In my opinion and based on my experience, go elsewhere. After touring Ledgestone, we decided to go to Alexis Pointe in Wimberley. My mother stayed there for years before she passed. Luckily, my husband has toured many assisted living facilities in Texas because he worked as a lab services salesman. He didn't like the design of the Memory Care facility - rooms subdivided from the one big square common area. He asked me to look elsewhere. And don't make the mistake of providing your mailing address because they will bombard you with solicitations for years even if you call and request that they remove your name from your list. read more

My mom has been living here for one year. And, for the first year, the facility seemed to be well run. The Facility Director (Ian) left several months ago. Since then customer service quality has noticeably decreased. Front desk staff have become unresponsive and do not return phone calls. Staff was also unable to provide a new lease in a timely manner, and then multiple staff appointments to review the new lease were not kept. The facility recently switched to a different telephone provider which was poorly communicated. After the phone service was switched to the new provider, my mom's TV Service was switched off without any notification. As of now, I am still trying to get my mom's TV Service restored. read more

We used to love this facility. The staff was great and our family members were loved and cared for back in 2019 when we moved them in. Fast forward to the last couple of years, staff turnover is raging, no communication (which is very difficult when your family member has advanced dementia), and new faces every time we visit that are not helpful. When visiting I often find her with dried poop on her clothes, shoes, bathroom, sheets. Many many dirty dishes all over her room. Nails 2+ inches long. Greasy hair and body odor proving not bathing for long periods of time. I have tried to address issues with current director Mendi, and nothing has changed. Would not recommend any soul live here in memory care right now. We are searching for other options for our family member. Very sad. This is neglect and abuse. read more

I use to recommend Ledge Stone Assisted Living to anyone that asked. However, after the care, or lack of care, a relative of ours receives at Ledge Stone Assisted Living, I tell people to look elsewhere. The air conditioner hasn't worked in a month... when a family member asked Executive Director Mendy Ramsay why, she said, "there's a number they can call if they need something. It's not up to us to do it". During this conversation, a worker was seen walking into a service closet and plugging it back in. It then began to work in the rooms. Another resident, who clearly had a stroke and in a wheelchair, was at the front desk asking for help with her telephone because it wasn't working. The worker told her, "you need to call someone for that. I don't do it". Her phone wasn't working... how was she suppose to call AND she was writing the request because she had a hard time forming words...?!? Families are paying for their loved ones to be in Ledge Stone ASSISTED living and they aren't getting ASSISTANCE! According to a staff member, only 2 people are on site on weekends. Maintenance doesn't even work on weekend emergencies. The person at the welcome desk gets pulled in to serve meals and other tasks. The front door remains locked and you must bang on it or call a number if you take your loved one out for a day visit, lunch, etc. You can't always get someone to answer the phone to open the door because they are busy doing something else. Where are other workers?? I won't go into the number of times the trash hasn't been taken out or the sheets were "lost" or our relative was handed a top sheet and told to just lay on the mattress and cover up since they didn't want to look for the fitted sheet, or the bed wasn't made for a week. We chose Ledge Stone because of the reputation it HAD. I am a member of many community sites, and recently Ledge Stone Assisted Living has been constantly blasted and is known for the unfriendly, uncooperative administrative staff. Their reputation is horrible. My suggestion would be for someone from corporate to randomly show up or disguise themselves as a family member and do a thorough investigation! read more

Ledgestone has been a God send for our family. Our mother was being left in a room alone and without any feeding supervision ( for which we were paying quite a high added fee) in a different facility. She was literally wasting away. A family friend told us about Ledgestone. We moved her to their memory unit. From day one they have been amazing! They are kind and caring. She now participates in numerous daily activities, she is well fed (with no additional fees), and very clean and well taken care of. She is actually very happy and content. The staff is amazing! They are kind and loving and very professional. They make my mom feel loved and well cared for. I would recommend for anyone. We love Ledgestone! read more

I CANNOT say enough amazing things about our experience with moving my Granny into Ledgestone. Debra Maddox is the most amazing person! The moment my Granny met Debra she fell in love with her. Debra is so sweet, caring, loving and patient!! She made us both feel safe and excited. She was the deciding factor in moving my Granny in. Ledgestone is a beautiful place! The amenities are remarkable!!! I cannot wait for my Granny to enjoy everything they have to offer!! So many things to do!! We are both so very happy. They go over and beyond to make the residents feel happy and enjoy their lives. My granny loves the food, care and love she is receiving!! I honestly cannot say enough about how incredible Ledgestone experience has been. read more

