I love this place when I crave Dim Sum. I grew up on the west coast and there are Dim Sum locations every few feet. Not in Florida. This place always delivers for the Lunar New Year. This place will provide some traditional dishes. I love the soup selection and the sugar donuts are a must! The dim sum is always flavorful and fresh. Nothing needs added soy sauce because the favor is top notch. We've had every option of dim sum and no complaints. SIDE NOTE: Steamed Pork will still have a pink hue - it's NOT fried like southerners are used to. Look if you are looking for that Americanized Panda stuff with sauces that are too sweet and "House fried rice" as an entree then move along but if you want authentic this is the place. Sorry, I'm not one for fried rice as an entree. I grew up eating left over steamed rice with egg as a breakfast dish! lol .. I decided to go here to meet up with friends and I must say, I was not disappointed. If I were to compare it to Yummy House, I would say that I prefer Lee House over Yummy House. Reasons being, consistency in taste and the variable options on menu for Chinese, Thai or sushi! Flavors were definitely very tasty and I just wanted to lick the plate but I had to stay lady-like for the sake of my own soul. Beef Chow-fun: Absolutely incredible! So very tasty! My favorite that night! Ginger & Garlic Chicken: Not too flavorful, it was lacking in taste. Chicken Lomein: Delish! Yummm! Fried Calamari: It didn't have a rubbery taste to it, it was good! Beef and Chinese Brocolli: I was excited about this dish but it was disappointing as the Chinese broccoli was too bitter for it. Chinese sugar donuts: Such a perfect way to end the night!!! Awesome! This is our favorite Chinese. The XO seafood fried rice is fantastic, with super tender bits of calamari, shrimp, scallops. We like the curry chicken and ginger beef - both actually have a heat level to them, unlike most Chinese restaurants that list something as spicy and it is not in any way spicy. Their Vietnamese spring rolls are great. We usually order a variety of dumplings, plus our entrees, so that we have food to eat later. This is the only Chinese restaurant that I have found in the Brandon area that serves up decent food. It is hidden in a Publix plaza off of Brandon Boulevard, tucked behind an Arby's (in the same plaza as The Rack Brandon). I used to frequent their Bloomingdale location before for dim sum and their delicious Seafood Chow Fun dish. I was sad to see that location closed and I thought I lost them forever! But, just this week I found them again at this new location. The tinted windows and glowing signs, plus the strip mall location make it seem like just another take-out place. But, it is in fact much different. It is not as good at Yummy House or China Yuan, but comes in a close third and conveniently located in Brandon. They have a great dinner special where you pick three dishes from a menu for $21.95. It is a pretty sweet deal condisering that the dishes to pick from are no joke. Like; Seafood in XO, Roast Duck, Sliced Beef with Gai Lan, etc. We ordered the Sliced Fish Filet in XO, it was a great dish and the fish was delicate, but still held up well with the XO. The Salt and Pepper Squid was just ok, but still better than some other places. The Crispy Peking Pork Chops were _perfect_... Lee House is Center located in Brandon . They have dim sum menu but we did not try it. My neighbors table order the Hong Kong style egg noodle wonton soup. They seem to enjoy it very much. I also notice they run out the last bowl of this soup that night. We select the item at the last page menu with three courses for $25. Not a bad deal. We have the salt and pepper squid, grouper with XO sauce, and beef chow fun. The dishes is big and good for hungry people. The squid is in wet batter coating which I am not a fan. But the other two dishes did a good job. I notice they have delivery. I have read one of friend review about 2.5 hour delay story. I think their delivery is not reliable. Have you ever had a craving for Chinese and just think "OMG I hope they have good Chinese food here?" It's a question I've had for the last seven years while living in Florida. I found this place a couple of years ago and when I lived in Brandon this was the only place I'd order Chinese food from. Mostly cause out of all the options near me, it was the best I could find. One thing I can say consistently about this place is the wait for the food. It's ~always~ at least a 40 minute wait for your food, and sadly today was another one of those 40 minute wait. This wait doesn't matter if you order out, get delivery, or eat in (when it's available); you're gonna end up waiting no matter what! The interior of the restaurant is old and out dated. It honestly would be nice to see it spruced up inside. It's very dark which gives off a dingy feel to the place. New lights, chairs, tables, and booths would definitely improve the dine in experience. The service experience in the past has been so-so, mostly in getting drinks refilled or service to the table for odds and ends while eating. However, I kept coming back because the food is as close as I could find to Michigan Chinese. I know, I know you're probably thinking "what difference is there between locations, Chinese is Chinese right?!" And that my friend, is where you're mistaken! I'm not sure what makes it different specifically, but Chinese in Michigan is notches above the Chinese I've found in Florida. Maybe it's the abundance of chinese buffets in Michigan or something! Just kidding! I honestly don't know why it's different. However, to get back to this review... The restaurant is always busy and does have decent food, so I'm happy to know they're not running out of business anytime soon. My go to order is chicken and broccoli combination plate. It's my favorite dish to get, and I judge every new