This place is solid! Came here for with a run club (shoutout carb loaders!) and ordered the strawberry matcha (on special, not regularly on the standard menu) which was very refreshing post 5k. My order of power rancheros came out next, which had 3 over easy eggs and a lot of red sauce. 44 grams of protein alone, but I added the roasted chicken for even more. We were a 30+ person group so they laid out a special spot outside in the back, which was covered but was very pleasant. The surfer burrito was gone, replaced with a basic veggie burrito that was just meh. Very sad to see them take this off the menu. The chilaquiles were ok, definitely not healthy, and the order could use an extra egg. Latte prices are up to 10 dollars with alternative milks, which is exorbitant. The food here is excellent! I especially love the All I Avo Wanted with the blue corn waffle. It's got protein from the avo and the chewy carbs from the waffle and delicious garnishes. Cute location! First found this spot in SD so I was excited to learn they have an LA location. Decor and vibes were similar to the OG SD location with the staple decor and drinks. I ordered the season pumpkin spice latte with cold foam which was as expected, just a little too sweet for me but still overall, a good drink if that's what you like! Loved the indoor and outdoor seating with WiFi. My friend and I ordered drinks (listed and a matcha drink not pictured) and stuck around to do work. Be aware parking may be tough on street and there's parking lots in the back but I believe they are only vallet. Hello Everyone, we live just a few blocks from the Parakeet Cafe (26th and San Vicente) which use to be Le Pain- we loved Le Pain for it's tasty healthy menu. Since they left several places have occupied the space with no success until now. PARAKEET CAFE gets it!! They offer healthy, tasty options! If you are tired of getting healthy foods from Erewhon give this place a try. And Kim who served us was a sweetheart making it all the more enjoyable. Bring your pups as we did, they can even make a healthy dish for them. This place is so good, I always get the All I Avo Wanted which is a corn waffle with avocado, feta, egg, and salsa macha on the side and it all goes together SO well. I was so full at the end and it feels healthy and good quality. My boyfriend got the chicken Caesar wrap and really liked it, he even added some of my leftover salsa macha and said it worked so well. After visiting a friend in Westwood, i figured Brentwood would be the best area to fit my dietary needs and bomb found this spot on Yelp. I got the pink lemonade and she got the Arnold Palmer. They were both perfect and not sweet at all! The wrap was so refreshing and not soggy at all (that was my main concern) i liked that they opted for kale instead of the normal lettuce. The smashed burger was heaven. The bread was fluffy and the patty was great, i will say it was a little sweet for me, but i believe that's from the caramelized onions in it. It was kinda oily, but that's what you expect from a hamburger so def don't eat it if you're trying to cut lol The service was great, they were quick to bring the food and made great recommendations. Before we left we got a drink to go; i got the cold foam matcha and my friend the protein smoothie they had. Both were really good and not sweet (I'm not a huge sweet fan lol ) i also got a pear tart! It was really good, i found i like the crust more than the filling but im like that with most tarts. TOO LOUD! WHY? Since the Palisades burned down, we have been going to The Parakeet. The service is great. The food is good. BUT the ambiance is not for one reason: The music is so loud it's beyond an environment where people can gather and actually have a conversation without speaking very loudly. Over the last two years, the music playing inside seems to have gotten louder and louder. It's to the point now where you can hardly have a conversation with someone across the table from you. When I've asked for the music to be turned down, I have been told that they have a certain level that they have to keep the music. But it's very, very loud. At first, I was happy to have found this little gem. But each time I attempted to bring a friend or have a business meeting there we could hardly carry on a conversation without speaking very loudly, at times almost to the level of yelling, for the other person to hear. What is the problem? This issue has been raised over and over again. There is not one other restaurant anywhere that keeps its music that loud, blaring out of speakers everywhere. It's causing you to lose business. The other day I asked a friend of mine if she wanted to meet at The Parakeet or The Great White and she said, "Not the Parakeet. It's way too chaotic in there with the music blasting." So we went to The Great White. With this said, we are all 60s kids, so we know about loud music. We are definitely not old folks just complaining about cool music. But this is a cafe where the purpose is to join friends, eat, and share. So while mentioning this to others I was told that it is the owners who insist on the music being at the level it is. The staff there seem literally afraid to turn the music down. To wit: There is a review here where another person wrote about the music. Although she received a nice response thanking her for her feedback, you will notice one of the owners did absolutely nothing about it. What is going on? I've never been able to understand this utter resistance by the owners to keep the music pumping and churning so loudly that it's hard to enjoy your meal or your time with another person. And another thing. The Palisades Village is reopening August 15 with many lovely places to hang out, have a nice coffee, tea, snack and meal without having to beg for the music to be lower so people can at least talk. IF you have the combination of great food and a great ambiance, you have a winner. Without both you will consistently keep losing your loyal, returning customers. read more

I LOVE parakeet. I've been to every single one of them multiple times. But I've noticed a trend. The music volume keeps getting louder and louder. It's to the point where to have a convo you have to almost yell. It has crossed a threshold of where it doesn't feel good sitting inside. I asked them if they could turn it down and they checked with the manager and the manager said it's controlled by corporate and not able to be turned down. So I sat there eating my 10am breakfast sipping a latter while club music blasts...all knowing my ears would be ringing when I left. Guys- I love you. Turn the music down. I asked that pickled onions on avocado toast be switched to plain onions and was told we don't do that. The cashier said the kitchen is strict about this.
