Alright, it is rare that I give a one star, but this online service is not very good. I had opted to try this service, and when I looked at the list of available items, I selected a few things. However when I went back to the site and looked at all of the items, it is items that one can find at places like Macy's and Dillard's, which is fine, but that is not what I was expecting. I was expecting a better variety and not just budget items. I contacted them only a few minutes after sending my picks, and NO ONE contacted me. The box was being prepared and not shipped out yet. They were to contact me once they opened in the morning. I did not see any reply the next morning, so I sent a separate email via the site, and still no answer. I requested to talk with someone about ending my new membership due to the poor selection....that evening, after STILL not hearing from someone, I receive an email saying my box had shipped! Horrible, as I have to wait for it, and then return it...but I need a HUMAN to provide instruction on return and also to address my concerns. As you can see, communication with them is poor at best. There has been no word from them at all, which is horrible to see in terms of the many vendors available out there. I do NOT recommend them at all, and I agree with Jessica that there is NO link on their site to cancel membership. I will contact the BBB if I do not hear back. I have been a customer of Le Tote for around 7 years. They used to be a good service with occasional delays in shipping or poor inventory but all around worth the cost. Fast forward to 2023, they switched warehouses in December I believe and since then it can take anywhere from a week to over a month to receive a tote. It is impossible to get ahold of someone. I have emailed and requested a manager call me at least 4 times now and they have promised someone will call me and no one ever does. If you try phone numbers listed online it just doesn't go through. When you email they don't actually resolve your issue and then just move on as though they did. I'm basically paying to receive one tote a month with 4 items in it, which is not what they promise you. Shipping in 2-3 days is a complete lie now, though it used to be true. Whoever started making changes for this company is running it in to the ground. Do NOT sign up for this and look elsewhere for a rental company. I know I am going to start looking around. read more

I am a big fan of Le Tote and have used it for a few years, including their maternity version while I was pregnant. I especially like it because I always have something new to wear with matching accessories. Along with basics, I like it for trying new styles I don't want to commit to (like cold shoulder tops or bold prints/accessories) as well as finding outfits for events or holidays. I typically don't use it for items that are harder for me personally to find a good fit, like pants or form fitting dresses. The maternity version was expensive, but I was able to find dresses for the holidays, and wear really nice outfits that fit my growing size. I have experienced a miss or two over the course of a few years, but their customer support team always promptly took care of me and overall their clothes are consistently rotating, clean, and in great shape! read more

I very much agree with Ruth R's description. I've been using this service for nearly 2 years now and I'm addicted. The clothes is great, the customer service is mostly fast and responsive (with a few small exceptions for a delayed response), and the overall experience is excellent. I get so so many compliments on the clothes, I love the wardrobe options, I love not having to buy more clothes that I'll eventually throw away. My only complaint is the turn around time between finalizing a tote and receiving a tote. I do think this is a bit excessive. The "customize a tote" often comes quickly with the scanning of my package at the post office but the actual shipping seems to be delayed in the "label printing" effort in the Le Tote office. Ideally I would get 4 totes a month but I'm usually getting around 3... Always room for improvement :) read more

