If you're driving through Lake Elsinore and blinking, you might miss this absolute gem, but Le Rendez-Vous Cafe is worth the U-turn. It's rare to find a spot that feels this authentic without being pretentious, but they've nailed the "French countryside" atmosphere right in the Inland Empire. The Food The menu is a love letter to crepes. I opted for a savory galette, and the buckwheat flour was perfectly thin with those crisp, lacy edges you usually only find in Brittany. The Savory: The ingredients were fresh--no soggy veggies or cheap cheese here. The Sweet: I couldn't leave without trying a sweet crepe. The presentation was beautiful, and it wasn't cloyingly sugary; it was balanced and sophisticated. The Coffee: Their espresso game is strong. It's the kind of place where you actually want to sit and linger over your latte rather than taking it to-go. The Atmosphere & Service The decor is charming and cozy, making it a perfect spot for a quiet breakfast or a cute brunch date. The staff is consistently welcoming--you can tell they take pride in what they're serving. It's a refreshing break from the usual fast-food chains lining the main roads. The Verdict Le Rendez-Vous is a reminder that good things come in small packages. Whether you're a local or just passing through on the way to the lake, do yourself a favor and stop in. It's easily one of the best breakfast/lunch spots in the area. Pro Tip: Try to get there a little earlier on weekends, as it's a small space and fills up fast!

Oh, wow! What a great restaurant and a great experience! Rendez- Vous opened just over a year ago and I had it BM'd, after seeing it pop-up in several reviews. It absolutely did not disappoint us. We came on a Saturday and they were busy, but not crowded. The three of us sat in their large dining room, opposite the bar as you come in. Water glasses were filled and menus provided. All very professional and friendly. Nice. We started with some appetizers and I just had to try their Escargot. It had the right amount of butter and garlic and it was perfect. Our daughter ordered the French Onion soup and she too, found her's amazing. For our entrées, we went with the Chicken Marsala, Champagne Chicken and Shrimp. All were delicious. We then ended our evening with their Molten Lava Chocolate Cake. Five Stars. Expect to pay around thirty-five dollars each plus extra for libations

Always heard good things about this restaurant and finally got a chance to try it. The food was good. My husband ordered the trio meat omelette and everything was well made. I ordered the meatloaf bordelaise and it was very good. Everything about the meatloaf was good and the mushroom gravy was the best according to my hubby. The banana fosters were yummy and not too sweet. And that was the icing to the cake that sealed the deal for the day. The server was nice and ambiance was nice. Definitely will come back to try the other dishes maybe come for dinner or weekend meals.

Ok, I am stunned. I was invited to a French restaurant in Lake Elsinore so read the reviews, all positive. One mentioned 'meatloaf',... wait,... at a French restaurant?? The wine was WAY better than expected the meatloaf was very good. The chicken Marsala and champagne chicken were good, I tasted the sweet chili salmon and I think I'll get that next time. Shocking isn't it, no disrespect for Lake Elsinore, but a decent, inexpensive French restaurant, what a pleasant surprise.

I love this little spot. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. We ordered the mimosa flight which saves you if you're going to drink. The sunset was sweet and tangy. We ordered the Cajun omelette, split it with an order of the stuffed french toast as well. Both came out hot and tasted fantastic. Not too greasy or salty or overly sweet. I would stop by again for good breakfast or brunch!

We been to all three of their locations: San Bernardino, Colton and now Lake Elsinore. We always have a great time and Russell really is a treat. It's always so great to meet someone who takes such pride in their work. Although we love their regular menu, holidays and special events menu are such a fun experience! Their location is right off the freeway and in the downtown where you can take a walk before or after eating. Parking is free but the ones in front are usually taken so I recommend parking in the back. My favorite is the chicken crepes but the pot pie is great too!

My niece recently moved out to Lake Elsinore, so I went to visit her and have lunch. She chose Le Rendez-Vous, she had never been. We didn't realize the weekends were brunch only, she had seen some items on the lunch menu that she wanted to try, but they weren't serving them. We did ask if they would, the waiter said no. There was another couple that came in after us, they asked if they could have the normal menu, were told no, and they got up and left. Ambiance is blah, and the chairs were uncomfortable. It was dark in there, it almost felt like the lights weren't on and the only light was coming from the window in front. Waiter was nice, as was some other guy who checked on us a sporadically. My iced tea was refilled a few times. The menu didn't scream French to either of us, aside from crepes, which neither of us wanted. She got their Pineapple Brûlée Pancakes, it was just normal buttermilk pancakes with one piece of pineapple on top. I tried the cakes, they were kind of dry and not very sweet. The menu said it has a sweet vanilla sauce on it, neither of us picked up on that. She said the pineapple was caramelized and she liked that, but overall, she wasn't impressed. I had Ham Benedict, which is normal eggs benedict, but also has spinach. The house potatoes on the side were pretty good. Their hollandaise was one of the worst I have had, the flavor was just off, and there was barely any of it. I love a lot of sauce so I can mix it with the potatoes, but I was unable to do that. The ham was thick, but lacked flavor and I got one bite that was super tough and hard to chew. The entire dish lacked seasoning. It got the job done though, I was starving when we arrived and wasn't hungry when we left. Brunch was $50 for our two entrees, a lemonade, and an iced tea. Niece said she might come back to try the lunch items she was craving. I don't think I would come back though.

