First visit to see Dr. Good he was very personable he spoke about graduating from UC Santa Bárbara in California. My hygienist was very kind and gentle too. Was just here for a 6 month check up and got a clean bill of health NO cavities! Yay me! My son also saw Dr. Good he was caring and gentle with him too glad to hear NO cavities for him as well. Already have a 6 month check up scheduled. Front office staff was nice too. Tip: fill out paperwork online to prevent having to fill out paperwork in office it automatically goes to them electronically. My family of 4 all came to this office at least once within the last year. It's under construction currently and probably going to be beautiful when it's complete. The staff was always very nice. I mean that, very nice ladies. But I finally got fed up. We started feeling like we were coming to an appointment, about an appointment, about an appointment...... My final straw was when they kindly squeezed my 6 year old son in for what they called an "emergency appointment" since his tooth was hurting. Keep in mind- they already had him down for a treatment & had X-rays to confirm he had a cavity between 2 teeth. When we got there for the "emergency visit" the dentist asked him to point to where it hurt and had him X-rayed again since it was one tooth over from where they knew there was already a problem. This new X-ray showed nothing so he determined it was probably coming from the spot one place over and was ready to book another appointment for us to come back and have that fixed (WHICH WAS ALREADY SCHEDULED.). So nothing was done during this "emergency visit"...... I questioned Dr. M on this since I was under the understanding we were actually going to fix the problem that day. He said no, this was just an "emergency consult". Even if my son had pointed to the exact tooth which we knew had a problem, they didn't schedule enough time to fix it anyways. Yes, you heard that right, they squeezed him in for an appt knowing it wasn't enough time to solve any problems they may have found. This was a waste of my time and I kindly expressed that and questioned why they would do this. He was slightly flustered at me and said "I can't keep explaining this to you." I'm going to just explain this- I don't appreciate my money or insurance policy and time being wasted. My husband had already felt the same way when he came in for a cleaning and was scheduled to come in at another time. When you've seen us recently, and you know we have a cavity, and we come in earlier than the scheduled visit to fill the cavity b/c it's hurting, we expect to have it filled. Not just have you look inside. I'm no dentist. I've never worked for one and don't know the tricks fo the trade. But to me, this is exactly what's wrong with "health care" in America. I'll be very specific when scheduling appointments with a new dentist to avoid this trap. AND- to follow up- I found another dentist who saw his X-rays & fixed it all in one stop. No need to drag it out over the course of several visits. read more

I have been a patient of Leander Dental Care since 2012 or so - first seeing Dr McCormick and now seeing Dr Good. I must say I've always hated going to the dentist but Dr Good actually makes seeing the dentist a great experience. He's so kind, friendly, and patient. He has excellent "bedside manner" and I've been happy with his dental work. His assistant Rebecca is great at her job too! They get 5 stars from me! The front office staff is always friendly and helpful too. I'd say the only feedback that I'd give this practice is the phone answering situation. Often when I call (during business hours) I don't get an answer and I have to leave a voicemail. I rarely get a call back. I just have to keep calling every few hours or every day until I can get someone to answer. When I've talked to Lana or Brenda on the phone they're very helpful - just hard to get an answer and impossible to get a call back. Same goes for the hygienists I have interacted with there. Everyone seems to like their jobs and happy to be there on a Saturday! It is evident that the employees are valued, which is so rare and important! Dr. Good is an EXCELLENT dentist and such a kind and positive person. I've been coming here my whole life since I've grown up in the area, and they've always been so nice and provided great service.