I used this service from Jan 2017-March 2019. The first year or so was good. When I started it was unlimited box swaps for $40 a month. The items were hit or miss -- but my favorite part was that if I didn't like the way the clothes fit, I could send it right back and get unlimited box swaps per month. Then, the price increased from $40-$60 per month but I still kept it for quite a while. What ultimately made me cancel was the decrease in selection. The new arrivals section on the site was never an option when I had the chance to customize my tote. Majority of options were stuff that's been available for several years or not appropriate for the time of year. It's disappointing to be in July and all you have to choose from are sweaters and jackets -- or the crappy stuff that no one wants to rent. Side note: why all the new Juicy Couture apparel? I haven't wanted to wear anything from that brand since middle school. Your target audience seems to be young professionals, and let me tell you -- they're not wearing Juicy Couture. I was annoyed that I had to call to cancel, but still better than waiting a week for a response via their slow customer service email. I'm seeing now that for new members, they increased the price even more and limited totes to 1-2 per month. The whole reason I found value in this service was being able to send it back right away if nothing fit right. Having to be stuck with the same items for the whole month if I don't like any of it sounds like a waste of $$$. Le Tote, if you're going to increase prices due to demand, at least keep adding a lot of new items to keep up with that demand. The newest items were never available so clearly there is demand. And with prices increasing I would have hoped that new clothing items would be added very frequently. But it seems instead the owners got greedy and are just increasing prices but not increasing selection by much. Countless reviews from current/past employees on Glassdoor confirm my theory that upper management is not customer focused and is instead most concerned with "lining their pockets with cash." It's a shame that such a promising business model was ruined by greed. Seems like the company also treats their employees terribly and is a hostile work environment. Love love love love Le Tote. It has been a game changer for me. I definitely think it is geared towards a certain type of person. If you don't go shopping much or are more into long-lasting pieces you'll wear forever, you may not find much value in LT. I, however, was grabbing inexpensive outfits from local boutiques or mid-range stores almost every week so that I wasn't wearing the same thing over and over. I work in an office solo, where I don't need to dress in anything fancier than a t-shirt, but I travel to meet clients where I need to be dressed in appropriate attire. Between these drastic changes, the need for weekend outfits, and the 3 sizes I dropped in the last year.. I just couldn't afford to replace my entire wardrobe. LT is awesome because if you do it right, you can get a new one every Thursday/Friday.. wear it for the weekend.. and get it shipped back out Monday morning. This is what I do if I'm not traveling. If I'm traveling, I can get an entire week of work attire to wear and bring it with me. I can even mail it back out from my hotel and don't have to bring it back home. The free shipping and the laundering is just a huge plus on top of everything else. I have so much more confidence being able to go out in a different look every time I leave the house (you know.. that new outfit feeling?). And the customer service has been beyond helpful anytime I have had an issue (which is only twice). read more

The clothes are ok, but the website is incredibly glitchy (e.g. I click on "Order History" and get sent to a page full of clothing options instead), and the customer service is pretty bad. I got a free tote in early February and returned all my items via USPS on February 16th. I suspended my account on February 20th, and got an email saying my account would be suspended until April 23rd. Regardless, I was charged $64 on March 8th. I called to ask about this, and the customer service rep told me that my items didn't arrive until after March 7th, the returns deadline. I told her that I was literally looking at the USPS tracking page, which said that my items were returned on February 22nd. She immediately turned around and offered me a refund, noting the correct delivery time (which I had not told her about, so she / the company obviously had that information available and charged me for a late return anyway). I asked for a confirmation of the refund, and the rep insisted she would send it to me ASAP and then tried to hang up. I kept her on the line for a few minutes to ensure that I received the email, but I never did. The rep hung up on me. TLDR: Good concept, awful website, unprofessional / sketchy customer service. read more

I can't un-recommend Le Tote enough. I've unfortunately used it for a while and have thrown away loads of money on it. The concept is great, but they follow through with nothing and their customer service is horrid. Here are some reasons to stay away: 1. Very limited selection. When you first create your closet, there seems to be plenty of clothes to choose from. However, you will soon see that some pieces you love are NEVER available. When I've complained to customer service about this, they dodge the question or say "Check back in a few hours." It never matters. I swear some items are shown just to tempt people but you're never able to actually get them. 2. They claim new inventory is added every other Monday, but that's a flat out lie. I've been using Le Tote maternity for the past 3 months and for at least the past -10 weeks, not one new item has been added. I check daily and zilch - nothing. When I told customer service, they just lie and say "New inventory is added every other Monday". Very frustrating. 3. They don't measure the clothes. Very often I'll select a dress that says, for example, is 35 inches long. Then when I receive it, it's 25 and my butt cheeks are hanging out. When I complain, they act like it's an error on the dress and they'll "take it out of circulation" rather than updating the actual length on their site. Not helpful. 4. You can HATE an item, rate it low, and it will always pop up in the "Wear it Again!" category when it's time to select a new tote. Their algorithm is so bad it can't tell when you hate a piece OR decided to keep it. It still tries to get me to rent items I've kept and now own. 5. It's too expensive for what you get. Clothes are not that great and so far I pay $80 a month to basically re-wear the same 4 or 5 items over and over again (aka - I can just wear what's already in my physical closet) 6. Accessories are cheap garbage. 7. Customer service pretends to be helpful but they never fix a problem and just go "Ohhh...so sorry to hear that!" Its obnoxious and tiring. I wish I could give a lower score than 1 star. I have received two Totes. Neither of the Totes had items that fit. I immediately tried to cancel. I was disappointed I could not cancel online. I sent an email. I received a response stating they were sorry I was not happy and was asked to call customer support. I threw the Tote into my closet with the plan to call after my business trip. I forgot to call. Long story short- they have been charging me $90 a month for a service I was not getting. I realize I made some missteps here, but there customer service was of no help. Of course I did not expect a refund for the year I was paying for the service, but I offered some other ideas: 1. Allow me to receive the Totes I had paid for but did not receive. (I was told no. I was paying $90 a month to rent the Tote.) 2. Allow me to keep the second Tote in exchange for the year's worth of payments. (I was told I would be charged for the items in addition to the $90 a month I had paid. Bottom line- I paid about $1200 over the year and only received 2 Totes- of which I wore none of the clothes. I am so disappointed. I used them for maternity wear during my 1st pregnancy. Fast forward, I'm currently pregnant again. I tried using them once more, but so many things have gone wrong. I would leave negative stars if possible. My last email to Le Tote: It took too long for you to get back with me. My issue was not resolved. My last message has still not been responded to. My initial complaint was not addressed. I feel like you knowingly stole my money. I have been a valuable customer for many years and because of the situation I will now be leaving you and also leaving bad reviews on your company and lack of customer service. You currently have too many subscribers and while your subscription fees are fair you do not offer enough items that are in season according to weather and you do not offer enough items in their sizes. You instead suggest winter items for Summer when people have to deal with 105° daily temperatures and then on top of that you only have sizes that are too small or way too large because you do not carry enough inventory in those sizes. You should either limit the amount of subscribers you have to your plans or you should invest in additional inventory to keep your customers happy. You could have resolved my complaints by doing what I asked which was putting my account on hold and crediting me one additional week until you got some items in stock for me but instead I got an email two days after the fact stating that you were too busy to answer my email. Then I received another email stating that you were just going to cancel my account and would not be offering any refund or credit. Shame on you for not doing what was right. read more

