We got the sampler and stew chicken/oxtail and oxtail Mac n cheese. All were excellent and tender..the sampler platter included the fish empanadas, garnaches and the salbutes that were all great. The stew dishes were all tender and delicious couple with rice n beans and plantains. The plantains were also great and tasty. The milk cake was interesting and good. Very affordable prices. The staff was very nice and helpful and the atmosphere was more of a chill and family vibe and a bit slower for you to enjoy more. Parking is a pain with 2 hr limit and luckily, there seemed to be a local that warned us of the time limits and the meter maid waiting to give out tickets. read more

I've been meaning to try this spot because I love Belizean food, and now that I work in the area, I really had no excuse not to pull up. An old coworker and I linked to catch up -- and of course, food was involved We started with the sample platter (panades, garnaches, and salbutes), and baby... everything was flavorful. A solid start. For my entrée, I got the stew chicken with rice and beans and plantains -- classic, comforting, and done right. My friend ordered the sautéed shrimp in coconut milk, and you already know I had to taste that too. Her official review: "The shrimp was super flavorful and cooked perfectly. The rice was sliiiightly undercooked, but still fire -- 8/10." The service? Great. Our server was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed -- even reminded us about the spicy slaw (which would've been a crime to miss). We came to Little Belize after seeing it on the LATryGuy's YouTube video. My husband has Belizean roots and has really been missing the flavors his grandmother used to cook. And This place didn't disappoint. It came really close to what he remembers growing up We ordered the brown stew chicken plate with rice and peas, potato salad, and fried plantains, plus a side of mac & cheese sooo good! Everything was flavorful, comforting, and felt like a warm hug. It's worth a visit! The service was excellent, and our waitress took time to explain the menu. First time trying this spot today ! FIRE. I just got the sampler plate and chicken tamale. Very flavorful I have no complaints. The customer service is also great. The woman who took my order was very welcoming and had great energy which is sometimes rare at some Caribbean places (that I've been to). Went to order takeout and the cashier rung in the wrong food so of course when I got the food I brought it to their attention and offered to pay the difference for what I wanted and was told no I would have to Refund the order and pay again, like what? How does that make sense. If I already paid you why am I not able to pay the difference for the correct order. Trash. And had the nerve to have an attitude about it. Seriously screw this place. Alright, I was missing home a lot and needed to have the sense of being back in Belize, so while I was out in California spending a weekend with my partner I wanted to have her try this place with me too unfortunately we lost track of time at the aquarium that we didn't had time to sit down and eat but we got it the next day in the way to the airport to drop me off. What I got from here was 2 plates of rice and beans with stew chicken that came with the side of plantains her side had the potato salad while I got the Cole slaw. When you open the container wow the smell of it smell like home and so good! The chicken was tender and the meat was falling off the bone when peeling ! Submitted my order at 1:36pm on a Sunday (per the email notification) 1. Oxtail 1. Stew Beef and a few desserts, $73, once all said and done nearly $100....order was dropped off at 3:59pm (per email notification). I had communication with the Door Dash Driver (DDD) after 2pm ish who discovered the order not ready as expected and would take an additional 45 mins, no issue for me, a Sunday afternoon being busy not a surprise. Then I was told by the DDD that they were advised I cancelled the beef order, I had not, I said IF they had run out that was one thing but no I had not cancelled, the DDD asked if I wanted chicken instead, then suggested I call directly, I did. A woman answered the phone and said my name, that made me feel good. I ok'd chicken as they had run out of the beef. The order arrived, surprised to see two ox tail dinners, one with plantain, I specifically noted NO PLANTAIN, and yet there it was. Luckily plantains aren't on our families allergy list (long list), we just don't enjoy them. Not sure how to feel, the Mac & Cheese is not good, the oxtail I sampled was very tender and the extra gravy I ordered was necessary. Originally on the fence I'm now off and it's a sadly it is