We had a wonderful dinner at Tumi. Our server, Sandra, was very helpful and super nice. The room is very cozy with lots of booths, which we prefer when we dine out. When I couldn't decide on a cocktail, Sandra readily recommended the Grapefruit Martini -- it was delicious and totally the right call, Hubby's Tito's Cosmo was also well-made. For dinner, Hubby had the Chicken Parm - it was enormous and delicious, chicken was cooked well and the homemade pasta was a perfect al dente. The sauce was very good, but there was too much cheese for his taste, an easy fix to move to the side. There was plenty to take home for a second meal so it was an even better value. I chose the Spinach Salad, which was fresh and tasty with artichokes and goat cheese. Again, it was a generous portion for a very good price. We rarely indulge in dessert but we were convinced to try the homemade Tiramisu and it was amazing, just the way I make it myself. It's very hard to find a Tiramisu that is so authentic. We absolutely recommend Tumi, based on our experience it would be had to make a bad decision from their menu. read more

My mom and I went on a Friday night without a reservation and it was super busy which is always a good sign. There was lots of outdoor seating. Upon arrival, we didn't see the hostess for a good five minutes, but she was very friendly and accommodating once we connected with her. We got the perfect table outside. We were greeted with waters fairly quickly but noticed some floaters in our glasses. I wanted to mention this to someone, but no one else visited our table for at least ten minutes. My mom even got up to ask for a server. A gentleman eventually brought us bread and I asked if we could order but he did not take orders. We finally had a server come over and she was very nice and efficient and took care of us right away. I ordered the traditional ceviche and my mom had steak tips. The food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time and both were delicious. I've had some pretty mediocre ceviche lately so I've been craving a quality ceviche and this hit the mark! My moms steak tips were tender and served with chimichurri and delicious potatoes. The food was noteworthy and there are definitely more menu items I would like to come back and try. I'll be generous and go with 4 stars but this was really like 3.5. We enjoyed their $1 oysters and our entrees. I had the eggplant rollatini and my fiancé had a salad with shrimp. My cocktail (blood orange martini) was tasty but my fiancé was underwhelmed with his pisco sour. So while we liked the food, there were some small flaws that made this not really a 4 star place. Chipped paint on some walls. The bathroom had both the paper towels and the toilet paper off the rolls, just sitting on fixtures. Service was okay but not particularly warm or friendly. Came here at odd hour at 3 pm on monday for late lunch. We are the only customers. Chill relaxing ambiance We got free bruschetta with tomato on top. Super refreshing. Their empanada is excellent. It's similar with croissant but with fillings. I also ordered JALEA Y CEVICHE (Fried shrimp, scallops, fish, calamari, ceviche mayo, yuca fries, salsa criolla, traditional cheviche) it's a huge main serving, lucky that we share that. One of the best margaritas and best meals I've had in a LONG time!!! Golden margarita--strong and fresh tasting. Shrimp scampi--the homemade fettuccine melts in your mouth and the shrimp were BIG, flavorful and perfectly cooked. Had a bite of my husband's lamb lollipops--to die for! Bursting with flavor. Only "complaint" is my toddler's chicken fingers lol the texture was amazing but it had literally no flavor as if they didn't even add salt. I ordered their famous home made fettuccine. it was delicious. The problem I had was the substitution from chicken to lobster. The pieces were limited. Shaved or cut up to look full yet it was not. No chunks or knuckles. For a restaurant on cape cod you would think lobster was plentiful. I did not complain. The reason was, since there was a large group in our party and the waitress was wonderful I did not want to make a scene. I wrote an email and they never responded. The second mistake. Tumi is fabulous! We come regularly for Sunday lunch and dinners too. Everything is super fresh and flavorful. Love their salmon wraps; fabulous soups; fresh fish and pasta's also great. This restaurant was fairly easy to find, with plenty of parking available. We were greeted right away when we walked in, and seated at a booth by the window. The color scheme and decor have more of a Peruvian flair with Italian accents, and the menu is a pleasant mix of both. As a complimentary starter, the server brought two pieces of bruschetta, which were warm, and very flavorful. We started with the octopus appetizer (so excited to see this on the menu), which was delicious. It's wood grilled, with huacatay sauce, roasted potatoes, and an arugula onion salad. So delicious, flavorful, and the octopus was cooked perfectly. For lunch, I had the fettuccine a la huancayna, which was phenomenal - homemade pasta, pancetta, aji Amarillo cream sauce - it's a slightly spicy yellow pepper sauce that is very flavorful and dynamic. My mom had the chicken saltimboca, which came with asparagus, tasty fingerling potatoes, plenty of prosciutto and spinach, in a Marsala sauce. It was also very good. We've always had enjoyable food at Tumi, year after year. Perhaps there are better places on the Cape, but the truly kind and accommodating staff, outdoor patio (where we can dine with our no-longer-so-little canine Little