Super yummy drink! Very refreshing. I got the matcha cloudo (matcha later and jasmine tea). Super convenient location in CID, close to the light rail so you could easily stop by. Kinda an order and carry out place. Not many seats. Most of the seats were taken by people waiting for their drinks!
Delicious drinks and nice cafe aesthetic! I got the misty puer with boba - medium sweet and my husband got the hojicha oolong with boba - medium sweet and we both really enjoyed our drinks! We were especially happy with the boba quality! Service was friendly and its credit card only!
I came here the other day and got the mango drink which is kind of like a heytea dupe. It was pleasantly surprising, I like how they used a lot of fruit in it and I definitely want to try their matcha soon
A very cute café with a modern, minimalist design. I ordered the Matcha Island with boba, and it was such a refreshing summer drink. It was exactly what I needed after walking around Seattle on a hot day. The earthy matcha and creamy coconut blended really well together. The matcha was bold enough to shine through, while the coconut softened it without overpowering it.
I love this place! Its a short walk from the train stop (five mins). I got a blackberry grape tea with light sugar. Its my favorite place so far for fruit teas. I think it's better than YiFang signature fruit tea. I will definitely be back to try their other menu items.

It wasn't just any matcha latte, this "Matcha Cloudo" is made with a melodic jasmine green tea, and topped with sea salt cream. The jasmine is so pronounced you can't miss it. Love to see spots like this popping up, and can't wait to return. And maybe sit by the window and maybe stare blankly outside like I've got big thoughts. And sip another Matcha Cloudo. Pinch me! Le Grey is a cafe located in Internation District/Chinatown in Seattle. This is where the old Ambrosia Cafe was located before it shut down. It is a pretty small cafe with a few seats, mainly dedicated to saiting and waiting for your order to be ready. It is very modern and minimalistic inside. I ordered the iced Matcha Cloudo, which ended up being $7.75 without making any changes to it. The total after tax was $8.57. I wasn't sure what I was expecting from Le Grey, but I was absolutely blown away by the drink. The green tea is very fragrant which I loved! This is one of the best matchas I have had in Seattle in a while! My sister ordered the ice Hojicha Oolong + Oat, which ended up being $7.75 as well. This is great because that means even with the oat milk it didn't add on to the cost of the drink. Her total ended up as $8.57, too. The quality of the hojicha was great as well! Happily pleased and satisfied with our drinks from Le Grey! Looking forward to trying other drinks in the future.

The server was really helpful in customizing our drinks so that I could make sure mine was dairy free. They have some lovely tea options and everything was very well made and looked great. The inside seating though a bit small is very minimalist and classy. Would probably come back again if I was in the neighborhood.
The seasonal green cortado is one of the most unique matcha drinks I've had in Seattle. Topped with black sesame powder and nori, the savory notes gradually infuse into the drink as you sip, making each taste a little different from the last. The matcha itself is excellent and balanced enough to stand up to the milk instead of getting lost, which isn't always the case with specialty matcha lattes. That said, I was definitely surprised by the price. Since it's a cortado, the drink is served in a very small cup, which I expected, but I still had a bit of sticker shock when the total came out to around $10. The service also felt a little off during my visit. The employee wasn't rude, but the interaction felt very scripted and a bit rushed, leaving me feeling like I needed to make a decision quickly. There isn't much seating, so it's probably not the best spot to settle in with a laptop or catch up with friends for a while. The interior, however, is beautifully designed with a clean, modern aesthetic that makes the space feel thoughtfully curated. Despite a couple of small drawbacks, I'd absolutely come back for another cortado because the drink itself was genuinely memorable.

I came by when it was pretty busy and even then, the wait for the drink was very quick. Ordered the Matcha Makio with 0% sugar and they were persistent that I shouldn't order it because it was going to be too strong but after getting it, it didn't feel as strong as they were making it to be. Overall a good earthy taste and appreciated that it wasn't too milky. Would definitely come back again to try the other drinks.

It was fantastic, with the roasted flavor that I absolutely love from hojicha and liked that the creamy, cloud oat foam on top wasn't too sweet, just adding a little oomph to the tea. I highly recommend trying if you love hojicha like yours truly. Le Grey's space isn't the largest, but has some seating inside. Despite the line, it went by fast and we didn't wait long for our order on a Friday night. Any time I'm in the CID, I'll have to visit Le Grey for my caffeine fix. So bomb.

