Walked in for a hair cut and highlight and showed Kim pics of color and hair style i desired then was told it would be $316. I told Kim that $200 would be what I am willing to pay as i only have a shoulder length hair so Kim replied that at least 2-3 shdes of colors would be required to achieve the result from the pic i showed her and they used a good product so i went ahead thinking i could trust her and the place had a 4-stars reviewed. i was told to wait 10mins cos another lady would be doing my hair not Kim. I asked who was going to be the lady and Kim replied that they had worked together and she had years of experience. The lady (forgot her name)who did my hair only did one shade of color for me and when i asked Kim why it became only one shade of color but not the 2-3shade like she told me then Kim replied that they are doing this balayage highlight technique that will make my hair and color looks natural (totally not answering my question). Toner was then applied to my hair and i was told this toner would make my hair color looks natural (for a medium brown/black hair?). At the end, when i told the hair dresser to have more layer at the back of my hair i was told that she had a client already waiting. When Kim gave me the receipt and asked me how do I like it and I just replied it was not even the color i showed you and left cos i was not happy at all and felt so disappointed. This was my first time here. I came for a partial balayage and haircut. There was some confusion at the beginning on who my stylist was and the time but it honestly didnt bother me, I understand things happen. The ladies are nice and look after you with beverages and they saw I was cold and brought me a warm robe to cover with, very thoughtful! My reasoning for a 3 star is because I didnt feel that the prices online truly reflect what they charge. Prices will fluctuate customer to customer based on hair but there are hidden added costs that you arent told about. My partial balayage was $160..which I was okay with as its comparable to other places Ive been. But they also charge an additional $65 for products used in your hair which I dont think is fair or we should at least be told. They said that this charge is for everyone who gets color services so in my opinion $65 should be added to the price ranges online or written so its clear. My total cost was $320 before tip. Im definitely not a cheapo but have gone to many places and had never heard of these added fees and certainly was the highest Ive ever been charged for my hair. I do think everyone is nice but was caught off guard on my final bill and wish someone would have explained to me during consultation. read more

I came here last Saturday for a quick trim with Amy. As soon as I walked in, the space was much bigger and more modern than I had been expecting. They got me some water while I waited in the futuristic looking waiting area. As soon as I sat down in Amy's chair I felt like I was in great hands. She asked me a lot of questions about what I wanted and ended up taking off 3". It was more than I had originally planned, but I'm so glad she suggested it because my hair feels much healthier and looks amazing now! The WORST and UGLIEST shellac manicure in my life. The brilliant experience started from the girl who was giving me mani not asking anything about what kind of shape do I want neither if I want to keep the length, she just filed it into nothing and ask if its fine like that She didn't soak my nails neither cut the cuticles as well. She also did pretty ugly job with nail polish keep messing it up with her hair as it wasn't tied. After being charged 55$ I politely explained that they should give lil better service for such price and pointed at the things I wasn't satisfied with. The manager trying to be polite at first said they will fix it. I was completely fine with that I asked to put powder and bring the nails to the length they were before she filed the shit out of them. The asian guy obviously not being satisfied with the fact he needs all the job to be redone for free was complaining a lot being rude to me and finally said he will fix it for additional 65$ Not feeling like spending today 120$ total on mani I left with ugly nails and spoiled mood Being not complaining kind of person I've never left any bad reviews or anything but in this case just couldn't help myself. Sorry for spreading my negative vibe just warning ppl not to waste money and time for nail service at this place. They do have tasty strawberry flavored water tho! That's probably the only advantage. I've been going to Le Blanc now every 5-6 weeks since last October and I've never been anywhere with such astoundingly consistent results. I've been getting balayage and extensions, and my hair has grown so much and I have hardly any breakage now. Kim is so amazing! She makes you feel right at home and listens and addresses any issues or concerns you're having. I recently visited Effie in Houston to get my hair done and felt it was time for a review! The salon was beautiful but the real gem is Effie. I worked as an assistant with Effie Varsamis in Chicago and the entire time felt I hit the jackpot. I have very thick, frizzy wavy hair and was victim to a lot of bad cuts in life but Effie was able to layer/thin it in a way that no one else could, a lot of stylists didn't want to cut girls with long or very thick hair because it is more difficult but Effie never complained, her cuts are very modern looking and I honestly never saw anyone leave