I'm really surprised to see all of these negative reviews. I've been using Le Tote for about 2 years now and have very rarely run into issues. The clothing isn't high fashion, but it doesn't claim to be. It's perfect for work clothes, and has some options for casual, cocktail attire, and athleisure. The brands are a lot of the lower to mid-price range that you'd find at Nordstrom - French Connection, Vince Camuto, Catherine Malandrino, BCBGeneration, Free People, J Brand, Nike, etc., and the clothes are in season. The accessories leave a bit to be desired so don't get it if you are really wanting a purse rental service. The price is fine - I pay $42/month for 2 items and 1 accessory at a time, and living on the Gulf coast, usually have enough time with turnaround and wearing the clothes that I get 3-4 totes per month. Definitely worth it and keeps me from spending money on "fast fashion" items that I would typically wear and discard after a season. It's also great because you can keep the tote as long as you like, and the seasonal variety of clothes is good. I've taken a 1.5 month trip to northern Europe when it was summer for me in Texas, so I was able to rent jackets and sweaters that I don't typically spend money on due to where I live. I rarely, if ever, end up going with the items that were "chosen" for me in my Tote. You can swap the items and have 48 hours to make changes.. I've never had my eye on an item that hasn't come available in the correct size during the 48 hour period. I think a lot of reviews seem to come from people who don't customize their tote or check the clothing dimensions/materials to ensure that they will fit properly. Customer Service has always been great every time I've reached out. I've only ever gotten 1 damaged item and 1 that was too worn, and they've thrown an extra item in every time. I even forgot once to return a shirt, and after realizing that I was charged for it, they let me throw it in my next return and refunded me. read more

