Stupid, stupid, stupid! Sorry, I'm not one for name calling or venting angry outbursts like this but this time it deserves it! So I walk in at 6:45pm and ask for baguettes and the lady behind the counter (glasses, brunette) tells me "we don't have anymore, it'll be ready in 15 minutes." So I go back to my car and wait, 15 minutes later I walk back in and the same lady tells me "we're closed." Really?! Really?! At least have the decency to tell me the truth and not lie to my face! So I drove to the new location...only to find this email was a lie! There were people inside and the door was wide open, so I walked in and asked them if they were open. There were two guys talking, one on a computer, and I told them I had just received an email saying they were open. I even told them that I was excited that they were open and that's why I drove all the way over. I guess I was looking for some explanation or apology for the premature email. I just got the "we open tomorrow" response like I should know better. I went out to my car and looked at the email again. It clearly says NOW OPEN, but there is some fine print at the bottom saying they open the next day. I read fine print when it comes to special deals, but not when a place says they are now open! At least I know I'm not the only one who had this happen; in the minute or two I spent in my car, I saw several others pull in and then leave, including a girl who sat there looking at her phone, likely re-reading the email like I had. Whoever sent this early email screwed up and should have sent a correction. I guess someone who works there has a problem with being PREMATURE. lol... I'm kind of wondering if it was one of the guys sitting there. The two stars is for their mistake and failure to handle it better. My first time here, I did not read the review because I didn't want to get persuaded so in my honest opinion the breakfast sandwich was mediocre.it was small and for 6$ it didn't cut it for me. I would not be coming back for another sandwich. I will however come back to try a coffee next time, as I just read many people love it. Let's talk sandwiches! And this spot specifically!! I absolutely adore this place! If someone asked me to survive off one sandwich for the rest of my life, it would be their Banh Mi Grilled Pork (their #5) Love their BBQ one too but the grilled pork is too good. It's a really good ratio of veggies and pork. You can tell the baguettes are fresh which I think makes a sandwich top notch. They are not the bulkiest sandwiches which I don't mind since I get full fast (so buy two if you don't get full easily). I like to accompany it with a smoothie with boba. Love their taro and just tried their lychee one which is also super good. Take note that there are jalapeño slices in the sandwich for those who can't tolerate spicy food. I think it adds a great kick to the sandwich and with the smoothie, it balances it out. Highly recommend it! Still exploring their menu as they have pastries and other sandwiches which also look really good. They also have macaroons and also other goodies. They have a snack section. They have these Pia Cakes filled with different things like taro and durian. If you're into sweet bean foods, this one will be up your alley! I went to another Lee's Sandwich in Bellflower and noticed that not all locations carry the same snacks but I still left with something! I don't drink coffee but had a slurp of my bf's iced mocha and it was supreme!! They do fill the cup up with ice so if you don't want that much, let them know. Anyways, love love LOVE this spot!! Terrible service. The younger heavy set lady at the counter upon me and my friends arriving didn't seem approachable. She said nothing but gave dirty looks and rolled her eyes every time we put in a order for something that they didn't have and got upset. How are we supposed to know!? a heads up would be nice, I felt uncomfortable and didn't put in a order because she was just rude. I hate to leave a one-star review, but it is definitely warranted here. I've been ordering sandwiches from these people at this location on Cherry Ave. in Long Beach (just south of 91 frwy) for over a year. I've ordered the exact same sandwich with the same side notes every single time, through Postmates. There were issues in the past when hardly any avocado was on the sandwiches at all, or my notes say no cheese and no mayonaise but they were added a couple times. I called and spoke to the Mgr. and explained that if they just read my notes I'm clear on what I want as I'm vegan. Manager was very helpful, apologetic, and said it would not happen again. So I thought all was good. Today I order the sandwiches, same notes as I've always used, and I get a text about the order that I need to modify it within 10 minutes or it will be cancelled. I called the location and the person that answered the phone informs me that they would have to charge me extra for pepperocinis!!!!!!????!!!!!!! What?????? Never an issue before and why in the world would you receive an extra charge for peppers??????? Girl said she didn't know why I wasn't charged more prior to this for the peppers and I got so angry I told her to cancel the order - that this was getting ridiculous! So now they lost a sale, lost a repeat customer, and Postmates lost the sale. For what? I will NEVER order from these people again. When you nickel and dime people for this crap you lose business. Whenever I didn't get enough sleep or I'm anticipating a really long day at work, I stop by Lee's to get an iced coffee. It's the best Vietnamese coffee I've ever had. It's really strong, but creamy. It gives me a boost of energy. As for the food items, I like their European sandwiches, you can order it on a baguette or croissant. Their pork & shrimp egg rolls are also delicious. They used to sell the best baked ham and cheese sandwich, which has been discontinued for a while now. I don't know why, but they need to put this back on the menu! Also, I noticed that their croissants are not as fluffy and flaky as they used to be. Customer service is good. You can also call in your order. They are very quick, which is a plus for me since I am always in a hurry in the morning. read more

Normally i don't mind, but today i asked for an iced coffee with light ice and the cup was about 2 inches short from the top. When i asked if she could fill it up more she refused and said no i can only add more ice. This is my local Lees and come here quite frequently among other locations and have never have had an issue when asking for light ice. After reading the business managers reply, perhaps training your staff on proper customer service and explanations would help, regardless. Five stars for the iced coffee. We all know it WORKS. But zero for everything else. First, the cashier handed my fiancé 5 dollars more back in change than he was owed so he did the right thing and handed it back. What to say about the circus on Cherry Avenue, except this place wasn't your average circus, it was a Lee's Sandwich franchise and the lady who runs it was the lead clown. Food, skimpy. No other words to explain this, there was exactly 12 pieces of pickled veggies, 3 very thin slices of jalapeños, 2 small branches of Cilantro and a astronomical number of 3 sliced onions. I ordered 2 sandwiches, and it was precisely counted as such for both sandwiches. First of all, why the hell are you counting so small and charging an upwards of $5 for the sandwich? I could go to a Subway and ask for 30x the amount of content that is put in a sandwich at half the price. What a freaking disgrace, the lady who runs this circus is definitely a stingy clown at that. Coffee, another one word summary: atrocious. It's about $5 for their largest cup, and they do not hesitate to sell you a cup of ice with coffee that my daughter wouldn't be effected from. Go to the 7-11 next door and get their 2 for $5 Starbuck Frappucino bottles, it would be about 3x the amount of coffee that they serve you in this circus. A damn shame, and an embarrassment. I have but two questions to ask this owner, why the hell did you allow this monstrosity to happen? And second, how do you sleep at night knowing that you are literally ripping people off at a place that's supposed to be a cut above other banh mi places. My honest advice to this owner would be to just shut the store down, and repent for your sins for letting the circus happen to your restaurant. Lee's Sandwiches... what can you really write about a place that has 100 or so locations (my rough estimate, probably not very accurate). This location is easily accessible from the expressway and has entrances on both Cherry and Artesia. Most of the vehicle traffic for this small strip mall is attributable to Lee's. Once you are inside, the staff here is very friendly and helpful, they have all of the same great drinks that are prepared with the same consistency as other Lee's locations, and the banh mi sandwiches that you expect from Lee's are offered and made with the same level of care and attention.