First time at this restaurant and we arrived about 4 in the afternoon. Although we were way ahead of the dinner crowd the place had a few people there. I ordered the Lagunitas IPA, French Onion Soup and the Meatloaf. OMG! Fantastic meal! The soup was exceptional and the meatloaf had mashed potatoes and sautéed veggies. All were warm and delicious. The soup was hot and delicious! Liz was our server and she was excellent. The place was very clean and welcoming. As we were leaving the owner said "Thanks for coming" and that will bring us back! Great hospitality. A must try.

Tuesday lunch date with my guy. Out Freaking Standing! I almost hate to rave about this sweet little cafe. It's gonna get busy here when wird gets out. Le Rendezvous Cafe is located in the heart of Lake Elsinore's Historic Main Street District. Cute little mom n pop shops are lined up in this area. There has been ALot of improvements to this area. Gentrification I guess you could call it...but it looks and feels nostalgic and good over here. Service just enough, not intrusive. French onion soup, delectable. Shrimp po' boy the freshest & crunchiest breaded shrimp, perfectly balanced slaw and the "bun" was fluffy and firm all at once. Bacon blue cheese burger excellent and so big! Raspberry tea was choice as this was a celebration lunch not dinner..lol. Bar is inviting. Decor was simple and reminiscent of a Parisian Cafe. Happy Anniversary to us and we found our new favorite spot for a luxury meal at a reasonable price of exceptional quality. Thank you.

Wonderful! Everything has so much flavor and the ingredients just taste better quality than most restaurants. I got the pole (fish) and I loved it came with two great size filets mashed potato's seasoned perfectly and veggies. I loved the carrot haha. My mother got the Cajun chicken pasta & added on chicken that was great it came with little pieces of veggies zucchini carrots and maybe some other items. Garlic bread was even great haha I loved the way they cut the loaf makes the dish just look even that more unique. Great place. I'll be going back this week to try something else

Does this place has a view?

Sort of. The front few tables have a window view of the sidewalk and street. Mainly, LRVC is a place to go for amazing food and service.

Do you serve lamb chops for lunch and do you have a full bar?

No full bar yet, waiting on license. Beer and wine available

Do you have a kids menu?

Yes there are kids menus, high chairs and booster seats!

    What are their updated hours?

9 am to 8 pm, Saturday and Sunday, and 10 am to 8 pm Tuesday through Friday. Closed Mondays.

How is the Sunday Buffet being handled to follow COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions?

They are not doing the buffet anymore just order from the menu for breakfast they still have bottomless mimosas for 8.99 though.

    Still offering tableside flambe?

Not at the moment, apparently the Covid restrictions forbid tableside service.

    What are the breakfast times?

    They serve breakfast till 2pm.

Do they have private room or big table for around 10 people?

Yes, I had my birthday there with a party of 10.

It looks out of business and boarded up?

Kathy T. is correct. I called the restaurant too. They are definitely open and providing great cuisine. The location is on Valley Blvd. in Colton.

Do they have a happy hour menu?

They did a few months back, but they recently discontinued it.

Thursday at 10:30 am and it looks closed. I'm so sad! Are the hours incorrect?

It's always dark inside, so it may appear closed, but they do open at 9am

Are all of the styles of French toast available as part of the all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch buffet or do you have to purchase them separately?

I only saw one type of French toast .

Is there a semi-private room available to rent for a baby shower during Sunday brunches? If so, how much does it cost?

We held a birthday party there last year during the Saturday brunch for 17 people, it was perfect. They have a large room, but you will be sharing it with others as well. They didn't seem to mind the noise. Fantastic brunch!!

How much is the bottomless mimosa?

You can have champagne or Mimosas, you add the bottomless drinks to your Brunch. I believe the Mimosas were $4.99 and $3.99 for the Champagne. It was such a great Brunch

How much will it be to rent a room?

    $$$$

During brunch, do they serve escargot either as a buffet item or off the menu that I can order with the brunch?

Thank you very much for your inquiry. We do not offer escargot in the buffet or on the menu during buffet hours. However, it is very important to us that we accommodate guest requests as often as possible. Many times is you make a request like… Read more

Hidden in an upscale strip mall in the beautiful, hilly area of Lake Elsinore near Canyon Lakes, we arrived at this cute cafe. They have a small but beautiful, hard to resist patio. We resisted this time. Too hot, June gloom was a no-show. They offer weekday specials, including very affordable breakfast options that run under $9...if you get there on time, before 11, I think. We didn't. So, lunch it was. The menu is diverse and interesting, a mix of American and Mexican diner food. Our meals ended up being a half pound Mushroom Swiss burger and a Reuben on rye. Both were delicious. We both chose a side of big, crispy onion rings that come with their Ranch dip. These were a nice surprise, an exceptional bonus that won our hearts. We had the pleasure of chatting with the owner, a very friendly man who has put his heart into his business, while waiting for our food to come out. As a result of that conversation, I realized I will need to try their corned beef hash someday soon. While it comes pre-made from a supplier, he emphasized that the finished dish has added ingredients to round out the flavor and make it their own. Go ahead, lure me back. I love a good hash. He also brought out a complimentary glass of his special cucumber lime beverage, house made, to share. Very refreshing and addictive. I highly recommend. This was a totally great experience, one that I hope to repeat next time we are in the area. Good food, great service, friendly vibe.