This place does remind me of how LA matcha cafes are like. The interior is very aesthetic! (RIP Ambrosia. Kinda crazy to see how it was before and now) I was very surprised how smooth the matcha was! I think the quality is pretty great! I got the matcha island oat and it was nice and refreshing with the coconut. I am the type of person who always gets the lowest sugar level and I think I'll probably get it with the standard sugar level next time. My friend got the matcha cloudo and the seasalt cream was so yummy! ALSO I think the price is pretty good and reasonable. It's nice that there's a matcha place in ID read more

Seattle-Area Boba Shop Review #122 I originally wanted to try out Le Grey for the first time during the CID block party but there was a line out the door and I didn't have time to wait. I revisited a couple of days later on Monday and it was much calmer. This was just after lunch and there wasn't a line at all. Le Grey espouses the aesthetics of a modern matcha shop with some atypical boba shop fare. They curate their menu extensively and, other than sweetness and ice level adjustments, highly recommend against adding toppings to certain drinks. The space is quite small and there aren't any tables for relaxing at. Instead, this is clearly meant to be a take out destination, with only some very uncomfortable wooden decor along the window to use as seating. Hojicha Oolong Oat, Medium Sweet, Less Ice ($7.75) - The bobarista told me that their signature sweet is around 70% compared to other shops. Medium is around 50%, which is what I usually get. In this case, I think it's about the case, so I found the drink to be sweet enough for me. The drink starts with an oolong base, which surprisingly doesn't contribute much in terms of flavor at all due to the hojicha added atop. The hojicha is great; it's roasty and toasty, richly flavored, and slightly astringent. The salted cream on top is perfectly. It's thick and luscious, creamy and dairy-rich with a slight tang and just a touch of salt to enhance the flavor but not induce saltiness. On this drink they add popped rice and green tea leaves ala genmaicha on top of the cream. It's certainly an interesting addition. The ice level is good for the drink, being not too excessive. I'm usually afraid of substituting oat milk in drinks because the flavor of oat milk tends to overpower teas, but in this case, it's barely noticeable. The barista highly recommended against adding boba in this drink and I followed the recommendation. Milk Tea Rating: 5/5 Brown Sugar Bobo Milk Tea, Medium Sweet, Less Ice ($6.75) - This is another richly flavored drink. The tea is malty and has slight fruity notes that reminds me of Assam. There's then a layer of brown sugar mineral flavor, then finally a thick milky tang after the cream cap is mixed in, It's a really great drink. The boba is stellar. It's marinated well until sweet and has great texture, smooth and super bouncy. It's served warm and this additional heat melts the ice quickly. I would go with normal ice levels in the future. Milk Tea Rating: 5/5 Boba Rating: 5/5 I didn't order matcha, but I don't think they whisk their matcha to order. I saw a couple of jugs of green liquid in the back, which I assume is used to assemble the drinks. I'm not sure I would pay this kind of money for matcha that's not made to order. Le Grey is one of those new and trendy shops, ones that seem more hype than substance, and I didn't expect to like nearly as much as I did. As it stands, it's probably going to enter my top 10 boba shops in Seattle, pending an additional visit or two to judge consistency. Bathrooms - None read more

The drink was fine, but wasn't what I was expecting. This spot has gotten super popular over social media recently and amongst the many matcha spots in the area it seemed to be getting a lot of attention and love. The inside is very pretty but there really isn't a whole lot of seating and definitely is not a place to work at. I got the oat matcha cloudo which had jasmine tea and a sea salt cream top. The drink itself was fine, but it really only tasted like jasmine tea despite it defined as a matcha drink. I do like jasmine tea a lot so I didn't mind it, but again I was expecting more matcha. I have tried a bit of the hojicha oolong drink which I do think tasted more like hojicha, so maybe get that one instead. read more

3.5 stars Warning for future patrons: the menu has symbols indicating "dairy". The drinks in the "oats" section that don't have the "dairy" symbol still contains dairy. The salt foam is made with dairy, so any drink that has the foam has dairy. My husband and I stopped by around 2pm on a Sunday and the tiny shop had about half a dozen folks waiting for their drinks. The ambience is modern and catching, service was meh, and the menu and ordering process is a little confusing. The drinks were alright, and a little pricy; our two drinks came out to $17 before taxes. I think it's a fun treat and worth stopping by if you're in the area or have a very specific craving. read more

