    Need I say more?!!‍

Pricing is sooo right and service is almost always incredible!! Manager and tenured associate Oates always deliver!! My issue with Lees is they stock VERY old craft beer!!.. not even worthy of consumption. Stopped in today and bought a local ipa 4 years old!! Caveat emptor, old liquor to be had...

    My receipt.

Placed an order online for nearly $150. They had nothing in stock that was listed as in stock online except the orange bitters I ordered. So one of the employees, Lance, called me and had me approve other brands, etc. so he could fulfill the order. Everything ended up costing me about $30 more, which was okay with me because this is a Christmas gift. One of the items he had to replace was stemmed jarred cherries. Lance told me there were no other kinds/ brands of cherries at the time he fulfilled the order. When I came to pick up my order today, I noticed that they had other types of cherries and asked if I could exchange them. Scott asked the boss at the store if I would be able to exchange them. He said that they cannot alter online orders. I replied that they had already altered my order by having to replace nearly every item in the first place and that Lance had told me that there were no other brands of cherries available (I was unaware that they had just gotten some in stock today which the boss quickly and unkindly made me aware of.) The boss then further told me that I must've approved those order changes over the phone, which I did. Guilty as charged - However, I was also ignorant of the fact that no further changes could be made once the order had been fulfilled (even if things were stocked the very next day and I wasn't informed that there was a shipment coming in and that maybe some of the original items I ordered could be available the next day). He then told Scott (as if I wasn't standing right there listening), "Well, she can buy the other ones if she wants." All if this in a very rude and condescending tone, as if I did something wrong when I was just trying to exchange some cherries (for more expensive ones). If he would've talked to me like a decent human being and explained the situation instead of being entirely rude, I wouldn't be feeling upset and writing this review right now. (Btw Scott and Lance were very friendly.)

    $21.99 or 39.99? Hmm hehe

5 stars this time. Always a clean store, convenient to home & certain, regular employees make the day. I didn't get to see Patty who is always busy doing something so no worry this time. She knows her wine. Also I didn't have the pleasure of meeting anyone else but everyone is usually nice. I do buy a regular 'house' wine or champagne, depends on what's cooking or what the folks want for the holidays or whatever. November 4th & 5th are the Breeders Cup so here we are yay! There's always a time to celebrate! Cheers to the Breeders Cup weekend yay!

    Slim pickings.

With beer on tap and wine by the glass, plus plenty of tables to sit and hang out. The concept here is genius: they've got a fridge stocked with meats and cheeses right next to crackers, so you can literally build your own charcuterie board on the spot. There's usually a food truck parked outside too. You can also buy a bottle of wine, a case of beer, or a pack of seltzers, and they'll hold onto it for you and pour as you go. It's such a cozy, easygoing spot that we constantly lose track of time there, quite literally hours just disappear. The staff is friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable every single time. It's become one of our favorite local spots, and it's always fun bringing new people who have no idea what they're walking into. Highly recommend! Such a great not so hidden gem.

The real magic happens on Tuesdays and Fridays when the food trucks roll in. I never miss a Tuesday for Hapahaole's Hawaiian street tacos, and Fridays are reserved for Signora Pizza, the best Italian truck in town. The owners and staff of both trucks are incredibly sweet and attentive; they always make you feel welcome while you're grabbing your food. I love that you can grab a drink from the shop and relax in the cozy indoor seating area (they even have books!) or enjoy the outdoor patio during the spring and summer. Whether you're shopping or just hanging out, this place is a gem!

But they can't compete with the big boys in terms of either selection or price, and their staff needs a wee bit more training. Full review: Today, I thought that it might be pleasant to stop by a smaller liquor store than the big box places that dominate Las Vegas, so I checked out Liquor City. It is conveniently located across Horizon Ridge from Target, in a small and easily accessible strip mall setting. Inside, the store is tidy, organized, and fast to size up. I was looking for bourbon, and it took a nanosecond to find their alphabetized whiskey selection. Since it was so well organized, it didn't take long for me to determine that they didn't have what I was looking for. I asked the young man behind the counter if they had Evan Williams bottled-in-bond (white label), and was met with a bewildered, "Yes, we have Evan Williams. It's right there." He pointed at standard black label Evan Williams. "No, no," I attempted to clarify, "bottled-in-bond. White label." His response: "What's that?" Aside from my disappointment that they didn't have what I wanted, I was a bit surprised that the fellow behind the counter didn't know what a bonded whiskey is, or that liquors have different varieties sold under the same label. Bottled-in-bond whiskey isn't a rare or weird thing. Somebody who works at a liquor store should really know about it. Failing to find my favorite cheap bottle, I decided to go for my second choice: Wild Turkey 101. Everybody sells it, as did Liquor City. But then came the sticker shock: $50 for a handle. That's really expensive! So I bid the nice clerk farewell and headed to Lee's Liquors, where I bought a handle of WT101 for $35. So: It's a nice idea to have a locally owned and convenient liquor store. But they don't seem able to compete with the major players, and there's not much to recommend here until they up their game.

I had just sold my old car at CarMax located down the road and my dad requested that we stop by Total Wine & More before I took him home. I decided to go inside with him because I was curious what they had here. He had his eye on a specific type of white wine and thanks to someone here that helped him out, he ended up clearing out all of its' inventory, buying at least six bottles of this specific brand. It was a Riesling white wine but I don't remember the full name of it. He and my mom now have plenty of wine to go through over the next couple of months lol. Here, I thought to myself, I should buy myself a bottle of wine as well. At my dad's suggestion and since I'm a big fan of Chardonnay and other types of white wine, I picked up a Nobilis white wine straight out of Portugal. When I traveled to Europe a couple of years ago, I did a lot of white wine tastings and this is pretty much how my white wine palate peaked. I've yet to visit Portugal, though. I haven't opened this bottle yet, but I already know that I'll like it. Although I don't really frequent Total Wine & More, they have a wide variety of wine and alcohol choices to choose from.

The bag was extremely flimsy, broke while we were carrying it, and the bottle fell and cut my girlfriend's foot. I returned to the store calmly. I brought the broken bag, pictures of her injury, and explained exactly what happened. I wasn't being disrespectful or demanding. I simply asked whether anything could be done to replace it. The employee called his manager and put him on speakerphone. The manager listened to the story, debated whether he wanted to help, and then asked: "Is he Black?" He clearly didn't realize I could hear him. Even the employee immediately responded, "Why does that matter?" And that is the question. Why did my race matter when deciding whether I was telling the truth? Why did my race matter when deciding whether I deserved to be helped? Why did my race matter when there was physical evidence, an injury, a broken bag, and a completely reasonable explanation? At that point, it wasn't even about the bottle anymore. It was about hearing, in real time, how someone's perception of my honesty, character and worth as a customer could change based solely on the color of my skin. The employee defended me while I was standing there; but it also made me wonder: How many of these conversations happen when we aren't close enough to hear them? How many Black customers are labeled dishonest, aggressive, suspicious or undeserving before they've even been given a fair chance? People love to say racism isn't as common anymore or that Black people make everything about race. But sometimes, we don't have to "make it" about race. Someone else does it for us. Ironically, I looked around and I was one of two black people in the store. So black people are spending money at this establishment frequently, I'm sure. 5 stars to the man who took care of the situation. 0/5 for the owner/manager on the phone who was about to make a decision on how I was serviced solely based on the color of my skin.
