I was shocked at how small the place was, like literally about the size of your house's dining room and maybe kitchen combined but they seemed like a well oiled system of serving and seating people. Our food was really good, came out fairly quick. The only thing I could knock them for at this place with the big specialty pancakes, waffles and crepes would be to have fresh squeezed orange juice! It's in a very empty strip mall. It was a super tiny place. We arrived around 12pm and still had a wait. It was packed! It kind of reminded of me of Gina's Cafe in St. Clair Shores. The menu was extensive, plus they had a huge list of specials. It made me sad that I am lactose intolerant because some of those dishes sounded AHHHH-MAZING!!!! First experience with Le Andos today and left with a good taste in my mouth (pun totally intended. Embrace the Dad jokes). Ordered a "Country Omelette" with feta instead of swiss, hashbrowns and pita instead of toast. The portions were generous and far better than standard or baseline diner food. The omelette was a hulking slab with plenty of ingredients cooked in. Pleased to have both Franks and Tabasco on the table by default as I use both. I get bummed out when it is one or the other. The menu was rather large with plenty of options (upside in my book, could see it being a downside if you are very indecisive but that's like... totally on you theoretical guy/gal). Only meh point was the size as it is a smaller joint in a strip mall. Will def be going again... Funny side note: 2-3 Matchbox Twenty songs were playing on repeat. So... This happened post-workout on Sunday morning. Finally hit up LeAndo's Cafe (@leandoscafe) in Macomb recently and I couldn't have been happier with my visit. I've been meaning to go for ages, so I'm so glad I finally was able to make it in. I ordered the Chicken Fiesta omelette, as well as one of their specialty pancake stacks: S'Mores Pancakes. The Chicken Fiesta omelette was fantastic.... But holllllyyyyy crap were the S'Mores pancakes amazing. HUGE portions too. I normally don't say this, but... They were the best pancakes I've ever had and that includes MINE (if you've ever had my pancakes, then you know how good they are). I had to share the pancakes, because there was no way that entire thing was fitting in my macros... Ha ha. Beyond the food, we had a great waitress that was very helpful and friendly. Ask for Miriam if you ever check the place out! Tell her I sent you too. All in all, I'm looking to make this a post-workout weekend tradition. And it's even better that I can order online and have them deliver the food to my house! I've never heard of any brunch place doing that, so it's unique and very convenient. You can order actual entrees but I've only been here for the crepes. Been here a few times and they're always pretty busy but they're fairly quick with bringing the food out. The last time that I ate at this restaurant I ordered crepes; which was delicious like usual and my friend ordered a burger that she was satisfied with. We have been coming here since it opened and can't believe we never reviewed them! They literally have the best breakfast around, and it's not even close. They have very unique and exciting breakfast choices, from pumpkin pie crepes during the fall to crab cake Benedict. They literally have anything you can think of! Also, their service is tremendous, especially considering how busy they always are. The only two drawbacks are how small the place is, which leads to the second drawback, there's usually a wait. I checked in on Yelp and this 10% off coupon filled my screen. Now what do I do? I had the grilled salmon dinner with teriyaki sauce drizzled all over. The side salad was very good, and I opted for yellow rice and green beans with my meal. The salmon was most excellent and because my eyes were somehow bigger than my stomach, I had to take home a good portion of the dinner. After reading these 5 star reviews my husband an I had to find time to visit this cafe. Wow.... Fabulous food, friendly staff. We had dinner there late afternoon an ordered 3 of their daily specials. Needless to say, we had leftovers. We loved the food so much we came back in this morning. Presentation of their dishes are something you would find in a European Cafe. Of course, had to try a menu item an one of their specials. Seriously, I would bring guests from out of town knowing the food is delicious. Ok so my husband and I checked this place out because of the Yelp reviews. I'm severely gluten intolerant and therefore limited on where I can go. I was so excited to hear they offered opinions for me! I ordered western omelette which has Dearborn ham, bell peppers, onion and cheese. Sooo good! I also was allowed a side so I went for it and got the gluten free pancakes. I wasn't disappointed. They gave me two bug pancakes. They were all good. My two friends and I met for breakfast at this small cafe. We had to wait about 25 minutes before being seated. After we were done eating and had paid the bill, we set down our tip money then immediately after, the owner of the restaurant came to our table and asked if we needed anything else which we responded "no". She proceeded to tell us, "okay well we have another party we are going to seat at this table, so..." We got the hint. By just asking if we needed anything else would've been plenty. Our waitress was very polite or else we would've left NO tip at all. It's too bad the food was good because the service was not. Came here for breakfast and at first glance it does not look like much. Very small but clean. The waitress was very sweet and the food came out pretty fast. I got the Nutty Pecan Waffle which looked amazing. As soon as I was about to cut into the waffle I found a long piece of hair on my waffle. I came here on Saturday morning to find it was very small and busy inside. There wasn't room to wait inside so they took our phone number and we waited in our car for about a half hour which wasn't too bad. The service was really good for how busy it was inside and I was very impressed with the food. I got the Lululemon pancakes and they were everything I could've asked for. My only complaint with my visit was getting sat right next to the door, which was constantly being opened and closed while it was 20 degrees and snowing outside. I finally made it to Le Andos Cafe. I have been looking forward to this visit because of the mostly "rave" ratings. It is a much smaller restaurant that I had imagined. Only seven booths and seven two-tops. The two-tops can be pushed together for larger parties. Le Andos is tucked away in a strip mall and not especially obvious from M59/Hall Road unless you are looking for it. Two nearby landmarks are ABC Warehouse and National Coney Island. It's kind'a, sort'a behind ABC, facing to the west. Good news: They have a small windbreak for the front door. I wish other strip mall restaurants without an entry vestibule would invest in these. I arrived a bit before 7AM. Only two other (solo) customers in the restaurant. None had their food yet. I could hear & catch glimpses of a waitress working in the back. In a few minutes Ann appeared. Friendly and reasonably chatty with her regulars ... that want to chat. She knows her job and was appropriately attentive. I never waited for, or wanted anything. Ann arrived with water, I ordered decaf ... and she explained that she would brew a fresh pot. Thank you. It only took a few minutes. She reviewed the specials on the mostly unlighted chalkboard. Their breakfast boats sounded interesting - a hollowed-out potato skin stuffed with the usual breakfast egg items. As this was my first visit, I opt'd for the veggie omelette w/dry rye toast. My order arrived promptly, hot & correct. Soooo many places fail on the 'dry' aspect of dry-rye toast. The omelette was expertly prepared. The toast was a light golden hue. Cost? $10.07. Only bit more expensive than the typical Michigan coney prices that I am used to paying, but not objectionably so. First time Yelp check-in's get a 10% discount. Cleanliness? Yes. Both the dining room and Men's room. Will I return? Yes, but only when in the area ... and I am seldom in this area. CCW is allowed. read more