Le Grey has become one of my favorite places in CID. The Matcha Cloudo - Oat was one of the best matcha's I have ever had in Seattle. It is so fragrant and floral. Jasmine green tea is layered in this matcha which makes it even more exquisite. The sea salt cream gives it the perfect touch. I had mine as signature sweet with less ice and oat milk. The same is to be said about how delicious the Hojicha Oolong - Oat was as well. I had these drinks on two different occasions. What I enjoy most is their unique menu! It is a smaller space and more convenient as take out, but it is beautiful on the inside and it smells divine. I wish it was a bigger space to sit and take in all the ambiance. Love! read more
Found this spot on TikTok and immediately knew I had to try it because I've been on such a matcha kick lately. I ordered the Matcha Cloudo and the Brown Sugar Boba Matcha. The Matcha Cloudo was definitely my favorite it's a jasmine milk tea with oat milk, matcha, and a sea salt crema on top. It tasted super floral, creamy, and refreshing. The sea salt crema tied everything together so well. (For my lactose people the crema on top does contain dairy so ask for the off if you are lactose intolerant.) I also tried the Brown Sugar Boba Matcha which was still good, but the brown sugar flavor kind of overpowered the matcha for me. If you're a big matcha lover, I'd definitely recommend the Matcha Cloudo over that one. The inside of the shop is sooo cute too, very minimalistic and aesthetically pleasing. I also really appreciated how thoughtful their menu setup was. They have little symbols for things like sweetness levels and food allergens (for example, dairy is marked with a blue water droplet), which makes ordering super easy and accessible. Overall such a cute spot and definitely worth checking out if you love matcha or fun specialty drinks. read more

Got the hojicha drink with the least amount of sugar and loved it. My friend got the matcha cloudo and no sugar (as she's really ok with unsweetened drinks) and I felt that it will be better with some levels of sweetness. The shop doesn't recommend getting no sugar and I agree. Line wasn't too long on Sunday at 2pm read more

Le Grey is one of those bougie tea places that makes you feel like you're in China. It definitely has higher quality tea than most, but I'm not sure if it was noticeably any different than any other international tea chain. I got the signature sweetness and thought it was way too sweet. The mitt pu'er tasted like a tiramisu latte. Very limited seating; only for waiting. read more

