Timo was great to work with. He found the circumference where the leak was located. He was very knowledgeable about plumbing repairs. More drywall was opened than planned but nonetheless the leak was located. Canyon Plumbing, who Timo is also a part of, completed the job to our satisfaction. However, Timo's helpers were a bit lackluster by taking personal calls on their cellphones while at jobsite and not being careful when placing equipment on our washer. We all hate water leaks, especially those in hard to find places like in slabs or in the wall. Unfortunately any house with indoor plumbing will run into that problem someday. We had a leak in the wall and needed help on a weekend. Called Timo on a Saturday and he scheduled to come by on a Sunday. Thank goodness as walking over to the community pool restroom to brush your teeth and all the rest because your water is turned off at the curb is limited fun. Not being a big leak it was harder to find as apparently the sound of the rushing water is one way Timo finds the leak. Timo worked diligently on Sunday and Monday chasing the source of the water, removing small sections of the drywall as he tried to identify the exact source. Finally later on Monday he felt he had the answer and replaced a section of pipe and left us with dehumidifiers and fans drying out the areas that had water intrusion. On Friday he returned to pick up the fans and dehumidifiers only to find that the replaced pipe was either not the original leak or at least not the only pipe leaking. So again Timo and crew went to work removing a bit more drywall (but leaving cabinets installed) until they found what was likely the main source of the leak. Quickly fixing that, they again set up the fans and dehumidifiers for the next 3 days and, voila, that time the driers worked and no new water was found. Timo recommends others for the drywall repair and renovation necessary, and I have reviewed them separately, but I do want to say that I think Timo did a wonderful job finding the leak(s) by removing a minimum of drywall and carpeting. I have had other leaks on other properties before and remember clearly the near total deconstruction of the house to find and repair the leak. In Timo's case the drywall repair was minimal with no cabinets being removed and only a few 2 x 3 foot sections of drywall being removed. That quality of work is huge when you are at the renovation stage and need to get reconstruction done after your leak is found and repaired. I am happy to recommend Timo and his folks at Leak Star for your leak detection and repair needs. read more

Timo at Canyon plumbing has done several jobs at our home in Carlsbad. Gutted our master bath. Relocated shower, sinks, toilet and installed a new spa type bath tub. Late last Friday, my downstairs neighbor informed me that my water heater was leaking. Saturday morning I did some searching and found Timo. And thank goodness I did! I think poor Timo thought it was just a water heater replacement, because what did I know about water damage, mold and the dissolution of a concrete pad? Thankfully the water heater is out on the balcony in a small closet, otherwise the damage to my unit and my neighbor's would have been much more extensive. As it was, Timo had to help tear out the damaged drywall for both my unit and the neighbors, then brought in equipment to dry out the closet. And then, because he's just a good guy, he found a drywall installer for me (even though that was not his job). And THEN, because the concrete pad literally had turned to sand because of the leak, he mixed and poured a new pad for me. Remember, he's supposed to do plumbing, not construction! But, Timo did it all with professionalism, kindness and as quickly as he could. I had an undetected slab leak in my guest room and the water damage was fairly extensive. I found Leak Star on Yelp who had an excellent customer rating. Timo came out the next day and throughly explained to me what mitigation work would entail. He then went to work and found the source of the leak. Within the course of the next few days, he took care of everything, including removal (drywall, baseboard, baseboard, flooring, carpet, cabinet, sink), drying (using several dehumidifiers), and repiping/rerouting. Although repiping/rerouting was not covered by my insurance, Timo explained to me the Pros/Cons and I decided to do it to eliminate any anxiety of this happening again. What impressed me the most about Timo was his professional demeanor and work ethic. He showed up at 8AM every morning and worked til 5PM (or later on some days). He is also honest and friendly too. After another plumbing outfit recently replaced the failed water supply line between the meter and our house, we thought our leak problems were over. Unfortunately, we continued to see evidence of continued leakage in the garage and called Leak Star. We were immediately impressed by our call actually being answered by Timo, instead of a recorded message. After a brief explanation of our problem, Timo scheduled a time for him to come over and investigate the leak source the following morning. He was completely upfront with the pricing for that service and we were next impressed by the fact that he both texted and called to let us know he would be over later than scheduled due to an emergency job ahead of our appointment. Once he arrived, Timo and his assistant began a thorough and meticulous investigation of our plumbing system throughout the house, using the latest available leak detection equipment. Rather than jumping to any immediate conclusions, they spent over an hour with their investigation before determining the most probable location of the source and how to mitigate the problem. We were told upfront what the cost would be and scheduled repairs for the following morning. They arrived punctually at 8:00 am and by noon, the problem was resolved! I had a slow drip leak that had probably been there for a bit of time, and called Leak Star on a Friday afternoon (because most emergencies happen on Friday afternoons ;) ). Unfortunately, he was out of town. Despite this, he returned my call and walked me through my problem, and agreed to come out on Monday. This was quicker than any other company I contacted for an estimate. Not only was there a leak, but surrounding mold. They got right to work, cleaned up extremely well, and Timo answered any and all questions I had.