I've had nothing but a positive experience with this place. They have always gotten me in quickly and have been unbelievably pleasant. Recently I went in for some discomfort and followed up by calling today to schedule an initial X-ray appointment and cleaning. They happened to have a cancellation in for that evening and got me in at the very end of their long day, which is above and beyond for a practice in my opinion. I had my cleaning with Brandy, and even though my smile is my biggest insecurity and the dentist's office often makes me extremely anxious, I was completely comfortable the entire time and she even complimented me on my teeth which boosted my confidence more than she could have fathomed. My family has been using this dental office for years. We've never had an issue ... until now. Last fall my husband had a small cavity in a front tooth that was next to his partial. Dr.Good told him that he could place a filling but that the filling might not stay in due to the location. My husband decided to try the filling. Who's to know maybe it would work. But Dr. Good was right and within a month the filling fell out. My husband just ignored it for the next few months without any issues. When he returned for his 6 month cleaning he asked Dr Good if he thought a crown would solve the issue. My husband brought up the solution not Dr Good. He said yes that would work. So we asked that they submit the cost of the crown to Met Life Dental (our insurance). We delayed the appointment until we heard back from Met Life. They responded and told us what the negotiated rate was and what we would be responsible for, the appointment was scheduled My husband went in for the procedure and paid with our credit card. He signed the treatment case.... Without really reading it. After all we had everything pre approved. When he came home I reviewed the document and saw that they had charged us significantly more. I immediately called Met Life to inquire about the charge. They said the rate was negotiated and that maybe the dental practice was billing us the insurance portion until they received the insurance remittance. So okay. I waited. Expecting a refund from Leander Dental when they received the insurance check. But nope. I then called Leander Dental. They said I was Not getting a refund. They said the crown was a "custom" crown. And that Dr Good has discussed this with my husband ....HE DID NOT! They said my husband was told that the crown was the only way to repair the tooth and that if that "custom Crown" was not done he would need a complete new partial. This also is untrue. I've now made multiple calls to both Leander Dental and Met Life. We've had conference calls with all on the line. According to Met Life the dental codes for the crown were not even submitted on the pre estimate..... and in fact are covered under our plan at 50%. When speaking with Leander Dental they admitted that they didn't even submit the code because "most dental plans don't cover that". Well ours does!!! Met Life was surprised to hear her say that and told her "yes" we cover that code at 50%. I was then told on May 5th that they would re-submit the request "with" the code. They said they would then call me with updates on 5/12...... nope no call. I spoke with Met Life today. They informed me that they have not received anything from Leander Dental as they were promised. They then called Leander Dental (again). They were told by Leander Dental that the review request would be sent to Met Life today........we'll see. Be VERY careful when dealing with this office. Be prepared to review ALL documents before signing them. Don't count on their honestly.......you'll be disappointed I have the names of all the office people at Leander Dental that have made promises and the very nice kind folks at Met Life Dental insurance that have been working for us to resolve this issue. Leander Dental made a mistake and instead of admitting the error and correcting the matter they have chosen to stall and misrepresent what occurred. We've discussed this with our family, friends and neighbors. We've all come to the same conclusion.... This was an easy fix on their part. Submit the charges you neglected to submit, NOT ALL INSURANCES are the same. To not submit is a disservice to your customers..... how many other families have you done this too!!!! read more

It's just not cool for the doctor to tell a Patient that an expensive procedure can be paid in two payments, since the procedure will take two visits to complete, and then have the front office demand the entire amount on the first visit. Don't y'all talk to each other? Yes, the front office did finally offer the two payments, but only after a very stressful conversation for all involved. Such a complete lack of compassion for your patients, as if we aren't all stressed enough in these trying times with the pandemic. But have no fear, you got your money; however, after this procedure is completed, I'll be finding a new home for my dental needs. read more

If you are looking for a patient relationship with clear upfront pricing and expectations you should NEVER come to this office without plenty of insurance. Cash pay option patients will be required to get new x-rays every other visit even if that second visit is less than 1 year. EVEN IF the office manager will verbally advise that x-rays are valid for one year but when you arrive office staff will have zero knowledge about available records, will feign zero knowledge that x-rays would be valid or accepted for 1 year, the office manager will not make clear and informative notations to your chart, she will sadly not be available, and you will instead be left to feel angry and bitter. Regardless, the fees will increase every single appointment. IF you have insurance and a clear written contractual agreement that they are forced to honor it's actually not an issue. They have added several COVID related fees that you will be responsible for. Not terrible but certainly present. The dentists are very knowledgeable, thorough, and nice enough. You will not usually have the same hygienist but each that we have encountered have been mostly sufficient with a few that are truly remarkable. Scheduling is difficult if you need to speak with staff but they are upfront about staffing shortage. Perhaps that is why the office manager is deficient. Bottom line is you are dispensible and easily replaced by a long line of other patients. You are not going to have a special patient relationship. Longevity and loyalty to this office will be entirely one sided. Just make sure you have insurance or a clear upwards credit limit to cover the increased fees that will be charged with each sequential appointment. read more