no for me. The DDD, ANNISHA, was great, attentive and responsive. I do appreciate the customer service I received when I called, the woman who answered the phone was aware of the issue and attended to the issue. Shout to door dash for helping me discover this establishment. I was on door dash searching for food after a long day of work. I came across this restaurants page. After reading the reviews on the app and on yelp I decided to place an order. I ordered the stew chicken, a side of onion sauce and hot pepper sauce. OMG! the stew chicken is so flavorful. I am not sure what type of sauce they cook it in, but it is so good! The meal comes with rice, vegetables, and plantains. The onion sauce and hot pepper sauce just elevates the flavors. I also ordered the milk cake. It was just okay. I thought maybe I just didn't get a fresh slice, or it had been refrigerated because it was not moist. The caramel on top made the cake taste a little better. Since ordering from Little Belize, I have had it about three more times. I ordered the lemon pie for dessert, and this was very good. If you're not used to Belizean food, just know they make everything from scratch, so there's a bit of a wait, but the food is always so good!!! Dined in at Little Belize Restaurant in Inglewood and had a fantastic experience from the food, drinks to the service. We had the sample platter with fish panades. I ordered the shrimp curry and my guy had stew oxtails. Added onion sauce and habanero hot sauce here and there set off the taste buds in the most satisfying way! Lots of love in the margarita that was served strong and delicious! The Reggae Medley bottled juice was also a nice size, tasted fresh and was served nice and cold. Food came out reasonably fast and portion sizes were on point for the price. Caribbean vibes, clean restaurant and lovely lovely greetings and smiles by multiple staff made it an excellent experience. So I had the curry shrimp, with rice and peas on the side. This wasn't my first time here but my first time eating this, this cost close to 30 bucks kinda on the pricey side for the portion. The staff is very friendly th restaurant is clean and gives an island feel. This place is located in downtown Inglewood. The curry shrimp was a bit disappointing it was spicy but no real curry flavor I could taste and the shrimp were small. The rice and peas were dry. My parents are from Belize and I grew up eating all the delectable dishes my parents grew up enjoying. Now Caribbeans are very harsh when eating other natives foods, must I must say I thoroughly enjoyed the food. It tastes just like out of my mother and sister's kitchen. The stewed chicken dinner plate, the oxtail mac and cheese, and the breakfast with Belizean style eggs and fry jacks...simply amazing. The dish that always has my heart is the panades. I come back for it again and again. It takes time and patience to perfect these recipes and kudos to the chef, they are spot on. One piece of constructive criticism: please hire another waitress to help Ms. Hortense. She is a sweet and delightful woman with excellent customer service but handling the entire restaurant alone is counterproductive to great customer service. If they can get that together skies will be the limit. I encourage everyone to visit to get an authentic taste and warmth of Belize dishes and give a little grace until they can resolve the staffing issue. read more

I will never not try Belizean food. It brings back fond memories of my trip there many years back, and I love the colorful combination of Latin and Caribbean. For starters, I love starters. Their Sampler Platter is a selection of important classics, including crisp panades filled with fish, garnaches of fried tortillas, and salbutes with a thicker corn base and juicy shredded chicken. There is also a Plantain Boat, which had delicious individual components but I didn't feel like I needed to eat them together. The plantain is sweet and deliciously fried, but the tangy-savory chicken-tomato-onion filling is far better served on a simple tortilla. The Oxtail is a decent entree, doused in a heavy brown gravy. A bit on the salty side for me but it works over rice. The oxtail itself is tender, but it's actually the rice and beans I can't forget. Stewed and spicy, the savory flavors run so deep that it could be a stand-alone dish. Desserts are nice but not a necessity. Milk Cake is a bit dry overall though I do love dulce de leche. Lemon Pie is lovely, love the zest in the custard-y filling. Nothing tastes better than nostalgia, and I like Little Belize for it. Not sure how they compare to all the otherCaribbean restaurants in Inglewood, but I'm looking forward to finding out! read more