her chair not looking great Which brings me to color. I once saw her work an absolute miracle on a girl who dyed and highlighted her hair at home, her highlights are amazing, after I started getting highlights from her I was always getting asked where I got them done, and also getting asked where my hair was CUT. It was the first time in my life I was getting compliments not that my hair was curled pretty or something but that it was cut well. I will post pictures so you guys can see what I mean But OH there is more. Effie is a genius with updos. She did my hair for prom, I cam in with a pearl necklace and asked for something with braids, grecian-goddess-esque and she went to it, it was a LOT of work she took a long time doing little details with the braids and making sure everything was really secure so it'd last all night. She really listens to what you want, but she is able to figure out what will look good when you don't know what you want too which was so important to me. A girl working at the salon got married while I was there and everyone asked for Effie to do their hair. It got to a point where the owners had to ask a few girls to have another stylist do it because literally every girl wanted Effie. Last but not least, extensions. Effie is brilliant with extensions. I might be mistaken but I believe she did a lot of extra training for extensions.. Effie had the most clients for extensions, I never got them myself but in the time that I worked there 3 other employees did and they all asked for Effie. And that's because working there we see everyone's work and we know who to go to and who to avoid. One girl had very thin hair and Effie made her look like a whole new person, seriously she is magic. Effie is someone who takes a career as a hairstylist seriously and she is passionate about doing good work. All I can say is I'm really sad Chicago lost her.. but when I need warm weather and a good cut/color I will be going to Houston. read more

I went in for color once and didn't like the results .. Caused damage to my hair. So I would say if you get color done.. Proceed with caution! Also they push products pretty heavily here. When I was in college, my friends and I looked for the cheapest (non scary) places to do our nails. Now that we're all working, one realizes it is SO, SO worth the (very slightly) extra $ for a classy, soothing environment, super friendly staff, professional services and heLLO complimentary drink. I don't get pedis often (super ticklish) but when the unavoidable time comes to maintain my feet, I come here to unwind. We've had pedis here several times anD I've gotten the most awesome colored extensions here. I've done extensions for years in many different salons in different cities (just a flash of bright hues here and there) and this new technique Kim uses is amazing. It takes 5 minutes to put on and take off and lasts almost 2 months before simply readjusting it higher up again. Anyway. love this place. At LeBlanc, the customized deluxe manicure/pedicure experience is TO DIE FOR-- and no guilt necessary, because the staff are enjoying themselves too. It's like a happy family in there. Best pedicures I've ever had, with no pain even with my ingrown toenails and sensitive skin. They recommend perfect colors for me when I can't decide. And the boys give great free skincare advice while they're working too! My first hair appointment was for a difficult color combination of dark red hair with a teal blue peek-a-boo pop underneath. Kim didn't hesitate at all but immediately looked at all my sample pictures and mixed customized color for me. And I never felt weird for being a middle-aged mommy asking for blue hair; they were totally accepting and celebrated my new look with me-- with toast after toast of champagne, my favorite! Now they always put the champagne in the fridge for me when I'm coming. And snacks for that all-day color appointment. I found this salon because I lived close by and heard it was the absolute best place to go to for tape in extensions! I am SO happy I did! I had never gotten this type of extensions before so was extremely weary, but the owner, Kim, and her staff walked me through each step and how to take care of my new hair in the best way. The outcome was better than I could have ever expected! The products they used felt amazing and you you can tell they are extremely experienced stylists! Kim answered any questions I had and worked with my picky demands without any annoyance. They are always willing to become available if an extension comes loose or I want to change anything up and make me feel like I am their #1 priority. I cannot say enough good things about this salon. I recently moved back from from out of state and was in desperate need of a good salon for cut, color and extensions. I called about the extension process and Kim, the owner, got on the phone to answer my questions. She was able to get me in that day for a consultation and offered to do my extensions the next. Honestly, that made me a little nervous because at other salons I had to wait forever to get in, but I had nothing to worry about. She did an amazing job and my hair has never looked better. Because she owns the salon she oversees every detail. She also provides wine or champagne which is an added bonus because I'm usually there for a long time! I needed a quick place near my job... Yelpers seem to like this place; so I figured I would give to a try... Its a hair salon with a nail salon. In theory the concept makes