I brought a tire from my car that was flat due to striking a curb. I dropped it off and asked if they could check it and possibly save the tire. Unfortunately, it wasn't so they said they could get a replacement, probably by tomorrow. I called some other places to get a quote and when it could done. They all weren't certain so I decided to go with Leading Edge. I brought my car to the shop thinking I'd just drop it off and wait until the next day to get it back. When I walked in I noticed the rim of my car with a new tire wrapped around it. I pointed and asked Andrew, "Is that my tire?" Indeed it was. As I was paying for the service, Andrew asked the car was outside. He took my key fob and said, "let me check something. We're going to put it on now" Unbelievable, here I thought I'd have to wait another day but Leading Edge came through. So grateful for that. Thank You!! read more

There's far too many good things to say about this reputable service to put into a Yelp review. We have "oldies but goodies" cars. They range from a 14 yr old S 550 to an 18 yr old 911, and they both run great so we are really particular about where we take them. Couldn't afford to replace them! Covid caused us to put off car maintenance and repair, until we got a flat tire so bad it exploded. Geico could not get us a tow or change for over 6 hours because they kept cancelling on them. The local police had their tow guy come out, and towed it to where we could get a new tire. The spare would not drop down because the spindle was bent. We then took it to Leading Edge and got quite a lot of other work done we had postponed doing. He fixed the spindle, rotated the tires, checked them thoroughly, and recommended a few definitely necessary things to be done on the minivan. The Bill was expensive, but the work was done really, REALLY well. It's a family run business and I wholeheartedly recommend them! I usually bring my own oil and filter went there for a oil change. They charge me $22 for labor. I did 4 or 5 times. Recently I found they steal my oil. I bring 4 bottles mobile 1 oil. They add 3. Then they keep the rest. Totally no make sense. What kind of cheap people does that. Also trying charge me $49 only for labor for change a head light bulb. $49 each. I was wondering they really need to make money so they did that. Be wary this place. Update 8/22/2019 I got highlight bulb replaced at Cassidy for free. They replaced in 2 minutes. Update 2/13/30 for your answer. 12 Suzuki. I always bring 5 bottles 1 quart oil. I check the oil dipstick after oil change it's clearly show oil not full. So I pay more attention for the next car. 10 Nissan. I was talk to mechanic immediately after he done the oil change. Asking show me oil dipstick. Again It's clearly show oil not full. But he keep half of bottle oil left. Even just half of 1 quart bottle mobile 1 oil. Maybe just cost $3-4 bucks. They want it. That why I was so pissed off. If you think $22 just for labor not enough that fine. Please let me know but don't steal my oil. No enough oil in engine could cause other problems. You are not respect your job. The owners are very honest, they're not looking to rip you off or up charge you. When you drop off your car, they'll fully diagnose your car problem, go through what needs to be fixed with you, and maybe future problems to keep an eye on. Older car developed a strange sound underneath, towards the rear of the vehicle. We usually get basic oil and tire maintenance at a different shop, but we knew they couldn't deal with a loose muffler or extension pipe. Called ahead to Leading Edge, because covid, and they were busy, but thought maybe I could come in for a bit and they would look, but I might need to come back another day for the actual repair. They had a lift free, popped my old car up, and found a loose heat shield; the metal around the bolt holding the shield in place had eroded away. They could have offered a fix that required an entirely new set of part$$$, but they came up with a solution on the spot, that was fixed quickly and so affordably, that I had to write this review. Family-owned and family-run. While inside the shop, I noticed the floor was clean, they were rebuilding the engine of a minivan, and had a couple other cars up in the air - busy, but still made time to check out my problem, and the owner fixed it on the spot. Very helpful. I went there because my rear wiper on my Honda was not properly functioning. In less than 5 minutes, he analyzed the problem and told me the wiper motor needed replacing. I called the next day to get prices, his son was very helpful and gave me several different options and estimates for motors. Needless to say, wiper motors ain't cheap, so I told him that I would wait until it completely died, then replace it. All in all, they are very professional and courteous mechanics. read more

We have relied on Leading Edge to service our cars for more many years. This includes our 1966 Mustang convertible which recently developed an unusual collection of noises under the hood. It can be difficult to find an experienced mechanic to work on these older cars, but Tony has proven himself to be the master of odd noises. He tracked down and replaced the harmonic balancer, a replacement radio, and a leaking exhaust manifold gasket for us, all at a very reasonable cost. The old rag-top has never sounded better! Just last week, they saved me from spending over $700 on unnecessary repairs. I had taken my 11-year-old Toyota to a different local franchise for an estimate because I thought Leading Edge didn't do mufflers (turned out I was wrong). That place said it was my manifold--estimated parts & labor costs over $900, with a $50 deposit on the part the guy would order. I went home & called Leading Edge for advice. They told me to bring the car in next day & they fixed the problem completely for under $200! I'm a retired person on a budget, & they saved me from an overwhelming & unnecessary expense. I first went to Leading Edge over 15 years ago and have spent more than $20,000 there over the years. The very first visit was for a problem with the car dying out. Tony said he thought it was an electrical issue and they tried to track down the problem for 5 hours and found nothing wrong and the car seemed to have no problem. So the issue was inadvertently fixed somehow by them checking it out. I was very surprised that there was no charge for the 5 hours and I thought wow these guys are really honest! 15 plus years later,and sending my sons,daughters,mother, neighbors, and others to Tony and son. Man was I wrong!!!!! Recently brought a 2002 ford there for one of my sons for a trans mount, check A/C unit and a general inspection. This car is one owner,very good condition with 64,000 miles on it. They told me it needed 4 tires, thermostat, some electronic module for the A/C unit that was a dealer only item ($415 for the A/C module alone). It really only needed 2 tires but I figured get all 4 for the safety of my son. As for the A/C module, $415 was too much so I got tires and thermostat. They called me during the job and said the thermostat housing was cracked and it will be an extra $64. When I picked the car up they told me the service engine soon light came on and they ran the code but could not figure out what it was so they just cleared it. Ok, the warning light was never on before. The car was not leeking coolant or running hot so why would it need a thermostat and if the housing was cracked they must have cracked it, they dont just crack with 64000 miles for no reason. When I drove the car away it had a teeth chattering vibration that it never had and within 15 minutes the (service engine soon) light came on! The car ran smooth and never a warning light before. I took the car to a service station in Wood Dale that a friend told me about and they replaced the pcv valve, a vent hose, mass air flow sensor, and clean and check A/C system for $235. Everything was fixed including the A/C that Leading Edge wanted $415 to fix!!! Did'nt even need that expensive module!!! Wonder if it even exists!!! No more engine light! No more vibration! and the A/C is ice cold and works GREAT!!! DONT TRUST LEADING EDGE!!! I wonder how much they screwed me and my people out of over the years!!! Tony and Son put on a great act!!!
