We called Leak Hounds to schedule someone to come to my mother's house to look for a potential leak, as her water bills seemed much higher than they should have been. We first talked to Monica, who schedules the appointments. She was terrific. She first gave us some great suggestions for us to try on our own to see if we could resolve the issue to our satisfaction without a visit from them. We still ended up requiring a visit. I've used this group before when it was Elite Leak Detection and they were nothing short of amazing. So when I needed them again and they had changed name I was reticent to call because while change can be good , lately, in many cases it has been worse for the consumer. We had this company come to detect a leak for us. They said it was one problem (the toilet's wax ring needed to be replaced). The leak continued, but luckily we had construction done on the same bathroom and they found that the actual problem was a broken pipe. We contacted them about it since the work that was done didn't fix the problem (sent pictures of the broken pipe) and they said there was nothing they could do because the broken pipe was a "secondary problem" regardless of the fact that the problem still persisted after they said they "fixed" the problem the first time. There was no accountability for their error. Won't be using them again UPDATE: if you actually look at the reviews I have posted you can see I have written good ones, okay ones, as well as bad ones. You state that you want to be professional but that comment about past ratings was not. If I feel a company deserves a bad review I'll write it so that I can notify people about my bad experience so that they can make an educated decision. As I told you over the phone we were not shown the impacts of the toilet flushing, which was probably our fault for taking the workers at their word. We know nothing about plumbing, so we hope that the people we are working with are honest with us. Our contractors that we hired had nothing to gain about telling us that you led us astray, which your initial diagnosis, which is why we're going with what they said. I needed a definitive answer as to weather I had a water leak under my slab. Leak Hounds ran an air pressure test of one of my sprinkler lines, and of all the water supply lines in my entire house. No leaks were found, so it is safe to say the water is coming from the outside world. My home sits 12" below street level, so I rely on a sump pump to remove rainwater so my house will not flood. After the heavy rains in January, even with the sump pump, water managed to creep in and get to the slab. I will have sealant applied around the entire perimeter of the house, which should prevent any further water intrusion. We had a wonderful experience with Elite Leak Detection. We noticed a sudden increase of our water usage since July this year. The usage amounted to on the average of 30 ccf per month while our normal usage would not be more than 6 or 7 ccf. Adding to that puzzle was the usage was continuously high even when we were gone for most part of September with the main valve being shut off during our absence. As we were not able to identify the source of the leak ourselves, we turned to Elite Leak Detection to find out what happened. Monica was very helpful to schedule Cory over the next morning. Cory did a very thorough job in checking the leak and, at that time, he could not identify the souce of the leak, but he instructed us to take a reading after we turn the main valve off at night and took another reading before we turned the the water on the next day morning. What amazed us was there was a 1ccf water consumption overnight even with main valve being shut off. We reported this finding to Elite Leak Detection immediately. Brent came the next day morning. After further investigation, he found that the irrigation valves were still fed while the water to the home is turned off overnight. The sprinkler control appeared to be malfunctioning and one sprinkler head was broken. Brent unplugged the control and told us to check the meter reading after the main valve was turned off at night and before the water main valve was to turn on the next day morning. We were so pleased to find that the the two readings were near identical and we repeated the practice next day and found the same result. The mystry of water leak was finally resolved. Had Elite Leak Detection not being so responsible in investigating the the leak, it could be a long time before we identify the root cause of the problem. To sum it up: We had a great experience with Elite Leak Detection! Their thorough and methodical approach clearly made a big difference in resolving the issue. It's impressive how they stayed persistent in finding the root cause of the leak, especially with the complexity of the irrigation system still feeding water even when the main valve was shut off. Their professionalism and attention to detail, from Monica's quick scheduling to Cory and Brent's investigative efforts, clearly stood out. It's wonderful that the issue was resolved and we were able to avoid ongoing water waste. After contacting Monica in the main office, she scheduled Cory and Jerod to come to our house the next morning. Called them for an inside the wall leak in a 3 or 4 inch vertical pipe in my redondo beach rental. I was out of town, he quoted over $900 this was plumbing repair and $275 to analyze the problem. No drywall repairs included. I had the same repair done about a year later in a different property on the next block, this time I was present and a different plumber charged $250 for analysis and repair. Graham did discover a secondary leak and charged an additional fee for that repair, but that is outside of the scope performed by the second plumber. We moved into a house mid-September and are now owners of our first pool. Our pool maintenance man noted to me that he thought the water was evaporating rather quickly from the pool and I needed to keep the water at a certain level. We had a leak that was not in the walls. They came out, used their equipment found the leak, and implemented a good solution which did not involve demoing my kitchen. They were supremely professional, courteous and respectful. Minimized any wall damage to a large extent. They even repaired a prior-leak repair done by another plumber and fixed it properly. I would definitely hire these guys again for difficult leaks. Why not 5 stars? They are expensive. The inspection fee began at $350/hour, then $225 after the first hour. They don't bargain. They don't take credit cards (or they'll charge you their 3% merch transaction fee). They also never sent me their licensing and bonding information after repeated requests. They don't provide written quotes or any paperwork to start the job. Only after you've paid will they provide such paper. This is dancing along the line of many laws in CA and they need to correct this before they run into unfortunate legal entanglements or licensing suspensions for malcompliance. But they did good work for me and work that was better than prior plumbers which I've hired. They also didn't seem like they were BS-ing me on the issues. read more

We had a mystery leak in our front yard landscaping between the curb and the house. Much of the plumbing would be under the driveway and sidewalks, etc so the location of the actual leak was difficult to detect. I had called several plumbing companies to get an estimate and got some pretty wild numbers ranging from several thousand up to $12K. Finally I decided to call Elite Leak Detection, and Frank came out and located the leak within 20 minutes which fortunately was near the house intake pipe. Frank was able to fix it immediately for what I consider a fair price, and I'm happy and relieved it's done. Good job!