We ordered the Matcha Makio, which seems to be one of their signature and most popular drinks. It was smooth, well-balanced, and just the right level of sweetness without being overpowering. We also tried the guava lemonade which leans on the sweeter side, but the guava flavor really stands out, which I enjoyed. We went on a Saturday around noon and there was no wait, and the drinks came out quickly. Seating is pretty limited though, so we ended up waiting outside for a bit. Newer, clean, and minimalist tea spot. That's the emphasis though, the tea is the centerpiece of the shop yet fell a bit short. I'd say it's a bit overhyped, partly because they teased on social media for quite a while. Overall a fair spot mixed in with all the other solid tea around Chinatown, but doesn't particularly stand out. Our drinks were watery and had a fainter taste. I'd be interested in trying their boba and seeing if this experience was a one-off. Friendly service though! Not really meant for sit down, as they have a waiting area that also acts as a seating area, but no tables. Le Grey Green Tea w/ Sea Salt Cream - while the description says light green tea, I really didn't expect it to be almost water. Before the cream is mixed in, the tea tastes like leaves were dipped and removed. Either that or they put way too much water. Even after mixing the cream, the tea flavor was difficult to comprehend, but the drink was creamier at least. Overall, would skip this despite having the store name and being their specialty drink. Matcha Cloudo Oat - this met my expectations of a green tea because it's a jasmine tea base. This drink had a nice floral aroma, but matcha felt a bit buzzwordy because it's trendy. The dark green layering on the cup was promising, but there was no umami taste or grassy undertones. Matcha is a special green tea and honestly performs better by itself rather than with green tea. It's a good tea but expecting matcha may lead to disappointment. read more
Modern and trendy grab and go place. Matcha cloudo - 5/5 Jasmine green tea + matcha + milk + sea salt cream. This was IMPECCABLE, DELICIOUS, and EXQUISITE. I could drink one every day. I got signature (regular) sweetness and it was perfect! Their drinks are already not too sweet to begin with. The matcha and jasmine green tea was well balanced. The interior is really cute and there is some seating area, so I would say it's a small area to talk but not a place to work. The service was quick and simple - similar to HeyTea and other boba shop. Le Grey is a new addition to the Matcha/tea scene in the International District/Chinatown. I think the ambiance inside is very sleek and instrial. There's no tables but there is some seating. There's a wide variety of drinks but I would consider this place more of a matcha spot than a boba spot if you're looking for other types of drinks. It is in chinatown so you're gonna have to fight for parking. Compared to the other options it definitely is on the pricier side, this drink cost me about $9. I would come again if I was really craving it or if a friend asked me to go. Step in and you feel like your in Shanghai or New York. The interior design is contemporary, minimalistic, urban. A very nice "classed up" addition to Chinatown I must say. Space is too small though during the hype, but very much liked that you felt like you were in some completely different timezone. Thoroughly enjoyed the Mango Kinu, while mangoes are not in season, it was still delicious and the quality you could taste. The texture of the ice was fynnne and the coconut a perfect compliment. This drink will make me think of visiting everytime. The Match was not bad, tasted fine but nothing mind blowing. It was good, like UG matcha. Maybe I'm not a full blown match person, could be it. The wait if you started right outside the door is around 40 minutes. The line itself moved decently, its after the order that was the main wait. Nice new boba spot to try! I had their mango smoothie and it was good! I had cheese cream which I loved with the mango smoothie. Don't shake the drink, just swirl it before drinking! The ambiance was great! Very clean and organized and I loved how they decorated it. Simple and aesthetic. There's not too much seating though. The service was good. We finally get another matcha place in Seattle, and it's in Chinatown too! This takes the place of what used to be Yifang, which used to be Ambrosia, so this particular storefront has undergone many changes. The inside has side seating but not tables; most of the space is for the counter and kitchen where orders are made. It feels modern and minimalistic inside with the new and fresh decorations like a makeshift cherry blossom tree at the front. Menus are located at the front of the store and just before you line up to place your order. Most drinks here are matcha based, with some being original creations and others being their oat milk counterparts. I got their matcha cloudo with oat milk on medium sweet - BIG mistake on my part which I'll get to on the last paragraph - and my bestie got their hojicha oolong on signature sweetness. Now the matcha cloudo is amazing on its own; they use ceremonial which I could taste through the strong grassy and floral tones, and the sea salt cream gave it a nutty taste. My mistake was getting it on medium sweetness, which is less than their signature sweetness, and which I found out after having my bestie's hojicha oolong after noticing my matcha cloudo was bland. Speaking of that, the hojicha taste is strong, and it uses sea salt cream like the matcha cloudo. As implied from the drink I got, do NOT get anything less than signature sweet on your drinks - even if you're trying to avoid sugar. The staff at the front recommend this sweetness level, and I would stick with it too. Such a cute spot and the aesthetics are top notch! Happened to walk by before dinner and stopped by after for a little treat. Visited during their soft opening and it was chill inside. I could see this place becoming popular. Paid street parking, sometimes tough to find parking on the weekend. Take public transit if you can! So you can wander and try different spots in the area. Misty pu'er: I love pu'er and this was pretty roasty and bitter. A little too bitter for my taste. I might get a little sweeter next time. We got light ice and signature sweetness which isn't too sweet. I typically don't like very sweet either. The sea salt cream was so good! Very good texture, silky, and salty enough to pair with the drink Matcha cloudo: has jasmine green tea and matcha plus sea salt cream. Super tasty! Trying out a new tea place in Chinatown. Cute spot with a clean, modern aesthetic--definitely gives more "minimal tea bar" than typical boba shop. The space is small, so it's more of a grab-and-go place than somewhere to hang out. Drinks are solid--good quality matcha and not overly sweet, which I appreciated. read more
First off, pretty great marketing. Social media popped off before they opened, and the grey, modern aesthetic is def rare to the area at least. I came by on a Saturday late afternoon, and there wasn't a line to order, but I had to wait ~25 minutes for my drinks. I ordered the le grey green tea with sea salt cream, no sweet and it was not bad. I really liked the sea salt cream, but the tea was super light which I don't prefer. Halfway through the drink, the sea salt cream disappeared, and I was left with watery tea and milk, which was not very good. I'd be open to coming back to try other drinks, but wouldn't go out of my way to visit especially given the long wait times on weekends read more
A nice little tea shop with really good drinks. The space is pretty small - just two benches and no tables. But the minimalist, aesthetic interior made it feel elevated. We ordered the Hojicha Oolong with oat milk and the Matcha Makio, and both were really solid. The flavors were rich without being too strong or too sweet. The Hojicha Oolong was especially smooth, and I really enjoyed the cream top - it wasn't too thick. The staff were really busy and it took a little long for the drinks to come out but you can see How efficient they were behind the counter. Overall I was impressed by this spot! read more
