Came to Le Bain with a friend on Wednesday night without any reservation. Just like most clubs in NYC you must dress nice but on a slow nigh they may let some hipsters in as well. Keep in mind that bands of hungry males are always frowned upon at any gates. They opened around 10.30pm for some reason. This place has a Million Dollar View! Peeing there may change your life forever... All stuff is nice and polite. The drinks are very expensive but much better quality than any club in NYC. The DJ was pretty cool, the sound actually is very good. You get what you pay for. read more

This is my go-to whenever I go out in Meatpacking. It's just a fun atmosphere and the music is always interesting. The view is okay. The crowd is usually on the international side. The best time to go is definitely in the summer when the terrace upstairs is actually bumping and the hot tub is open (though I would never go in--ew). I love the faux grass they put in and the feeling of easy living on those summer nights. Also the best for taking friends who are visiting and want to see what NYC is all about. read more

Although the rooftop has a nice view , and decent music the reason why i'm giving 2 stars are the guys from the entrance the asian guy with long black hair and glasses and his african american colleague for being complete a**holes letting in only the people they wanted random , telling most of the guys they can't get in but allowing all the girls in with no problem , splitting up groups by allowing only half of them to get in . They mentioned that it is an invitation only party (like every night when you try to go on the roof , they say the exact same thing ) but regardless of this , they were letting people go in with no problem as long as they liked their faces , making some people to stay in line 3-4 times before finally letting them in to join their friends , this is called abuse of power , they were acting like a gambling game " who's the next group we tell to step on the left " (can't get in) . If you want to go to Le Bain and in your group are only guys ... there is a 20% that they would let you in . I wanted to leave 1 star , but overall the place ,after you pass by those 2 a**holes , looks good. read more

I went to NYC last week to visit a friend. We went to a few clubs here and there, but I must say that Le Bain had to be the cherry on top. The people there are nice and the Jacuzzi is amazing. They provide you with towels free of charge too which was pretty awesome because to be quite frank, coming to a club with a towel under your arm ain't too hot. Overall, a great place and I would definitely come here again when I come to NYC again. read more

Came here on a Wednesday for the buzz party Club Yes. Got to door waited in a long but quick moving line. A few people were turned away for the better I must say. Got in very interesting entry way, walking into blacklight room with neon paintings I instantly was intrigued. The elevator lets you out on the 18th floor and you are surrounded by 360 degrees of windows with the best view of both uptown and downtown. I have never been to a legitimate nightclub with a pool next to the DJ booth. I asked the bartender for drink specials but they had none however he recommended an amazing unique cocktail. A little pricey but understandable for the atmosphere. Good mix of interesting people, very diverse, hip yet not pretentious. Made my way to the outdoor roof and chatted with some tourists and people who referred to themselves as hosts, not really sure what that means but they were a blast! The highlight of night had to have been the DJs. The music was well mixed and a great song selection of 90s RnB, hot 97 hip hop, and good electronic music. The dancefloor was very unintimidating refreshing for the meatpacking club scene. People were very respectful of space yet willing to invite me into their dance circles. I hung out with one of the DJs after he was very friendly and inviting. I definitely will be coming back next time I get a Thursday off. read more

I put one star as it is the minimum you can rate but basically this place has nothing great at all aside from the view. I was there the past 3 nights for corporate event we organized. Place is completely disorganized. Staff at security have no idea on how is on VIP list. Management isn't found anywhere whenever there is a problem. Service is rubbish, bar staff have no idea about how to make cocktail, even if bar is empty it takes them too long to react. They are dressed like if they are going for a fishing trip, I would have expected a better presentation.watch out this place is full of people waiting only to take advantage of you. Keep on watching very closely on your belongings as other will do that for you but for other reasons. This is actually quite strange when they promote that place as VIP bar. I seriously don't understand the buzz behind that place. This place is a complete disappointment and not worth the spent of the limo fare. You have far better option in the city read more

Beautiful rooftop. I was surprised how the co-ed bathroom even had a nice view. I remember there were a decent number of stairs to trek up though. The location is great. However, Rachael (short girl)and Lindsey are TERRIBLE. Rachael is a horrible waitress. She came to our table once over the course of an hour and we were forced to go to the bar. She then proceeded to send her "assistant" Lindsey to ask us to get up for a couple who spent less than us. Honestly worst bartenders ever. Extremely unfriendly and aggressive. I saw with my own eyes the blonde bartender the whole night extremely rude and disrespectful. I also witnessed a security guard a man be extremely aggressive to a woman when she was following whatever he said. It was disgusting. I will never come back here ever again. Lotsa rich tourists from all over and cute white NYU girls mimicking the Olsen Twins trying to show there more urbanesque yet fashiony side, lotta affluent gay dudes who shop at Barney's as if it is there life's purpose, art gallery crowd yapping and blowing lines as if it were a race, and artsy kids that look like they use to hang out at Union square skating and giving free hugs signs in h.s. oh yeah and rich underage CT and upeast side kids who can afford everything at market value on mom's AMEX black card. $12 well drinks which were not watered down, made well, good size and totally reasonable price to drink while gazing at a gorgeous Midtown and Jersey city view. Girls were def. on point though, had great conversations with interesting people and you could actually hear over the cool music. If your not open minded and use to thing being a certain way...you probably would enjoy Le Bain. To my minorities wondering about diversity...it was mostly white but very cool and there are some blacks and latinos let in from all over. read more

