My wife and I went for an impromptu lunch today when I unexpectedly got home from work early. It was a beautiful, sunny afternoon with a gentle breeze so we decided to dine al fresco. A nice place to do just that is "Le Petit Triangle Cafe" on Fulton in Cleveland. It's a cute little French cafe with sidewalk dining and a nice country French menu. Perfect for a snack or a meal. My wife had an excellent herb omelette and I very much enjoyed my smoked salmon deviled eggs. We followed that with a Chia tea and a good cup of coffee, along with a shared lemon curd crepe. Almost everything was perfect. The only reason for the 4 instead of 5 is really something they have no control over. However, it has a profound effect on the outside dining experience. Traffic on Fulton can get quite noisy, and that is unfortunate. Everything else was a pure pleasure. And the traffic problem is remedied simply by eating inside. We visited on a Saturday morning and were able to get street parking nearby. I made a reservation for four a day or two before, so we were able to get seated right away. The menu is fun with lots of French brunch options. The main issue is that we waited around 45-60 minutes for our food to come out. The portions were also on the smaller side, but flavors were goods overall. The atmosphere is nice, small and cozy and comfortable--definitely a cute brunch spot. read more

This place is so quaint, you walk in and think ...where am I gonna sit? It is divided into 2 incredibly distinct areas of seating. The tables are closely placed so if you are looking for privacy, this is not the place. The food has great recipes and flavors, although the portions are conservative. We had plenty of variety. The escargot was garlicky good. The New England clam Chowder was a bit salty but full of clams. Let's move to the beet salad...loaded with sweet beets! Yum. The scallops appetizer was well portioned but the mushroom cheese sauce was missing in mine. Lastly, to end on the best note, the bouillebaise was perfect! Yes, I will always return because I need to try other items! There is one restroom on the floor and 2 more tiny private ones downstairs, but it is a potentially dangerous trek down and climb up. This is the second time I have been here and I really enjoy it each time. The décor is French and fun, the wall colors and bright and cheery, the staff is welcoming, and the food is delicious. We came here with my husband's friends for brunch on a Sunday at around 12:45pm. I ordered an espresso martini and it hit the spot. I also ordered the bacalao benedict, without the bread to make it gluten free. It was salt cod potato cakes, with 2 over easy eggs and potatoes. It was wonderful. I really enjoyed the flavors together. I would highly recommend this dish. My husband ordered the buckwheat salmon crepe, so that I could try it, as it is gluten free made with their buckwheat flour, and it was also great. Like a lox bagel without the bagel. I had a lovely evening at Le Petit Triangle with a friend. Inside was adorable and I felt like I was overseas! We had a wonderful window table too. Service was excellent. Cute place for a weekend brunch with friends! Came on a Saturday with a reservation. Got a London fog with oat milk ($5.50, basic, nothing special). The savory French toast ($13) was a favorite by the staff. While it was pretty unique, it might not be for everyone since it was a bit strange to have mushrooms with the toast that was covered in maple syrup. 4/5 The mushroom crepe with add on bechamel ($14+extra $1) was my favorite. Definitely recommend for mushroom lovers since this was densely mushroom flavored. Bechamel sauce gave more creaminess to the dish. Appreciate that it came with a fresh side salad that balanced out the richness. 5/5 I didn't end up finishing everything so I took the cinnamon roll croissant ($4) back and reheated it later in the air fryer. While it didn't look as impressive, It was one of the best croissants I had in a while, great texture and taste. 5/5 Service was friendly, the ambience was small and cozy. I had a party of 2, upon arrival I was immediately sat. I do not think that there is a/c inside and the chairs were not that comfortable for how long you have to sit there. The restaurant was rather empty for a Saturday at 1 pm but we still had to wait 45 minutes for 2 sandwiches. The food was really good. I would definitely get the chicken salad sandwich again. Came here for dinner with my family tonight. We sat in the outdoor patio area because we brought our pup along. We tried the triangle salad, French onion soup, mussels, and cod cake as appetizers. I really liked the cod cake and the sauce the mussels came with. For entrees, we ordered the beef bourguignon, roasted cod, and chicken piccata. The beef in the bourguignon was a little tough, but the flavor of the stew was very good. The chicken piccata was super delicious and definitely my favorite dish of the night. For dessert, our waitress recommended the banana fosters crepe, which was super yummy (though maybe a tad too sweet). I enjoyed the texture and temperature contrast between the fluffy crepe with warm rum sauce and the cold vanilla ice cream on top. The cafe is small and charming, and parking on the street was easy to find nearby. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the kind of dishes they serve (seafood, steak, etc). The only qualm we had was that there were an annoying number of flies landing on our food when we were sitting outside. We ended up dropping our dog off in the Tesla, and the wait staff were very accommodating in moving us indoors. However, it was a really hot and humid day, and the lack of AC indoors made dinner a bit more uncomfortable. This cutie little restaurant served yummy European-inspired food. We came here around 11:30 am and looked really small as you enter but had more seatings towards the back. We were dropped off menus and water. I thought service was okay, felt like we waited a long time for our server to get our order. When she finally stopped by, we went ahead and ordered our drink and food. I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk and a ratatouille crepe with buckwheat flour. The cappuccino was delicious but found it a bit too strong so I added some sugar. The crepe though was delicious! I had bechamel on the side and it didn't really need it. Unfortunately, my visit to Le Petit Triangle Cafe failed to impress in any capacity. I had some friends in town and had been wanting to come here for a while, so we decided to come in for brunch on a Sunday. We joined the online queue and after a 45-minute wait, received a message that our table was ready. When we arrived, the host informed us it would be "2 minutes" as they were still setting up the table. After waiting outside for an additional 35 minutes, I went inside and let the host know that they needed to give us a realistic timeline, as the lack of transparency was disrespectful of our time. I didn't mind waiting, it was the miscommunication that was frustrating. In response, the host said, "Do you want me to go and make the table get up?" a completely unprofessional remark. He showed not a moment of remorse, and when we were finally seated 5 minutes later, the interaction was non-existent. Not a single "I apologize for the wait." The food was fine, but not worth the ordeal. To top it off, towards the end of our short stay,just 45 minutes total at the table, our server created a hazardous situation by arranging a neighboring table in a way that blocked the exit path for one of our guests, who was seated against the wall (photo attached). Asked if I could sit at the bar which was pretty rudely refused due to waiters not having enough space to walk by. I already wasn't enthusiastic about dining here. Patiently waited with multiple people in line behind me. The host comes up to the last people in line and very politely asks them to follow him to the table. The food here was absolutely amazing! We loved everything we tried. I highly recommend the ratatouille crepe. The ambiance was so nice and intimate, it felt old school and cozy and welcoming. Overall the service was good but also rather slow. We were on our way to a show after dinner and getting our bill took so long we ended up having to race to make the show on time. The hot chocolate tasted like Swiss Miss, which was a little disappointing. The French toast and crêpes were okay, not bad, but just simple. I used to take my mom here for Sunday brunch when I lived in Chicago because it reminded me of the quality of restaurants we have in Chi-town where the competition is more fierce than Cleveland (not a dis on Cleveland). Their menu and food are exceptional. It is classic French countryside cooking; it's honest, simple, and full of flavor. Their escargot is excellent; you can tell they use quality, fresh ingredients. They serve it with amazing bread. Their omelettes, sandwiches, (Croque Provencal) are simply wonderful. The ambience is unpretentious, more like a brasserie, but it's honest. It reflects the menu perfectly. And the menu is excellent! It's true, their service is wanting, but their food is excellent. My wife had a veggie quiche with a small salad and berry bread with goat cheese. It was delicious. I tried it and agreed. I had a croque monsieur and was disappointed. The ham was very salty and there was too much mustard on the bread. The bechemel sauce was too thin. The roasted potatoes were perfect. I'm sure there were better choices. All in all, a positive experience with many other choices in an authentic French cafe. By the way, the prices were reasonable for the meals. read more

