The tea or other drink for $1 is the icing on the value cake for lunch. I made the "mistake" of ordering the side because my mom loves okra. She was surprised and talked about how long it has been since she had okra. Yes the fried okra was good. This is about value. For $2.20 more we could have had another meal. This is another warning in life to slow down and pay attention. The counter lady was very nice. The cooks were very efficient and I received my food quickly. I absolutely used to Love Lee's Chicken better then Kentucky Fried for 10 years running, that was until this evening around 4:30 pm ish at the 5th Street location. I ordered a three piece original chicken mixed meal with double okra and a gallon of sweet tea. My order was $17 and some change. When I arrived home and opened up my container of food....The container had three pieces of oven baked chicken, potato fries and coleslaw. WHAT??? I contacted the restaurant and requested to speak with a manager and the manager was very apologetic and further stated If I return back he will make it right. So, I returned back and went through the drive thru and reiterated what was wrong and handed him back the incorrect meal. Again, the manager was very apologetic, restated what I had ordered and said he would be right back. About 10 minutes or so had passed and a nice young lady handed me my meal and apologized again that they had made a mistake. I said thank and told her to have a good night! Then, I am thinking good deal I get to finally eat my dinner. Much to my dismay, I received two pieces of original chicken not the three that I originally ordered and paid for. Like Really???? Customer service is awful. Check your order before you leave the drive thru. If it's not right they do not care. My order was wrong. We received the wrong chicken pieces. When I called they said to call customer service or bring it back. I had kids to feed. I told them that. I just wanted credit for a future date. So now I'm annoyed I drove the chicken legs back up with the receipt that clearly said No legs. The manager first said I had to call customer service. No I want customer service Now. Not bad for a chain. This is my first visit and I tried the Country Steak lunch special: Two country steaks covered in gravy with two sides. I chose Cajun rice and mac & cheese as the sides. The food was hot and served to the table. The mac & cheese was buttery and cheesy and the Cajun rice was spicy. The country steaks were good, but a little difficult to cut with the plastic fork. The only complaint is the iced tea; it tasted like instant tea. Yea, I am from the South and we take our iced tea very seriously below the Mason Dixon line, but I will pass on Lee's iced tea next time. read more

I have to say the young gentleman at the drive-thru is always kind and perfect at his job, he truly should be the manager verse the manager we did encounter. The food here is usually amazing for fast food and we go through the drive-thru a lot. Well, DID. Recently we got a dippers meal and of course after eating a few dippers, I come upon one with a battered and fried hair attached! I rarely complain and if I could of just pulled it off, I probably would have been fine with everything else... after all, the grease should of fried off the germs, right? BUT it was mixed in with the batter and connecting two dippers together! I wanted to puke up the food I had already ate. I couldn't run back up there so I kept my receipt and the pieces in question. When I finally could make time to get back up there, I brought my receipt and the chicken. The gentleman at the register apologized and asked what he could do to remedy it. I said in a kind and smiling way, "well, this hasn't happened to me before, so what do you suggest?" I by no means wanted a huge reward for finding these lovely hairs in my food, but was hoping for somewhat of a refund. Right after the gentleman asked me and I replied, a woman whom I'm guessing is the manager came over and said rudely, "why didn't you call? Why didn't you come right back up? Did you bring the whole meal? I can give you one dipper and that's it." I was kind of dumbfounded and said, "uh, no... I brought the pieces that have the hair cooked into them. I figured that was what you really wanted to see? If there's nothing you can do about it but give me one dipper... then no worries." I was prepared to drive away and then someone suggested a free lunch meal punch card to be used between open until 3pm. They handed the card to us and we drove away, however I doubt we use it. Perhaps they get complaints and people wanting free food all the time, who knows, but we did what we could and provided them with both the receipt and the item. Yet, she made us feel like we were the ones who made the mistake! You can easily look and see the hair that was mixed into the batter. We definitely were not trying to pull a fast one on you, Mrs. Lee. I hope your amazing employee at the drive-thru finds a better place of employment, because he deserves it. read more

9/24/20 Got into drive through line at 6:30pm. After 15 minutes at 6:45pm ordered 3 deep fried pickles. 6:50pm, payed for my order & was told to pull up because my order wasn't ready. I pulled up & waited...... 6 cars from behind me drove off with their food. 6:58pm, girl came out & handed me my food. Didn't offer an apology- said nothing, so I asked, "what happened, why did it take so long to get my food?" She got really pissed off & sarcastic & said "well we when took it out of the fryer we dropped it on ground, you didn't still want it did you?" & walked off. The chicken is still delicious, but it seems to have shrunk in the past couple of years! It makes me wonder if they're now using Rock Cornish game hens instead of regular fryers. They definitely are using dwarf chicken-like poultry, so if you used to order the three-piece meal, you'll now need a four- or five-piece meal to feel satisfied. They have the best Breast strips here. They are large size and taste great. The coleslaw is very good. the Breast strip meal is what I order most of the time and it is always very good. I am only giving them 3 stars because tonight for the third time, I ordered some Spicy chicken for the 3rd time and for the 3rd time I did not get any Spicy chicken. For the 3rd time I got regular chicken. Tonight I asked twice to be given Spicy legs and thighs and for the 3rd time got regular chicken. Do not understand why they say they have Spicy chicken, but refuse to give you Spicy chicken. This just makes them look stupid and maybe that's the Image they wish to have. read more

Was traveling on the 4th of July, and stopped by this place. My daughter got the regular chicken and I got the chicken tenders... If I had known then what I know now, I would have just gotten the box of 20 chicken tenders to take on the road with me! Those tenders were some of the best tasting chicken tenders I have had in a VERY long time! The restaurant was clean, well-maintained, and the staff were very courteous. I went here expecting to be wowed by the chicken. When I travel I look for local hole in the wall places because they are always amazing. Since this review was a 5 star, I was expecting to be completely taken away. I was disappointed. The building reminded me of a Kentucky Fried Chicken which should have set my feelers working (nothing wrong with KFC but I was expecting nothing more than amazing). I ordered the original with slaw and potatoes and gravy. It also came with a biscuit. The slaw and potatoes were almost an identical match to KFC. Then I tried the chicken. It was just ok. Kids where hungry so we went to Lee's, ordered $43 worth of food took it's back home we started eating and noticed the fries were hard, chicken was dry as if it had been reheated, okra was soft, gizzards where hard, and so where the biscuits. We called and talked to JOHN EDWARDS and he said bring the food back and we will replace it for you so we packed up the food and brought it back. We are here now and JOHN EDWARDS (as he repeated his name in an aggressive manner) take our food and give us back $14 out of the 43 and basically refused to serve us this is my first time at this Lee's, expected it to be more professional and nice at least but I will not be coming back to this one and dont recommend others to come. read more

I did not want to give a ONE STAR review on this, because the food is amazing. I will not complain about the food. My complaint is certain members of the staff. When I come through your drive-thru, I am respectful and polite, being that I know from previous work experience what it is like dealing with jerks in drive-thru. I always try to be loud, speak clear and respectful, to the person on the other end of the speaker. However, when I come through your drive-thru and the woman on the other end has the personality of a rock, and is short with me when it comes to answering my questions, I grow a little irritated. After contacting Lees corporate on the problems I experienced, nothing was done to resolve the issue. Lee's chicken is much better than you'd expect from your typical fast food fried chicken restaurant. They have a wide variety on their menu. The Fried Pickles a delicious and they are one of the few places where you can get lizards and gizzards in st Charles. In terms of the chicken the have oven roasted, Famous, and Spicy crispy.
