I haven't been to a Bob Evans in years. I used to go with my grandparents to the location in Florissant, but when that restaurant shut down, I didn't visit another Bob Evans until I saw one next to campus. I decided to go there for the nostalgic feel of the restaurant. When I walked in around 7:50 PM, it wasn't very busy, and it took a moment to be seated. Once seated, I placed my order. My server, whose name I think started with an 'A,' was very friendly; she took my order and checked on me a few times. I enjoyed my meal, which consisted of a bacon cheeseburger with everything on it, and a lemonade (with free refills). The ambiance was quite peaceful, with not much talking since there weren't many people in the restaurant. I particularly liked the interior decor, especially the little t-shirts, plushies, and baked goods available for purchase as you walk in. Overall I would recommend people come here its good food and definitely a great place for family dinner I will definitely be back in the future! Also I would like to know if people remember if Bob Evans had smiley fries and banana bread as an appetizer. I remember getting banana nut bread all the time at Bob Evans. read more

Wonderful for me. Chopped steak with grilled onions, corn, mashed taters in chicken gravy, 2 biscuits. DO NOT eat here if you do not like your food served quickly and while it is still hot. It was great. Became my next BRF. Wife had deep fried cod, fries, onion rings yay companies by mayo tartar sauce. She said fish was too salty and thought it might be overcooked. I took a bite and salt was not there but fish was a little tough. So 4 stars. Michelle was our server. Moves like a pin ball bouncing from table to table, kept a close eye on our drinks. This Bob Evans location is in between my sister-in-law who lives in Florissant and us that live in Dardenne Prairie. We go to this location often. We ask for Tammy when she is there but the other servers are good also. Their prices are very good. We eat there cheaper than anyplace else and we eat out a lot. The food is also delicious. Before we even ordered the silverware was disgustingly dirty. Even letting the server know. I was then given another dirty set. This Bob Evans (1998 Zumbehl Rd, St. Charles, MO) is the single worst restaurant experience I have ever had. This place is a disgrace to the community and should be shut down immediately. * Over 1 hour wait for food after ordering. * No server checked on us once -- I had to get my own water. * Filthy tables and condiment shakers (clear health code violation). * I ordered a three-egg veggie omelette and was served an overcooked mess with ham in it. * Biscuits were inedible -- oversalted, dry, and disgusting. * Portions were tiny for the price. * The manager's behavior was appalling: rude, dismissive, unprofessional, and openly ignorant. * The atmosphere included racism and ignorance on top of already terrible service. This isn't just bad service -- it's a health hazard and a hostile environment. The food is unsafe, the staff untrained, and the management toxic. We have been going to this restaurant for the last 15 years and it has never failed us until recently. One morning we show up and the place is crowded with only one waitress. She knows we are regulars and so she says the cook is out sick. I am waitressing and cooking orders and the service is slow today is that OK. Well no this is a before work stop so we had to leave. A couple of visits later we come in for breakfast and there is a hostess and waitress and they say there no one to key up the computers and registers, it's going to be a while...again we did not wait. Next visit my over medium egg was very runny and I asked for them to regrill it. It came back like hard rubber because they put it in the microwave. This morning, a brand new waitress/hostess and a young man I don't know his position but he wasn't happy to be there. We order an item off menu that our regular girls always get for us, The good egg/the early bird. I assume ther is still a register key for that because all the waitresses seem to know it and we get it just fine. Todays waitress didn't have a clue and we told her what the dish was, and the price. We were charged as side items which came out higher than it should have been , and we would have just ordered differently had we known. Once again I had to send my too runny egg back. At least this time made over it came back OK. There is a regular group of elder guys who come in every day and when chatting with them I asked if they were OK because 3 of the guys were missing. The men commented they were fine but dining elsewhere because this place seems to be going down. I have to agree. Please look into your management, all the good waitresses don't leave for no reason and the daily performance made us decide we will not be back unless there are some major changes. We usually enjoy this Bob Evans, even though they have perpetually dirty blinds and windows. However, today's Dressing (Turkey and dressing) was burned and grossly oversalted. The turkey, also, was not the usual neat slices. Instead, it was bits and pieces...like the left-overs in the bottom of the pan. Maybe a new cook? I dunno. However, one more visit like this and we'll no longer be a customer. So, on the basis of a fairly good track record, I'll give this store a "middlin'" grade of 2 !/2 stars. read more

