Not gonna lie: Damn good burger. Don't expect anything out of the ordinary though. Just your neighborhood burger joint in a bowling alley, serving up tasty buns, delictuable meat and pleasantly seasoned fries! I hear the tots are what the people come for but by the time I dined in, they were sold out. Womp womp. If you are looking to keep it basic but flavorful - this is a spot I gladly recommend! If you're looking for the crem de la crem though - I just think it's good to set expectations: Food Service: Much faster than I had expected on a Friday night. The front desk crew were pleasant, patient and ready with the suggestions as a first time visitor! You order at the window and when it's ready, they call your name over the intercom for pick up at the window. It can get kind of loud inside so be sure to keep an ear out! Seating: While there ARE plenty of seats to choose from, they aren't solely dedicated the burger joint. As many mentioned before - this is also a bowling alley so you might have to share. You may have to scope for a seat but it's the nature of the beast if you want to dine in. They do have a bar / restaurant area but there aren't very many tables or chairs to choose from. Bar service: Damn near non existent during my visit but good luck. Homie wanted to make coins by serving those in line at the bar window first. Logistically I'm sure it's faster, but share the service! Sat at the bar for almost an hour with no interaction from the bartender whatsoever. Yes - I could have gotten up from my seat at the bar to walk around and get in the bar line but nah. Passed on having any brews with my burger due to that inconvenience but hoping next time I dine in they will have someone else helping out that can help with the drink orders! My recommendation? Although not a gourmand by any means, I do consider myself a bonafide burger FIEND. As such, I was pointed to this joint by a good friend and fellow burger lover. Throwing caution to the wind, I ordered an inferno with bacon. In a word: WOW. In more words, FREAKIN' WOW. The beef patties are generous in size and the grill gives them a really nice char. The jalapenos did their part, as did the creamy pepper jack cheese. Add to this an insane portion of fries and a large icy soda to wash everything down, and that's what I call a perfect meal. Lebowski's is some good eats for a bowling alley! (You might also contract diabetes just from being in proximity but that's neither here nor there) The orders come out quick, hot, and fresh. I ordered the chips and queso and poblano burger. The chips and queso are your average rotel but still do the trick. My poblano burger packed a punch of heat and flavor but I found it a tad on the dry side. I personally didn't care for the buns. They're light and airy but I just wanted to indulge a little more than that. The fries are show stopping though and should be a staple in your order! The dude is also great, and the cashier recommended the dude with garlic pepper mayo to me so I have to try that next time I go. Tator tots tossed in Cajun spices taste amazing. Tots aren't soggy. To be honest, I was not expecting much from this place, but after a group of friends had a gathering here I thought to myself "mayhaps I shouldn't judge a burger house by its roof". I am so glad I gave this place the benefit of the doubt! Their chili burger was super delish and their tots were perfect little food dreams of crispy and grease. I remember going to the bowling alley as a kid, the food was always great and matched the atmosphere. Long gone are those days at this location. The staff is so unhappy to be there and it shows. Rude to take your order and rude to you when you go back to pick it up. It took us 2 full bowling games to get our food and they got the order wrong. At that point we just ate it. Updating for 2016: This place continues to get better and better. I have come by numerous times and usually forget to check in. It so far has my favorite burgers in Austin. The meat is of the thin variety and always has the perfect crispness around the edges. Speed? Yes pronto. When there are lots of people there bowling, they will place an order and then continue bowling until their name is called. Don't be fooled by a short line. These are blue-collar burgers at their best in my opinion. Want a fru fru burger? Hit the bricks. These are designed to fill you up, get all over your shirt and pants, destroy you breath and make you feel like you need to take a bath afterwards. In other words, delicious. Don't change a thing! They have a massive menu for such a little place. Try to order a different item each time. You will fail. Once you have found your "go-to" you will stick with it. Delicious burgers priced right and nice staff! This place is inside the bowling alley, I would've never guessed it would've been so good. I had the inferno burger. It was big, juicy, and flavorful from the pepper jack cheese and jalapeños. The bun is more like a roll which I'm definately a fan of. The fries and tots are truly special. I think the reviews were a bit misleading for me. I understand Lebowski's Grill is just a food counter in a bowling alley, and yes, being such I agree it is quite impressive, but I wouldn't say the food is worth 4 or 5 stars. I had the poblano chicken sandwich, and my friend had the Mushroom, Swiss burger. We also ordered the wings. All three items came with a side of fries or tator tots. Everything was well made, but it was also what could be expected for a burger or wings. And keep in mind the ambiance is that of a bowling alley. It's interesting - I've never seen a food establishment listed on Yelp (and so highly rated) that is located within a bowling alley. I suppose if you are going to be here to go bowling, then I would certainly recommend eating here, but I would not recommend going out of your way to eat here. read more