One), and the restaurant's speed when they know we are on a tight schedule to catch the Nantucket ferry is an absolutely winning combination for us. I always gravitate towards the ceviche, which comes in several different combinations so you can choose your own adventure (shrimp, classico, mixto, etc...). They are always deliciously prepared (not over "cooked" / marinated) in delicious leche de tigre, served with a bit of sweet potato, cancha, choclo. I have a hard time ordering something other than the ceviche because it's so well done. Also on repeat: the Peruvian empanadas, which have an almost croissant like crust quite unlike the empanadas we typically see in NYC. These are generously filled with chicken. Lomo saltado comes with beef and fries served separately, which of course keeps the fries from becoming soggy, but isn't the same as the dish we have at home where fries (generally stale, leftover ones) are sauteed with the beef and vegetables, soaking in all that flavor. No matter. The beef was tender and juicy in this dish, the fries crisp. The primary consumer enjoyed. The burger than one kiddo ordered was enormous, the thick patty cooked to our requested medium. I personally didn't love the flimsy bun, which quickly disintegrated underneath its burden (not just the patty, but a few heavy sauces, lettuce and tomato, cheese), but the primary consumer enjoyed. I had my first visit to Tumi. We arrived Friday night at 6 and had a booth. Service started off great; efficient and friendly. We placed orders quickly before other diners and settled in to enjoy our evening. My friend's Caesar Salad came and looked wonderful. He and his wife shared. I noticed diners around us ordering and quickly their food arrived. It was an hour before we saw our entrees. Mine came first and 10 min later my friends (awkward). The food was delicious. I had chicken and vodka sauce with house made pasta. It was amazing. My friend loved his ribs and his wife loved her salmon. Flavors are amazing. The prices are fair. The setting is cozy and rustic. Encountering a Peruvian and Italian fusion restaurant definitely raised the old eyebrows and it was for that reason that Tumi was our first stop in Hyannis. We were able to obtain a table with essentially no waiting on a Thursday evening in the height of summer at 6pm. Much like the rest of their menu, the drink menu has a lot of unique shit you won't find anywhere else like a Spicy Peach Mezcal Mule-Rita with peach pulp, ginger beer, mezcal, and aji amarillo pepper. I could not resist ordering the Pisco Sour which I first sampled in Ecuador and absolutely loved. It is a drink that is iconic in the region and I highly recommend giving it a whirl. It was very good but heavy on the sweetness. GF, at my urging, sampled the Inka's Punch with pisco, port, pineapple juice, mango syrup, lime juice, and peruvian rum float. This was also very sweet but tropical and strong. Extra points for uniqueness because I would hazard to guess you won't be finding this drink anywhere else in North America. You can't eat in a Peruvian restaurant and NOT order the ceviche. I was thrilled to see a vegetarian option on the menu! We ordered the vegetarian ceviche to share as our appetizer which includes peppers, cucumbers, sweet potato, onions, chochos, crispy corn, avocado, the most delicious crispy yucca and an incredible tart and refreshing lime juice sauce. This was, without a doubt, the highlight of the meal. It was so fucking good that I was sopping up the last bits of diced cucumber and sauce with my spoon. I want to take a shower with that sauce. mmmmm. I was really intrigued by some of their peruvian/italian fusion entrees. We've been eating out a lot lately so I wanted to keep it on the lighter/healthier side and I ordered the quinoasotto which, as the name suggests, intends to be a quinoa version of risotto but it was more like fried rice with quinoa as the quinoa was nice and crisp and mingling with a bunch of veggies like asparagus, artichoke, onions, and mushrooms. This wasn't the best thing I've ever had but I liked the vegetarian and healthier option. GF ordered the yucca gnocchi which is supposedly handmade spinach, ricotta, and yucca gnocchi but I do not recall detecting any ricotta or any substantial spinach. The gnocchi were not soft pillows like I expect in a legit Italian restaurant but a bit more tough and sticking together, making their consumption less pleasant but ultimately I can't complain about consuming clumps of carbs. The gnocchi were served in an aji cream sauce which had an atypical flavor that I enjoyed but were not at all spicy as I would expect from an aji sauce. The food, other than the ceviche which was spectacular, was a solid three but I will give them the extra points for serving an unusual and intriguing cuisine fusion. read more

