I have been a Le Peep fan for years from all the way back in my college days when I frequented one in the Chicagoland area. The Aksarben location is my favorite Omaha location, the service is always fast and friendly, and this location has a bright and airy feel to it. There are so many local breakfast/brunch places that I love in Omaha, and i know Le Peep is a chain, but the food is so good I can't resist going on occasion. I've had several items on the menu over the years, all were good, but my go to is the 18 wheeler. The French toast is amazing, and the sausage, eggs, and peasant potatoes are always cooked perfectly. I haven't been here in years so I thought it was time to treat myself to brekkie. Everyone with whom I came in contact today was super pleasant and friendly-- greeter, server, table busser, and cashier. I noticed it, that's how unusual it is. They pride themselves on their coffee, as do many breakfast spots, but the coffee here hits the mark. They also have various barista-made coffees and seasonal special drinks. Right now it's pumpkin season, so that is favored in specialty drinks as well as the food menu. Today I was torn between three different items, but the server, Caitlyn, made it easy for me by suggesting ways to combine the three into a customized dish. So I got the Drifter with scrambled not basted eggs and biscuit not English muffin. It was great -- peasant potatoes topped with cheese, onions, mushrooms, peppers, zucchini and scrambled eggs. YES! YES! YES!. Go here, go here for amazing food, Great service, and a clean well lit eating experience. I can not stop talking about the MONTE CRISTO crepes. Ham and turkey stuffed crepes covered in Gruyere cheese! That's my favorite breakfast of this entire year. Couple those crepes with a side of Corned beef hash and I am a happy guy. The Tex-Mex burger is not anything to scoff at it is a solid choice as well. Don't sleep on the chicken fried steak either. It is one of the best in town. They make great smoothies here and the Chuck Berry is amazing. It can get busy here real quick, but everyone here handles the crowd very well. Get the Crepes. read more

What a pleasant experience - a superb breakfast spot in the Aksarben area. Great food, better than average service, and by sitting at the coffee bar, some great entertainment watching drinks get made, dishes washed and employees interact. It's been quite awhile since I've been to Le Peep and I was so surprised! The menu is incredibly extensive! The pickiest eater could find anything and absolutely love it!! Even kids have their own menu although I could not find it on their website. We had a large group so the wait was rather long but the manager came out and was very nice about making us wait. Went there with two littles and they were very accommodating the Saturday before Mother's Day and got us right in with no wait. We did a "call ahead" about thirty minutes prior to our arrival. They have crayons and large colorable kids menu. Their cinnamon roll pancakes are the perfect crispy outer soft inner you look for and the flavor was exceptional. My Benedict was perfectly cooked. I am a gluten-free (celiac) diner from out of town. I walked to the Aksarben location from my hotel. Per their menu when you google "le peep Omaha gluten free", it appears they have MANY gluten-free options on a separate menu; however, when I called the location to double check, the man I can only assume was the manager, stated everything is gluten free minus the pancakes, waffles, and bread. This answer always gives me pause due to the fact many don't know what gluten is. Unfortunately, just last week a diner with an egg-allergy/celiac had a very bad experience and posted it on the Find me Gluten free app stating she too had issues with the manager and determining what is gluten-free; however, since I do not have an egg allergy, I still chose to try out the establishment. Now, my in-restaurant experience: "Raena V" per our receipt was FANTASTIC! She checked on my latte syrup and the peasant potatoes to make sure they were gluten-free and notify the kitchen of my allergy. I am disappointed in The restaurant though because when she had my toffee nut latte made, no one informed her the toffee nut topping for the latte was not gluten free. I am glad I went up to the bar to check for myself because it was not. I was (luckily) able to scoop all the whip cream and toffee pieces off without fuss. The meal overall was tasty but the inconsistencies in restaurant vs online menu/instagram info leave allergy diners confused and frustrated. read more

First the food here is AMAZING! Everything on the menu is good it makes you want to order multiple entrees. They have a breakfast burrito that is delicious that randomly I will think of and drive there to eat. The choices for coffee and lattes is also awesome. They are made well and delicious. The customer service here is unmatched. Everyone is polite, attentive, and makes sure you are well taken care of. Extremely friendly and upbeat kind people here. Seating is a little close because it's more tables than booths and the ambiance feels a little like a quick in and out place you eat at. Absolutely LOVVE going here! It's spacious, great customer service and the food and coffee phenomenal! I always get the pancakes, which are filling and the coffee is next level. Need I say better than Starbucks! What makes this place even more unique is the rewards program, you get a stamp for spending over a certain amount which can add up quick and once the card is filled.. you get a dollar amount off the total! From the moment I walked in I was impressed. Very clean, modern farmhouse vibe to the place. One of the things that impressed me the most was that they had a robust coffee selection. I say this because traditionally we have sought coffee separate from breakfast because most establishments specialize in one or the other. But Le Peep, succeeded at both!! I started with a cinnamon latte, delicious. For breakfast I had the Spinnaker omelet with artichokes. Again, delicious. My wife and daughter fully enjoyed their meals as well. The menu is extensive and pretty much the same as other the other places. They have some artisan coffee with other flavored hot drinks. The Omni omelet was good but nothing really special that stands out. Their Monte Cristo Crepe on the other hand was really good! I really liked the savory flavor mixed with some sweetness of the powdered sugar and the raspberry sauce. We picked a very busy day and very busy time to eat here. We knew there was a wait but the 15 minutes went by fast. Our server was pleasant and quick even with the full house. I had the bacon avocado omelette which came with potatoes and English muffin. The omelette was so good and filling that this place may take over first place for breakfast/brunch place. One of my guest had the Smoked Salmon Avocado Toast with a Belgium waffle. She had never been to Le Peep but said she needed to bring her breakfast loving husband next time. We are from out of town and seen that this place had 4.5 stars. Was nice, good service, but food was not the greatest. We ordered the Mexican burrito (sorry forgot the name), was large and smelled good but lacked in flavor, I ordered the strawberry crapes and they were horrible. The crape tasted like egg not a crape, there was so much whipped cream that it melted and made the crape very soggy, so I plucked the strawberries out and ordered white toast. They did offer to make new crapes, but I didn't want to wait longer, we had plans. 2 slices of thin sourdough toast was $5. Another person in our party ordered French toast and ordered the 4 slices, I pictured regular bread but it was very thin sourdough dunked in their custard base. My daughter said she had better and wouldn't order again. We ended up picking up food 2 hrs later somewhere else on our way out of town.
