After several years of dining with Le rendezvous Cafe, I could just about be an expert on their delicious menu that usually seems to be upgraded at least annually. The head chef is caring enough to even leave from his work to make sure that customers are enjoying his exquisite meals. This is where I would not like to exhort the food as much because the price point is so appropriate for the ambiance provided. The food here was good. The water was gross, they definitely need a water filter. I didn't love the ambiance, so personally I wouldn't choose this place for a date. Our waiter was very kind, I liked him a lot! BUT he disappeared after he gave us our food. I've noticed a lot of waiters do that lately, then if we need some sauce or a drink or anything we end up either waiting until our food gets cold or just eating it and getting it at the end of the meal. Oh, wow! What a great restaurant and a great experience! Rendez- Vous opened just over a year ago and I had it BM'd, after seeing it pop-up in several reviews. It absolutely did not disappoint us. We came on a Saturday and they were busy, but not crowded. The three of us sat in their large dining room, opposite the bar as you come in. Water glasses were filled and menus provided. All very professional and friendly. Nice. We started with some appetizers and I just had to try their Escargot. It had the right amount of butter and garlic and it was perfect. Always heard good things about this restaurant and finally got a chance to try it. The food was good. My husband ordered the trio meat omelette and everything was well made. I ordered the meatloaf bordelaise and it was very good. Everything about the meatloaf was good and the mushroom gravy was the best according to my hubby. My niece recently moved out to Lake Elsinore, so I went to visit her and have lunch. She chose Le Rendez-Vous, she had never been. We didn't realize the weekends were brunch only, she had seen some items on the lunch menu that she wanted to try, but they weren't serving them. We did ask if they would, the waiter said no. There was another couple that came in after us, they asked if they could have the normal menu, were told no, and they got up and left. Ambiance is blah, and the chairs were uncomfortable. It was dark in there, it almost felt like the lights weren't on and the only light was coming from the window in front. Waiter was nice, as was some other guy who checked on us a sporadically. My iced tea was refilled a few times. The menu didn't scream French to either of us, aside from crepes, which neither of us wanted. She got their Pineapple Brûlée Pancakes, it was just normal buttermilk pancakes with one piece of pineapple on top. I tried the cakes, they were kind of dry and not very sweet. The menu said it has a sweet vanilla sauce on it, neither of us picked up on that. She said the pineapple was caramelized and she liked that, but overall, she wasn't impressed. I had Ham Benedict, which is normal eggs benedict, but also has spinach. The house potatoes on the side were pretty good. Their hollandaise was one of the worst I have had, the flavor was just off, and there was barely any of it. I love a lot of sauce so I can mix it with the potatoes, but I was unable to do that. The ham was thick, but lacked flavor and I got one bite that was super tough and hard to chew. The entire dish lacked seasoning. It got the job done though, I was starving when we arrived and wasn't hungry when we left. Brunch was $50 for our two entrees, a lemonade, and an iced tea. Niece said she might come back to try the lunch items she was craving. I don't think I would come back though. read more

We been to all three of their locations: San Bernardino, Colton and now Lake Elsinore. We always have a great time and Russell really is a treat. It's always so great to meet someone who takes such pride in their work. Although we love their regular menu, holidays and special events menu are such a fun experience! Their location is right off the freeway and in the downtown where you can take a walk before or after eating. Le Rendezvous Cafe is located in the heart of Lake Elsinore's Historic Main Street District. Cute little mom n pop shops are lined up in this area. There has been ALot of improvements to this area. I got the pole (fish) and I loved it came with two great size filets mashed potato's seasoned perfectly and veggies. I loved the carrot haha. This is a brand new chapter for Le Rendezvous. One thing I know for certain, this charming historic district in Lake Elsinore is a far better place for Le Rendezvous than its previous location in Colton. If you have followed him, this location is much warmer and classier. Manny's cuisine has always been above reproach. I know. I have followed him each time he moved, three locations in two decades. The food remains excellent and consistent. He has never changed his focus on delivering quality, classic French cuisine. He also has always had a nice solid selection of more American diner foods. His menu has something for everyone, including a couple vegetarian selections, and his prices are kept quite reasonable. You will love his champagne chicken, the meatloaf, steak with bordelaise sauce, and lamb chops. These are some of my family's personal favorites, but I also cannot resist when his Soup of the Day is creamy mushroom. Deliriously wonderful! His delicious, hand breaded chicken tenders are some of the best around, and a meal in itself even though it is listed as an appetizer. And I urge you to give in to your curiosity and try his baked escargot in garlic butter. Hard to find these days, but exceptional when Manny is the chef. There is a full bar and a nice dessert menu. He brings his very loyal, competent staff with him from his prior location. Parking can be found in the front, street side, or in a big lot in the back. This little section of Lake Elsinore is a fun community with many interesting, lively festivals throughout the year, and he is right in the middle of it all with a very supportive City Council and Chamber of Commerce. My gal pal introduced me to this restaurant and I had no idea it was here- it had previously been a little Vietnamese place back in early 2000. I can see why this restaurant has been doing so well. Even my pot pie I had ordered seemed more flavorful the next day since I had to take some of it home. My only disappointment was no flambée action (the lfor the bananas foster, and the flavor was a bit bland in contrast to my past experience at other places, and to past Yelp photos/experiences from others here at this location. Our server informed us it's not something they do regularly. I was hoping to introduce my friend to banana foster, but that fell short- to no fault of anyone. Well this is supposed to be a fine dining establishment but they serve their French toast with cold butter Pattie's in wrapped containers and the syrup is in diner little square sealed containers not hot syrup on the table or small pitchers on the plate.
