Loved this place! We went on a Saturday and it was not crowded at all. They had lots of good options for breakfast but the chorizo breakfast skillet with avocado added was amazing! Also tried the hot chocolate and it was topped with a ton of whipped cream. Very good service and vibes.
I will say that this location has amazing customer service, and I like that they have a seating on the inside and outside. So there is more than enough room in case you come with a big party of people. For the food, it wasn't my favorite. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and it wasn't that good, it lacked a lot of flavor and tasted oily. My friends did enjoy their food. They had the French toast, and other breakfast items. I will say that this place has a good variety of choices when you want to eat. But the margarita was good, and my friends enjoyed their caramel Frappuccino or their caramel coffees which everything looks good, but the taste isn't as good. I recommend this spot to people, who want good drinks and good coffee.
I didn't know there were two locations. This Maggie's is much newer than the Serra Mesa one. It is right nextdoor to a well known Mexican restaurant that just relocated. This space is much larger and more open than the other Maggie's. We went for breakfast and it was great! Service was friendly and prompt. The food was great. The chef even came out to say hello. Free parking nearby.
This place was busy this week! I went with friends for lunch thinking it'd be chill. Nope! It was very much alive. The world cup was on all tvs and fans were cheering loudly. It's definitely a fun place to watch spots and enjoy some food. We sat outside and had a very nice breeze. Our server was really attentive and nice. Food was pretty good. We all ordered breakfast. I tried chilaquiles. Not bad. I'd order from the happy hour menu next time and try carne asada fries. It's cool hh starts at lunch. Great way to draw the crowd in! I like the location because it's near work and across the street from Mercado. Parking was challenging but usually it's not difficult.
If you ever need a simple and comforting breakfast spot, my partner and I always keep Maggie's in mind. There's something pretty welcoming about the place. The staff greets you the moment you walk in, and it sets the tone for an easy, chill meal. The breakfast menu isn't trying to reinvent anything, but that's exactly why we love it. I always go for the strawberries and bananas French toast. The fruit tastes fresh, the cream is sweet, and they make the kind of classic, cozy breakfast that can't go wrong. The toast, eggs, potatoes, and bacon are cooked pretty simple. I also recommend the strawberry-banana smoothie. It's creamy, not overly sweet, and it feels like the perfect little treat to finish up breakfast. It's nothing crazy but the kind of spot that doesn't need to be flashy. It's just consistently good, friendly, and comforting.
Absolutely fabulous!! A little out of the way but so worth the ride over! Don't miss this place for breakfast. Food, service, staff, and atmosphere was outstanding. This is one of the breakfast places I've had. Tex is for breakfast is great.

I needed breakfast and chose Maggie's Cafe and I was definitely happy I did so. I started with a cup of Cafe de Olla and my mug was kept fresh constantly which was highly appreciated. I then chose the Tex Mex Omelette w/ potatoes and a side of beans. I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty this omelette was. The potatoes were perfectly seasoned. The beans added a very nice dimension to this overall breakfast experience and I will definitely be back for more!
Nice restaurant and bar in the Barrio across the street from Northgate Market. We were there at a the lunch hour, but they also had breakfast available which is what we had--stuffed French Toast with eggs and bacon sausage , and a chili relleno omelet withe beans and rice. Good size helpings and delicious. Especially the beans and rice. It's a nice airy place. They have lots of drinks and a big bar if you are looking for that.
Friday brunch with some friends, Maggie's has good drinks and a huge menu for food. Our server was very attentive and kind enough ti keep our checks separate without trouble. I love coming here to eat.
A big and spacious Mexican restaurant with delicious food with huge portions, friendly service, and a warm atmosphere. I stopped by with a group of friends for lunch this past weekend and we had an excellent meal here. Service was friendly and accommodating with our orders. All the TVs on the walls were showing the latest sports which we all enjoyed watching while eating our food and enjoying our drinks. The chips with guac and salsa we got were wonderful with the chips being freshly fried and the gauc was so fresh. The salsa had a great kick of heat to it. I ordered the Chile Relleno Omelette and it was delicious. The rice and beans on the side were good and the chile relleno inside the omelette was oozing with cheese and the chile itself was spicy! The portion size was well worth the price and the dish overall was flavorful. If you need a good breakfast/lunch spot and are in the mood for some Mexican food, come check out this spot!
Stopped by here after a weekdaydaily mass, and was able to sit right away. Overall place was very clean and tidy. The menu was pretty easy to pick from, and had good options. The meals themselves were good and served at a good price. The coffee refills were also easy to get as well. The wait staff was very friendly and had no problem with slight modifications for our orders. Parking outside was easy since there's a lot of open spots shared with the other businesses. Overall, recommend for checking out while you're in San Diego. It's got a lovely charm to it, and is one of the best parts of Barrio Logan. Will plan on returning.
First time here. Staff friendly. Food delicious. Great decor. Right next to Chicano Park. Loved it! Will be back next time we are in San Diego.