Chinese restaurant I go to by this dish. I do have to ask for white sauce instead of the brown soy saucey sauce I get if I don't specify (and no my friends it's not garlic sauce I get instead). I love that they serve chicken fried rice instead of pork fried rice, and it's not an upgrade charge either! You also get plenty of choices to choose for your side to include soup, soda, egg roll, or spring roll. Though you might see an upcharge for a spring roll if I recall right. For tonight's meal I went with wanton soup. I was a little disappointed as there only two wontons in my side soup. They were tasty, but I sure wanted more! I regret not ordering the large soup like I planned on initially. To also treat myself I got the sugar donuts from the appetizer. The menu doesn't specify how many you get, but you do get a lot! I have to say I am disappointed in my chicken fried rice as it's sooo salty tonight!! I could only take a few bites before moving onto my chicken and broccoli. My friend ordered the bourbon chicken with pork fried rice. She gushed saying the bourbon chicken was perfect, but again the pork fried rice was super salty. So it must have been a rice issue tonight. I do like that they have an online ordering portal that you can place your order through. The downside though is that I was advised through the online portal my meal was ready and it supposedly wasn't. I get into the store, and am ignored not by one staff member but by two! Neither one of them acknowledged myself or a young woman who walked in shortly after I did for a bit of time. When I was finally acknowledged I gave over my name and they were unable to locate my order and told me it'd be just a few minutes later. What turned out to be ten minutes later, it was found out that my order was ready and had been ready for over ten minutes and had been sitting in the back. So I was a little disappointed in seeing that the order sitting in view on a counter in back was mine. They never moved it out to the pick up table. I was a little dismayed when I got home and my sugar donuts were already going soggy, but thankfully putting them in the air fryer was a save! All in all, with me having moved away from the Brandon area, I'm not sure I'd make the journey often to come back. However, I hope anyone else who eats here enjoys the food! read more

Do not use the online order system. The system connects to Door Dash, and if there is a problem with the order, Lee House will argue with you and make you jump through hoops to get it fixed. I ordered three items, only got two When I called the store, they argued with me for over 20 minutes SWEARING they put the items in the bag. The driver in NO WAY could have the extra items (A full box of Chinese food) so there was a mix-up somewhere at the store. The problem really is they were absolutely not willing to correct the issue. I've ordered from Lee House for years because they have dishes I enjoy, but this last order was a disaster. I know they tend to run a little late, so I ordered for a 6pm pick up thinking that the buffer would help have it ready when my partner arrived. No, when he got there he was told they had already given the food to someone else, so it had to be remade. By time he was leaving there, it was 7:15. It was the wrong order. I ordered Shrimp and was given chicken, but it's hard to tell since it is breaded and covered in sauce. I'm upset at this point and call wanting my money back. They admit the mistake of making chicken instead of shrimp but said I did not pay them so they cannot give me my money back. They claim that paying on the website does not go to them and I would need to contact the person who runs the website. I never get upset at food workers cause I've been there before, but I was very angry that there was no care to fix this problem. I told the woman that it was their phone number on the website, with no other contacting choices. She said the best she could do was store credit, so I ended up driving the twenty minutes again to get the correct order. I was never given an apology or my money back. I didn't end up eating until almost 9pm on an order that was suppose to be ready and correct at 6pm. This was suppose to be a celebratory dinner on my last day of work and it was terrible. I was debating between 3 vs 4 stars but I think they deserve 4 stars for their food. We went for dimsum on a Tuesday night and they had almost everything available. We also got a to go order of the beef chow fun and it was tasty. I loved the shumai. The portion was generous at an afforable price. I think this place is a good bargain since they give you a good amount of food. The service was okay, not the nicest but they did their job of taking your order and bring you food so I have nothing to complain. I don't know what is going on here, but this place is NOT a 3 star restaurant! Let me start with the price. The lunch special is $5.50 for soup, an entree and fried rice. I don't care if they give me dry ramen and a pot of hot water for that price. Aside from the price, the food is actually really good. And, they did not give me dry ramen noodles, they gave me decent quality food. The General Tso's shrimp was delicious (I think it's a few cents extra). The pork fried rice was as good as anyone could expect. The soup was decent. They also happen to have really fantastic dim sum. Steamed or fried dumplings, siu mai, pork buns (favorite), a ton of things that I have not tried yet. EVERYTHING from this menu is awesome (from what I've tried on two occasions). To sum this up... Come here for lunch and enjoy a GIANT meal for under $10. You will have enough for dinner too. Trust me. The service here is fine. I am not sure what people expect for a little dim sum restaurant. A 20% tip is going to be at max $5. What do you really think you are going to get for that? Give these people a break. P.S. I'm sorry that