sense. However, because the bulk of the business is hair related; they run a lean nail staff. The owner, I assume, is very sweet and has excellent customer service. They have vinyl luxe polish-which is a huge win for me. FYI: vinyl luxe isn't as damaging as shellac but lasts longer than traditional nail polish. The tech began in my feel and did a decent job. My nails were neat and pretty. I didn't feel as if she did as much as a traditional nail salon would do. However, she was very nice, pleasant to speak with it and fast. The owner actually began my nails and she was good... Another nail tech arrived and finished my mani. The highlight of this place is the actual aesthetics. It's very clean, modern lines. Very modern and nice! I enjoy pedicure chairs that aren't the traditional leatherette huge ones with the traditional basins attached. This salon has amazing modern chairs with awesome basins. However, the overall experience regarding the nails was just ok. I like the owner, like the staff, and my nails are nice. I'd like to see them step it up a bit, add more into the pedicure process. Set up my first appt at Le Blanc with Effie, who gets rave reviews. Show up at appt time and greeter states "you have Effie at 10". After a 10 min delay (they were't particularly busy), I am ushered to the back for what was a marvelous shampoo that felt more like a massage. So far, great. Back to chair to get hair done and Vietnamese girl does a good job. Afterwards I find out this is NOT Effie ... turns out there was some kind of error. But NOBODY told me anything about it. For all I knew this girl was indeed Effie ... but she was NOT. I scheduled and paid for an appt with Effie but was swapped out and not told about it. Had I been there before with Effie I would have known about the switcheroo. So instead of simply saying, "There's been a scheduling error and I can either put you with another stylist or we can reschedule", they tried to pull the wool over my eyes. I've been a business owner and I understand that honest mistakes happen. I'm okay with that when it's properly handled. I am NOT okay with being bamboozled. The manager was rude, constantly interrupted me and thought the situation was amusing. Initially she refused to identify the stylist who actually did my hair and never would identify the you man who was the greeter when I arrived and was a major player in the whole series of events. A statement from her like "We made a mistake in how you were handled and we apologize. I understand your anger. What can we do to make this right for you?" Sadly, that is not how this was handled at all. Eventually, after having to drive 50 roundtrip miles to return to the shop, I got a refund (less $20 in tip money) but no real apology and an attitude from the manager. I hear Effie is great but the rest of the experience was totally unacceptable. Be very careful. See SW's review from 4/8/2016 for another similar experience with management. UPDATE following owner's Donald Trump imitation response: We were in the salon 3 times. Once for the original appointment. Once because the manager insisted that we had to physically return to the salon to obtain a refund. And once more trying to reach a quiet, peaceful resolution at which the manager went beserk. There were NO customers in the salon at the appointment or at the time of the second visit and one entered as we were leaving during the third visit. So glad "all" your customers were amused. LOTS of places to go at $85 for a cut and the other reports of heavy pushing of hair care products are spot on. A dash of honesty at the front of this event would have been both appropriate and appreciated. That's all it took. But Krazy Kim doesn't see it that way. read more

I could go on & on about Le Blanc! Upon recently moving to Houston, my mom and I found Le Blanc as it is in a convenient location and had great reviews. Peyton is my main hairstylist and has brought my hair back to brown from blonde seamlessly. Besides her professionalism and attention to detail, she obviously really loves what she does! I've also worked with Kim (the most hands-on, awesome owner I've ever met) and she is so up to date and all the hottest trends and techniques to not only keep your hair looking great but in good condition as well! I try to get my mani / pedis with the guys every two weeks and let me say that they are always so nice and give the best customer service imaginable. I look forward to catching up with them every time I come. Besides the great quality of work and professionalism, it's really the customer service and the people that work there that keep me and my entire family coming back!! Like I mentioned previously, the owner is very hands on and each employee (even the ones I haven't worked with) are amazing. These people are actually friends with each other outside of working hours which just creates an comfortable and welcoming atmosphere from the moment you step in. Every detail is thought of in terms of the customer in mind: a wide variety of refreshments, comfortable waiting areas / washing areas, and easy check in and check out process, all with warm smiles in a clean & stylish location. I'm really disappointed in how they've handled dealing with my poor nail job. I've been coming there for some time mainly for my hair but started doing a mani & pedi right after my hair cuts because it's convenient - and dropping at least $300 during my visits. The nail jobs are okay, sometimes hit and miss (without me voicing any complaints when they were a 