunch time, ordered a couple of cocktails (can't remember the name but it was blanco + grapefruit with a greek liquer) and some great bites. We started with the artichoke hummus which was really delicious. Great consistency, flavor and you get a good amount to share. We also ordered the yellowtail crudo which had a tremendous amount of flavor. It came with a pistachio drizzle and golden berries, plus fresh greens. For entrees we got the beef kafta with eggs. My newest favorite restaurant is Pinyon! We came here this past weekend and we were so pleasantly impressed with all the food, service and ambiance of this place. The apps are all delicious in my opinion. The theme is Mediterranean food and appeals to the healthier side but this does not mean the flavor is compromised. My recommendation is try the pistachio lebneh which is a nice refreshing dip to share. The tuna tartare is light and delicious. I ordered the filet skewer and loved it but I tried my friend's dish which was the turbot with slaw and I would get this next time. There is no bad dish in my opinion. Wow...there are many items on the menu that I would like to try! This is unusual for me but I am looking forward to come back to try different dishes. We walked in and were able to walk straight to sit at the bar. The seafood, oysters and scallops, are so fresh. I could not resist the Sunday brunch menu because it had beef kafta with eggs. Love this place and it's been only 2 times that I've gone! First time went through a reservation. This is definitely a must if you're planning to go on a weekend for dinner! And then got some lamb shakshuka: really flavorful and tender lamb meatballs. Got an ounce of Iberico ham that came with crunchy crostini and refreshing tomato. Loved the amount of crostinis but the ounce of ham was super slim - they're basically thinly shaved slices. Wish it was more. Nonetheless still tasty if you appreciate the real deal. Also tried the turbot fish - great piece of soft white fish, yummy! Gambas (shrimp) were delicious with the garlic profile. The Loup de Mer was my fave fish- another soft white fish. They cook it perfectly! They have kids menu available. Got the cheeseburger with potato wedges. A little well done for me with a burnt piece. Dessert: get the tiramisu to share! We sat at the bar upstairs which had a great open atmosphere to enjoy the weather. The food was great. We had the hummus, carpaccio and fried feta. Great first impression at Pinyon! My boyfriend and I were in the area without dinner plans. Obviously we found ourselves on Yelp and saw positive reviews for Pinyon. So we decided to check them out. We went on a Thursday evening around 6pm and they were extremely busy. Definitely recommend a reservation for this one. We had about a 20 minute wait for first available seating - which was at the upstairs bar. The restaurant itself is super open and connected to the outdoors. The ground level has a large patio. The upstairs is completely open as well thanks to its sliding floor-to-ceiling doors. On a warm spring evening this resulted in immaculate vibes. Not sure what they do during the summer however - I imagine it would be too hot to have everything open. We took advantage of their Happy Hour kitchen specials, starting with the Chicken Schnitzel, Salmon Carpaccio, and Raw Bar Scallops. For entrees we got the Saffron Risotto and the Pan Roasted Chicken. Lastly, for dessert we shared the Baklava Cheesecake. All the food was excellent. It's very hard to choose a favorite bite, but if I had to pick - the Risotto and the Baklava Cheesecake would be my winners. Our server was friendly and explained the menu well. Wow! We came to Pinyon to celebrate my wife's 1st Mother's Day and this restaurant was amazing! It's a 2 story restaurant and we opted for the upstairs area (which we recommend if you want intimate vibes). This Coastal Mediterranean restaurant has the perfect hummus, chicken, and fish dishes you could ask for. Mixed cocktails are fantastic too, but perhaps the best part of this restaurant is the wonderful and friendly staff who are very helpful in picking out your entrees based off your preferences. I've tried a variety of items such as different kinds of hummus, house-made pita, shrimp kebab, cacio e pepe with shrimp, seared feta and tomato, crudo, ribeye, and more. I have never had anything bad from Pinyon. Everything is flavorful and portions are decent. My favorite and is a must is the hummus and pita. I could happily make a meal out of that. The look was so nice and bright with the yellow umbrellas outside and the open door concept to have a view of the outside but still sitting inside. I came here for a birthday celebration for a friend. I was greeted upon arrival by the friendly staff. At 11:30am the place was seated with a few tables. By 12-12:30 the restaurant was filled. Things ordered: -Cold Creek pacific oysters - fresh and a good starter -Iberico Jamon- which is a cured ham from the black Iberian pig. Similar to prosciutto but way better. We ordered 1oz but it looks more like 1/2 oz to us. There were 4 super thin slices and I think 1 oz should have been more like 6-8 slices. The portion of jamon to bread with tomato ratio didn't quite match but nonetheless it was delicious. -Gambas al Ajillo- this is garlic brown buttered oiishii shrimp with crusty bread. Oh so yummy especially with all the garlic. -Shakshuka- on the menu this said it has simmered tomatoes, poached eggs and pork chorizo for $22 but when we got it it was simmered tomatoes with what tasted like lamb meatballs. Really good but