this review is more of a rant than anything. Lee House Chinese Restaurant has re-opened on Brandon Boulevard after closing off Bloomingdale Avenue in March. I first read about Lee House online and was intrigued at the positive reception. The first thing we noticed upon pulling up to the restaurant was that it smelled great outside the restaurant (a good sign). Once we entered we were seated immediately and given menus and water. The waitress was an older woman who knew the menu well. After much deliberation (the menu is a few pages), we decided to order the Lee House Special (similar to Yummy House's 3 for 20 deal). We selected Salt & Pepper Calamari, Beef with Broccoli, and Young Chow Fried Rice which came to $21.95 total. Quite a deal when you dine with some friends. Plenty of warm food came out quickly. The Salt & Pepper Calamari was delicious. My favorite calamari dish now belongs to Roy's, but this calamari was still quite delectable and was a good stand-in for the calamari at Yummy House (my favorite until recently). The calamari was a little chewy instead of crunchy, but had lots of flavor. I was a little concerned that it had jalapenos on it (I can't take spicy food), but the jalapenos brought the calamari a great taste. We finished this plate down to the last bite. The Beef with Broccoli was also fantastic. The sauce was made just right and the beef was tender. I am not much of a vegetable consumer, but my friend loved the veggies on the plate. The Young Chow Fried Rice was a nice complement and wasn't dry. I am not much of a rice eater, therefore anytime I actually enjoy eating rice, I know I am having a good meal. The food was enough to fill three guys and I was impressed with Lee House. There are very few good Chinese restaurants in Brandon and dining at Lee House was enjoyable. I really want to try their Dim Sum in the future. From the Dim Sum menu the Deep Fried Taro, Custard Cream Buns, and Juicy Pork Bun caught my eye. After catching wind about a dim sum restaurant in Brandon, I was so excited, I had to try it right away. After reading a lot of negative reviews, I was prepared for a less than standard experience. This review is based on food, service, cleanliness, and atmosphere. Initially, we ordered seven dim sum items and the crabmeat rangoon for an appetizer. After marking our order on the dim sum sheet, our waitress changed the price of one of the items we ordered. No big deal. About five minutes later, our waitress came to tell us they were out of fried taro. No big deal. The crab rangoon came out fairly quickly, and was good, but the order was supposed to come with 10 and she only brought out 5. She just said, "we only have five", and walked away. No big deal. That was very strange, but at least she took 50% off that item. From that point, our dining experience went down hill. I can't say there's anything I would want to order again. The food was either bland, not prepared well, or had a bad aftertaste. The service was bad. As with a lot of other reviews, the complaints are legitimate; service was slow because they are overwhelmed and inefficient. Our server was friendly, but very young and didn't seem experienced or properly trained. Cleanliness was an issue for me. On Sundays, the restaurant doesn't open until noon, so they hadn't been open long when we arrived, yet the place was dirty. There were crumbs on the floor, the walls were dirty, and dust was everywhere. I used the men's room, and it was disgusting. It obviously hadn't been cleaned in months. Not just they neglected, didn't check up if you need anything else the whole meal, also even when you asked for things, they had a cold face and you had to wait long. I left tip eventually, before I left another server looked like manager/ owner reached out to me asked where was the tip. I said I left in cash on the tray together with my credit card at paying for the server who came to collect. She turned quickly to that server and both of them acted like they didn't know anything. Lee House has went through a couple of changes in the two years they have been open. They first took over a buffet restuarant off of Bloomingdale that had been there for years. The previous buffet was pretty good and had a local following. Lee House went through a transition where they switched to being non-buffet and offering a traditional Chinese and Dim Sum menu, not just the American Chinese most of us are familiar with. That's when my wife and I fell in love with the place. Shortly after that, they closed down. A few months later, they bought another buffet place on 60. That buffet place had only been there a couple of years. It started out really good and went down hill really fast. I had stopped going there all together. When Lee House took over, the first thing to go was the buffet. It took them a couple of months to make the change over and they have worked hard to make the interior of the restaurant nicer...... That's not the reason to go though... The reason to go is the food. It's amazing. Everything is very fresh and very well traditional. Their menu will seem huge, because the front half is traditional Chinese and the back half is American Chinese. So if you want General Tso Chicken, you will be happy, but if you want to be a little more adventurous, try the front half of the menu and make sure you add in a few of the items from the Dim Sum Menu. I will admit, they have had some staffing issues as they have gotten going, but most of the time, the service is good too. read more

We ordered lunch from Lee House (located in public parking lot off the 60). Overall their service was inconsistent during months around covid, but this time it was straight on bad. Heavily breaded HONEY chicken had 0% honey taste (my fav). Fellow dinner ordered orange chicken, received kung pao (we think). It was so bad our dogs 120lb an 14 lb both wouldn't eat it.
