What can I say about Le Chambertin except for the fact that if I lived in the area, I would be here almost everyday if I could. This little place is ran by the owner and only the owner. He has maybe 4 tables at most and 2 more tables if he puts tables on the sidewalk. So if you ever visit this place, be sure to go early or make plans to wait if there aren't tables. Ambiance? The ambiance is basically just tables and chairs in the front of his store entrance. A low key style cafe with not much to look at, but great conversation with the owner. We ordered the ham and cheese baguette and the spinach quiche as well as some homemade pastries. The owner is a baker by trade so you know his breads are fresh and homemade. His humor is also everything btw. You'll get a good laugh and amazing food. Can't wait to visit again if we're in the area.

This is an absolute diamond in the rough! He is nestled into a small courtyard with no sign.. nothing. Either you know or you don't! But if you can find this little shop he is the sweetest French man (from Jersey! As are we ) and his pastries are outstanding. Grab yourself an almond croissant and a coffee and you won't be disappointed!

A quaint, authentic French bakery and cafe tucked into the French Quarter. It's a bit hidden, but definitely a gem once you find it. The shop itself is small and cozy, as they only allow a couple of people inside at a time to keep things flowing. Seating outside is limited but available. I had the quiche and it was absolutely delightful. So fresh, flavorful, and authentically French. The owner was incredibly kind and helpful, offering thoughtful recommendations based on what I was in the mood for. They were also very sweet to my dog, brining him cold water and a fresh biscuit, which absolutely made my morning. I loved it so much I brought my husband back later that day to try more pastries. Definitely worth a stop if you're in Charleston and craving something charming, French, and delicious.

The owners were a bit rude... the seating area is very small, and only two people at a time are allowed in the cafe... but the baked goods didn't disappoint!!! Especially the cream bun!!! That cream is superb! Not overwhelming, light and fluffy! Delicious! And this is coming from and European baker

Adorable little bakery tucked back just a touch off the street. It has a beautiful front yard with tables and chairs set up. It's a quiet peaceful spot. They even have a very friendly pup to "guard" the place and visit with guests! The pastries are delicious and the owners are friendly and helpful. They have some small gift / craft items for sale too. Would definitely return!

There is no better croissant in the region! Our favorite is chocolate but we got some different varieties this trip! Super small shop with a good selection and cute sitting area out front. While they didn't have quite what we came for, they kindly helped me pick out some other options.

Not friendly. Not fresh. I didn't feel welcome in this establishment. The person helping us insulted us.

Was rudely denied service for having a stroller. Strongly recommend anyone with kids to avoid this place at all cost.

Iced coffee was refreshing I came back the next morning for another round. It was flavorful yet not sugary. It definitely gave me a kick and got addicted to it, except I'm only in the area for 4 days. Staff and manager were friendly yet professional. Although I was charged twice, the manager assured me they would fix it once the line was manageable. Somehow I trusted her word for it, just the manner with which she handled it was text book! Indeed, saw the overcharged taken care of by the next day. A must stop in downtown historic Charleston for sure! Great awesome pastries, sandwiches Parisian style made and clean refreshing breakfast beverages. This is the best patisserie option which actually lives up to its name, unlike those wannabe k ones!!!

The pastry case was full and beautiful with savory and sweet options. There's a fair amount of indoor seating and a few outdoor tables. I ordered a hazelnut latte which was bold and delicious. Despite saying I was dining in, it was served in a to go cup - I do wish I received it in a cup/mug. I also tried the almond croissant which was flaky and not overly sweet. The croque monsieur was indulgent and cheesy - although, I wish it was slightly hotter when served. The portion of everything matched the price.

Luckily, we were able to be seated immediately but it was very close quarters with surrounding tables. The menu is vast with different dessert options. If you want to know what cakes are available, you should check out the display stand right when you enter. Since we were there 2.5 hours before closing, there didn't seem to be a lot of cake options available, but my husband and I decided to share a slice of the s'mores cake with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream to make it à la mode. The s'mores cake was a chocolate cake with mini marshmallows, chocolate fudge, graham crackers, and more marshmallows. The cake was good and had everything I could ever want in it, but it was a little dry. I think this also had to do with it being the end of the night. The ice cream complemented the flavor well. It would have been better with a second scoop of ice cream though. Service was great! It took about 10 minutes from when we ordered to get our dessert. I would probably come back here again, but not so late at night so there would be fresher cake with more options available.

We waited about 5 to 10 minutes to be acknowledged while two employees stood nearby. The two layer chocolate caramel pecan cake, which our waitress initially could not find, was dry and tasted stale. I would not order it again. The Tollhouse pie was a bit better, but the presentation and the whipped cream were the standouts, and the whipped cream wasn't even homemade! That's the best thing I could say about our experience. The food, pricing, service, and ambiance all fell below average. When you are located downtown with so many great dessert options around, you really need to step up your game. We will not be returning.