Witnessed one of this facilities shuttle bus drivers aggressively texting and driving on a major highway, (290) endangering the lives of those on the bus, as well as those on the road around. This driver, late 20s to early 30s female with curly dark hair, was reckless and all over the road not staying in her lane. If this facility allows that they must not care about their residents. read more

When the Ledgestone independent Living building opened up 5 years ago, across from our neighborhood near Dripping Springs, we were thrilled. It was perfect timing for my aging mother to sell her home in South Austin and move into a space much closer to us. And we have not been disappointed. The building is spacious and gorgeous. My mom doesn't have to leave the building on the coldest or hottest days - she has everything she needs right there. The food is not gourmet, but it suits my mom just fine, and she is so happy that she doesn't have to shop for groceries or cook any more. (We are happy as well, because we feel like it is safer for her not to use her stove or oven in her apartment.) The full activity calendar has been a sanity-saver for my mother - she feels much happier when she is keeping busy and has activities to look forward to. Bridge, bingo, church services, happy hours - she enjoys them all. The building has definitely had lots of staff turnover and staffing issues through the years, but the current director and activity director are amazing. My mom can't say enough good things about them. I hope they stick around! Housekeeping is included in the rent which is wonderful. I wish they did a little bit more thorough cleaning in my mom's apartment, but some cleaning is better than none. The facility is not perfect... but it has been absolutely perfect for our family's needs. So thankful for Ledgestone! read more

Last night, Jun 9, at 9:30 pm I received a phone call from my brother advising that Mom had been called him because there was no response to her call for assistance, and she had been waiting for 45 minutes. He called the front desk and there was no answer. I immediately called again and Heather answered. Mom's call request had just been answered and my brother verified it with Mom when he called her back and she advised she now had assistance. I've stated this before and will reiterate... The call system that the residents have is not adequate! Should there be a dire emergency, a resident does not have any way to verbally communicate an need! How can it be impressed upon you that there needs to be a system where the resident can verbally relay an issue and receive an acknowledgement that assistance is on the way? I realize that there are so many "what ifs" that may never happen, but it only takes one tragic one to be completely sure that this system is not adequate. Is the corporation willing to wait for that one tragic event happen? Or, would it be better to be proactive and set a better system in place for the safety of all residents? If I was the CEO of this corporation, I would provide all residents with the most safe and reassuring system. It is not fair to tell these people they are safe and not provide them the tools to be reassured of there safety. read more

There is an Independent Living building and an Assisted Living facility across the parking lot. My review is only about the Independent side where a relative has lived for over a year. Pros: fairly reasonable cost compared to other places in Austin I think. Modern, brand new. Nicer more contemporary styling than outdated other places. Good location across from new restaurants etc. Full sized washer and dryer in unit. And full kitchens! Washing machine, oven, fridge, stove. I believe they originally were not going to have a communal dining room so they gave every unit a full kitchen. But they ended up building a dining room anyway. Cons: Seems they have a challenge retaining staff. High turnover with help. But Austin has very low unemployment so employees may have other options. Maybe they need to pay staff more? Parking can be tough some days, but not always. I'm sure there are other details I could get from my relative but this is what I see. Overall we're pretty happy with Ledgestone independent living. They do a good job shuttling residents to HEB Mondays and Walmart on Fridays. Dining room is nice. Food is just ok. Lots of residents play games together in the lobby. Seems like a nice bunch of residents. read more

I would highly recommend not putting a loved one in this place, or any facility owned by Civitas Senior Living. I put my parents, both with Alzheimer's disease in respite care here for 3 weeks while my nuclear family took a much needed break from caregiving. The care was awful! My mom was filthy upon pick up, as was their room. I spoke with the staff there and no one appeared to know what was going on. I'm sorry is basically what I got. I contacted the company that owns them to complain and after several conversations I still did not get answers. Lots of cover up, lies (ex - my mom hasn't dressed herself or done any self care in years, but apparently a miracle happened there and she was totally independent). Meds were totally messed up for both of my parents. I asked what was being done to fix the obvious problems with staff, care and communication. The Executive VP of Operations told me all they can do is make sure these things don't happen again, and that the employee responsible for dropping a major ball on their care plan had been crying during their meeting that morning. As if I care! Sorry but am I suppose to care that she's upset because she messed up my parent's care plan?! Total incompetence. I assured him there were many more tears cried at my house over this. Just for the record, the first VP I talked with did not answer one of my questions. She just wasted my time explaining to me things I was already fully aware of. I could barely get a word in! Stay away from this place!!!!!! read more