I came in and unfortunately no one was at the door however, they were very short staffed, which is understandable. I just went to the carry out register, and was greeted by someone working behind the counter I picked up my food, I always recommend breakfast. We had the best service ever! We are from California visiting for a hockey tournament and our hotel's continental breakfast was terrible. We've been to a Bob Evan's before and enjoyed it so we thought we'd try it again. Vicki was our server and she was amazing. She was welcoming, efficient, and made us feel like we'd just stopped by a family member's house for a meal. She had our entire area laughing at one point. She even found us a great spot for gluten free desserts for our son. The restaurant itself was clean and cutely decorated. They even have a little gift shop similar to Black Bear Diner. For breakfast we had the usual bacon and eggs, toast, and pancakes. The food came out fast and hot. Everything was delicious. We went back the next day! read more

Summary: Homestyle comfort foods. This isn't a place I normally think of for a meal. However, someone else chose it for a meeting so I got the opportunity to try it again. I have nothing against Bob Evans, however the menu is mostly things I can cook at home just as well as Bob. People tell me I do okay in the kitchen: Why pay for what I can do cheaper and maybe better? Like Denny's or IHOP--both of which seem interchangeable to me with Bob Evans--the meal was acceptable and the service satisfactory. Stopped in the other morning for breakfast and it was a great experience. Got seated immediately, the menu was expansive, and I was able to make lots of healthy swaps. Subbed egg whites on the veggie omelet and added chicken, got a side of fruit and of course the famous banana bread for my bread. My boyfriend had the country fried steak with hashbrowns and banana bread. Also got coffee which was always filled. The service was good even though they were busy. Food was gross, looks out of date and dirty inside, feels like a nursing home. Host sat me and my family next to a person with mental health issue (when there were so many other tables open). He talked to us so loud for 40 minutes about his drug problems while we waited in an empty restaurant for our breakfast. Waitress served us dirty coffee mugs, she was inattentive and it was like she was avoiding our table. Food order finally came out and pancakes just dissolved into mush from the syrup. Walk in recently this week, ordered food to go and a lady sears a couple and helps them and never says anything to me. I await for help them the manager shows up to give me my order. Stayed at a nearby hotel after a long trip. Ordered two take out salads. Service and food were both excellent. While waiting for the food prep the shift manager asked if we would like a couple complementary desserts, which had been prepared by accident. Boy did those hit the spot. Our servers name was dawn who was extremely friendly checking back on us multiple times throughout our meal.We both got the three course dinner with mine being broccoli cheddar, black angus chopped steak and chocolate sundae. Hers was baked potato soup, country fried steak and a caramel sundae. Everything arrived one meal after another tasting more delicious after each one. My family and I are currently at Bob Evans trying to get seated. We are aware that Sunday's are busy days for most restaurants in this area but CUSTOMER SERVICE should be priority! It shouldn't matter if I want to request a table for 20 or 2, never make negative facial expressions when a group request a table for a large party, this is a public restaurant and we should feel welcome regardless of our party size. Angela , the hostess, was not professional at all when we stated our party size! She began saying negative words and making us feel like we should go somewhere else. Bob Evans is one of our favorite restaurants and we want to feel welcomed anytime we come! The food was ok at best. Want the herb chicken, but it only came with dark meat. I opted for the grilled chicken with mashed and Mac. The mash potatoes were awesome, but the Mac not so much. My husband had the pancakes and bacon. The pancakes were very good, had a cake batter flavor and were nice a fluffy. The food here is amazing, My only complaint is the old ladies that are servers. Me and my husband always get the same thing when we come, and sometimes the waitress doesn't understand(which is totally fine) but the slight attitude is not. It's not hard, and there's nothing wrong with saying you don't understand, or need more explanation. There is this young girl that works there with blonde hair, LOVE HER, I wish I could remember her name. The assistant manager Susan helefer is also amazing. My hubs for some reason likes going here. I've found that we've had some of the strangest dining experiences ever at this place. They food is meh, very processed, and probably frozen, re-heated, that sort of food. But the service ... it's always so strange. Went last night ... our waitress was pretty funny, not a kid, a mature lady, but it was also very odd ... she kept bitching under her breathe (I could hear her) ... I think she was the only server on the entire side of the dining room, and got stuck with a 10 person table. I heard her call the manager a dumb ass ... it cracked me up. They were also complaining, and apologizing about being down to only one cook ... so he was struggling. Took a long time to get our meh food ... my bacon tasted like it has been sitting out for hours. Hope I don't have to go back. Blech.