So I've been there a few times know and am happy to say I made a good choice. I've been to a few bad ones over the years unfortunately. My daughter was in recently for some treatment, due to some cavities. We were very happy with the staff at the front, they were very prompt on getting us checked in. Even though my daughter had multiple areas of concern, Dr. Good used his expertise and told us the reason we should start on her lower right side, versus another side. She had some large cavities that he wanted to prevent from growing any bigger. My daughter was treated very well and Dr Goods assistants where extremely nice and professional and very comforting to her. Dr Good did a Fantastic Job! We have now taken my daughter for completing other areas of her mouth, and we have to say they we are so glad the work with her crazy schedule. They get her in during non core classes at school and I'm so happy they open at 7am now, we can squeeze in appointments before work or our commute to school. I want to first say, I have never left a negative comment about any business ever. After my recent experience I feel compelled to share in the event there are other patients out there like me. I have only been to Leander Dental Care twice. They were to be our new family dentist. I picked this office based upon all the great reviews it seems to have. But sadly, I can not say that I experienced the same. I will say, my family and I tend to live a more natural, holistic lifestyle...so to go to a traditional dentist is a bit difficult for me, but I feel like basic cleanings and check for cavities is important to overall health (plus it's covered on my insurance)..so I compromise with traditional dentistry along with clean nutrient rich diets, sterilizing tooth brushes, remineralization toothpaste and supplements, etc...So in this experience, I just came in for a cleaning and check up. Six months ago was my first visit with this office. The male hygienist was really nice (at first), and engaged in conversation to get to know me. He was friendly, played music, and overall knowledgeable about his profession. He began cleaning my teeth and realized I had some issues that will need me to come back for a "deep cleaning"...this would mean a four hour procedure to clean my entire mouth under local anesthesia (or a numbing agent of some sort). So needless to say, it's quite a ordeal. He had stopped cleaning my teeth after only four teeth so rest of my teeth did not get checked or cleaned. I had never heard of something like this, so I began to ask questions. The hygienist spouted off all the "science" and "all the research"...which I said was interesting but honestly not a reason for me to book the procedure without doing my own research. After all, even microwave popcorn is said to be related to Alzheimer's. Dr. Good came in and we joked a bit...and then he began to tell me about the "science and research" too...sounded exactly like what I had just heard from the other guy. Nothing different or revealing. I asked if there was something I was eating to cause such an issue (as I had just started 6 months ago a huge diet change) and my last dental visit had no mention of such an issue. So to me, perhaps my diet was to blame for such a shift? I also asked if there was something more "NATURAL or HOLISTIC I could do first before scheduling the procedure"...boy, were these the wrong words to use with this doctor. He immediately shifted from his "bubbly" self to a full on patronizing tone (I am a 40 year old mom of four)....and insinuated that he is getting paid the big bucks for his "opinion". The whole feeling in the air changed...the hygienist got quiet and was no longer his warm, kind self at the beginning of our session. I asked Dr. Good about a very common and widely famous approach to dentistry (Weston A Price), and he hadn't even heard of this person..which I would hope any dentist I see to understand all the research on both sides of the aisle so he can connect and relate to all his clients. Not all patients who come see a traditional dentist fall for the the drill happy, large procedures approach without doing their due diligence first at researching. If I am to undergo such a long procedure and spending a large some of money, you better believe I will go home and research all sides to the treatment before booking. I do not think Dr. Good likes when people challenge his "science". He makes sure by telling you that your are there "paying him for his opinion". He is not open to any other conservative approach to dentistry. The appointment ended abruptly with a patronizing hand shake and a car salesmen voice telling me to "go do your research"...the hygienist walked me to the check out saying I need to sign something so they don't get sued in case my teeth fall out. It was the most uncomfortable, strangest experience of my life. Instead of accepting my approach to healing issues of the body and finding a common ground or at least being friendly about my questions and the fact that I wanted to research this treatment first...it was an immediate shut down. No questioning this doctor. His arrogance was on a quite impressive level. If you are like me, lives a more holistic, natural approach to treating your body, but still need to go to a traditional dentist...please do not go to this practice. I was in tears leaving the office, and have since shared my experience with two other folks who now will not be returning. Shame on you Dr. Good for making someone who has some dental fears and wants to take more than a minute research before booking a long, painful and expensive procedure, feel scolded, uncomfortable, and belittled. read more