Really liked this place. However be fair warned if you are trying to show up with a bunch of men who aren't on the guest list, they probably won't get in. Best for a girls night out. Incredible view from the penthouse bar. Cocktails are pricy but pretty standard for Manhattan. I came here as a goodbye for a good friend of mine and while I enjoyed the view I will not be returning. The line to get it was quite long but moved quickly. When my group got to the front of the line I saw a group of Indian people trying to ask the bouncer why their group was not allowed it. I had read the reviews on yelp prior to arriving and saw the comment about Brown people not being welcomed which is completely unacceptable. Unfortunately I saw this first hand, the bouncer basically told them they werent allowed in and to leave without explanation. A guy from their group asked why and that their dress code and girl to guy ratio would have allowed any group to get in and they were just turned away. The bouncer stamping peoples hands ( who was Asian) became hostile and said Hey i'm a minority and I'm here, F*ck off! It tainted my night and the view of the establishment. I will not be coming back. So. long story short. everything about the view and the atmosphere on the roof is what you expect- spectacular. But in terms of being a basic bar that allows fair entry and equal treatment, this place is unacceptable. read more

The most humiliating thing i have ever experienced at Le Bay. We with my hubby were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Just wanted to dance and enjoy the views. We got into line, when it was our turn to go in, the bouncers said by invitation only!!! I mean just because i'm with the man they start choosing who gets in. I can't say that i was not prepaird for appearance. My hubby wore suit pants and shirt. I had high heels on, short and expensive dress. I watched them let some girls in without any invitations. I came up and asked how come they got in with no questions asked. They told me i had to do the research and find out the word to get in. I really like Le Bain. Have been going there for a while. It can definitely get crowded especially in weekends but they do a good job handling the crowd. It's especially nice in summer time because the rooftop is insane! I went this weekend and it was like 95 degrees. I would not want to be in a club with AC so felt so much better on their roof! I show up around 11:45 cause two friends of mine from Hungary take forever irony because they need new clothes from forever 21 since theirs didn't come on the plane when they flew from Rome. We get to the entrance finally and the door guy; (not Ian) some Asian dude with glasses and some fat white guy(I don't care about race just easy to describe them so watch out it sucks) turn me away since I could pronounce their last names! It's was crap; I've know them for years and close friends of mine but Hungarian is not my first language of course (I'm American) so the dude said "no"! I mean come on; really! ZERO STARS. DO NOT BOTHER. I don't even know where to begin with this review. I'll tell you where I can't begin and that's with telling you how apparently stunning the view is because we never saw it. I've been a Manhattan girl a long time and these kinds of pretentious places have never been my cup of tea. I think charging people a fortune while simultaneously treating them like shit is a vile business model. My fiance and I were invited to a friend's birthday party at Le Bain which is really the only thing that could have gotten us to go there in the first place. We went to the entrance at 3:30pm on a Sunday afternoon and the line wasn't too long so we were happy. We were appropriately dressed and sober which is more than I can say for the majority of the people I saw the door woman letting in. After the bouncer had a nasty and unnecessary altercation with a couple ahead of us on line, they unceremoniously kicked these people to curb. They let in a few euro trash teeny boppers in front of us and then we were up. This heinous girl whose name incidentally, is Melissa, gave us a snide once over before addressing us. She asked if we were staying in the hotel and we said no. She asked if we were attending someone's party and I said yes, a friend's birthday and I mentioned the name. She looked at her phone and then looked at me and told me I was mistaken, there was only a private party going on and it was guest list only. I explained that I was not mistaken and that a large group of my friends was upstairs and it was important for me to join them. She dismissed me and my fiance like garbage and told us to get off the line. Then she let in some more trash and then left to go upstairs. We called our friends and while we were waiting a bunch of people went in so we followed them upstairs. Once upstairs we encountered the Dragon Lady(as I have affectionately dubbed her in my mind) again. She looked at us and said to the bouncer, not even to us, I have dealt with these people already, they are not getting in. I asked to speak with a manager whose name was Manny and he came over all ready to be rude from the start. I explained the issue and asked could we please join our friends and told them we were there for a birthday and would not leave without seeing our friends. It was explained to me by 2 managers that it was Dragon Lady's door and she was the end all be all with letting people in. There was no explanation and no reason for why she denied us entry but it ruined our day and that of the birthday girl who had already spent a fortune by the time this fiasco occurred. I have been looking at the reviews on Yelp and I am shocked at how many directly reference this awful woman being a nasty piece of work and nothing has been done about it. This is a customer service based industry and all your reviews say stunning view, terrible service. There are a million stunning views in Manhattan, why pay a fortune to be treated like an animal by some insecure sociopath when you can go anywhere else for a better experience. Why would a 5 star hotel settle for a 3 star club? THIS IS NOT TRUE MANHATTAN, THIS PLACE IS A HAVEN FOR WANNABEES AND AN EMBARRASSMENT TO ALL NEW YORKERS. read more