I showed her the chips and Queso I had and she said she been serving it all day and no one has made a complaint and told me she's the owner and will not give me back my refund of $8. I told her so there's basically nothing you can do for me she said sorry no. I asked her when's the last time u made that Queso she had to think about it and say 2:00pm. I told her show me proof where's the time and date on that container. She said not every place does that so she don't. Helen said the Queso tasted find to her so no refund. Not once for great customer service, she did not show any kind. As long as it tasted good to her, you are not getting a refund. She took my plate didn't care to offer me a new one but offer me back my plate and I said I don't want that clumpy nachos but let me take a pic of it and she threw it in the trash. If you look at the reviews the most recent ones they're all bad also some one found hair in there Queso two days ago and say it wasn't melted properly. If you look closely at the pictures for health inspection is out of date as well. I will be definitely reporting this. So, I called ahead and the phone call went something like this: "Hi, we are driving into town. Can we dine in there or is it to-go only?" "Uhh, no, you can eat here." My first night here in Austin (I'm from CA), and my wife and I were looking for a good burger. Turns out this place was about a mile away. I loved the name, and when I heard it was in a bowling alley, I knew I had to check it out. I was not disappointed. First off, when I saw it was in a bowling alley, I assumed it was one of those alley/restaurant deals. Nope, this place is straight up the snack shack at a bowling alley. It's probably one of the most unassuming places I've ever ordered a burger from. The grill is right there across from the ordering counter, and I chatted with the cashier and cook while I ordered. They were awesome, and the cashier even upgraded our drink sizes for free when I mentioned being from California and being a big fan of the Big Labowski (the sweet tea was SO GOOD)! I told him I wanted to order a white russian at their bar, to which he cracked up and said he would bring our food to us there. We sat down at the bar, and the friendly bar tender immediately struck up a conversation. You should have seen her eyes roll when I asked how good her white russians were! She was such a good sport, and made me one of the best white russians I've ever had. (Not too sweet, where the vodka actually compliments the milk and Kahlua.) She even told us about a DIFFERENT burger place she enjoyed while we waited for our Labowski burgers! Onto the food. My wife and I both ordered a Jalepeno "fusion" burger. This sucker was big, spicy, and hot off the grill. They use a really tasty sweet roll style of bun that rounded out the savory sauce and jalepenos really well. I'm not going to say it's the best burger I've ever had, but it is probably in my top 5. The seasoned fries were cooked to a perfect golden-brown. I've never enjoyed eating in a bowling alley before. I will gladly come back to this place the next time I'm in town. Great burgers, great staff, and great white russians! ;) UPDATE: I've been in town twice since my first visit, and I've gone to Lebowski's both times. I've yet to be disappointed. Yelpers have been telling us how good this place was for years, today we found out how right they were! YUM!! Amazing, mouthwatering burgers and the BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH I've ever had. I asked and found out they get fresh chicken breast, marinate it in something wonderful, then hand batter it in a seasoned batter that they make before frying it. The chicken sandwiches and tenders have always been perfectly cooked, well seasoned, and super juicy. I've had the infusion burger several times, and it is packed full of flavor and delicious! The Philly cheesesteak is so tasty and so much food. They also have a yummy BLT (ask for it spicy and it comes with chipotle lime mayo - SO good!) There's a variety of sauces that they make in house, but my absolute favorites are the sriracha honey mustard (perfect on the chicken) and jalapeno ranch (put it on everything!). Ordering Trev and I split the Bacon Cheese Burger ($8.99) - 1/3 lb. angus beef topped with pickles, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, mayo & mustard, bacon & American cheese. They upgraded to side salad ($1) with jalapeno ranch dressing. II. The burgers The patty had a great sear, but was cooked well done. It was meaty and flavorful. The bun was nice and gooey. My bun was too big for my burger patty, but Wayne and Sumana didn't have that problem. This may be because the patties are hand formed? The toppings were all good. I liked the chopped onions and lettuce. The mustard was on the top bun, which tasted great! The bacon on our burger was excellent. As Trevor said, "This is a great backyard burger." I enjoyed it quite a bit. III. The Fries/Sides Sumana really liked the fresh salad. She was surprised how fresh everything seemed since this is a little place inside a bowling alley. She mentioned the jalapeno ranch dressing was really great and spicy. Our tots were good, nicely fried. IV. Miscellaneous This place is located inside the Highland Lanes bowling alley. They only serve pepsi products so if you prefer Coke, you're out of luck. Everything is cooked to order and they have a great looking griddle back there. V. Value We have a new way to measure value. I ask the members how much they would pay for the burger they ate. We would pay anywhere from $6 to $7 for this burger. So this burger is a little on the high side since it's priced at $7 to $9 (including fries/tots). VI. The verdict Great basic backyard burger. Come and eat a burger while you bowl. My second favorite of any I have ever had. I doubt they make it there but whoever/wherever it comes from, they do a pretty sweet job of it. The fries have some spices added that make them good without ketchup but they are unquestionably better with the aforementioned ranch. The burger is great. I imagine the meat is nothing special, likely being a frozen patty (please forgive me if I am wrong and have offended). But it doesn't matter because the burger is great. It has a little bite, it's juicy and there's plenty of flavors with everything on it. I love that the bacon is actually crispy so you get a crunch when you take a bite. My only criticism is it could use bite. It's probably spicy for normal human beings, I don't know. But if I'm ordering a burger labeled "inferno", granted it's supposed to be the hybrid, as I mentioned, but I expected it to be -- HOT. It's not hot. It's a medium.
