It doesn't matter how good their pastries are or how low their prices are, their customer services is disgusting. I think they forget that I can go down the street to Stop and Shop and get a cake. Some reason I've had a sweet tooth lately. I've been checking out all the yummy pastry shops near me. I used to go here all the time as a kid. I remember them being really good. But then again, aren't all doughnuts good when your a kid? Leddy's has the most pastries that I've seen at any bakery around here. Three huge cases, full of different types of pastries. I ordered a variety of them to bring to my moms. Some normal jelly doughnuts, which I thought where awful... dry and hardly any jelly. I also ordered some french toast thingys... yum... boston creme and some of the ones with sprinkles. My favorite was the apple danish's! They where so flaky and fresh tasting! The line was kinda long... mostly the customers fault though. Can we decide what we want before we get to the cashier? lol. Anyhow... This isn't the best place I've been to yet. My recent experiences shopping at Leddy's Bakery have been very disappointing. My family has shopped there for over 60 years. I have always made a pilgrimage to Leddy's during my visits to load up on favorites. Olivia has always been so nice and always delivered a high quality product with excellent customer service. Since Olivia and her husband sold the business in the past 3 years, my experience has deteriorated. I was charged for $13 in products not received. The frosted cinnamon roll was hard and stale and now they have discontinued them. I called and was offered a credit to use anytime. I explained that I could not return soon since I do not live nearby. I was told this would not be an issue. I recently returned and they did not want to honor the $13 credit. The owner was initially too busy to speak with me but finally came out and agreed to give me the promised credit. The server was rude yet she was the reason that this problem existed by overcharging me $13. In the middle of my transaction, she walked away and had someone else cash me out. I was not aware until I got home over an hour away, that I did not receive all the requested items nor did I get my receipt. I called and spoke to the new owners' daughter who abruptly told me that I was "not charged for the items that I asked for...What else can I do"? She did not think that this was a problem. This would not have happened under Olivia and her husband's watch. Customer service and quality products are key to business success. You can have the greatest products but if you deliver them with poor customer service and attention, your business can fail. Sadly my Leddy's days are over. read more

Thus is probably the best bakery where you can get a doughnut, slice of pizza or a cookie. Leddys is such a great place to go for breakfast or to just grab a dozen of doughnuts. Being a cheerleader and having a team of 30 girls at least we get 3 dozen doughnuts for competition morning when we are at coaches doing hair early in the morning. With the leftovers, the doughnuts dont go stale either from the previous day unlike places like Dunkin Donuts. Overall I highly suggest Leddys bakery. read more

My cousin purchased custard pies from this bakery end of last week. His family had some of it that night, and put away the rest for later. They tried to eat more yesterday and found it had molded over after only a couple of days. When my cousin tried to take back the custard pie to show the owner, instead of providing some type of decent customer service and giving my cousin a refund or replacement, the owner yelled at my cousin and essentially kicked him out of the store. I can't believe I've lived in Fall River my whole life and just recently discovered this bakery. I love donuts and feel it's hard to find ones that are actually good. I ordered a chocolate frosted sprinkle donut and was not disappointed! The donut tasted fresh and light and the chocolate frosting was delicious! The donut didn't taste like it was soaked in old grease like the ones from Dunkin. With their low prices and great donuts, I don't know why anybody would go to Dunkin. They have a large selection of other pastries that looked delicious as well but I have yet to try anything else. read more