Very polite, however, their "recommendation" caused us to spend alot on their faulty advice. They installed a 1 tooth retainer that covered the entire roof if mouth. This temporary 1990's retainer is useless as it is difficult to speak, highly uncomfortable,, and have problems speaking. After all of this service and expensive treatment, we are throwing away our retainer and ordering an Instasmile for 1/3rd of the price. No retainer needed, And you can eat with this. Stay far away from this dentist. read more

I've been going to Leander Dental for a while and initially had a bad experience with a dentist that the later let go. Dr. Good sat with me and apologized and I stuck it out. I even did a previous glowing review. Since then I have referred 4 co workers and 3 family members. But last week was the end for me. A couple months ago I was there for a cleaning and I forgot to take my premed since I have a knee replacement. My hygienist was so sweet about it. I asked her if I really needed it and could I just go ahead and get my cleaning. She said no, she had to have a letter from my surgeon saying I didn't need it. She went on to say it was for my safety and it was important to follow up with my doctor as doing a cleaning could give me a life threatening infection with a joint replacement. She offered to call my surgeon to see if I still needed it as it has been 7 years. She rescheduled me for a couple months later and during that time neither she or I could reach my surgeon as he doesn't practice at that hospital anymore. So I dutifully took my premed and arrived for my appointment. When she took me back she told me since my surgeon hadn't responded they couldn't continue to premed me. This confused me because I had to delay this appt for months since I forgot to take it. So she brought Dr. Good in who had always been wonderful to me. I was sure this would work out. He made small talk and I asked about the premed. Then he began raising his voice and said the ADA says not to premed and it is "new rules that just were published". I asked why I had to wait to get my cleaning if this were the case. Again he started yelling and telling me it was the ADA!! Then he told me that there were lots of dentists in Leander and maybe I'd be happy with them. Then added that they wouldn't write me a RX for the antibiotic either. I was shocked that this seemingly wonderful man could be so nasty all of a sudden over a prescription for antibiotic to prevent me from a life threatening infection to an artificial joint!! The hygienist came back in to start my cleaning and I was shaking so I decided to leave without it. At home I looked up the ADAs recommendations which said if the surgeon doesn't indicate then they don't recommend premed. This position was published in 2014! So I'm unsure if he just now got around to reading it or what,but the attitude toward me was ridiculous. None of my referrals or family will be back to this wolf in sheep's clothing. He is right! There are lots of dentists in Leander. I am happy right down the road from him! Update: Same day I posted this I got a call from Cori who really listened to me and took my concerns seriously. She was very generous and offered me lots of options for remedy. Her words and caring went a long way with me!! read more

Going to the dentist is low on my favorite things to do. However I recently started going here & they have almost changed my mind about how much I despise the dentist. I put off a cleaning for years. When I went in for X-rays & cleaning, I expected them to say I needed a ton of work done (Because in previous experiences at other dental offices that's what they've done When they know it's been a while). I just moved to Leander from CA and started looking for a new dentist. I came across Leander Dental and initially was hesitant to go there because a lot of reviews said that customer service is bad and the receptionist treats patients horribly. I decided to go anyway and had a completely different experience. All staff were absolutely amazing, starting from the receptionists, to the dentist assistant and the dentist himself (Dr. McCormick). They took the time to get to know me and made me feel comfortable. What I also liked about the office is that it was very clean, modern (there's a TV attached on the ceiling!) and the patient's chair is also a massage chair.