From the moment I sat down, the service stood out. Gaby was incredibly charming, polished, and attentive throughout the meal. She made sure my Corona Non-Alcoholic beer arrived right on time every time, and her warm energy added a lot to the overall experience. The skillet is, without question, one of the most skillfully executed brunch dishes I've had in San Diego. Every component felt thoughtfully prepared and well balanced. The potatoes were flavorful and satisfying, the shrimp were large and succulent, and the eggs over easy were cooked perfectly, adding richness to each bite. The combination of cheese, vegetables, and chipotle hollandaise brought everything together with bold flavor without overwhelming the dish. Beyond the food, the restaurant is clean, spacious, and welcoming. It works equally well for a family brunch, a relaxed meal with friends, or even catching a game. The food is really good, my tortilla soup was just what I needed and so was my Paloma. We didn't get greeted till 8 min after we sat down, we had to get someone's attention, but they were friendly and attentive afterwards. The place is spacious with parking out front, it's a cute Mexican restaurant. read more

First time going here. Went around 10am and got sat down right away. The service was amazing, David our server was super funny and helpful in terms of helping us decide on food options. The ambiance was great I loved it. The food was amazing everything tasted authentic and it really hit the spot. Their mimosas are also really good, he made them with strength lol read more
Came here after Chicano Park Day again. Only had about 10 minute wait and was seated outside. We ordered the Milanesa and Carnitas torta and the Strawberry Salad. Food came out fairly quickly. Wife and I shared both plates and it was plenty. A little discouraged that they didnt cut off the gristle part of steak in milanesa. Torta came with all the fixings and the bread was very good. Lots of strawberries in the salad and all the other stuff made it a refreshing meal after a day out and about. I also quenched the day off with a dos xx clara. I enjoy this restaurant because its on our walk back to the trolley. read more
Cute and homey cafe that's located in a busy shopping center. Great place to go for breakfast / brunch. Reasonable prices for good size portions. Food was fresh and not greasy. Service was fast and excellent considering how busy it was! Can't wait to come back and try more items from the menu. read more

Visited 7/15/2024 Well I've had my eye on Maggie's Cafe for a long time now. Was told by many friends that this place served up some great food so today was my time to check it out. One of the top dishes on the menu is The Chile Relleno Omelet. I just had to have it. I wasn't disappointed. Comes with 3 cage free eggs in a omelet stuffed with a nice fat Chile Relleno. Maggie's Homemade Potatos, Refried Beans, and choice of Toast. I asked for a Pancake instead of toast and sure glad I did. It was a perfectly cooked pancake and nice sized. I also ordered a side of the hand made breakfast sausage. Very Tasty Sausage. All the food was delicious and perfectly cooked also nicely presented. This was a nice place for a nice breakfast. Service was friendly and efficient. Lots of seating inside and a nice outside patio with plenty of extra seating. Prices were average for San Diego so no surprise there. Just letting you know If You Check In On Yelp you'll get 10 percent off your bill. That's what I did. It was cool even the chef brought out my order and asked if there was anything else he could do for me. Now that's good service. There is plunty of free parking that's always a plus. First off this place is a gem friendly waiters, good vibes, and delicious food. One question though, what makes biscuit and gravy such a great dish? The gravy and Maggie's gravy is the real deal. This is a simple dish which many places settle on a mediocre gravy but not Maggie so thank you for holding them biscuits down with that gravy. Maggie's potatoes, solid a nice rendition of some home style potatoes. I have gone this far so I won't leave it out the egg it was cooked properly per my request paired well like it does with all breakfast lunch and dinner items. Eating out is fun when you have a dog. Cako loves coming to Maggie's because the staff is really nice! Diana took great care and gave us a doggie menu which I don't know if it's new. One of my goals is to eat something different each time I'm here. This visit I ordered the Torta Cubana; Milanesa, Chicken, Ham, Chorizo, Egg, Cheddar Cheese and Pepper Jack Cheese...this torta was sooooooooo good! She asked which sides I wanted, and for $1.99, I got half fries and half onion rings. Daveed ordered the tender steak and eggs. I ordered the bacon and eggs ($6.99) for Cako, which she loved! Trying to cut back on my sugar intake, the bartender made me a tequila, lime juice, and seltzer which was perfect! Sort of like a tequila soda...LOL! It was a cool evening on the patio, and Logan was pretty lively. Always great coming here! Cako Approves Again!!! read more
Cute corner spot in a busy outdoor shopping center. Brunch time was packed but the flow moved well. Service was fast but not too fast. The restaurant is mid size and served a combination of large and small parties. The patio caught my attention, decorated nicely and had a tucked away but scene feel, lots of plants...pretty. Love the coffee cups! Each cup is made out of clay and I believe the cups are also sold if you're interested. As for me, I ordered their Mexican coffee. My server did warn me that this was more of a traditional Mexican coffee which was pre-sweetened. And yes, it was so sweet I felt a my dentist call me for my annual check up. I recommend half regular coffee or just regular coffee. I chose a chile verde omelette which comes with carne asada. I substitute my bread for French toast (delicious). The food was served fresh but sadly was missing layers of flavor and was a bit overcooked for my taste. I will definitely come back to try the house recommendations and favorites. First time visiting Maggie's for breakfast on a weekend. The space is large with plenty of indoor and outdoor tables. The service was good our waiter immediately took our order and offered suggestions. The food: ok. Lrge portions. I ordered the red chilaquiles , the red salsa was peculiar, definitely not your "average" chilaquiles sauce. I asked and they mentioned it was made with fresh chipotle peppers. Nonetheless it tasted like las palmas enchilada sauce to me. The tortillas were smothered in it, so no way around it. They went heavy on the sauce too, so again no way around it. They have a large menu with something for everyone which is great! I look forward to trying something new next time! read more
We went to grab some food after my gf got back into town and off of work. The timing was perfect for happy hour. We got some drinks and got some happy hour food. The sliders and wings were okay and I remembered that some of the food is just that okay. The sliders and burger were good as well and cooked perfectly to temp. It's one of my spots so I will be back. read more

Great place for breakfast and lunch (I have yet to check it out in the evening). The servers are always genuinely hospitable when I visit. There are 9 large TVs throughout the restaurant, and plenty of patio seating. The location is very accessible being close to the freeway, bus routes and trolley. read more
