    Chicken Strawberry Chicken Spinach Salad

Another local place to me that I could kick myself for not going to sooner!!!! Went on a Wednesday right at noon and it was full with a lunch crowd, but not hard to get a table. You're greeted right away and they'll point you to a table. It's a small place. The smell when you walk in is delicious!! My friend had a lovely, well made cheese omelette with good hash browns. Breakfast all day. She picked the cinnamon raisin toast, which was excellent. Nice thick slices. I had the Spinach, strawberry, chicken salad with a super tasty raspberry vinaigrette. It's a nice big salad for the price. The coffee was bottomless and hot every time. The service was very efficient and really chatty and friendly.

Big breakfast. Hashbrowns hiding but plenty and perfect.

Best ham I ever had other than my own at home. Best hashbrowns: thin sliced potatoes the perfect texture. Don't change anything. Big breakfast is great deal. Coffee super. Service excellent.

New York Strip and eggs: this is a really good steak for a small price ($13.99 for the whole plate, including toast).

My wife wanted breakfast today, and she was particular about wanting a place with good hash browns. The pictures looked good, but they didn't do justice to just how good. The cook used just the right combination of butter and heat. They're crispy on the surface, and so tasty with every bite. I'm usually suspicious of steak and eggs on a menu, because the steak is usually subpar. Here, it's excellent. It was perfectly cooked, lean, and flavorful. You get an 8 ounce New York Strip with three eggs and toast, all for only $13.99. I love the seasoning on the corned beef hash. Normally, the corn beef is enough, but they added something that elevates it. You get a giant plate of deliciousness - corned beef hash with three eggs and toast - for $8.49. The Mt. Clemens Grill is a straight up diner. Being a straight up diner, it means you are very close to the other tables. I learned that the Rolling Stones were going to be in town later this year, and I heard quite a lot about some woman's situation with her garden. And, today was a hot day outside, and climate control in the restaurant was not great. But, you get so much good quality for the money here. Plus, the service is excellent, and I swear the food was at our table about five minutes after we ordered it. I can definitely see this becoming a regular destination for me.

I got the meat lovers skillet carry it was dynamite. Cooked excellently. Only downfall about coming here is trying to find a spot because of all the parking spaces taken from people in court- bummer-

Food was amazing, waitress was efficient and friendly and the place was clean. I like that the kitchen is open so you can see that it's clean. It's spacious so you don't feel like you're too close to other people.

    A huge breakfast skillet!

It took 20ish minutes to get drinks and refills. I had asked for a water several times and we had to end up sharing. We got chicken tenders, poutine and pierogi for appetizers. The poutine and chicken tenders were both amazing! The chicken was fresh and very good quality, it seemed to be hand breaded. The poutine had great flavor also! The pierogi was dry and not great, so I would skip those next time. For dinner I ordered the mac and cheese and French onion soup. The French onion soup was so salty it was inedible. The Mac and cheese was also disappointing. I thought it would be baked or have a sauce and it didn't. It reminded me more of a kids meal (but with adult prices) and was a small portion. Husband got the fish and chips and he enjoyed them, but said he wished they gave malt vinegar with them. Overall the service was slow and some dishes were great and some were not so great.

I got a side salad and a southwest wrap. The side salad was huge and has so many toppings with a really good creamy balsamic dressing. The wrap was phenomenal. Overall this place can be busy and have slower service but this time we had no issues. The food is high quality and tastes above average. It is also in downtown Mt. We were told they didn't want to seat us because it was "a bar," even though it was during regular business hours and they were open for food service. At no point in the restaurant's description or online information does it state that guests must be 21 or older, or that children are not welcome. Had that been made clear, we never would have attempted to dine there. Families should be aware that this does not appear to be a family-friendly establishment, despite there being no indication of that beforehand. We left feeling embarrassed and disappointed by how the situation was handled.

It doesn't feel thrown together at all. The finishes, the vibe, even the way everything flows... it's just nice. And the outdoor patio?? Huge. That said... the upstairs is LOUD. Like borderline "I can't hear the person next to me" loud lol. Maybe I'm just getting old but wow. Drinks are where they shine. Stick with beer or whiskey and you're golden. Food used to be rough, not gonna lie, but I gave it another shot recently and it was actually really good this time, so that was a pleasant surprise. Huge covered outdoor bar, a stage for live music, and a big fire pit that makes it feel like it should be the spot. The setup is there. But something just feels a little... off. It's a fun place to grab a drink after work and hang out for a bit. Just not somewhere I find myself staying long or choosing over other spots nearby. If I can offer anything to the team, I think leaning into the vibe of that patio and elevating the atmosphere a bit would go a long way. Originally a farmhouse, a basement was dug out in the early 1900s to create a bar. The ceiling is only six feet high, and is smaller than the average basement. During Prohibition, it operated as a speakeasy. In 1933, it became the first establishment in Macomb County to receive a liquor license. From that point on, it officially went by Eastside Tavern. The tavern is now run by fourth-generation owner, Heather DeBruyn. No one has lived in the house since 2017, but "the basement bar" is alive and well. Since its opening, Eastside Tavern has featured a limited food menu. The burger is the most popular menu item, often hailed as one of the best in Macomb County. There are a few variations on the menu, all made with a half-pound patty. The bologna sandwich is another popular item. My personal favorite is the quesadilla. All sandwiches come with a basket of chips, and pepperoncinis are available upon request. The chip and pepperoncini combo is jokingly referred to as a "salad bar." The history and vibes make Eastside Tavern one of a kind. Live music takes place every Saturday, and raffles are occasionally held on Wednesdays. When you go, be sure to ask to see the apron.