Someone mentioned that this long established business was under new ownership and from a recent visit that shows and not in a positive way at all. Out of fairness I did visit in the afternoon on a weekday but they had next to nothing to choose from. Why increase your hours of operation and not have products available to purchase? This makes sense how? So the great tasting donuts that they really were known for previously, that used to be a fresh, deliciously good, artery clogging treat even hours after you purchased them (unlike DD's tire treads/hockey pucks that they call a donut)I could not even try. So donut sadness over, I moved onto the pastries. The female server was of great help when I asked for anything with "real" cream. Ordered about one of everything they had with real cream and as I remembered was delighted by how cheap two boxes of pastry still are at Leddy's..nice that some things haven't changed! My delight and wallet friendly happiness ended there..real cream..nope.. I don't think so..more of a possible attempt at real cream with a dash of blah added for an added lack of flavor. So sadly a Fall River institution has yet again been lost it seems. My favorite is a chocolate frosted donut with creme in the middle and in the age where it will cost you a buck or more for a coffee shop donut that will be stale in a few hours, Leddy's is a bargain. Most all their single "deluxe" pastries are less than a buck and donuts and cupcakes run you around .50/.60 ea. Leddy's made and delivered my wedding cake this past weekend. It was fantastic! Not only was it beautiful, but many agreed, this was the best tasting wedding cake we've ever had. I have ordered birthday cakes from them for years. They have always provided good service and great products. But for my wedding they went above and beyond to assist me. I was just outside of their delivery area. I frantically tried to find someone else who could deliver the cake for me. I was heartbroken at the thought of having to trust someone else with something so important to me. They managed to fit me in. Not only was my beautiful cake delivered when they said it would be. It was delivered by the nicest man who obviously is well rehearsed in dancing with these multi tiered treats. My now husband was so appreciative and so impressed, he offered the driver a tip. Can you believe the driver refused? He congratulated my husband instead and wished us blessings. Our ceremony was not until 2, the only time they could deliver it was at 11, we did not cut it until 4:30. We provided shade for the cake. The frosting held up perfectly. We feared it would melt off but it looked just as beautiful when we cut it as it did when it was delivered. I can not thank these wonderful people more for their level of professionalism and their love of the craft. I wish them many years of successful business. read more

Well, we used to be loyal Leddy's customers. Literally every family occasion we had was either cake or donuts from Leddy's. Even our wedding cake was done here, our daughter's baptism...countless birthdays...Over the past few years the customer service has gone really downhill. They used to be a nice family place who at least would make it right if they messed up. I don't know if they got too big for their britches or what. The first time we ordered a cake for a 1 yr old birthday. We watched the person in line in front of us pay and walk out with our Sesame Street cake. We thought hey that's funny they ordered the same cake. NOPE that was ours. They brought us out a COMPLETELY different cake, different flavor, different filling, different NAME on it. They had no explanation and acted oblivious. We ended up at WalMart buying an Elmo to go on top. After the second time our order was completely wrong and late, with not even an apology, we've had it with the rotten attitude of the older ladies running the place. The Princess cake we ordered for a 5 yr old's party was 1.5 hours late being ready and the name was spelled wrong. They wouldn't even throw in 5 birthday candles for the trouble of sitting in my car for 45 minutes with a 2 yr old crying. One of the ladies point blank told us if we don't like it go somewhere else. So we will. These are just two examples, so many other stories we have and have heard from others now that we've told friends our experience. I'm not sure how the place is staying in business the way they treat customers. I guess they make enough money selling donuts to Fall River locals they don't need cake/bakery business. AWFUL EXPERIENCE/SERVICE!!...ordered my daughters birthday cake and smash cake two days prior to her party, I was told that my cakes would be ready by 10:30. The day of the party, my father in law went to pick up the cake, arriving at 10:30, was told that they were working on the smash cake and could not find the birthday cake. After 1 hour of waiting, he got both cakes and came home. Neither cake was what I ordered. I ordered a two layer vanilla cake with strawberry filling and cream frosting with a picture of a ladybug on it (same as the party plates). And for the smash cake, a cake in the shape of a ladybug. What I received was a two layer dry vanilla cake, cream frosting for filling and cream on top with no picture (was told they couldn't do any sort of decoration/pictures on real frosting) just strawberry's and not to mention they had spelled my daughters name wrong!!! "Lean" instead of "Leah", who names their child, Lean?!? As for the smash cake, a single layer flat round cake with a smudged picture of a ladybug on it. When I called to voice my discontent, the girl on the other line was snickering and did so when my husband returned to have the name fixed. If i would of had more time, I would have left the cake and asked for my money back, but unfortunately,I could not. I would not recommend anyone to trust this bakery with a cake for an important event. Such an memorable milestone, now has an awful memory!! read more
