The street style pizzetta is a good deal at only $5 for a small, personal sized cheese pizza. It can be eaten cold or hot. Cold, it's like a nicer Lunchable. I preferred it hot. It's small for a dinner portion but a good deal. The cheese was flavorful with sharp parmesan, but the crust was just okay. It wasn't more outstanding than a frozen pizza crust. The rolls were the star! They were doughy and delicious. The friendly woman who gave me my order let me know that to hear up the cold pizzetta, you put it in the oven at 350° until it's golden. She also let me know the dinner rolls are baked fresh in the morning. This is an interesting, albeit confusing at first, food pickup location. He seemed to really like it too, which is always a bit of a coin toss. It's not easy to find a place that works for families, dock workers, and hipsters alike, but this place totally nails it. I tried the cheesesteak, which was a blast from the past. I haven't had a real Philly cheesesteak in a minute and this one had was packed with tender meat and melty cheese that reminded me of the real deal. I honestly didn't expect to find this kind of thing at the food hub, which seems more geared toward a trendy crowd. It wasn't fancy, but you can't beat the price and the food is actually good. I learned that over 750+ book entries were received! Wow! At my table, I ended up meeting a librarian, a teacher and a publisher. The librarian was part of the selection committee and she suggested so many good books! She mentioned a book about octopus conversation in the atolls and my ears perked up. The book is Mountain in the Sea by Ray Nayler and its on my shortlist to read soon! Waiting for it on Libby! OK. back to the venue. We had the side part of the bar and everything was outside so that was nice. Service was great and Zach did a great job getting everyone's orders. I started off with a special edition One Book, One Brew beer, brewed in the Kolsch style and limited edition beer by Chula Vista Brewery. Nice, crisp and summery beer!