This place is a hidden gem! We always look for new restaurants on the Cape and came across Tumi. We initially decided on this restaurant because they advertise $1 oysters on Wednesdays from 4pm-6pm. There were 4 of us who sat at the bar and the bartender/maybe manager was so sweet and welcoming! She gave recommendations, explained different ingredients/spices native to Peruvian cuisine that we may have not tried before, and continually checked in with us to make sure everything was good. We ordered 4 dozen oysters which she explained were local to the Cape and were very clean and tasty. They are famous for their ceviche, so we ordered the special that day which was tilapia. It came with a variety of ingredients including sweet potato which was really interesting and added an extra layer of flavor we were not expecting! It was delicious and fresh. The lamb lollipops were perfectly tender with Andean spices that complemented the meat very well. Another great snack we had was the street corn with a lime aioli. When we first sat and said it was our first time, our bartender brought us over fresh bruschetta on the house which was actually outstanding! (We didn't try any of the Italian food on the menu besides this). This place is cute inside and you can tell the entire staff is very hard-working and wants its patrons to have a great experience! They don't play any music which is a bit off-putting but everything else makes up for that. It is hidden behind main street so you have to park behind it. They have a full bar with martinis, cocktails, wine, and Peruvian drinks/beers as well. The pisco sour was delicious! This was a really great fusion restaurant they brought Purevian and Italian together. There was outside dining but we were offered the bar because we had no reservation. I'm not a fan of dinner at the bar but I was presently surprised by how nice it was even thought the inside dining area was very tight, we thoroughly enjoyed the service & experience here. The bartender, Si, was incredibly helpful & super attentive to all the guest at the bar. He also made some great suggestions & recommendations regarding the menu. He provided excellent customer service! We enjoyed several items from the menu; the octopus, tuna ceiviche (very flavorful but the sauce wasn't visually pleasant), oysters florentine (was ok, lacking garlic despite it being a listed ingredient), tacu-tacu (rice & bean dish was very yummy) & Fettuccine A La Huancayna (bartenders recommendation, it was very delicious & I implore anyone who likes Fettuccine alfredo to give it a go instead of jumping to the traditional Fettuccine Carbonara). Having grown up in Peru as a kid, I am always on the hunt for tasty Peruvian food and I was just delighted with my meal at Tumi. I literally wiggled in happiness in my seat, listening to salsa, while eating their scrumptious fare. I don't drink alcohol so can't attest to their cocktails though they looked delicious. For us those looking for an interesting alcohol free option, Peruvian chicha morada is incredible. It's a purple corn drink with cloves and cinnamon. I could drink it daily if I could get it regularly. For an app I ordered the Traditional Ceviche which took me right back to my time in Lima. Quality Peruvian ceviche is actually hard to come by in the states because Peruvian lines have a distinct flavor to US limes. This was spot on. Ceviche is a must here. For my main, I ordered the Steak Tips Andino--flank steak with chimichurri, potatoes and asparagus. So wonderfully delicious. Tender and bursting with flavor. I dined outside and it was lovely. I walked in at 6 and was one of the first folks seated outside. By the time I left, the outside dining was packed at 7:15. I honestly might go back again tonight. There were several other dishes I wanted to try. I didn't get into the fusion Italian dishes simply because I love my Peruvian classics and I look forward to more taste filled adventures! read more

Our experience at Tumi was excellent! We stopped by for the 4 course dinner and left very full. Not only were the dishes very well seasoned and fresh, but also the portions were very generous! I opted for the house margarita, which was very refreshing and tasty. I also had the mixto ceviche and the mussels (which came in an amazing broth). My main dish was the lamb osso bucco, which was served with risotto and sweet potatoes in a rich sauce. The lamb was so big and so so tender, I was so glad to have ordered it. I also had the mango sorbet which was simply amazing as well. The staff and service was awesome and I honestly think that our experience at this restaurant was exceptional! I'll start with the good for this restaurant. Location is convenient, decor is modern and reflex. Peruvian and Italian influences... It works. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We came early, so there was no issue with volume of traffic. So a note to management, the menu you have on Yelp is several years older. The price is are very attractive, but sadly not the prices you have today. I would change that. We started out with a Caesar, and to be frank, it was nothing special. Didn't have enough dressing on it, not enough. Croutons and the salad quality was just okay. My wife got the lobster ravioli, she had seen a photo of it with a minimum of sauce. When her entree arrived, the ravioli was swimming in sauce. My fettuccine a la huancayna was not good. The sauce had a weird taste to it and seem to be drenched in butter. The crispy prosciutto are really pancetta. I asked for chicken on the dish, and the chicken quality was not great. Again, a previous photo showed crispy pieces of chicken that looked terrific. My Pollo was tasteless. If you come here, focus on the Peruvian food. They don't have the Italian down. The staff here is Latino/a - stick to the ceviche and the Latino dishes. read more

Luckily a placard pointed us in the direction of a charming little restaurant - casual elegance, and a nice respite from the souvenir shops. Our server recommended the Pisco Sour (light and refreshing for a little easy day drinking) and Peruvian ceviche. Surprise! We also enjoyed complementary bruschetta!!! In a word - sublime. Delicately seasoned - perfection. Then, we shared a lemony Caesar salad and tender crab cakes that compares with or exceeds any I've had (last year traveled to Baltimore - home of the crab cake.)