we were so confused as to why there was no egg and no taste of chorizo. We kept eating since it tasted good. Later when we got the bill it said lamb shakshuka for $29. This should have been explained by the chef, staff or server as this was blindly charged to us. We still loved the food but could have said something to us about it. - Filet of Turbot- this is a white fish dish with beet chermoula (which has different spices and beets for the sauce) and Lebanese slaw. Love a fish dish any day. - tiramisu - a large rectangle soaked with some alcohol that isn't fully baked in so it had a good strong taste. This was creamy and decadent and to be shared. Birthday friend received a box of vanilla macaroons. They were hard shelled they fell into pieces. Lovely gesture by Pinyon. All in all service was excellent and food was worth going again. We recently had lunch here with friends on a Sunday. The weather was beautiful so we enjoyed the patio. Reservations are highly recommended. The patio is a nice size and reminds me of Europe. The hummus was highly recommended with the fresh pita. I'm afraid they have ruined all other pita for me because omg it was SO good. Fluffy and warm with a slight sear. We really enjoyed the labneh and spiced olive hummus dips. We tried the arugula salad and the eggplant dish. Both were full of flavor and very unique. The eggplant is breaded/fried so a little on the heavier side but the portion is just right. Others in the group enjoyed cacio pepe and mushroom skewers. I have to admit that I was not expecting to rave about this place because of how loud and busy it was at 7:30 pm on a Thursday. We were seated close to the door and the host desk which was crawling with people waiting to be seated and at first we thought this is going to be terrible. But we were WRONG! The crowds quickly dissipated and our lovely waitress turned things around very quickly with a welcoming smile and hospitable attitude. After the first 10 minutes our evening just kept getting better and better. The food was truly amazing. We shared the beef carpaccio, Ibérico Jamón, and one of the hummus flavors. All were spectacular. For dinner, the grilled turbot and the lobster ravioli were exquisite. I had the linguini with clams which was perfectly cooked and tasted incredible, and my wife really enjoyed the risotto. The grand finale was the baklava cheesecake which was out of this world. Although the restaurant was full with a wait list that went on past 9:00 pm, we never felt rushed, or hurried. The service was timed perfectly and the staff were super accommodating. Such a great Mediterranean concept! The space is beautiful with indoor, outdoor, and rooftop seating, which makes it a really fun spot whether you're stopping by for happy hour or a full dinner. The happy hour is phenomenal and the fact that they offer it on weekends (bar seating only) makes it even better. I visited Pinyon on Easter Sunday and it was fantastic! They're from the same creators as Buck & Riders and it definitely shows in the seafood quality and service. The food selections included a raw bar, hummus menu, and several shareables and entrees. My absolute favorite was the HUMMUS, especially the spiced olive and feta one. I honestly could've just eaten the pita and hummus for my whole meal. The pita bread is fresh and warm too. The gambas de ajillo were also yummy--I was soaking up the sauce with the bread even after finishing the shrimp. The entrees were all delicious as well. What an absolutely lovely Mediterranean restaurant! This spot was recommended to me by many locals. The restaurant is half indoor and half outdoor. I chose to sit outdoors next to the fountain, partially covered by the shade of the umbrella. The day was sunny and gorgeous. The decor is absolutely stunning. Initially, when I sat down, a server didn't come to greet me for over 10 minutes. However, after that, everything was smooth. I ordered the organic chicken chicken skewers with a side of Brussels sprouts and tzatziki. The portions are very large so be mindful of this when you're ordering. This is quite a wonderful spot. This is my second time and I can say I appreciated this visit more so than the first! The server was fantastic, a perfect balance of attentive without making you feel like you couldn't have a conversation. The food is amazing (although I am sad they took the sea bass off the menu). The overall ambiance is spot on with a mix of elegance and sensuality. It is a little pricy, but the everyday happy hour (5-7pm) is a nice touch and helps out! Sorry, Raymond, but I am going to disagree with your review of the Pinyon. I had the lobster ravioli and it was top five meals of my life. Soft pillows of pasta filled with perfectly prepared lobster in a light and buttery sauce. Perfectly spiced, flavorful and delicious. And comparing the pita to store bought pita is pretty lame. We had the olive hummus with the home made pita and it was superlative. How is pita supposed to have flavor? Just needs to be soft and fresh and a vehicle for whatever you serve it with. Our table also had the mushroom and chicken skewers and we all raved about the food. Cocktails, service, ambiance--spot on. We have high expectations from the Buck and Rider folks and they more than delivered. This place is on our regular rotation and the $42 for the lobster is a great deal. read more

We always have loved Buck & Rider and got to try this sister restaurant with a Mediterranean spin menu in a wonderful two story ambience made for a wonderful atmosphere and dining month menu that was tasty.