I've been a LeTote subscriber since getting hooked to their maternity boxes during my pregnancy. I used to really enjoy the variety and quality, but for the past 4 or 5 months, I've had to continually put my account on hold because there is just hardly anything available. I never see my favorites, and most of what I see available is off-season, and the same week after week. Really disappointing, this used to be such a fun way to supplement my wardrobe. I recently switched back to maternity, hoping that at least the selection there would get me through this pregnancy, but the selection is just as bad, and when I do find something to add to the tote, I regularly get error messages that it's actually out of stock. Don't waste your money! I got my first le tote shipment and it was awful. Not one thing fit...and some items were so stretched out from the person before me. The sizes are all over the board too---so getting the right size will continue to be an issue. There is no option to swap out items for correct size--so you are basically stuck with what they send you for a month. The style choices were outdated and limited (which you don't know until you already sign up). The quality of the pieces were not at the level you would expect either. Save your money. I truly don't know what I would do without Le Tote because it's such a big part of my wardrobe and routine now. I love that I don't have to do as much laundry and my dry cleaning bill is almost completely non-existent. I work in a law firm, and having a seemingly endless supply of new work clothes is a godsend. I usually don't buy anything and just keep the rotation going. It appears some of their previous practices (which prompted the articles I found that initially had me willing to sign up for Le Tote) have since been stopped, and personally, I would not recommend this to anyone. Pros: I give two stars because shipping was as expected, and included shipping was nice. Cancelling my account wasn't overly difficult (although more back and forth than I would have liked). My clothes were in reasonably good shape and wearable in terms of their condition. Cons: I seriously considered one star for the general experience - I did one of the smaller totes, hoping to get some nice work clothes to wear while I'm losing some weight without buying a new "in between" wardrobe. You cannot see available choices until AFTER you have paid - if I could have seen my choices, I would have never signed up to begin with. Very little of what I was hoping for. Very limited options, very neutral clothing. There is NOTHING you can do if an item doesn't fit - you do not get any replacements, or ability to swap the piece(s) out. You end up paying for things you can't even wear. Your only "recourse" is to "review" the item. I was VERY honest about my measurements when I put them in - painfully honest as my entire goal was to have nice fitting clothes for a few months while I'm between sizes. 1 item I couldn't wear at all. 2 items I could wear, but they did not fit well. 2 items fit well and were nice. So, basically, I paid nearly $70 to wear 2 items for a few weeks. NOT good use of my money. In my cancellation they offered me a discount on a couple future totes, but with no policy on resolving fit issues, I would not recommend using this service. read more

My experience has been awful. I signed up and immediately was disappointed with the selection. When my tote arrived the clothes had a gross, unwashed odor and most of the items were ill fitting. I sent an email to cancel my account and it was instead placed on hold. I responded back that I was wanting to cancel and then received an email confirming my cancellation and instructions on shipping back my items, which I did immediately. A couple of weeks later I and get an email that my tote is ready to he shipped. I reply that my account should have been canceled and that I do not want a tote. The response I got is that they didn't hear back for me so they just put my account on hold - this is false, they did hear back and they confirmed my account had been canceled. And then I got another email saying that my account was again placed on hold today. I feel like they are intentionally not canceling accounts and this feels like fraud when I see they've done this to numerous others. read more

The clothes don't fit, they don't replace or exchange for size, when you decide to cancel because it is not for you, they ask you to send it back immediately even though you paid for the whole month. I was excited to try Le Tote for maternity clothes and ordered my first box for April. It was fine - six of the eight items fit, they were clean, etc.so I had no complaints. For May, I started to customize my tote and realized only 13 of the 55 items I "favorited" were available. I mainly need maternity clothes for work and special events, but all 13 of the items that were available were the most casual things I had chosen. I emailed customer service and was simply told "check back every few hours, things may become available." I found that a little insulting - I work full-time and I'm only pregnant for so many days - I'm not going to log in every few hours and hope a shirt becomes available. I emailed back to explain this and got a scripted response. I called to speak to someone and was so disappointed - their customer service reps are totally call center robots ("I'm so sorry to hear that, I will give that feedback to the manager, etc."). Ask for a supervisor and you get another robotic voice on the phone, working off the same script. After I canceled my subscription, I received an email asking me to resubscribe. I called again to see if I could get a real person with real human feelings and emotions on the phone - nope. I got two more call center robots who are clearly reading off scripts. I wanted to speak to someone so badly I literally reached out to an employee just now via LINKEDIN. Anyway - I just came across Yelp and read the rest of these reviews. It's clear that this is a lost cause and the maternity items I want are never going to be available. I used to be with Stitch Fix because I loved having all the newest styles but I was tired of the high prices (always MSRP!). A coworker told me about Le Tote and sent me a free tote to try it out. I LOVE IT! I love that I can try out new fades (cold shoulder? Not my thing but go to "test drive" a shirt just in case I changed my mind) and I can pick from their available inventory - they don't pick for me (but they can if you like the surprise element). I had been a letote customer for almost two years and had started to feel unsatisfied a few months ago due to being charged for items I didnt purchase, lack of selection, false advertising, and eventually shipments that were never sent. Each instance the interaction with customer service got worse and worse. They were unconcerned with fixing any issues and offered a $10 store credit when there was some sort of shipping error and suggested that I make sure my address was updated (I hadn't changed it). When they put me through on the phone after being on hold the representative couldn't wait to cancel my membership. The service had been going down hill for a couple of months with new issues all the time. This company is a rip off. To begin, I opened my first tote to find the purse, earrings, jeans and tee shirt to appear in all fine condition. When I took the purse out, the handle came off the purse, great they sent me a broken purse. Next the black Calvin klein t shirt, ripped in the armpit. The back to the earrings were bent. And the black jeans I ordered had a rip in the knee, and the lining on the waste was clearly over worn. I cancelled the account, or so I had thought. Months later, I realize I had been getting charged. So I emailed and asked for a full refund. They agreed to only a partial refund and explained that the tote was worth $150+. I had been a Le Tote consumer for two years and over the last few months I am not satisfied. The same pieces are being recycled through my available favorites, even though I am consistently updating my catalog with the new inventory, so my options have been slim to none. The turnaround time has decreased significantly! I used to receive my customize tote and preparing notification on the same day within 12-24 hours of dropping the previous items off the prior day. Then usually I would receive the tracking notification within 12-24 hours, with an expected 2-3-day delivery. The last few months the tote has taken an upward of 24-36 hours to receive any sort of notification that the items are ready for review and so on and so forth, causing as pause in wardrobe for about a week and a half. Last Le-Tote cycle TOTALING 9-DAYS: 08/26 USPS Drop-off - 08/28 Customize notification - 08/29 Preparing- 08/30 In Transit - 09/03 - Delivered The details of my subscription was that I am allowed to receive 2-totes per month, however with the delay the users only get an estimated total of 12-days to receive, wear and ship back both totes in one month. read more