Visiting from Michigan with friends for the weekend. My husband did a little research and found this beautiful gem of a restaurant. Made 8:45 reservations for dinner for the four of us not knowing we were the final seating of the evening. You would have never known by how graciously and welcoming we were greeted. We asked to sit outside since it was such a beautiful evening. Started with escargot, mussels, a bottle of wine and one espresso martini. Our server, Phil, was superb!! Helpful with answering our questions and gave excellent recommendations which we all took. One espresso martini turned into three and the next thing we knew the restaurant was closed and when we apologized they didn't bring the check, they brought the dessert menu. The steak frites, coquille st. Jacques, rack of lamb and "mushroom stew" were fantastic and satisfied our appetites with their generous portions....however, we couldn't resist ordering the crème brûlée and crepes au chocolat There aren't enough words to describe how special each and every person made us feel during our experience. We chose this wonderful restaurant for our 33rd wedding anniversary dinner and it did not disappoint! From the greeting at the door to the outstanding wine and drink selections (we chose a buttery, somewhat fruity Chablis that was so good I wish I had bottles of it at home, at the suggestion of our server who happened to be the daughter of the owner and exceptionally knowledgeable about everything in the entire restaurant), to the fantastic appetizers (I had the onion soup, my wife had the watermelon gazpacho and our son had the duck comfy. It's a very cute place, but it is small with a very slow kitchen. Expect to wait a while. It gets busy for weekend brunch, so plan ahead and make a reservation if you don't want to add even more to the wait time. The food is good, not great. Their shaksuka is not really shaksuka and was quite disappointing, but most other dishes are good and fresh. I recommend the mushroom crepe with buckwheat. The savory croissant was a nice option but sadly it was ice cold and hard, like it had just been taken out of the freezer. I came here as a surprise dinner to celebrate my one year with my partner. He made reservations and we were both excited to try it as it had high ratings and reviews. Walking in, the decor is very rustic, eclectic, Parisian cafe vibes. It reminded me a little of Le Petit Prince in the 5th which really raised my expectations. We were sat at our table and our waiter came by to see about drinks. We ended up forgoing drinks but ordered escargot to start and I got the magret de canard. The escargot were alright, to me they were underseasoned. It still had a nice texture and meaty bite but I was definitely missing the compound butter I'm so used to with escargot. The duck came with swiss chard and a sweet potato mash. The star of the night really was the mash, it had great flavor and was super smooth. The fat on the duck was not well rendered which left soggy skin. There were also pieces that had quite a bit of sinew/tendon which doesn't make for a pleasant bite. For a restaurant that is very well reviewed, I was rather disappointed by their offerings. As a moderately priced restaurant, I was expecting a bit more but who knows, maybe it was an off night. read more

This was my first time at Le Petit Triangle and I'm glad I got to try it! The interior is quaint and adorable and I like that they also have patio seating. I came with my friend on a Wednesday evening the day after a tornado in Ohio, so the restaurant was understaffed. Because of that, our service was understandably very slow, even with a reservation. It took over 30 minutes to get our drinks and have our food order taken (which is inadvertently very French of them!). Our waiter told us drinks were on him for the wait; however they ended up on our bill anyway, which was a bit of a bummer. The food was decent but not the best I've had. My duck leg was pretty tasty but difficult to cut. It came with a very generous serving of lentils. My friend got the boeuf bourguignon, which had a nice hearty broth but the beef was quite tough to chew. Our drinks were summery and refreshing.