The door at Le Bain: This review is based off my experiences at the door and info from other people I've talked to while waiting on the line outside. I've been here several times and I'm about 50/50 getting in to getting denied and wanted to describe the process at the door. Before you go keep in mind that it's doorman discretion and there is no guarantee you'll get in. Doorman asks what party you're with or if you're on the guest list. Then they tell you it's "invite only" and you have to be "invited" to come up. And that's pretty much their way of telling you you're not allowed in, for whatever the reason. From what I understand there's no guest list here and the "invitation" is by the doorman the moment you step up to the door. I'd recommend going earlier in the day, as I've never had a problem getting in before the evening. At night, have a backup plan, in case you get denied. It's a frustrating process but it's definitely a cool place if you do get up to the top. read more

One of my favorite places in the city. Don't expect to get in on the weeknights/weekends if you don't look the part. Often times at the door they will say to people "it's reservation only" and basically that means you do not fit what they are looking for, and you will not get in. My friends and I get in every time however, and this is how I am familiar with their door policy. I have seen many people be turned away, so I would say they are semi-exclusive at the door. There are many different options once inside, there is a rooftop bar, "Le Bain", and the Boom Boom Room. (Don't expect to get into the Boom Boom Room.) Overall, the views are amazing, the crowd is entertaining and interesting, and the drinks are typical NYC expensive so I suggest a strong pre-game. Also, in the summer there is a jacuzzi in the middle of the club but I don't suggest going in unless you are looking to contract a disease. With all things considered, my group always has fun here and ends up here rather frequently. We know what is good, we go out a lot. read more

Went here last night with my girl friends. It was a Sunday and we got right in around 9:30, it got more crowded by 11. Drinks were expensive but SO strong!!! Views are amazing and bathrooms are very interesting. There was 1 unisex bathroom which was interesting. All the staff were very friendly and nice, which is unusual for a nightclub. Didn't see a single straight guy but thats NYC for you! For some reason I though the overall place would be much more classier but since it was so dark it was hard to see everything. They have an awesome smoking room thats a covered area even higher up. Comfy couches, music was cool. Lots of house music and techno with no lyrics which I like. I'm going back for NYE with my boyfriend so I wanted to check this place out before. Other cool thing: right now the Standard Hotel has the SICKEST ice rink right out front with a little hot chocolate bar next to it. I will be back soon to ice skate :) Overall a great time! It is a cool chilled spot on the roof top, you get to see nyc beautiful skyline at night. Its a nice place to have a drink with your friends, but the drinks are really expensive so I only got one. I got in for free so I don't know if they pick and choose who they want to charge. There were some strange people that went there and they thought it was a good idea to jump on those water seats, whatever they were, and those people look like they were on extacy, they were disturbing the whole vibe and they were acting irregular, there should've been someone monitoring this but there wasn't -_- I went during the summer and they had a pool and naked women with their tatas out were in it (they were probably on extacy as well or they werej ust plain sluts)and they don't work there so ladies if you have a boyfriend, watch out for that because they invite guys over to swim with them, way to go on making women look more like objects *sarcastic grin with a thumbs up*. read more

i was nearby for my birthday brunch when about 5 of my friends went here 5 mins before us, they told us to meet them there they were inside... the rest of my friends and i got there and they told us "you cant come in without a reservation" it was also mid day and it wasnt even crowded because i could see inside where my friends were(who didnt have a reservation either obviously). we later realized it was because there was males with us lol.... so we were refused entry and were getting attitudes by the two men at the door , needless to say my friends who were allowed admittance left with us and we went down the road to another place, we pay to go in, are at the bar, when the bouncer tells us we must leave because LE BAINE traveled down the road to tell everyone to ban us. lol. so i speak to the manager at this new place in confusion, he refunds us our admission, sits us in VIP, and gives us free beer the whole night in apologies for this rude establishment. :) im happy we didnt get in because everywhere else we went this day/night was sooo much fun due to non judgmental attitudes from the staff like this place. yikes! read more