I'm sure this is my fault, but I did not realize that Le Tote would not exchange a damaged item or sizes that didn't work. Instead, you hold onto the item until the next month. So I paid $90, received 8 items, and only 2 were wearable. I could see them not exchanging clothes that don't fit (user error?), but they sent me a damaged skirt and refused to exchange it. I have been a subscriber for a year. Recently I noticed that I had been billed $10 more in June and July than what my subscription costs reflected in my billing history for those months (and I included screenshots to prove it. What billing history showed was I had a $59 subscription fee, $5 insurance plus $6.66 tax, which totals $70.66, Le Tote billed $80.66 to my credit card) When I reached out to Le Tote customer service, I was told that they had raised prices which was not reflected in the line item detail of my billing statements. A company cannot show you a billing amount of one price and then charge you another - that is fraud. I originally did Le Tote last year. It was a decent service, but the clothes were a little hit or miss as far as quality. I had some pieces that I loved and bought for cheap, but again, you're paying to buy previously worn clothing. After a few months, I decided that it wasn't really worth the cost. I tried to cancel my subscription but only found "going on hold" for an option and then I'd have to remember to sign in and cancel the tote when it would automatically resend. I finally called customer service and they said they could set it for a 6 month break. Ugh! Just cancel it! So flash forward 6 months, and now somehow all of my le tote emails are sent to spam and there's a package at my door. A package I didn't want, didn't order, and didn't look at prior to shipping. And for this inconvenience, I get to pay the charge of 70$. I'm so beyond annoyed. The clothing quality is definitely worse this year vs last. The clothes are much more worn and the selection is not great. I just want to to cancel my subscription but I feel like I'm just talking to a wall. Not a break. Not six months. Delete my card. I don't want to keep feeling like this is hanging over my head. read more

Do not use this company! So many issues. They advertise certain clothing items then they are not available to add to your closet. They had my measurements yet still sent me items that were two sizes to small. When I asked for a refund they declined. They also increased the membership from $39 to $59 with only 20 days notice and only via email. I tried to cancel and they said I have a tote on the way to me so once I receive it and send it back I can cancel. Oh and they also said if they don't receive it in 5 days, I will be charged the full price of the tote. Very shady company, stay away! read more

So I've been using this service for at least two years and have had issues with slow shipping or service, quality on rare occasions and one missing delivery. I don't buy their items because I'm not in the habit of paying retail prices for used clothing. I love being able to try on things and get a great idea of what works together in the privacy of my own home, discovering new brands and then shopping online using the information I have. My current issue is beyond the pale. You know how they claim items are cleaned and sanitized and go for multiple quality checks between customers? They don't. They sent me a purse with the previous user's Halloween mouthpiece and lipgloss in the outside pocket. I reached out and they claimed surprise and would have a quality assurance leader get back to me. Also had the gall to offer me an extended week before billing so I'd have a free week essentially. An extra week of unchecked, unclean and unsanitized items? Hmmm... give a girl a second to ponder. That would be a no. Still waiting for resolution. All they need to do is contact the previous user and ask if they'd like their missing mouthpiece and lipgloss back. Debating how far to take this. Manager never called. Just finishing out my time and steam everything before wearing it. Suggest you guys do the same. read more