'miss'), but I like the nail techs as they are very sweet and friendly, and my hair artists is there which I LOVE (Amy) so I kept getting my nails done when I get my hair cuts. Well the last time I got my nails done not only did I only have 1 nail tech at the time so it made for a very long day after I got my hair done (an extra 2 hours) just on a shellac french mani and basic french pedi. In less than 24 hours my mani started chipping and peeling. By the 2nd day they looked so bad I just peeled all of the french nail polish off. I called a few days later, explained the situation, and set up an appointment to get a new mani and the lady at the front desk said that "they would take care of it." Well I did have to call to cancel the appointment and did not have a new time to reschedule but the front desk person said she would put a note on my account and everything should be okay. Now as I call to book a full mani/pedi and inquire about the mani situation and if there is a note on my account, they are telling me because I didn't keep my original 'fix' appointment there is no discount or credit now (even though she said it nicely), to which I was never told that was the case at the time. Then I asked to speak with the manager or owner and had to leave a message to have someone call me back. When I did get a call back it was the manager and although she was nice about how she delivered her message to me, she said the receptionist didn't have the authority to give a credit and that looking back at their records it showed that I had received a 'regular' manicure not a shellac and they don't give any guarantees for those as with the shellac they give 2 weeks chip-free guarantee (to which I had never been told that before or I would have come it to get fixes). I let her know I never ask for regular mani as I always ask for shellac, and even IF it was a 'regular' having my nails chip and peel in less than 24 hours is NOT GOOD. The manager kept on saying " I'm sorry that you feel that way" in regards to me saying that what she is telling me is not good customer service and that I am very disappointed with this outcome. Not to mention that I am always going there to get my hair done, + nails, and spend $$$$ but to my dismay they are willing to loose business then to fix a customer service problem. Amazing! And I am not one to be mean or argumentative I just stated the facts . . . . and I LIKE their nail techs they are very friendly and I WANT to come back but I won't with a poor customer service attitude like that. All I can say is they must be making tons of money to be able to lose a good paying and very friendly and accommodating customer. I will be back for my hair with Amy as she is awesome, but no more nails for me! Unbelievable!! Addendum after reading the Owners response: The owner (yourself) can approve any services you want to keep your customers happy. It was the miscommunication from your receptionist that now is at issue, which is not the customers fault, it ultimately falls on the business. Plus, when I talked to the Manager today she explained to me that the Receptionist did not have the authority to give discounts or credits so the Receptionist wasn't able to provide that option to me in the first place. So your logic of needing me to come in within a short specified time frame from my bad nail job, or whatever time frame you feel you want to make up at this point (which really - why would time frame matter, esp for a repeat customer), was (1) never communicated to me by the Receptionist who offered that to me, and (2) the Receptionist according to the manager was not able to authorize this in the first place! Again, as you can see, all this is a customer service issue that falls solely on the business. Then to add to this mess when I say that I always get a shellac manicure, and you say your books say otherwise, you are basically telling me that I am lying. It seems to me that you would rather be 'right' than to continue having a happy repeat customer. After having spent hundreds of dollars over this last year at your business (with no previous complaints) you are choosing to throw this customer away on your need to feel 'right' about the poor service that I received and the miscommunications from your staff to myself. I really like your nail techs as they are so sweet and friendly, but the way you are handling this situation is forcing me to go somewhere else now for my nail needs. I would recommend that you re-read my complaint to assist in clarity of the situation and consider what customer service means to you. read more

This place is solid! Went for a gel mani and regular pedi yesterday. Everyone is very friendly, professional and did a great job! My guys were particularly funny. Only cons were: price and parking. Yelp says $$, but I'd definitely put this in the $$$ category. I didn't do any upgrades and my bill was $80. Also, I had to pay for street parking. I realize this isn't their fault, but it's a factor when choosing a place to get my nails done. Overall it's good though - I was very happy with the attention to detail paid to both my toes and fingernails. Will be back. Wine is a huge plus too! read more

I have been going to Kim for the past two years for my hair. I have never had anyone as good as her do my hair! She does my cuts, color (high and lowlights), and extensions (I've gotten the tape in and bead bonded kinds). People are always shocked when I tell them I have extensions because they look so natural! I highly recommend Kim!
