First time here. Was excited to try for lunch. Both of us ordered the chicken au jus sandwich with fries. The bread on my sandwich was barely toasted. The bread on my husband's sandwich was toasted dark. The sandwich filling consisted of shredded chicken & greens. It had very little flavor. The darkly toasted sandwich was more flavorful because of the crunch factor. The fries were yummy. The staff was very nice & welcoming. Nice outdoor & indoor seating. If you have never tried Le Marais Mill valley , you should. Le Marais " a shoreline " where everyone should spend the weekend and enjoy a good company. The food and beverage industry, customer service and hosting your guests is crucial and very important since it is 80% of success for a Restaurant establishment. I have been to Le Marais Restaurant many times for breakfast and brunch without disappointment, by which it is more than a Bakery. The front line customer service is effective, efficient and just fantastic. The dream team , Miss Youssra , haoua Eva and Miss Fariane are just great , very hard workers , They would welcome you with a smile and make your day easier , they also speak fluent French and Spanish. The service in general is outstanding and rapid . The food and the pastries are great, so are the sandwiches.. The kitchen, the chef and the cooks coordinates the service in a timely manner as well. The plates dressing and presentation is very good. The ambiance has a good energy and guests seem to enjoy their visit to the Restaurant. It's kid's friendly as well. The tables are kept clean . The only observation and suggestion I personally have noticed, it's kind of hard to see the restaurant from outside if you're driving. WOW! Their crab omelette is the best I've had. Sorry no picture as I didn't know what to expect until the second bite. Filled with crab sitting on a bed of sliced avocado. Served with a side salad that was just enough acid to balance the omelette. I'll definitely be back. read more

This is by far the best French restaurant I have had the pleasure to dine in outside of the loure Valley in France. A Michelin star rated chef from Paris opens an exceptional restaurant in Mill Valley, which is unheard of. Let's start with the main course. The boulinaiaise was by far the best I have ever tasted. A bay area resident for over 50 years. and a world traveler. I have never tasted anything this good. The scallops were fresh like they just cane out of a fish market. The mussels were the freshest I have ever had. The creme Brule was absolute perfection. The service is outstanding, and the waiters speak french. The ambiance reminded me of a French bistro in Paris. Outside seating as well with the beautiful Parisienne chairs you sit on in the middle of Paris. Prices are very reasonable considering everything was made to order. The wine from the loure Valley reminded me of my trip there. I will definitely come back again. Really, incredibly good food and cappuccinos at this bakery. We are local authors who stopped in and found the atmosphere pleasant, the service prompt and professional, and the food delicious. I ordered the French toast which was nicely decorated with a variety of fruits and overall quite heavenly. The chocolate croissant was buttery, fresh and tasty. We overstayed after closing (not on purpose) and never felt rushed. The tables provide enough space for laptops and sketching. The staff was busy but pleasant and they came around twice. When I say I was missing Paris I am underselling that. So finding a good French Restaurant just up the corner from me warms my Francophile Heart. A textbook Croque Madam, a Pan au Chocolat that had the perfect symphony, a perfect European Mocha , and the Classic Mimosa. Honestly my photos and videos can't give this meal justice. Furthermore I fell in love with every crunch of the bread richness of the ham and cheese of the Croque. Normally I don't like a runny egg but this paired perfectly with my meal. And normally I treat a salad with passive interest but the perfect! Vinaigrette , mustard spice and pepper made me eat every bite of the greens and tomatoes. Their service is not very pleasant - I felt like they were giving us a true Parisian experience by looking down their nose at us Americans. I get that it is an order at the counter kind of place, but they bring you your food then they never check on you - ever. And $3.50 for an Americano coffee with no refills? Would it kill you to do a refill - I mean, this is not Paris after all, and people expect coffee refills or they get crabby. Next time, I will bring a Starbucks coffee so you don't have to waste that money. read more

I had lunch here back in June and it was lovely. I had dinner here on Saturday night and had a lukewarm experience. The food was just so-so, the wine options were slim to none and what was available wasn't that good. The waiter was was so sweet and was trying very hard but he seemed confused and scattered and he seemed overwhelmed. I really want to see this place succeed. The pastries are very good as are the bread and sandwiches. I am giving 2 stars because there was no soap in the men's restroom and when asked, the staff told us "We don't do that." It's very unnerving when the team won't replace the hand soap because they've either been told it isn't their job or they don't know how because, if the cleaning agents are outsourced, management hasn't considered this. He seemed quite taken aback the moment we entered and quickly rushed to my caucasian friend's side as though it were a privileged conversation and he was sjielding her from me, to recite the wine list, with his back toward me. I am Native American, so I guess this is what prompted his biased view of me. Unaccustomed to racism, I didn't know what to think or how to act. So I did nothing and my companion did not notice. The food was good, not great, and.priced reasonably. As the evening played out, he seemed less appalled by my presence, so perhaps I dispelled some of his fear of brown people. Would I return? Delicious croissants, scones and other treats. The coffee is perfect and the setting such a treat. Each visit feels like a trip to Europe. The meals are also really well made with fresh ingredients. Really nice lunch menu with a variety of dishes ranging from eggs to sandwiches to salad. My husband and I both got the demi for half sandwich and half salad for $16. He had the turkey club and chicken caesar, I got the lamb sandwich and Mediterranean salad. The lamb sandwich was really good and unusual - thin sliced lamb with feta, tomatoes, cucumber, sprouts on toasted bread. It was a good size lunch and a reasonable price for the quality. My kids shared a ham quiche ($8) which was quite good as well. We didn't try any of the pastries, but the croissants looked excellent - large and flaky! Was very excited for a new bakery in town as it's something that could really help enliven Mill Valley. Unfortunately, the quality of the pastries comes nowhere near that of the other bakeries around. They're very nice to look at, but lacking in taste and substance--they were all gummy and sour, not flakey and buttery. Where sugar was used, there was too much of it (chocolate was very sweet as was the cookie). Also the butter used for the cookie was browned so much it tasted burnt. Not to mention how expensive it is! We spent almost $20 on a cookie and one of each croissant (plain, chocolate, and ham & cheese). I'd be fine with that price point if the quality warranted it, or if it's to subsidize paying their employees a living wage... but honestly I enjoy Costco croissants more. I've been to France many times and can say firsthand that these don't even come close to comparing to the quality of the pastries overseas. Which, granted, is to be expected--although with the heavy "Authentic French Bakery" branding I would expect something closer to the real thing, Hoping the quality changes, and if it does I'll update this review. Delightful cafe with ample indoor and outdoor seating. The space is beautifully designed. We had the Asian salad which was light and delicious. I would definitely return. Even though there is a parking lot behind the cafe, I found parking challenging and parked a few blocks away in a residential area. The counter staff were lovely people. But ordering at the counter takes much longer than at similar establishments. Perhaps some thought could go into streamlining this process. read more

Welcome to Marin, Le Marais! I've enjoyed the Castro location in the city for several years. Moved to Marin a year ago and was so happy when this location opened up. The manager is super gracious, nice waitstaff and excellent food. Delicious pastries, great salads (generous portion too). We come here almost every weekend. Highly recommend! read more