It just gets worse. Now overnight, the former director is gone with no notice or explanation to the residents. The dining room continues to be a complete and utter disaster with service pretty much laughable. Residents are ignored, food that is meant to be cooked and hot is served cold on plates that feel like they've been refrigerated, manager (when there), is non-active and has no care for the vulnerable and portions of the meals are virtually inedible. Again, if we could get out and about, maybe less of an issue but for those of us who can't, our age and mobility is being gravely taken advantage of. Very sad state of affairs as the turnover continues, no management really in place now, very few staff knows us anymore and the clear feeling is that this is a profit making money machine taking all it can from those who don't necessarily have many other choices if wanting to stay close to family. If searching, would still suggest you keep looking. It's a corporation with no care and no friendly face at all except for Andy in the Bistro and our sweet work-out gal. Generally nice community of residents and thank goodness some of us have each other because that's it and we are still super careful of what we say to whom otherwise we go on the blacklist! read more

Within the 20 months my mother resided in the Memory Care here the facility went though 3 Executive Directors, 2 Staff Nurses (one more inept than the previous), countless chefs, and a revolving door of all staff positions (minus a very small handful of conscientious caregivers). They managed to lose 2 sets of expensive hearing aids which forced me to purchase a third set but would only reimburse me for one pair (these medical devices are to be locked in the med. cart by a trained med. tech and returned to the resident daily); they lost her partial denture which also had to be replaced at great personal expense and inconvenience and they offered no compensation (this, too, is considered a medical device that should be locked in the med. cart by a responsible med tech); they also frequently lost her clothing and shrank 3 heavy wool cardigans by machine washing and drying them (duh!). My 89 year old mother fell out of bed and broke her collarbone so I purchased a bed rail and alarm to alert caregivers when she required assistance only to learn (from another resident's family member) that the alarm blared for 45 minutes one night and there were zero caregivers in the locked unit! Nine weeks after the collarbone, my mother suffered a broken hip when trying to use the bathroom and that was the final straw! Most families choose not to voluntarily move established Memory Care residents as it can be tremendously disorienting and deleterious to their health but at least four other families made that same difficult and unusual choice for their loved ones around the same time we did. While the facility looks attractive, beware: it's a case of a "Queen Anne" front and "Mary Ann" behind. read more

Our parents lived in a big house out in the country, and had been using home caregivers for 12-hour daytime care. Their declining health and their isolation, prompted us to seek out a different, better care situation for them, where they could continue to be together. We visited 5 assisted living communities that also had memory care units, and Ledgestone Assisted Living Community definitely surpassed them all!!! We were wowed when we first walked in the door by their beautiful open dining room, common living areas, and fully stocked bistro. We were further impressed when touring their spacious one bedroom apartments (perfect for our parents), their activity room and hair salon. We loved the calendar full of fun, varied activities, and learning about the availability of an in-house nurse practitioner and lab. We brought our mom to lunch and a tour. Although she said it was all very nice, she and our dad did NOT want to leave their home. However, with the amazing assistance of Marcia Lang, the Community Relationships Director, in a week's time we had our parents moved in with their own familiar furniture surrounding them. After just two days of the delicious meals, and the lovely, conscientious caregivers and med techs, both our parents told us they loved their apartment and would be just fine there. My sister and I left that evening with happy tears and a huge sense of relief, knowing our parents were happy and well cared for. We are so grateful to the genuinely caring,competent staff at Ledgestone for helping them create a new home and a loving extended family. read more

Ledgestone Assisted living has been a wonderful place for our Dad; a new widower after 67 years. We moved him last August to Texas from the only home he knew in New Mexico. We did a lot of research on senior living facilities. Kim Terracina met with us several times, gave us tours, treated us to lunch, patiently answered all of our questions, and listened to our concerns. We were worried about his ability to live there with dignity and some independence. The facility is beautiful, and the staff are truly caring. Everyone calls us by name, and EVERYONE: the housekeepers, the wellness staff, the activities staff, and the executive director, the receptionist and maintenance man have been so kind and compassionate to Dad. We can join him for meals, take him out, and come at any hour of the day or night to visit. We know he is in good hands. He is busy every day with numerous activities--something we never thought he would want to do. The very best thing about Ledgestone are the RESIDENTS. They are such good friends to one another, and they look out for each other. This winter, Dad had a couple of colds and needed to stay in his room for a few days. Many of the residents were genuinely concerned and asked about him when they saw my sister or me. When he was able to join the group again at mealtime, he was welcomed by the others with sincere joy--this whole experience gives us great peace of mind. read more
